    Default Poke-c'mon!

Hello all....so Ive gotten the Action Replay for my SP....and me and my friend were very excited because we really wanted to shark out some guys that we couldnt get yet (I wanted a Gengar, Cloyster, Umbreon, Arcanine and Charizard....he wanted his Houndoom and Hitmonchan.....)

We looked up Codes for this on gamefaqs and tried them over and over...no use...

I saw in another post someone was as desperate as me and another person was nice enough to help them get their faves by replying with the correct codes.....

Is there anyone out there that would be so gracious enough to do this for me please? It would be really appreciated =/

Im not too sure which version of Action replay I have...its just the red box one with no specific version, and it has that hilarious attempt at Groudon and Kyroge as well as Yugioh on the cover....

    please help!

The team im looking to go for....Arcanine is one of my favorites but with the people Ill be battling competatively i think Charizard might be a bit more usefull....Arcanine would have been cool though, as with him instead of Char my team wouldnt have any two that would be weak against any specific type...

(Basic Standard Sets for these guys)

    Swampert@Leftovers
Adamant: 252 Att, 129 HP, 129 Sp Def
    Curse
    Brick Break
    Earthquake
    HP Flying/Return

    Cloyster@Leftovers
Bold: 252 HP, 129 Def, 129 Sp Def
    Spikes
    Rapid Spin
    Toxic
    Ice Beam

    Gengar@Petaya Berry
Timid: 252 Spd, 252 Sp Att, 6 HP
    Giga Drain/Will-o-wisp
    Thunderbolt
    Psychic
    HP Dark/Shadow Ball?

    Sceptile@Leftovers
Timid: 252 HP, 129 Def, 129 Sp Def
    Leech Seed
    Toxic
    Protect
    Leaf Blade

    Charizard@Salac Berry
    Jolly: 252 Att, 252 Spd, 6 Whatever
    Belly Drum
    Earthquake
    Rock Slide/HP Rock/Overheat
    Aerial Ace/HP Flying

    Umbreon@Leftovers
Bold: 252 HP, 129 Def, 129 Sp Def
    Mean Look
    Baton Pass
    Wish/Substitute/Rest?
    Toxic

and Arcanine....give your opinion if I should use him or not....

    Arcanine@Leftovers/Liechi Berry
    Adamant: 252 Att, 252 Spd, 6 HP
    Howl
    Extremespeed
    Overheat
    HP Fighting/Ground?

My friends last team (not sure if hes gonna switch it up) was:

    Walrein
    Flygon
    Lanturn
    Absol
    Skarmony
    Blaziken

I know Charizard would be weak against Lanturns Electricity...but that doesnt really matter since hed be weak against the water aspect anyways....I like Charizard because he stands a chance against Flygon, one of the only ones Im really worried about, and Arcanine, well, doesnt....

And people have explained the HP thing over and over, but not really clearly....would it be of use to me if im not going to be on the bots?

How does it exactly work anyways?

Sorry for the rambling...just have lots of things im really curious about...any help would be appreciated. thanks.

    - jason

    p.s

Go ahead and rate that team too!

    Default Poke-c'mon!

First, you can get about half of those pokeys you wanted from Coluseum (if I'm not mistaken). Second, we don't really support cheaters here. I'm sure someone will give you the codes, but I'd suggest waiting for FR/LG. Third, welcome to TPM!!! You'll find that even though half the board doesn't even like pokemon anymore, it's still fun .

    Anyways, the rate...

    SWAMPERT@Shell Bell/Leftys/Chesto
    -Earthquake
    -Ice Beam
    -Curse
    -Rest/Roar/Brick Break

He makes a good physical sweeper, but he MUST HAVE ICE BEAM! He'll get killed by grasses without it, and even with it, it doesn't help that much. Better than nothing though. Of course, since your friend doesn't have a grass type, you can use that for Flygon or drop IB for something else. You need a phazer somewhere on your team, since you don't have another, and Swampert can make a pretty good one. Or you can make it a tankish guy. I'd save BB for someone else, but whatever floats your boat.

    CLOYSTER@Leftys

Set looks fine to me. Consider switching this to Glalie since he can do the exact same thing except Rapid Spin. Spikes don't appear to be much of a problem, so if you want Glalie do same set with Crunch over RS. Or, just keep Cloyster, even though that Lanturn may give it some troubles.

    GENGAR@?
    -Shadow Ball
    -Sludge Bomb
    -Confuse Ray/Mean Look
    -Destiny Bond/Perish Song

I thought he had better attack than special, so I made a kind of physical sweeper. You could make him a Perish Trapper too, with Protect maybe, or you could even stick Explosion over DB if you wanted. He has a pretty good movepool, but I don't know much about his stats.

    SCEPTILE@Leftys/Shell
    -Leaf Blade
    -Crunch
    -Dragon Claw
    -Roar/Detect

Your set can work, but I gave you a special sweeping set too. Since you've already got a toxicer, I dunno if you really need two.

