Alright, Hydra, let's make this nice and simple. Start with a Blizzard, then use a Thunderbolt, and if your "opponent" has broken by that point, finish with a Thunder Wave. If not, finish with an Ice Beam.

It was not a tournament or competition, but spectators still poured into the Indigo Stadium, hoping that this match will sate their appetite for Pokemon battles. On the left side, a Porygon clicks and beeps as it floats in midair. Across from it, an Absol prepares for the first round by swinging her blade around. The whistle is blown and round 1 begins!

Starting off fresh, Angel channels in some of her health to create a small doll only a fraction of her size. But it did not do much good as a decoy, as Hydra had already charged up a massive whirlwind of ice and unleashed it at its opponent. The freezing winds coupled with snow and ice quickly tore the weak substitute into shreds.

Now the Absol glared at the digital bird and for a second, her eyes flickered black. That was all it took to place a curse on the Porygon so that it can never repeat the same attack for the rest of the battle. So far, Hydra did not mind. Its polygonal body crackled with electrical energy and it fired out a powerful bolt of lightning, striking the Absol directly in the chest.

Angel stumbled backwards with a sharp pain where the Thunderbolt struck, but she moved back up and fired a white energy beam that slammed into Hydra. With the random status effect of confusion, Hydra was very disoriented and spun around in the air before slamming itself into the ground from its confusion. That was enough to knock some sense into it. Both Pokemon were still fit and ready to deal out a lot more damage in future rounds.

Hydra tried to do what Angel did in the first round – create a Substitute, except this sub was larger and more convincing that its opponent’s. Now the Absol tried her own ice attack, forming a massive Blizzard and sending the wind and ice flying at the Porygon decoy. But the sub was stronger and able to withstand more damage, even though it was on the verge of breaking by the end of the attack.

As long as the sub stood, Angel could not see her opponent, so she decided to get rid of it with her next attack. A stream of fire spewed from her mouth and burnt the sub to ashes. Now her opponent was revealed, but it had already fired an icy blue beam, slamming into Angel’s side and creating large chunks of ice on her otherwise pristine white fur.

The Absol tried to attack first, but the ice attached to her fur was making it very difficult to move quickly. This gave Hydra another chance to launch an elemental attack. A crackling bolt of lightning shot out and struck the Absol. But the attack blasted away some of the ice on her body as well. Angel retaliated by spitting poisonous liquid, which splattered onto the Porygon’s body and may spell trouble with its lethal side effects.

Angel shook off the rest of the ice from her body before firing a white energy beam at Hydra. But the Porygon quickly set up a protective screen, and as the beam hit the Reflect, it bounced back at Angel. The startled Absol took the damage of her own attack, but it was significantly reduced.

Next, the Absol’s eyes glowed an eerie blue as she looked into the future for the most opportune moment to launch an attack. The Porygon moved towards her and began a series of taunts, but to no avail. Its opponent was too concentrated on the future to take much notice of the Swagger and in the end, it was Hydra who became mad.

Nonetheless, the Porygon generated some poison in his digital body and shot it at the Absol, giving her a taste of her own toxic medicine. Angel definitely did not like how the sticky poison damaged her sleek white coat. She also learned from her past mistake and using her agile body, moved around the Reflect and behind Hydra. With a deep breath, she blasted a stream of flames at her opponent, giving it a surprise and scorching his tail.

Hydra channeled its anger into a powerful force of energy and released it at the Absol. But Angel quickly vanished from sight, barely dodging Porygon’s Frustration attack as she ran behind it and swung her scythe down on its back, giving it a rather nasty gash. But despite this, Hydra had used up so much of its energy that it is now calm and content. Meanwhile, Hydra’s Reflect faded away, no longer of use anymore.

As Angel powered up for an Ice Beam, Hydra’s body crackled with electricity as it readied a Thunderbolt. The icy beam and the lightning bolt were fired at the same time, but they did not collide into each other, passing by instead to hit their targets. Both combatants were knocked backwards, momentarily stunned by the powerful attacks but quickly moving back up to launch another volley.

Angel fired the same beam of ice, but Hydra could not repeat moves and instead, charged and fired a triple beam of fire, lightning, and ice energy. This time, the two attacks slammed into each other in midair, creating a brilliant explosion that damaged both Pokemon. Both were looking tired and weak, but neither were willing to give up.

Attempting a combo attack that will consume a lot of energy, Hydra glowed blue, but also surrounded himself with a strange red aura. As Angel fired an energy beam at the Porygon, Hydra took the damage, but the energy from the attack was sucked in and stored for later use.

The Absol shot out a stream of hot flames from her mouth, engulfing the Porygon in the blazing inferno. Hydra took in the fire energy, but he was becoming extremely fatigued. With a sudden burst of light, he unleashed the pent up energy, which slammed into the Absol with amazing force. She tumbled onto the ground, badly hurt from the impact, but still hung on to a portion of her health.

Now it was the final face-off. Both battle weary Pokemon prepared an Ice attack. Hydra was more tired, but Angel was still shaken from the Bide attack. In the end, both combatants fired their attacks at the same time. A freezing beam of ice shot from the Absol, while a whirlwind of snow and ice ripped through the arena. But another attack was also unleashed – Angel’s Future Sight! With a great boom, the three attacks slammed into their respective targets. As the dust cleared, both Pokemon were lieing on the ground, fainted.

