Doing the contests on Emerald to get the trainer star and I noticed that some of the pokémon not normally available are around as contest opponents (Elekid, Squirtle, Totodile). Didn't think much of it - but then I noticed that they count towards "pokémon seen" on the pokédex! Nifty!

Really? I guess since the Pokemon's picture pops up on the screen during the primary judging, that makes sense... that's good. Now if we could only catch them in Emerald, life would be a heck of a lot easier.

That sounds good but since 386 are available with Pokemon Emerald things like Pokemon Contests and Battle Frontier are much hard than the 202 in Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire.

Good. I didn't get it* for it to be the same or easier as Sapphire!
