My Pokemon of choice will be my Chansey.

Hooray! A challenger! I'll choose my Zangoose, Romuyan, for a battle of the normal types!!

Romuyan, start off with a Taunt...make that Chansey really hate you! Secondly, use a Swords Dance to improve your attack power. Finally, finish off with a Crush Claw.

Chansey, don't let that Taunt try to get to you. Do your hardest to resist getting angered (aka try to cover your ears and close your eyes tightly) as you send off a Toxic at Romuyan, but if you can't, then let her have it by throwing her into one of the trees (hopefully a weak one) with a Seismic Toss.

Then, if you ended up tossing her into a weakened tree, set the tree (and hopefully Romuyan too) with a Flamethrower after, and not during her Swords Dance, if not, use a Psychic to literally squeeze the strength out of her, hopefully making her short of breath from being constricted.

Finally, as she is coming to get you with her claw(s), use a(nother) Psychic to constrict her air passage even more. We definitely want to make her tired early on if possible, Chansey.

Before the battle...

~A cool yet dry wind serves as a precursor for our next battle. Its bereft melody carries us to a tranquil yet ancient forest clearing, surrounded by trees that have indeed stood the tests of time. However, its obvious that the scourge of time have done significant damage to their form indeed, making them from steadfast to fragile to even the slightest touch. Soft moss carpet the ground, much of them making their residence inside trees and logs strewn about, taking advantage at the decay. Our two challengers, both veterans returning back to the TPM Battling league, Weasel Overlord and Knight of Time call out their Pokemon, Romuyan the female Zangoose and a female Chansey respectively. Now, a new test begins - a test of skill as both battlers and their Pokemon see which one remains standing.~

~Romuyan starts verbally abusing and tantalizing her opponent, mocking her chubby and fragile composure. Chansey grasps her ears and shuts her eyes, hoping to brush off the insults, while at the same time gathering up a vicious substance. However, the Zangoose's jeers prevail through, causing the once docile Chansey to spit out her Toxic glob to the side and flare up with a violent passion.

Romuyan, satisfied, spins in a zen-like trance, strengthening her body and soul signficantly. However as she is finished, even she was unable to foresee a psychokinetic grasp on her throat, courtesy of the enraged Chansey. Romuyan is choked out and falls to the ground.

Romuyan picks herself back up and rushes toward the egg Pokemon with her claws outstretched. Again, Chansey stops her in her tracks, clamping down upon her throat and clogging up her passage of fresh air. When the attack was mercifully finished, Romuyan coughed heavily as her breathing was labored.~

No matter, with your opponent's breathing problem, maybe we can take advantage.

Try and use a Psychic to throw her into a tree first.

Now, if you used Psychic successfully, and the tree hit is a weak one, ignite it and Romuyan with a Flamethrower, otherwise, zap her with a good Thunderbolt.

Finally, give her a big (or bigger) shock with a(nother) Thunderbolt.

Okay, Zangoose try to catch your breath. Use a Swagger attack first to confuse Chansey, and maybe we can get an advantage over her.

Next, use an Aerial Ace and make good use of your speed, hopefully before Chansey gets that Psychic in. Finish off with a Double Team to make it even harder for her to hit you.

~Heaving from the last round, Romuyan picks herself up and prepares to face her opponent. However, Chansey is already on the attack, lacing the Zangoose with psychokinetic grasp. Romuyan decides to further degrade the egg Pokemon as much as possible, as she continues to inflict psychological damage. Having had it one too many so early in the match up, the Chansey's judgement was clouded so greatly under blind rage that she lost track of her Psychic concentration, which caused her to break the hold.

Romuyan reached for the high skies and then darted around the ground at top speeds, leaving behind a small trail of dust in her wake. Wanting to destroy her opponent first more than actually finding a suitable target, Chansey fired off a violent stream of electricity where Romuyan was only seconds ago. However, the impact of the attack was strong enough to cause a rather wispy tree to come tumbling down and landing right near the feet of Chansey, shocking out of her frenzy somewhat although she wasn't still out of her taunted status. The Zangoose wasn't nearly as lucky as her feet caught onto one of the branches of the fallen tree, causing her to trip over and fall onto the ground as she was approaching the Chansey.

