    Default Breeding Problem

Why is it that when I place a Numel and Whismur or Camerupt and Exploud in the breeding center (of opposite genders of course) , I never get an egg? Also, many pokemon who I know for sure could breed in Gold and Silver (like Gyarados and Seeking), won't breed when I try to get them to. The guy just always says, "They don't seem to like each other." Am I doing someting wrong? I appreciate anyone who can help.

If they don't seem to like eachother, they will produce an egg, but it will take a long long time.

Somebody at NoA desperately needs to be fired for that translation. What it really means is "They get along, but they don't seem to be madly in love with each other." However, too many people interpret it as "They don't get along."

Check the Ruby and Saphire egg groups. Maybe they changed them since GSC. Also, I think personality, level similarity and stats similarity have something to do with it.

    No, it should work.

Evidently your luck is a little on the low side. Try putting together two Pokémon of the same egg group but different ID numbers together. You'll have a greater chance of yielding eggs that way.
