@Leftovers.
I was wondering if someone here could provide a Grumpig moveset. I am making another team to beat the Elites and Grumpig is on it. Here's what I had in mind:
Grumpig @ Choice band
Calm Mind
Psychic
Magic Coat
HP Electric
I was hoping if someone would provide a better set. I've been experimenting with Hidden Power a lot lately. It's a pain in the butt to breed, find a kecleon and it turns out to be the wrong one. Sor far I have only two good HP pokemon. Ampharos has HP Fire and Raichu has HP Water.
So, yeah..what moveset would be food for Grumpig? I heard Bounce wasn't that good on her. I dunno what other set to give it and I put hidden power on her and it turned out to be HP Steel.

I use:
Substitute
Psychic
Psych Up
Shock Wave
@Leftovers
Own Pace
Shock Wave is about the only other non-Psychic special type attack it can learn, unless you get lucky with Hidden Power. Great against the Dark/Water types, not so flash vs the Dark/Grass ones. But you can't have everything. I prefer Psych Up over Calm Mind for two reasons: (1) It's a level up move and (2) more flexible. Psych Up can be used to totally negate the *other* pokémon's Calm Mind, Bulk Up or Curse in one hit, make *you* just as hard to hit and/or restore your ability to hit them.
Has proven a very sweet moveset in Battle Tower.

Well, I got HP-Electric on her baby. I'kll just have to get calm mind somehow. She's also naughty too. Hmm...Naughty pig. Anyway, she'sgonna need some leveling up. Methinks I'll give Bounce to rapidash when FRLG comes.
Thanks for the help!

Naughty is a horrible nature, I would reebreed until you get a Bold, Timid, Modest, or Calm one with HP Special. Also, I wouldn't give Bounce to anyone, it sucks.Originally Posted by Ledian_X

Firstly, don't put Choice Band on a Pokemon who doesn't have Trick in their first slot or a physical attack in the 1st slot.
Well, I looked at his moveset and I gotta admit it, Game freak really gave it the short end of the stick. Personally, he has too little a special moveset to be a special sweeper so I'd go with an annoyer (or tank if you BP some def)
Grumpig@Leftovers
Psychic
Calm Mind
Rest
Reflect/Toxic
Tank set, boost his already good sp def and att, rest when needed, inflict opps w/ toxic or use reflect to cover hsi below average def (I'd persoanlly get a Mr Mime/Gorebyss to BPass a Barrier or Iron Def)
Grumpig@Choice Band
Trick
Torment
Confuse Ray/Magic Coat
Toxic
I ran by this set a while ago, it's pretty effective. Trick the Band onto one of your opps top Pokemon, use Torment meaning they have to struggle every second turn (or switch in which case leaving a top Pokemon benched for most of the battle) and then use Toxic with Confuse Ray, pretty simple, quite effective, but if you get by a physical attack, your gone.
