Hi everyone. I have two slots free, so I'm making an open challenge.

Here are the rules:

Two-on-two battle. We each have four pokemon, but we can have two out at a time.

Banned moves: The standard ones, Rest, Substitute, etc.

DQ time: one week.

You send out first, I attack first.

Arena: Bulbasaur's Secret Garden!

In case you have faulty memories, this hidden place is an enchanted garden where Bulbasaur and Ivysaur go to evolve. It's a beautiful place full of idealic scenery, exotic plantlife, and of course, several Bulbasaur. A single powerful Venusaur is the ruler.

The ref and two trainers walk down the trail to Bulbasaur's Secret Garden, giant old trees surrounding them, and all manner of wild Pokémon watching them pass. They were unafraid, merely curious why these people were headed to the Bulbasaur valley.

The three of them get there and are greeted by the resident Bulbasaur and leader, Venusaur. We explained what we wanted and the Venusaur agreed, so long as we were careful. We set ourselves up in the centre of the field, the wild Pokémon making an audience of sorts.

"Right toe trainers, welcome to the battle of the Secret Garden. If TML would please choose first, it would be appreciated." I said, sitting on the great Venusaur. Nice smell and a great view.

"I'll use Lyra and Drake." she said and tossed a Great Ball and Pokéball. A female Absol appeared along side of a male Charmeleon.

"I chose Blaze, and Lily! Go, my Pokémon! I choose you!" called Dark Sage and he tossed in his two Pokéball's. A male Charmander and female Lotad appeared, ready to battle. Dark Sage then called out his attacks, "Blaze, concentrate on Lyra. First, give her a Focus Punch. Then hit her with Flamethrower, twice! Lily, work on Drake. First use Toxic, then use Water Pulse twice!"

TML then called out her attacks, " Lyra, quickly use Thunder Wave to paralyse him. Then use Double Team and Water Pulse. Drake, Double Team to evade and then use Flamethrower and Aerial Ace."

Drake was the first to start off with setting up a couple of doubles. Lily splat a Toxic glob at him but missed totally. There was still one double left however at the end of her efforts. The other two Pokémon were also setting about their attacks. Blaze was waiting, hoping not to get attacked, but he unfortunately was. Lyra used a Thunder Wave on him and he flinched, unable to use Focus Punch.

The second set had Lyra using a Double Team to try and avoid Blaze's Flamethrower. It worked, but her copies were gone in the next second. The other two Pokémon were firing opposing elements at each other. Lily blasted a Water Pulse at Drake, while he in return used a Flamethrower. The two attacks met in the middle and caused a great load of steam to appear. The Flamethrower was more powerful however and it hit more of Lily then Lily's Water Pulse hit Drake. On the good side his doubles were now all gone

The last set of attacks had Drake fling his arm at Lily for an Aerial Ace attack. The attacks whack into her and she winces in pain. She is still able to fire another Water Pulse at him however and it hits him full on. He reels from both the attack and from his new found Confusion. The other two Pokémon had a similar round of attacks as Drake and Lily as the set before. The same effect happens, and this round comes to an end.

The residents of the Secret Garden are a bit worried about all the fire being blown around but they will let the battle go on for now. The trainers starts their next round of attacks, "Lyra, go at Lily with a quick attack and slash combo. Then hit her with a flamethrower. Drake, concentrate and use dragon rage on Blaze. Then use smokescreen and finally, seismic toss." says TML.

Dark Sage thinks for a bit then orders, "Lily, let's brighten up this place with Sunny Day! Then, hit Lyra with a Solar Beam! Then, hit Lyra again, this time with a Giga Drain! Blaze, you work on Drake. First, use Focus Punch. Then, what works for him will work for you: Smokescreen, then Dragon Rage!"

This round begins with Drake stumbling around like a mad man. He is very confused and hits himself trying to perform Dragon Rage. Blaze takes advantage of this and closes his eyes concentrating before running at Drake and slams him with powerful Focus Punch. Lyra zooms in and slams Lily, and as she starts to fly, slashes her across the head. It causes her lid to slice apart a little. Lily cries out in pain but resolutely calls to the sky and makes the sun shine all the brighter.

Lyra takes a bit of a break from her combined attacks but Lily does not waste any time and powers up a Solarbeam. It charges quickly and she fires it at lily, getting her revenge for her sliced lid. Blaze however it unable to attack as he twitches uncontrollably, falling to the ground. Drake overcomes his confusion for a moment and spews out a dark gaseous matter, obscuring Blaze's vision in particular.

