Default RaZoR LeAf VS Dark Sage: Ref Tsuki

    Open Challenge

    5 vs 5
    1 week DQ

    Banned - Substitute, Rest, Attract
Restrictions - Self Healing Moves can be used once per pokemon

Arena - Beginning on the rooftop of the tallest building in a large bustling city. A square shape with no barrier or wall at the edge. There is a ventilation pipe blowing out steam in one corner, while the roof access door is in the diagonally opposite corner. It's a fine day and the street below are full of people oblivious to what's going on above. The whole city is the battleground, it just starts out on the rooftop. Whoever refs should have a lot of creativity regarding how people and the city will react depending on how the battle goes.

I should warn you I intend to go alll out with this battle, and since you don't have any fully evolved pokemon you may be at a serious disadvantage. I wont post until I know you're ok with this.

Hey, I don't expect to win, but a five-on-five will get a lot of points.

    So bring it on!

Besides, I may not have any fully evolved, but I know how to use what I've got.

Very well, i'll start off with my looking for an evolution Lady Harker, my female Golbat

Ok harker, start off with a Supersonic to disrupt Nuzleaf's sense of direction. Now use Air Cutter to slash it from above and finish off with dropping a Toxic from above.

    I got no objections.

Oak, first use Fake Out on that bat!

    Then, hit him with Extrasensory!

Next, use Protect to avoid the Toxic.

    Up top the Tower

The wind blows gently around a figure, a Trainer, no doubt a Veteran in the world of ASB waits patiently on the very tip top of a skyscraper. His eyes are focused off the edge, staring down at all the oblivious people who are going about their business while he watches from above. But his thoughts are interrupted, her turns slowly, the sound of door slamming shut behind, with no real attempt to keep the noise down.
Not worried, he pays little attention to the other man who has joined him on the roof top.

“I accept your challenge.” The young man states with a confident tone. This causes the Veteran to turn his head, eyeing the young trainer, he then smirks.

“I should warn you…” The Dark Veteran begins, turning completely away from the edge and focusing on the confident trainer. “I intend to go all out this battle, and since you have no fully evolved Pokemon, you may be at a serious disadvantage.”

With an expression of ‘how did you know’ the younger trainer only wipes away his confusion and smirks. “Hey, I don’t expect to win, but a five on five will get a lot of points.” He smiles, gripping a pokeball from his belt. “So bring it on!” With that, the young trainer tossed the red and white ball, which flashed opened to reveal a grass, dark Pokemon known as Nuzleaf. “Besides, I may not have any fully evolved, but I know how to use what I got!”
And with that, his defiant Nuzleaf, nicknamed Oak, let out a call of his name to signal he’s ready.

“Very well, I’ll start off with my looking for an evolution Lady Harker, my female Golbat.” The smirking veteran simply stated, while releasing a mean looking bat Pokemon which took her place by his side.

    Chapter One

The battle kicks off with beautiful Lady Harper preparing to show off her lovely singing voice with a high pitched, and rather irritating Supersonic. Just as she starts to hum the tune of ten thousands and one confusing thoughts, she feels a quick but hard punch to her lower stomach.
Oak, the male Nuzleaf, wants no part of her show, and has actually assaulted the performer with a Fake out. This stuns Lady Harper, and her heart begins to ache with embarrassment as her audience didn’t want anything to do with her performance.

But this does not matter; Lady Harper then flaps her wings, closing her eyes, and then re opening them to cause a sharp blast of wind to hit Oak square in the face, he nearly fall backs, but spring boards off his palms to regain his balance, and goes on with his attack.
He concentrates and fires off a beam of psychic energy, it hits Lady Harper on her stomach, and she flutters, before going back to hovering.

Oh no! The Random effect by Extrasensory has caused Lady Harpers eyes to becoming irritated. They begin to water, causing her vision to become slightly hindered.

Now rather angry at her rude opponent, Lady Harper tries to return the favour. She coughs, and gags, before spewing out a rather yucky purple glob that flies at Oak.

