    Default Some Moveset Requests

Hi, I'm posting here to request some movesets. Lots of them are probably standard, and I'm sure many of you could recite these standards off the top of your head, but I figured the easiest way to find out was to ask in a new thread.

I'm looking for some good movesets for Huntail, Milotic, Blissey, and Vaporeon. I've got some ideas, sorta.

For Huntail, I... I'm really not sure. I'm debating whether to breed Confuse Ray onto it or not. If anyone could give me some ideas here, that'd be appreciated, since I'd like to breed for one, if breeding is necessary, as soon as possible.

Milotic... I know Milotic's a great Pokemon. The time has come for me to create and use one. I just don't know how to impliment it's strengths fully. Recover or Rest? Surf, Ice Beam..? Mirror Coat? Toxic..? I really don't know here, Milotic is just so open-ended, thanks for any imput.

Blissey, I've heard of lots of good sets. I know I should use Aromatherapy and Softboiled to make it extremely hard to take out, but I don't what goes next. Toxic to stall and take foes out slowly? Counter to destroy some physical attackers who think they can take Blissey out? Seismic toss for steady damage? Ice beam for a nice reliable attack? Or, Thunder Wave? I've haerd of all of those moves being used. Could anyone tell me which is "best," or simply throw a few of those move combinations into different roles for Blissey, so I could choose from there? Thanks.

Ha, I know I'm being a pain in asking this, but I do appreciate your help. Don't worry, if I remember anyone else I'm looking for movesets for, I'll be back

    Thanks everyone!

    Hmmm...

    Huntail
Surf<>Crunch<>Agility/Swift Swim<>Confuse Ray (if it can get it, I'm not sure it can, but I may be mistaken...)

Plan is get fast and confuse them. Simple as that. EV's in Sp. Atk. and Spd.

    Blissey
    Counter<>Seismic Toss<>Softboiled<>Thunderbolt/Flamethrower/Ice Beam

I don't like T-Wave + Counter. T-Wave slows them and adds the chance that they won't attack. Counter returns double the physical damage and goes second. Don't give yourself an advantage, and then not use it.

Milotic - Are you looking for a Toxi-annoyer or a special sweeper?

    Vaporeon
    Haze<>Surf<>Ice Beam<>Rest

Solid hazer + can effectivelly pull off a ChestoRest.

Thanks guys. For Huntail, I'm not looking for a Baton Passing set - I know Gorebyss can do this and can be better at it. I was thinking Toxi-annoyer, thooooough I don't know how well this would work. Dive and Toxic and things like that. Huntail can get Confuse Ray. However, this eel can't get Agility. Think anyone could come up with a better set for him?

For Blissey, I think I'm going to go...

    Softboiled / Aromatherapy / Toxic / Counter

T-Wave and Ice Beam and stuff are nice, too, buuuut I think I might use those some other day. This should be good.

So yeah, now I need a solid Huntail set and a good Toxic Milotic, and I think I'm set. Thanks everyone, and apologies for not replying sooner ;o

    Milotic: Surf----Ice Beam----Confuse Ray----Rest/Toxic @ leftovers (Modest)
    Vaporeon: Haze----Surf----Ice beam----Rest @ Chesto Berry (Dunno)

Blissey needs 252 Defense EV's and a Bold personality to survive a physical move? I mean, I would understand if it won't survive Cross Chop, but I thought it's colossal HP would allow it to survive most blows.

Could anyone please confirm this? It'll help make move choosing and EV distributing easier.

Also, I'm still in need of a good non-BPing Huntail set. Not Gorebyss

Thanks for the Vapo sets, that one seems really popular so I'll go with it. I'll also go with the Toxic Milotic. Anyone else?

Oh yeah, anyone know any good Exeggutor movesets, on top of this? Not from Ruby or Sapphire, but I figured I'd ask on the side.

    Crufidal,

Regarding Milotic - Max up its Special Defense and it fears no type of attack. To my mind that is its main strategy. Mirror Coat does not work very well on it because it takes very low damage from all but the most powerful supereffective special attacks. Confuse Ray is a far better egg move, especially if used with Toxic.

    Two approaches for you:

    Defender from hell:
    Calm (-Attack, +SDef)
    252 Defense, 252 SDef, 6 SAttack
    Recover
    Confuse Ray
    Toxic
    Surf/Dive

    Destroyer of Legends
    Calm or Modest
    252 SDef, 252 SAttack, 6 Defense
    Recover
    Ice Beam
    Surf
HP Grass or Electric (Grass is better)

Thanks Rinku! I knew I could count on you! I think I'm going with the Defender set. Toxic is just nasty, and after fighting my fair share of Milotic in the battle tower, I'm ready to use this cheap strategy.

... I'm also going to take this opportunity and assume there are -no- good sets for Huntail That's okay. I'll outfit it with virtually the same set as Milotic, even though it won't be nearly as effective.

edit : I still need info on Blissey, regarding defense. Could someone possibly perform tests on it's physical resistance? Perhaps see how much damage a strong attack from a relatively powerful attacker would do? Uh, can't think of any good examples right now, sleepy. This is probably asking too much, but I have no method of testing, myself.
~Off-topic : If someone could instruct me in using some "RSBot" thing, or ANY one of those online-battlers (I've been dying to learn how to use one), that would also work. Thanks for your time, anyone.

I could also use some movesets, and rather than do a whole topic.....
Anyway, I need a moveset for Cacturn and Flygon. So far, I want to teach Cacturn Spikes, and Flygon Sandstorm, but apart from that, Earthquake for Flygon....and I have nothing else. Any help would be great.

    ***DISCLAIMER***
The damage calculator I used was built for GSC, so if the damage formula has changed it won't be so accurate, but I don't think it has.

I picked a few random components to form an example:

    Deoxys (Ru/Sa) w/ max Attack stat = 438
    Blissey w/ max Defense stat = 130
    max HP stat = 714

Let's say Deoxys uses Superpower (BP:120, 2x Effective).
Blissey takes between 581 and 683 damage, ie: not enough to OHKO it, but enough to give Blissey a bad case of 'WTF was that?!'.

A fairly unusual example, but it does show how tough Blissey can be.

Blissey's Defense is so bad that natures barely touch it. 130 Def is with a +Def nature, but with a -Def nature it only drops to 107. Not huge.
I don't suggest you go for a -Def nature, +SpAtk/-Atk or +SpDef/-Atk would be far more useful, instead focus on Defense EV's, as these will have a much larger effect.

I don't reccomend having Sandstorm on Flygon. Flygon's strength lies in physical attacks, not using Sandstorm, or any defense whatsoever. As for Cacturne, Spikes is a good start. You could use Sandstorm there, if you're trying to build a Sandstorm team, since it raises Cacturne's evasiveness. Make sure you also take advantage of Cacturne's special attack, with perhaps Needle Arm or Giga Drain. Teeter Dance is another cool option

Thanks TeleFox! I decided on my own that I'm not going to use a +Def nature. Suure, it'll help a little bit, but it won't make a difference. There's only a 10% difference with a benificial personality, so a benificial personality would only help a stat that's already fair. It would be worthless on Blissey, so I'll put those points elsewhere.

Also, I can't believe Blissey is that incredibly durable. I know it's got insane amounts of HP, but to survive a base 120 supereffective attack from one of the hardest hitters in the game? That's impressive. Blissey could just counter it right back, I like that.

    Thanks everyone ;o