    CHARIZARD@White Herb
    -Sword's Dance
    -Earthquake
    -Slash/Rock Slide/Brick Break
    -Overheat

Belly Drum is too risky with this guy. Especially with your friend's team. This guy makes a good physical sweeper, plus Overheat for a good solid special attack (at least with the herb on him).

    UMBREON@Focus Band/Leftys

Fine set, but go with Substitute. You could go with confuse ray somewhere to save the sub, but that's kinda pointless if you think about it, so whatever you want.

I'd go with Charizard, but that's just cuz I don't like Arcanine much. He (at least he used to) does get Extremespeed which can be nice though! The sets I gave should work, but I don't know much about individual stats, so see if you get any other rates too if you want.

Thanks for the imput, I appreciate it and Ill take a closer look at the movesets youve given. This is for ruby, and oh yah, I do have Coluseum and ive gotten my Umbreon ofcourse, but I dont think you can get Cloyster or Gengar from it....nor Charizard. Arcanine still does learn Extremespeed which is sweet, but I think Ill go with Char since I can use Aerial Ace and still get the STAB....

Also Gengar makes a great Special Sweeper....well how about i just lay down base stats to make this easier for all to see...then perhaps you can make more informative decisions without having to go to the trouble of looking up all this stuff...(I figure i should do SOMETHING if its you guys that are helping me out right?)

there ya go. And question...whats a Phazer?

  5. #5

    Default Poke-c'mon!

First, a phazer is a shortened word for Pseudo Hazer. A hazer is a Pokemon with the move Haze. Haze gets rid of all stat changes (plus attack, etc). A pseudo hazing move is Roar or Whirlwind. It's considered a hazing attack because it switches the opponent pokey, so if they used calm mind 5 times, all that special increase is gone down the drain. Plus, you have a new opponent (which could be good or bad).

    And, new sets:

    GENGAR@anything
    -Hypnosis/Confuse Ray
    -Dream Eater/Psychic
    -Thunderbolt
    -Giga Drain/Rest

I'd go with Dusclops if I were you, since he can get Calm Mind. If you do switch, go

    DUSCLOPS@Chesto/Leftys
    -Calm Mind
    -Ice Beam/Thunderbolt
    -Rest
    -Will-o-wisp/Confuse Ray

Or you could put the bolt/beam you didn't use for the first one over wisp/ray.

Another set for Umbreon I thought of is deadly annoying. I am currently using it on Colusseum, and it works great. But the one you have is fine too.

    UMBREON@Focus Band/Bright Powder
    -Toxic
    -Confuse Ray
    -Mean Look
    -Double Team/Substitute

Otherwise, the sets I gave you should work fine.

Ruby version eh? No problem, I'll get right to work

    Okay. Follow these steps:

1.) Make sure box 14 is completely empty

    2.) Save the game

3.) Turn it off and slap on the Action Replay

4.) Enter these codes (you may need to input each set one at a time, then reset and input the next set of codes. Be warned, these are lengthy):

    Default Cool

Awesome....thanks for the Dusclops suggestion and move set....i might consider going with that, however i just think Gengar is alot more fun =)
    ose guys
Also, I hadnt thought of this before....I didnt even think to put up that I wasnt sure if I needed the pre-evolved forms of those guys....
So will i be affected by having the final forms? I know the game has the Move tutor now....but not only that, Id kinda want Charmander/Charmelion and the rest for my National Dex.....

Thanks to Kira tho for taking the time to do that for me =)
And thanks to everyone who dropped their 2cents worth into da bucket......and....if anyone can get me

Charmander, Ghastly, Treecko, Mudkip,(hard to come by those with the right nature) Shellder, and Umbreon (because you cant turn and Evee into Umbreon or Espeon right?)

Thanks...the people around here are really nice...glad to be apart of this community *thumbs up*

    Default Poke-c'mon!

    Gengar@Leftovers
    Substitute
    Focus Punch
    Thunderbolt
    Shadow Ball
    EVs: 252 Att, 252 Spd, 6 HP

If no knew, that's the Standard Gengar used on RSBot a lot. It has the Substitute Focus Punch Combo that works well. It has Thunderbolt there for Skarmorys. Shadow Ball is to make use of STAB. Focus Punch is also used to take care of Blisseys. So this is an OU counter taking out the most used OU Pokemon, Skarmory and Blissey.

I usually use Destiny Bond over T-bolt, just to take care of Snorlax.

Anyways, no problem with the codes. If ya need any more, just ask.

    Default Poke-c'mon!

That Gengar I posted is Standard because it takes care of the two most Over Used Pokemon, Skarmory and Blissey. Curselax can be taken out be a Weezing or Skarmory even. Curselax could even be taken out by Focus Punch while he's Cursing if you can time everything in the battle right.