Oak is smiling; he crosses his arms, and watches as the purple glob splats against his protective shield, and drips harmlessly onto the ground. His smile only annoys Lady Harper even more, causing her to grumble before she resides from the first round.

    My move!

Oak, first confuse him with Double Team.

Then, hit him with Shadow Ball!

Next, since it worked so well the first time, use Extrasensory again.

If your clones get demolished and she tries to poison you again, or use a move that causes paralysis, switch to Protect again. We can't have that happening.

Double Team/Shadow Ball/ Extrasensory (Alternate move: Protect)

Tsk, you've just made a fundamental mistake that I would be an idiot not to exploit now, especially with my evil reuptation..

Lady Harker, Whirlwind to blow away the clones, then Toxic x2 to force Nuzleaf into Protecting twice in a row.

Chapter Two: Oh Wholly One, Why did Not Protect Me?

Oak is quick to strike off on the defence this round. As the small grass, dark pokemon concentrates for a few seconds before splitting into four more copies of himself (Counting the Original). The entire group of clones smile, staring endlessly at Lady Harper who seems slightly confused on why there are four annoying Pokemon on the field rather then the original one. But no matter, the fearless heroine goes forth to ruin her enemy’s attempt.
Flapping her wings rapidly, all the Oaks watch as the performer gathers a strong vortex between her wings, before releasing it towards her opponents. The results are rather good on Lady Harper’s side as the vortex whips away all the clones, puts Nuzleaf a bit closer to the edge, and even does some damage.

Rather annoyed, Oak prepares to shoot of a ball of dark nothingness to the Lady in Blue.

But this is halted, Lady Harper begins to gag and cough once more, and just as Oak predicted, she fires off a glob of toxic. Lady Harper sighs, seeing the glob drip harmlessly once more onto the paved ground.

    Snap

That was the sound of RaZoR snapping his fingers once again; Lady Harper attempts a twisted smile much like what was on her trainers face. Oak blinks as the Lady in Blue begins to cough and gag once more, and in his defence, he puts up another shield.

    Or Did he?

The glob flies through the air and smashes up against shield once more. But Oh my god! There are holes in the Shield! Some of the deadly toxins fly threw the holes and splash onto the Nuzleaf’s skin. He grimaces as all he can do is watch the toxins seep into veins and quickly take effect.

Great work Harker, now lets see what we can do without the worry of it trying to Protect itself.

Use Astonish to scare Nuzleaf a little, then use a Whirlwind and Gust combo to blow it off the edge.

    Oak...

Use Faint Attack to try to get behind her and attack from there to screw up her strategy.

Then try the same strategy again. Use Shadow Ball followed by Extrasensory.

If you happen to fall off anyway, switch tactics. Use Mimic to create a Whirlwind of your own to try to land safely, or at least cushion the impact.

Chapter Three: Flap Your Arms, and Flap Them Fast

Lady Harper is off first. Flapping her wings to gain a little height before she flies in with remarkable speed towards Oak, who starts to focus on using a faint attack.
Bad luck seems to follow this poor grass pokemon. Astonish is truly a very speedy move as the Lady in Blue thwacks up against Oak, hitting him quickly square in the face.
Slightly stunned, Oak manages to focus enough to disappear, and then reappear more to the side of the rather confident woman rather then directly behind.

The Nuzleaf shakes his head, attempting to regain his focus. He begins to gather energies of dark nothingness, which quickly begin to appear between his palms.
Lady Harper turns, focusing on her opponent, but to his horrible surprise, Oak releases the awful attack, that flies into her face and explodes!

How Rude! Must of been one of the many thoughts that was crossing poor Lady Harkers mind as she begins to flap her wings briskly, seemingly to create another Whirlwind, but no. She keeps flapping, until the nearly harmless whirlwind has been combined with a nice gust to create a wind funnel.