Well, one way or the other, I'm going to evolve Glamdring after this match, so I guess I'll be sending him out to get some experience now. He's my male Charmeleon, by the way.

Starting off anew once more with a fresh batch of Pokemon, a dazzling green Espeon and a fierce Charmeleon materialized onto the arena. Glamdring wasted no time in bearing his teeth and contorting his face so that he looked as threatening as possible. But Angel took no notice as she promptly closed her eyes, before giving off a great burst of light. Glamdring nearly stumbled from the blinding attack, his vision greatly obscured when the attack finished.

Unable to clearly see his target, the reptile tested his luck as he used Flamethrower. But the flames were aimed a bit too high as the Espeon ducked and retaliated with a Toxic attack, successfully splattering across the Charmeleon’s chest.

Angry with his opponent, Glamdring stooped down to aim a little lower, since he was still somewhat blinded. He quickly shot out another burst of fire. Tiana yelped in pain as the Flamethrower scorched her side, but the tiny gem on her forehead glowed blue as she picked up the fire lizard and slammed him hard into the ground.

Wiping his eyes again, the Charmeleon’s vision finally returns back to normal. No doubt he was angry about being poisoned, but he decided to make the best of the situation and channel his status into fighting energy. Glamdring rushed at the Espeon, but before he could make full contact, the shiny Pokemon blocked the attack with a Psychic blast. The blow was lessened and Glamdring was sent reeling back, although Tiana still took some damage.

The green Espeon then used a Double Team, generating four copies. But the Charmeleon was ready for an evasive attack this time and fired a Swift attack, sending several small stars smacking into Tiana’s body while destroying her copies.

Now its payback time for last round’s Toxic attack. Glamdring releases his own poisonous fluid, which successfully splatters against the Espeon’s glimmering coat. Tiana retaliates with another Psychic blast, sending the Charmeleon tumbling backwards in pain.

Glamdring takes a deep breath and releases a massive blast of flames from his throat. But Tiana quickly shoots a blue beam into the atomosphere, causing dark clouds to form. Rain begins to splatter against the ground, but not before the Fire Blast engulfs the Espeon’s body, it’s damage still high and scorching her fur.

Tiana lets the rain cool off her singed skin as her gem glows yellow and an electric orb forms in front of her. Glamdring despises the rain, but ignores it for the moments as he unleashes another Fire Blast. Greatly dampened by the downpour, the fiery attack slams into the Espeon, but the burning sensation is quickly washed away. Now Tiana releases her own powerful attack, Zap Cannon. The electric ball hurtles toward the Charmeleon, who barely had time to dodge it, as it strikes his legs, paralyzing time.

His movement restricted, Glamdring fires another attack in anger. Like the previous Fire Blast, this one was also weakened. Tiana picked him up with a Psychic attack and then slammed him back into the ground, which was now soggy with mud.

Glamdring brushes some of the mud and excess water off his skin, but rain continues to pour down, drenching both combatants even further. The rain seems to calm Tiana slightly, but she remains alert and with a flick of her ears and a glimmer of her gem, she picks up the lizard into the air. Acting fast, the Charmeleon yells harsh and cruel words at the Espeon. Tiana becomes eneraged and finds it hard to concentrate with so many insults bombarding her. The Psychic attack is broken and Glamdring falls on his back in the mud, although he barely suffers any damage.

In her anger, Tiana shouts a few insults of her own at Glamdring. But the Charmeleon roars loudly and slaps his chest like a gorilla, psyching himself up and greatly boosting his strength. He is angered as well, but knows that he will get back at the Espeon for her insults.

Being both paralyzed and poisoned, angered, and having boosted strength, Glamdring’s Façade attack should do some pretty impressive damage. Rushing towards Tiana, he is about to make contact and unleash his rage on his opponent. But suddenly his limbs freeze up, and he staggers and falls onto the Espeon. Both of them tumble onto the ground and come out splattered with mud. Tiana took far less damage than she would have and retaliates with a Psychic blast, knocking the Charmeleon into the ground head-first.

Nearing the end of the match, both Glamdring and Tiana were almost on the same level in terms of health and energy. The Charmeleon roared out another bout of insults at his opponent, although he tried avoiding the ones he had used before. But it did not matter, as the Espeon raised up a shield which was remarkably soundproof and drowned at all the angry words.

Glamdring channeled as much anger as he could into fighting energy, and he ran towards Tiana for a Frustration attack. But the Espeon countered with Flash, and the gem on her forehead burst into a brilliant light. The lizard’s vision went blank as he tripped once more and slid forward. Tiana nimbly jumped aside as the mud-covered Charmeleon passed by.

The Espeon picked up her opponent once more and slammed forcefully him down, the damage slightly increased due to her anger. Glamdring was pretty used to Psychic attacks by now and shook his head, trying to clear his vision. He still could not see anything besides light and shadows, but he turned toward the figure in front of him and charged at it once more. The attack was successful and Tiana fell backwards, but it was not as effective due to Glamdring releasing his anger in the previous Frustration. Both combatants were feeling weak now, not only from their injuries and exhaustion, but also from the mounting poison damage.
