2. Hmm, let's see.. W32/Aplore@mm, VBS/Psyme and JS\IEstart.gen.d
3. Probably W32.Tunk.A, attempts to execute all antivirus processes to prevent you from deleting it, as of May 2004 W32.Tunk.A will display a message and attempt to delete the following files:
Cio.sys
Cmsdos.sys
CCommand.com
CNtdetect.com
The deleted files are crucial to the system, and without them Windows will not restart when the computer is restarted.

4. MP3Concept. It's completely pointless. It only affects Macintosh users using iTunes, and all it does it create a file of a man laughing in your MP3 directory. Wtf?

6. Of course. It's the Mydoom worm. The one that was constantly attacking SCO and Microsoft's sites but they made an error so the attacks always failed?

Many years ago there was one that on a certain date would delete everything on your hard drive. One of my friends got hit by it and lost 3 years of university work. After hearing about it I smartly set the date on my computers clock forward to skip that date just in case.

4. What's the most ridiculous virus you've ever read about?
What the hell is the point in those ones that sit there and do nothing? Surely people can think of something more entertaining.

5. Have you ever gotten a virus off of this site?
A lot of spyware, I don't know about viruses.

6. Do you know what the hell I am talking about in the title of the poll?
Of course. It's the Mydoom worm. The one that was constantly attacking SCO and Microsoft's sites but they made an error so the attacks always failed.

Let's see... I've only ever been hit by 2 virii in 7 years, and one of them was Blaster (I can't remember the other one though). I could've prevented Blaster, had I not been on holiday in Spain at the time.

From what I heard, Mydoom sucked a lot. Shame it never got to me though. 8)

Virii that remove the effects of other virii then kill themselves. In that case, surely they're not... virii?

I think I originally had McAfee but I don't think it's on my comp anymore for some reason. I downloaded one the other day for a specific virus I had but I might get Norton now.

I don't actually think I've had any viruses in the past, with the exception of one I had last week. I was unaware that it was in fact a virus but I later found out it was a blaster virus...basically, it shuts down your computer in 60 seconds.

3. What's the most dangerous virus you've ever read about?
Probably one of those worm ones that justs eats your computer out of house and home.

I don't really read about viruses, can't comment on this one.

Norton. That's it for me, but my parents' comp has that and two others I can't remember... and it's still infested with pop-ups. I'm not making this up, but I swear, you leave the computer for a minute and come back, and it'll have ten pop-ups, eight of which cover the entire screen. The computer's next to useless for the net now, even though it has a lightning-fast connection...

None that I know of... but my parents have had a bunch. They've probably had 15 or 20.

I don't read much about viruses, but I know there are some that can take down entire systems, like companies or servers.

The "I_DON'T_LOVE_YOU_EILEEN_JACOBSON" virus. Of course, it wasn't real, but it made for a darn funny FoxTrot comic.

I don't think so. My parents still blame TPM for their pop-up affliction, even though they get about 10 times more since I've stopped using their computer.

1. I dont actually have one which I know is very very stupid of me!
2. I had one on msn that just was annoying, it tried to pass it on to people by asking them if they wanted your photo. And I had the blaster virus.
3. There was the one that I got shown the coding for one, It wiped your computer back to factory settings.
4. One that gets a naked lady stripping on your desktop.