"Golbat!" she hisses, as she releases it towards her opponent who would've been busy creating an Extrasensory beam if he hadn't have been staring at the terrifying funnel that had been rather quickly formed and flung his way.
"Nuzleaf!" Oak's trainer calls out as he watches hopelessly as the funnel tosses his pokemon around like a toy before throwing him completely off the edge.

"Oops." The veteran smirks, shrugging lightly as his trusty bat pokemon is smiling evilly at his side.

Falling faster then he had ever imagined, Oak's eyes are hopelessly wide as he falls towards the hard ground below.

"If you happen to fall off anyway, switch tactics. Use Mimic to create a Whirlwind of your own to try to land safely, or at least cushion the impact."

Instantly Oak begins mimicking Lady Harpers attack. Even down to the movements. He flaps his arms relentlessly, and to his biggest shock, the whirlwind funnel begins to appear.
In a comical show of determination not to hit the ground and be turned into a pancake. The Nuzleaf flaps his arms faster and harder, until the whirlwind funnel turns into a wind funnel, which is very similar to Lady Harpers.

Only differences being she didn't look like an idiot doing it...

The funnel's base hits the ground, and into a odd turn of events it has managed to soften Oak's landing, but in a awful turn in events, it has turn many things about. Including small children or just naturally short people. Still, Oak hits the ground considerably hard, and gets some decent damage.

Summary of Chapter Three: Flap Your Arms, and Flap Them Fast

    Oak <> Male <> Nuzleaf

Hey, given the choice between looking like an idiot and being turned into street pizza, I'm sure he would have preferred the former.

Oak, she's going to need a minute or two to catch up to you, so take it easy while she does.

Then, when she gets withing range, use Extrasensory again.

When she gets close, use Shadow Punch this time. And we'll see what that does.

It's a pity I banned Substitute. I could have made a clone on top of the building and spent the rest of the round pummeling you. Damn me and my lack of foresight. But that would have been really unfair of me, and I don't want that bad a reputation.

    Chapter Four: 3 + 3 + 1 = 7 Golbats and the Luck of the Draw

The beginning of the battle both trainers and Pokemon have very different strategies. Dark Sage was bounding down the stairs attempting to reach Nuzleaf before anything really horrible happened, by RaZoR was watching his confident Golbat create 3 more copies of herself.

Nuzleaf was having some trouble with the people; they were gathering around him and poking him. Though he was finding it hard to relax, he managed to at least hold himself back from hurting the children who were admiring him.

Again, Lady Harper split into more of herself. Until there was 7 Golbats on the field who all turned to RaZoR leaf and watched him point towards the ground. Immediately they all disappeared over the edge, while RaZoR walked inside in a calm manner, waiting patiently for the elevator to arrive.

Nuzleaf is staring up at the confusing spectacle above him. 7 Golbats now rush down towards him, and all he can find himself doing is picking one and firing off an extrasensory at her.

Lady Harper smiles as the beam shoots through one of her clones. She begins to line up directly with him, her clones right by her side.

“Shadow Punch!” Dark Sage calls madly as he shoves his way through… Automatic doors… But yes! On with the battle!

Oak watches all the Lady in Blues fly towards him, and begin to concentrate all his evil and dark thoughts into his fist… His clenches tighter and tighter…

    Any time now…

In confusion, Oak looked down as his clenched fist. He blinks looking desperately at his trainer for help, but it’s too late!
All of the clones of Lady Harper pull away, until the original is revealed, in a dramatic aerobatic show in the air, Lady Harper twists at exactly the right moment to give Oak a extremely hard beating to his side, causing him to go flying to other side of the street and into a store window, cracking it.

Poor Oak! He manages to get back up, but he’s only faced with a tough choice of 6 Golbats. And just as his trainer manages to catch his breathe, a rather cool RaZoR steps out of the building. Smiling at his success.

Summary of Chapter Four: 3 + 3 + 1 = 7 Golbats and the Luck of the Draw

Notes: Both Pokemon fighting in the street, people are surrounding them.
Both trainers are with their Pokemon.
The dramatic damage caused to Oak is caused from a powered up wing attack, plus his x2 weakness, and hitting a store window.