The Zangoose got to her feet hastily and produced five images surrounding the Chansey, making a total of six Zangooses sneering down at the egg. Chansey took a chance and shot a powerful Thunderbolt at the Romuyan image to her right - only to wail in agony that she only took out merely a replica of the real thing.~

Okay Romuyan, we need to try and do some damage to that Chansey. Start off with a Strength to pick Chansey up and then throw her into the nearest tree.

Secondly, use a Quick Attack to take advantage of your speed and finish things off with a Slash when Chansey is still recovering.

~After I wasted a good half hour or so correcting these ill-fated lyrics *coughinternetlyricscough*, Romuyan the Zangoose was already on the attack, speeding towards her egg-like opponent. Before Romuyan and her images were about to pick up the egg, Chansey lept into the air and plunged hard into the soil, delivering a tremor all across the ground. Romuyan lost her footing and fell flat into the humus. Her images made previously vanished as well.

Meanwhile, as I'm still struggling fixing those fifth and sixth lines, a medium-sized tree branch comes crashing down upon my laptop! Nooooo! I paid good money for that! Well...sort of...>_>

That tree branch is followed by not two, not three, but by several tree branches as well as weak trees tumbling down upon the clearing. One thin tree branch falls upon Chansey's head, brusing it. Nearby, a thin tree crashes onto the exposed back of Romuyan, pinning her down. Fortunately, much of the larger and huskier fauna, despite being shaken up somewhat, still stay intact, and show little sign of uproot.

Romuyan, as a result of being stuck onto the ground, was helpless as she became victim to a series of powerful chops, punches, and blows that resulted with nasty bumps and bruises to the Zangoose's face. The impact of the attack was so powerful, that it accidently demolished the branch into splinters, freeing Romuyan inadvertantly. Romuyan had time to retailliate with a swift kick to the chubby belly of the egg pocket monster.

As she did a mid-air somersault as a result of the Quick Attack, she came back down aiming for a vicious slash on the Egg's chest. At about that same time, Chansey came in for another frontal combo assult. The Slash was overwelmed by the constant follow-up of the Brick Break, beating the Zangoose down into the ground again.~

Damage Caps are 40% HP Damage. There's not really a Damage Cap for Energy, since that can be directly controlled in most cases. The latter may be modified for future matches should fatigue increases get out of whack compared to the damage input.

Chansey, you did very well last round, but we really gotta watch your fatigue meter. Just because we're winning this battle doesn't necessarily mean that we will come out on top, but we have to do our best so that someday you'll be able to evolve.

We need to chill out for most of this round, but safely speaking, we also can't go without doing more damage to your opponent, so if she comes close to you to attack, Brick Break her, but not on your first action (save that for your second or third action, just incase). In the event of any attacks of long range, simply do your best to dodge them if you can.

No, that's not what I mean. For a moment, when I saw Romuyan took 46% damage overall, I thought damage caps needed to be applied (meaning that her HP should have said 46% (Damage Caps)/50%). But I can see that they don't need to be, so I'm completely fine with that.

Chansey, worn down as a result of the vigorous competition, decides to stand aside and take a breather. Romuyan, instead of leaping up and attacking, charges up her attack power as she spins in a zen trance.

The Zangoose then vanishes out of visible sight, causing the Chansey to be perplexed for a moment. Knowing an attack was on her way, Chansey raises her fluffy fists upon instinct as she searches around the area for her opponent. She was caught unawares upon her blind spot as she was struck from the side, causing Chansey to tumble across the tree-strewn field, leaving minor splinters in her back.

Zangoose continues her quick assults upon the egg monster as she begins to dash around the field as high speeds, causing her to vanish out of sight again. Chansey, picking herself up from the last attack, stands her ground once more as the Zangoose - stumbles upon a splintered wood, causing her attack to go awry as well as having some ugly splinters caught in her foot paw.~

~Chansey sits by, still recouperating from the wears of battle. Romuyan takes the oppritunity to shock her foe by throwing a feint. Chansey is startled by this show of imtimidation as she now comes upon the Zangoose with her fluffy paws out once more. Again, Romuyan throws a faux punch to catch her opponent off guard. For a fleeting moment, there were signs of strain upon the pink ball. Nevertheless, Chansey's rage to beat Romuyan senseless took priority and she dealt good damage.

Chansey clamped down upon Romuyan to deliever more blows. However, her attack was cancelled as she ran into a seething purple glob of toxins courtesy of Romuyan. The horrific venom will deteriorate Chansey's health progressively over time.~

~Chansey and Romuyan, each on the opposite sides of the precarious field, took momentary pauses recouperating their lost energy. Romuyan prolongs her break, hoping to recover her strength faster. Chansey exploits this vunerability with a light barrage of punches into the chest, continuing to batter the Zangoose even worse. However, her landing was somewhat akward, causing her right foot to land on fractured bark, causing the fragments to stick.