Lyra is now finished her little set between and emits a fiery breath at Lily and she takes it in stride, her part Water saving her from double damage. She retaliates with a Giga Drain, her vision relatively all right, and the Flamethrower showing her to where Lyra is. She sucks some energy from Lyra and feels better for it. Drake grabs Blaze and swings him around and around before letting fly. Blaze skids along the ground, leaving a track of dirt. He gets up, not paralysed for the moment. He tries to use Dragon Rage but is unable to see through the Smokescreen and misses his target.

I was getting a bit concerned with all the fire being thrown around, and I hoped the field wouldn't alight. I had enough of a experience with that with Studdly thank you very much. The trainers seemed unconcerned and ordered their next attacks.

"Okay guys... Switch opponents!" yells Dark Sage "Lily, start by using Double Team! That'll confuse 'em. Then, hit Drake with a Water Pulse - twice! You can try to soak him AND keep him confused! Blast, the sun is still shining, so we're going to put it to good use. First, try Smokescreen again, and hit Lyra with it. Next hit her with a Flamethrower! Finally, give her a shower with a nice Toxic." He adds as an afterthought, "To both of you: If either of them try to use Toxic on YOU, change your current move to Protect." He then gestures to TML to take her turn.

TML thought for a bit then replied, "Lyra, blow away the smoke and hurt him with a Razor Wind. Then battle the Flamethrower with a Water Pulse and use it again against the toxic. Drake, concentrate and use a Flamethrower while spinning to eradicate the clones. Then use your own double team and then use Fire Blast"

Lyra powered up a very quick Razor Wind and flung it at Blast. He took his time breathing out his Smokescreen. Needless to say, it was blown away by Razor Wind. Unfortunately Lyra also blew away Drake's Smokescreen while she was at it. He wasn't hit by the sharp air but just came out annoyed for his efforts. Lily popped out her doubles but Drake, clear headed for the moment, fired a circulating Flamethrower and destroyed all her clones. Hitting her only a little in the process.

Lyra and Blast started up the next round again as they fired opposing elements at each other. Lyra was faster at firing her Water Pulse but Blast's Flamethrower was stronger. They continued to spew their attacks at one another, resulting in a lot of steam rising from where their attacks met. Finally they both stopped and knelt, catching their breath. Each attack barely did any damage to the other. Lily meanwhile fired a Water Pulse at Drake but he created some doubles and was saved from any harm.

This time both Blast and Drake are down for the count, as Blast collapses in a fit of seizures and Drake slams himself with a fist to his head. On the good side he has cleared himself of his confusion, but having hit himself makes his clones dissipate. Lyra takes advantage of Blast's immobility and slams him with a Water Pulse. He slides on the wet grass and continues to twitch. Lily also takes advantage of Drake's confusion and slams him with a Water Pulse. He is drenched head to foot, but not re-confused.

Poor Blast is on the ground, twitching. He would moan if he could, but all that comes out is hiccupping char . . . sound. Drake is none to happy about being soaked with the water attack either. He checks his tail but its fine. Lily is just fine and is glad she could hit Drake so well. Lyra is also okay and is licking her fur as she waits for her trainer's orders. The residences are looking quite interested in the battle. The previous rounds water attacks balanced out all the fire moves and the field is actually slightly damp now.

TML looks at her opponents two Pokémon and decides to go all out offensive, "Lyra, focus on Lily and use Shock Wave, Razor Wind and Faint Attack. Drake, focus on Blast and use Iron Tail, Slash and Dragon Rage. If he uses Double Team, Swift it."

Drake watches Blast for a second but he is still down and twitching. The seizures have not loosened their grip any on him for the moment. Taking at advantage of this he raises his tail, and makes it glow bright silver. He then runs at Blast and slams him hard across the head. Blast it sent head over heals in the air before crashing to the ground. Continuing his hiccupping moans.

Lily meanwhile has split into 4 copies of herself. She glares at Lyra, challenging her to choose the right one. Lyra doesn't bother and let's loose a Shockwave on all the copies of Lily. They disappear as the attack whips through them but Lily is barely hurt.

Poor, poor Blast is still out of it. He lays in the grass, his arms and legs randomly jerking in painful directions. Drake is very pleased with Blast's inability to attack, and raising his arm, deals a very painful slash across the Charmander's belly. Blast opens his mouth to cry out but no sound emerges.

Lily and Lyra are still at odds with one another. Lyra fires a quickly formed Razor Wind and it slices into Lily's skin. She is buffeted by the sharp winds and yelps every time it hits her. When it is done she forms a ball of glowing energy in front of her mouth for a moment before letting fly. It slams into Lyra, and leaves her shivering on the ground.

Drake is disappointed to see his opponent slowly rise to his feet, his paralysis over for the moment. He frowns but quickly fires a beam of reddish pink flame around Blast. Blast groans, to tired to really yell. He gets his revenge for all the beating he has taken and runs at Drake, his claws glowing. He slices into Drake's skin with indigo coloured claws, dealing good damage.

