It happened that three unusual equations passed nimbly by. After much careful experimentation with the effects of said equations, the committee decided to forget about predictions and just BS something. He knew something terrible had happened in the basement, but didn't want to go down there for fear of vampires. The vampires flew away to the eternal darkness untill they discoverd that the eternal darness wasn't realy dark. So, he went to sleep in order to regain his energy. When the power company shut off his electricity, all his poor little weed plants died. However, it was resurrected by Ayanami Rei. Rei went to the market rather sadly and exploded. Chunks of meat flew everywhere! Everywhere you looked you saw mashed fish.

Love Linkin Park. Hybrid theory is my favorite album, then followd closley by their EP and then Meteora. Dont like Reanimation, Live in Texas or their jz stuff. Seasons 1 to 8, and then most of 9, was the high point of The Simpsons. From late season 9, when Scully took over, is the time that it got pretty bad all of a sudden. Sure, there are some great gags and lines here and there, but they're spread over seasons 10 to 16, and the bad really outweighs the good.

How did the show become bad? I'd say it was because of the following reasons:

*Groening left to do Futurama.

*Scully took over.

*Most of the older writers left. Sure, some greats like Jon Vitti and John Swartzwelder stayed back, but their scripts were most-likely re-written by the staff writers so much that almost none of the original story stayed in-tact. Come to think of it, John Swartzwelder barely even visits the studio anymore, as he just mails in his scripts from his home.

Okay, so now Al Jean is the showrunner, and Groening is back. But why is it still so bad? Is it because of all the new staff writers? I'd say so... People are saying it's the lack of ideas, but it's not. As long as you have a decent story idea, then a good writing team can help create a script for that small idea where all the characters act in-character, and the plot stays fairly realistic and doesn't go all over the place. Most of the episodes these days start out alright, but midway through the first act, it gets so outlandish that it's a pain to watch the remainder of the episode.

I'm pretty sure most of us still watch the show to see how bad the episode can be, and if any of the episodes can come out as good as the episodes in the golden era (seasons 1 to 9-ish). So far it's come pretty close in some areas, especially in seasons 15 and 16, but it's not perfect. For example, recently, the episode where Millhouse moved away and Bart and Lisa became best friends was excellent, but it was ruined by some of the sub-plot where Homer was pretending to be a bum so he could get change from people on the street, and the ending where the lady from The Jeffersons started dancing. If they just ended the episode where Bart and Lisa were hugging, it would've been a definite almost-solid episode. Oh well, I suppose these almost-soilid episodes are better than the episodes from seasons 10 to 14.

What the? Oh, it was a reply to a Simpsons topic at Penny Arcade. When I make long replies, I tend to do CTRL + A and CTRL + C, just incase Firefox decides to act weird and go back a page, or something like that.