Romuyan finished biding her time and lunged into Chansey, her claws outstretched with a green hue. Chansey did the same, except her paws However, due to each of their foots being hampered due to the splinters, their lunges were more like frantic hops as each had to struggle along the dangerous terrain. Chansey managed to get a few hits in, but much of her attack was cancelled as Romuyan drained out a good portion of her energy.~

~With what both combatants anticipating as the final round of the matchup, both call out what would look like their final volleys to their wounded yet steadfast Pokemon.

Romuyan, struggles with her splintered foot and dashes rather than blitzes into Chansey. Although the resulting damage would be much less, the fact that the Zangoose hit Chansey's splintered back helped increased its power close to normal levels. The egg takes the blow gratefully.

Romuyan did this again, again struggling and dashing as before. Right before contact, Chansey managed to pull off several strong blows to her brusied stomach and right arm, sucessfully fractuing the bones within them. Chansey stumbled as well due to her splintered foot causing her damage to be cut down, but she still managed to make her mark.

Romuyan the Zangoose stumbled on the splinter-strewn floor, striving to get up without getting pricked by any of the wood chips. She hobbled on her good leg while clutching her newly fractured body. The Zangoose's tail glowed with metallic energy and she sucessfully began arcing upwards towards her opponent. Chansey again threw a Brick Break wanting to null the blow, but unfortunately the egg's footing gave way as Romuyan's tail cludgeoned her for heavy damage on Chansey's bruise, agatating it into a nasty gash.

And I've got good news everyone...I've just saved a whole bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geiko!

Notes:
-Chansey's first Brick Break went in because of Romuyan's fading attempt to pull off an Aerial Ace. Trying to move at mach speeds while one of your feet is splintered in a coarse arena is a struggle.
-The Iron Tail went in unhindered because Romuyan's tail is one of the few areas not beaten down in some sort or fashion. As Chansey was going in for the Brick Break, she stumbled over a loose wood as Romuyan came in for for the hit.
-The chances of a Pokemon being hindered by the terrain is determined by die (1d4 to be exact). 1 and 2 unhindered attacks, 3 is catching splinters or stumbling somewhat, and a 4 is a total trip-over. Splinters in the Pokemon's body cause energy increases and slower execution times due to difficultly using the part in question.

A bit late, but it deserves to be said anyway.

Okay, good work Chansey, we definitely have Romuyan in a tight spot right now.

Whether you win or not, you have definitely exceeded my expectations Chansey despite the fact this arena was trouble ever since the beginning of the battle.

Chill out for the entire round, but if you ever get an opening on your second or third action, Brick Break Romuyan in any bruised or fractured area that would be most sensitive to the move.

~Ughhh...Ughh! As I struggle to figure out why my song stopped all of a sudden, Romuyan inches her way upon the defenseless Chansey, only to overlook a potentially sinewy branch and fall over. She falls upon her newly fractured right arm, causing the Zangoose to cry out in pain. She struggles to get back on her feet, yet Chansey is already upon her, slamming her fists with all her might into her arm and stomach, dealing powerful damage that tosses the Zangoose upon a large tree stump.

Chansey too is heaving from all the injury, pain, and stress and looks up at her foe. Romuyan picks herself up one more time, with her body quivering from all the pain. She stands for one more time...and then finally collapses. We have a victor!

Gee, and I was going toend off the match with the end of the song. Oh well...~

Wow, just before I noticed the reffing was coming up, I had a hunch that a successful Giga Drain from Romuyan might have possibly shifted the battle (and possibly the win too) in Weasel Overlord's favour. No matter, I'm overly surprised I managed to come out on top!

Chansey, you did so well in fighting back while you were under Romuyan's Taunt. I'm real proud of you. I'm not quite ready to evolve you into a Blissey yet, but you have definitely earned the right to evolve once I have enough points for the job.

Weasel Overlord, you and Romuyan did very well too. Thanks for such a great battle. Someday, when we both have some evolved Pokemon (preferably sometime after my Chansey evolves and my Treecko evolves to Grovyle or Sceptile), I'll be glad to battle you again, in a longer battle with more Pokemon on each side.