Lyra fades out for a moment and runs at Lily, only a mere shadow of herself. She reappears just in front of Lily and slams her. Lily is sent for a loop, but lands on her feet. She in return fires a Water Pulse at Lyra, hoping to confuse her. She does not, she only makes Lyra now both cold and wet.

Then, take cover, and take a break for the rest of the round.."

"Lyra, attack Lily with a Thunder Wave. Then Protect against the two attacks and finally use Slash on Blast. Drake, Swift on Blast, take a break and then Aerial Ace on Lily "

Lyra comes out first and shocks Lily with a Thunder Wave. It jumps and leaps across the ground, infecting Lily's muscles. It will possibly send her into seizures in the next rounds. Drake is faster then Blast and hits him with a Swift attack before he can send up his clones. Blast sends up his clones after being hit, making there appear to be 5 Charmander's on the field. Lily is the last to use an attack and makes the Sun shine out nice a brightly.

The next round has both of Dark Sage's Pokémon down for the count. They twitch and convulse on the ground, unable to attack. It makes a very strange effect to see 5 Charmander's convulsing. Lyra uselessly puts up a Protect, even though nothing is coming her way. Drake takes the turn off and takes breather, regaining some energy.

Blast is able to stop his seizures this round and sits on the ground, breathing deeply and gaining precious energy back. Lyra comes at him, hoping to strike home. She misses however and Blast looks on, glad for once of his slowness. Drake slices his arm in Lily's direction and the sharpened air hits her for good damage. She is able to retaliate with a Water Pulse, but due to the sun it does not do as much damage.

Lyra starts by powering up a quick Razor Wind. She directs it towards Lily and it slices her all over. She whimpers as it ends and looks on the verge of crying. Drake meanwhile sends a Swift towards Blast. His clones are wiped from existence; he retaliates with a Dragon Rage. He fires a pinkish beam at Lyra. It hits her and does decent damage. Lily is the last and summons a Blizzard. It hits both Lyra and Blast, but deals more damage to Lyra.

The next round has poor Blast down in seizures again; he is really coming to hate those fits. He is twitching on the ground and is unable to avoid the rocks. Drake grabs them with his mind and throws them at him, but no spirit comes to help him. Lyra is relaxing this round, gaining precious energy back. She is grateful she is missed and Lily fires her Water Pulse at Drake. He doesn't appreciate the drenching; no matter it is weaker with the sun out.

This time, Lily is down with a fit, and Drake once again has an easy time of it hitting his target. She is covered in the flames, and they hurt her quite a bit. Lyra meanwhile stops her break to hit the relaxing Blast with a Thunderbolt. He twitches sporadically as she shocks him, but he is almost used to twitching muscles by now.

Unfortunately for Blast he is down for this round with a bout of the twitches. He bounces around on the ground, quite unable to do anything. Lily however quickly sets up his team of doubles. Lyra quickly dispels all of them with a quickly powered Razor Wind and Drake gets an extra hit in with his of sweep of Swifts.

Lyra quickly sweeps in for a good solid hit to Lily, she is able to retaliate with a Blizzard, which does moderate damage to Drake, and even with Lyra moving she does get some damage. Drake and Blast come at one another with their claws dripping with Draconic energy. They both get in good solid hits.

Lily has her turn at a bout of the twitches and is helpless on the floor. Blast looks at his partner with sympathy but sits down for break, even though he isn't in much need of one. Lily is a sitting duck, and both Drake and Lyra grin at one another. They both sweep a paw at the air and get in good solid hits with their attacks.

I don't get how two Aerial Aces, which are supposed to be super effective against Lotad, a quick attack and a razor wind only deal 19% damage to Lily. Care to explain?

Since this battle has reached a halt until the ref answers my opponent's question, I am begging her to answer it.

I can't enter another battle unless one ends, so I want to move along.

I'd like to state something to my opponent, the ref, and the moderators.

My opponent agreed to the terms of this battle, including the one that the DQ limit was one week.

It is her turn to post, and she has not for one week.

I'd like to ask that if The Missing Link does not agree to continue and post her attacks by midnight tonight, that she be disqualifed. She agreed to all the terms, and she now has to abide by them.

I'd also like to state that the ref's decisions are final. She cannot refuse to post simply because she disagrees with them.

It's just a bloody question, not life or death. I don't think it's asking too much of a ref for her reasons for calculating damage that way. She's probably just busy so that's why she hasn't answered in a while

When she explains her reasons, then I will post. Sometimes refs make mistakes with their reffings so I want to be clear that she hasn't made a mistake


Edit: Besides, if Asayake is absent again, it's not like the battle is going to move on anyway
