Imprison (Humour, one-shot, extremely short)

Yes, it's short, and yes, it was written in ten minutes.


Imprison

The small brown creature zoomed forward, its fur flying back, and tackled the red fox at high speed. She took a few tumbles in the grass, but stood up and shook her head.

“Hey!” she yelled. “That was a Quick Attack! You copycat! It’s MY MOVE!”

The Eevee looked questioningly at her. “I didn’t even know...”

“Excuses!” the Vulpix screamed. “I’ll sue you for copyright infringement!”

And then a yellow rubber duck in a suit that was pretending to be a lawyer appeared out of nowhere and stuck the Eevee into prison for as long as the Vulpix lived.

Heh, it's like one of those quick laughs you'd find in a "101 jokes about ______" book. Only with Pokemon. Very unlike your usually dark material, without a doubt.

I feel kind of odd making a one-line reply to a fic. I'm used to typing about four paragraphs. But I don't want to make the reply longer than the fic.

I'm writing two series of "move fics": one is humour and one is horror. I'm writing the first horror one now, and will most likely write a couple more humour ones.

Lol, that was amusing. And with a touch of black humor, and the whole this-joke-seems-meaningful-but-really-it's-just-random thing. To suit the randomness, two comments: "Imprison" seems too serious as a title to fit the rest of it. But that could be intended, just to surprise readers when they read (although it says humour and all). And the second comment is that I wonder if there are any implications behind "stuck the Eevee into prison for as long as the Vulpix lived." Does it indicate that the Eevee was stuck into prison merely to please the Vulpix? Probably looking too deep into this.

So, my reply is longer than the fic (by fourteen words so far). Better stop now.

It's a joke, Ada. The Vulpix sued the Eevee from copying her move, and put him 'in prison', while the move Imprison prevents opponents from using any moves in the user's moveset. Maybe all move fics could be put on the same thread, then there would be a funny collection for all those who wanted to read them.

I get that it's a joke. It's just that it still sounds like an extremely serious name to use for such a fic. Amusingly misleading (well, for me anyway).