Ok harker, send out a Supersonic to distract and confuse Oak, and keep all those people off your back too. Now stay up in the air and out of reach, and use Gust to blow Oak and those shards of glass around a bit. Finish off with a Shadow Ball

BTW Tsuki, great reffings, but it's HarKer, not HarPer.

Oak looked like he had been through a war, bruised, and beaten, some glass shards in his feet and arms, he growls menacingly at Lady Harker, summoning fierce air around himself, he smiles and flings it forward, all the Ladies in Blue watch as the sharp air collides with one of their own, before she dissipates into the air.

The Ladies smile sweetly before humming the tune of ten thousand and one confusing thoughts all around the arena. The Crowd grips their ears, and call out horribly as the sound begins to twist their minds.
Thankfully, Pokemon have greater tolerance, though the tune does set off some confusion, Oak is in too much pain from the glass to pay it much mind.

Starting off, the beautiful performer flaps her wings; soon a more devastating funnel starts up, and soon is launched towards the Nuzleaf, who is beaten relentlessly by a funnel fed with glass, which is thrown about at random. Many stick to Oak, causing him extra damage and nasty cuts, while others strike observers, to scream out in pain, and very few fly towards the Lady Harker performers. Causing one clone to disappear.

Fed with rage, and despair, Oak creates a nasty looking orb of complete blackness; he fires it off, causing another fake Lady Harker to vanish.

Laughing like a maniac, Lady Harker reacts fast. Charging a orb of nothingness of her own, and beating her wings once to fire it off at the hopeless, and bloidy Nuzleaf who prepares for the impact.

The sheer explosion from the impact sends our defiant hero Oak flying into the same glass window, which finally gives away, causing Oak to tumble into a Toy store.

Curiously, all the Lady Harkers near the broken window.

    "NUZ!!!"

A psychic beam flies out from behind a rather large stuffed teddy bear, and in an act of sheer luck, bashes into the real Lady Harker. Who cries out in pain as she tumbles back, her clones disappearing as she relentlessly flaps her wings to regain balance.

Oh god. Extrasensory is taking its toll. Lady Harker begins to wobble, her begins to turn upside as her mind is becoming numb with confusion!

    Oak, let's confuse her more!

Use a Double Team of your own!

Then, use Extrasensory one more time.

Then, since I'm allowed one healing move per pokemon, let's use it - use Synthesis.

By the way, according to Chris 2.0, a pokemon is allowed to use any moves that is on the movelist of a previous evolutionary form, so since Synthesis is on Seedot's movelist, a Nuzleaf can use it.

Harker, stop for a moment, Relax and focus, try to get rid of that confusion. Now use Faint Attack to avoid the Extrasensory and finish up by Snatching away the effects of Synthesis.

Chapter Six: Hehehe... Energy? Haha! What's That?

A rather vengeful Oak smiles as he watches his opponent spin around in confusion, even Dark Sage has to smile as RaZoR is trying to keep his cool.

"Lets confuse her more! Double Team!"

Immediately following his trainer's commands, 3 more Oaks appear on the field, and all of them smile gleefully as poor Lady Harker blinks as all the Nuzleaf's are soaking up the moment.
But seeming to read RaZoR's thoughts, Lady Harker begins to breathe heavily, attempting to calm her poor confused mind, which seemingly works, as her mind begins to come together as a whole again.

Becoming tired but still containing energy. Oak, the defiant Nuzleaf, seeming to have a good streak, fires off another extrasensory. It flies towards the blinkingly blankly bat who at the last moments disappears, and then clumsily reappears a bit over the toy store sign, smacking her head on the wall by accident, knocking herself out of confusion.

Disappointed, but not letting down, Oak (and his clones) marches out into the sun. Staring up into its beautiful rays, he begins to chant.

