i guess, but it'd waste a much needed attack spot.
I am playing with the idea of using Recycle. Here is the idea:
Mr.Mime / Chesto Berry
Barrier
Toxic
Recycle
Rest
Basically it uses Barrier first (because of the horrible low Defense), then Toxic and then Rest - Recycle - Rest - Recycle until the opponent is down.
The combo Rest - Recycle heals it always completely. I am not sure if Mr.Mime can survive it. It's Speed is not great and Defense is horrible.
Maybe Porygon would be a better candidate for such an idea? But Porygon learns Recover naturally, can heal completely using it in two turns, and that makes the Rest-Recycle combo useless.
Any comments, thoughts, ideas welcome.

It sounds like a good idea to me, there's just the fact that he can't stand up to many hits. Porygon2 would probably be a better bet, and you could pull off the combo. The only reason that I'm suggesting it is because Rest > Recover cause of status conditions being erased. And, as any tank knows, it saves your @$$ to be able to get health back + get rid of that nasty toxic.
I think it's a good idea, but I think Porygon2 is better for the job.

Ah, I haven't thought about the status condition cure Rest provides. Thanks for the tip.Originally Posted by Rabid_Cow
So, Porygon2 would be indeed better for this task. Now, Porygon is a price in the City with the Casino in FR/LG as far as I know. But where do I get the Upgrade to evolve Porygon into Porygon2?
Does anybody know?

Yes recycle is useful on a Porygon 2
1. Trace, most pokemon have a pokemon power that benifets them but doesn't well if opposed.
2. Attack a Lum berry no more status elements
3. Rest until Recycle's PP is out
4. Conversion 2 or 1, helps to give you type advantages if lucky, especially if your opponent only assign two types of moves.
5. It just is.
If something is wrong, please say so.
Sorry for being off topic, but..
What does Recycle?
What dos Conversion 1 and 2?
Is recyle = Refresh?
I've never heard of the move either ;x
Recycle: if your Pokemon used up a berry or White Herb (that it was holding) in your last turn, it'll get that item back.
Conversion: Converts the user's type to that of a random move in their moveset.
Conversion2: Converts the user's type to something that resists the opponent's last attack.
That's what makes Conversion good for STAB on your attacks. It picks a type from the moves you have makes you that type. Meaning when you use that type attack you'll be getting a cool STAB added on.Originally Posted by Don't Run With Scizors
And, by the way, the type chosen is completely random. So if you're hit with a Normal-type attack, you might become Ghost (Originally Posted by Don't Run With Scizors
) but you might also become Rock-type or Steel-type, with all of them equally likely.

Short answer, no.
Long answer yes, with an if and a but - if your opponent is an idiot, but you might still lose.
The toxic stall set you provided is horribly flawed and easy to counter. Mime just sits there and really provides no offensive threat. Recovering health is good and all, but what is the point if the pokemon can't do anything anyway?
If you use recycle, you will invariably require a recovery attack to make use of it - that is 2 attack slots already: honestly, what can a Porygon2 do with only 2 attack slots? Beambolt? Also, you're better off with pinch berries, particularly starf berry. Besides, pinch berries activate at 25% IIRC and at that health, Pory and Mime die next turn - seeing as how they lack the speed to recover health first.

Why not use it in 2-vs-2, so your partner can Overheat as many times as they want? Something along the lines of
Porygon2@White Herb
Moves
Recycle
Pokemon@nothing (/White Herb if no Item Clause)
Thief/Covet
Overheat
The basic idea being, steal Pory's item, abuse it, grow it back, and abuse it again. Upon further inspection, it appears that no pokemon learns the combo of Overheat + Thief. Too bad. Perhaps in a later game. Or perhaps it's just too uber a concept.
Typhlosion can get Overheat and Covet, but really, would you want to devote two Pokemon to the purpose of launching attacks on just one opponent?
EDIT: On further thought, you can't Recycle an item if it's been stolen.
