Hi, well, i've not been here for a while. Last time was around the G/S/C era actually. Anyway, i started to gain intrest again after i was challenged. Then i remembered that i forgot (does that make sense) all he movesets etc. i used to know.

So i'm making a new team. Decided to use Togetic cos no-one else does. And i was thinking of a set to counter common starters.

I thought i'd go with Encore cos most starters use set up moves.

    Togetic@Leftovers
    Ability: ? (i don't think it matters)
Personality: Timid (or something which is + spd)
    - Encore
    - Yawn
    - Safeguard
    - Wish

Encore would be to counter Mean Look etc. (though that's prolly not as common as it used to be). Yawn to make them switch (and hopefully not be seen until nearer the end of the battle, alot of people do tend to do that). Safeguard to ummm.. safeguard... and Wish is for Healing.

Please tell me if that's ok or if i have really lost all my knowledge of pokemon. And any suggestions will be appreciated.

Well, you don't really need Yawn and Encore on the same moveset, as both of them will basically have the same result, making the opponent switch. Stick with Yawn, or you could even go with Toxic. For the pseudopassing move, there could be more benefit from using Reflect or Light Screen instead of Safeguard. Keep Wish on the moveset, and for the other move, you could try a special attack that will take advantage of Togetic's Serene Grace ability, such as Psychic, Flamethrower/Fire Blast, or Water Pulse. If you are going for a +Speed personality, then Timid (+Speed, -Attack) would be the best choice. Another good personality for Togetic is Calm. (+Special Defense, -Attack)

So, here is what the moveset would look like

    Togetic (Serene Grace)

    Yawn/Toxic
    Light Screen/Reflect
    Flamethrower/Fire Blast/Psychic/Water Pulse
    Wish

here's what i would use for togetic. requires tms and such, but it's so much more worth it.

    togetic@kingsrock
    fireblast
    filler
    waterpulse
    psychic
    (modest-serenegrace)
    252sp.atk.,129sp.def.,129def.

it utilizes serene grace. fireblast burns, waterpulse confuses, psychic lowers sp.def, and kingsrock flinches. what more could you ask for?

you haven't lost it. its just things changed from gsc to rs. it gets annoying when converting back and forth between the two, strategy-wise. it's not difficult, though.

    Togetic@Leftovers
    Toxic
    Protect
    Psychic
    Flamethrower
EVs: 252 Sp Def, 129 HP, 129 Def

This Togetic can be a Toxicstaller if that's your style of play and you could use one well or needed one. The Special Attacks are just in there for some power and its Special Attack Base Stat is higher than its Attack Base Stat. Psychic has a good chance of lowering Special Defence thanks to Serene Grace and burn could always happen if you wanted to weaken a Physical Sweeper.