All the while, the loathing Lady Harker proves that she's also very skilled in cult rituals. She to begins to chant, and being that this curse isn't as complicated as turning rays of sun into energy, her flaps her wings once, before watching the Oaks intently.
Oak attention is drawn away for a split second as one of his clones disappear. He smiles, before finishing his chanting, and uses a lot of his energy to begin to heal himself.
His cuts close up, the small amount of glass shards still stuck in him is forced out of his skin, bruises, and otherwise disappear.

Beginning to tire, Oak collapses onto his knees. Though his health is restored, his energy is dwindling.

OK Harker, lets get rid of the clones and hit oak with a widespread Gust. Then drop a Sludge Bomb on oak's head and finish off with an Air Cutter

Subs: If Oak uses Extrasensory, use Torment so he can't keep reusing it all the time.

Oak, relaz for your first move.

Then use Double Team again to renew your Defense.

    Then relax again.

Got to get some energy back.

    Chapter Seven: Damn Civilians

The Civilians that have now been terrorized by the two pokemon in the streets have had just about enough. Some go on their cell phones and begin calling what sounds like animal control! Uh oh!

Oak, who is panting heavily, takes a breather. But is soon pummelled by harsh winds that erase his clones, and some of his health. He only watches angrily as Lady Harker smiles.

Oak begins to stand again, but his lack in energy and the poison in his system are slowing him down. Lady Harker takes her chance and spats a disgusting sludge bomb at her opponent. It Hits dead on, some of the sludge seeps into his skin, thickening the poison in his blood.
Not giving up, Oak waits for the sludge to be gone before summoning 3 more copies of himself. All of which look as tired as he is.

Rather confidant, but also tiring. Lady Harker closes her eyes, and begins to flap her wings, summoning harsh wings that fly from in front of her into one of the Oaks. Who vanish into thin air.

Both Trainers and their trusty pokemon look up the street, sirens are ringing, and cars are pulling out of the way. No doubt that's an ambulance for the hurt spectators, and is probably being fallowed by an Animal Control Vehicle.

Then, turn the negative into a positive... use Facade... twice!

And what's Animal Control going to do? Pokemon aren't animals...

    Chapter Eight: Empress of Cruelty

Lady Harker and RaZoR simply watch in amusement as Oak again splits into 3 more copies. Creating a total of 6 Nuzleafs on the field.
The Lady in Blue looks over at her trainer, who shrugs with a smile on his face. The bat signifies that she understands by calling out her name twice before going to work.

She begins to flap her wings much like before, and soon enough, she blows away her opponents entire defensive play. Oak can only grimace.

Oak growls, his fist quickly turning white with status energy, he rushed towards Lady Harker, who flies a bit upwards, in fact, she only flies enough to be just out of Oaks reach, who desperately tries to leap, and strike her, but fails.
He falls, but his usually able to land jump is turned into a tumble when he is struck in the back with a fierce air cutter.

Panting, and slowly lifting himself to his feet, Oak turns around. Facing his evil opponent who is smiling. His fist once again begins to glow, he desperately attempts to run, but his tired state is starting to affect his movements, he barely is able to jump, let alone reach the laughing Lady Harker who simply repeats her strategy by striking his opponent in the back with another air cutter.

Cruelly, Lady Harker smiles an Oak crashes to the ground, lying there for a moment, the poison zapping even more life from him. Leaving Oak lying on the ground, in despair, and in agony. But still, Oak manages to lift himself so he's sitting on his knees, blood dripping from his bad, and scratches on his front.

Oak is very weak, but still able to somehow battle.

You know, when I evolved Lady harker into a Crobat, I was going to change her nickname to 'Vampiress'. Now I think she'd prefer it if I kept the name 'Empress of Cruelty'. So thanks Crobat will be named by you Tsuki. Also, you've done a fantastic job reffing this arena!

Ok Harker, stay out of Oak's way, perch yourself on a window ledge and Relax. If it looks like Oak hasn't fainted from poison damage by the end of the round, then throw down an Air Cutter or two.
