Default Elite Four is so easy.

I beat it with three Pokemon, BlazikenL64, GareviorL65, and KyogreL57. I OHKOed all but one (level 51 Dusclops, I used Gardevior's Psychic, it used Confuse Ray, I used Psychic again. It got to the yellow in one hit.) of the Pokemon. I destroyed Sydney, Glacia, and Drake all in one hit.

Those are pretty high level pokemon you had to fight the elitefour.

When I speeded through the game with pretty much no extra training (which you probably did), my pokemon (all six) were level 42, and they needed a couple more levels before I even had a cnahce at beating the elite four.

I don't like training in the wild so much. That's just me. :/

This is the easiest Elite 4 yet. The ones in RBY were so hard. As were those Gym Leaders. Trainer battle wise, R/S has been the easiest yet. Puzzle wise, well, that's a whole different story ~.~

What? It's GSC e4 that is the easiest.

Not hardly, it's possible to go through the Elite 4 now with one Kyogre or one Groudon at a high enough level, My friend went through it with Kyogre with Earthquake, Thunder, Surf, and Ice Beam, Using One Revive, and One Hyper Potion, and I went through it using Swampert, Blaziken, and Groudon. It's certainly easier than GSC, and WAY easier than RBY.

I don't judge the difficulty of a game by how cheap people want to be. I battled the E4 with 3 pokes(by the end they were...) lvl 45 Camerupt, 54 Swampert, 50 Manectric and they were pretty hard. Thank god I have strategy

*points at self* I went through the Elite 4 once with just Groudon myself to see how far I could get without using any other Pokemon. My estimate? 3rd person or so. In actuality? He ended up getting rid of all of them with a couple of Ethers. ^.^

By how cheap people want to be? I'm confused by what you mean by that. I'm wondering how using somehting that is in the game, legally is cheap. I don't use Legendaries in Link Battle, because it takes some of the fun out of it, but there certainly is no strategy lost. And it's no fun to Strategize against an AI that auto uses Full Restores constantly. I went through theElite 4 with Groudon the first time, to open up the rest of the areas. Now, when i need Exp, I just go through it with whatever I wanna level up. Before going to the Elite 4, I made sure all of my Pokemon were on at least Level 55. I only used Groudon where he'd be Super Effective, like against the grasses, and the ice and waters. Blaiken handeled Sidney single-handedly, I let Sceptile take care of his suprise Sharpedo. Swampert made quick work of Drake with Ice Beams. And wonderful effort by Swampert, Blaziken, and Groudon made Steven wish he had never said, "Bring it" Using a Legendary doens't involve any less strategy than using a regular pokemon, it just makes it a little easier in a trainer battle on the game. People who believe Legendaries are cheap are those who can't think of ways to beat them. Metagross si certainly not legendary, but he can hold his own with practically any pokemon.

I've always torn through the Elite Four, in R/S, G/S/C, but I had a little trouble in R/B/Y. I've always leveled my starter up to SUPER high levels, and ripped the Elite Four up. I remember on my first time I got to the Elite Four in R/B/Y, I got to Lance, and his Dragonite was beating me silly. I wasted my Master Ball trying to stop it. XD I beat Red's whole team in Silver with one Pokemon, a level 72 Fertaligatr, I believe. Took his Pikachu down in one hit. ;D

I myself had a bit of trouble with the E4. In GSC they were so easy that I didn't bother to train my pokemon to high levels. My strongest pokemon was Swampert Lv. 52, all the other ones were levels 45-49. I had the most trouble with Drake. I wasn't prepared for dragons (no ice beam). Those full restores can really get on your nerves. Well, now they're no problem at all though.

Very well put, VaporousPhoenix. No strategy is lost when using Legendaries, and I enjoy having Latios and Groudon superglued to my roster. Sure, they make things easy, but if you're having a tough time, maybe they could help? I use Latios because his mix of types makes him highly effective in combat. Would I use him if there was a better Dragon/Psychic? Maybe, maybe not. It's like Karen said: "Strong Pokemon. Weak Pokemon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled trainers should try to win with their favorites." Well, Latios is one of MY favorites, and if you're too proud to use legends in link battle, then you have only yourself to blame if a can of whup@$$ is unleashed on you by one. Semper fi!

i did use Kyogre to get through the first time but that was only so i could get access to more of the game and more training opportunities etc.....
.....i wont be using a legendary again in the elite 4

I can hold my own against legendaries thank you very much. And I don't like beating the entire Elite 4 with a Kyogre at lvl 45-50 singehandedly is making it "a little easier" seems to be ALOT easier if you ask me. I beat the E4 with 3 pokemon under 45 so it provided alot more challenge and I probably felt more accomplishment than anyone that just whipped through the elite 4 with a Groudon or Kyogre which has been stated several times to be able to sweep through all the elite 4 pokemon singlehandedly. I myself prefer to have a well balanced team that consists of non-00b3r pokemon as it provides more of a challenge than many of the teams I've seen.

Honestly, I think the R/S Elite Four are fair. They're hard, but not brutally so. I beat them the first time around using 5 Pokemon ranging from lvl 50-52. No extra training was in there, I just fought every single guy I saw. I ended up using a few Hyper Potions, one or two Revives, but I think that was it.

As for G/S/C, they were really easy, but I think that it's more because of their lvls than anything else.

R/B was actually not that hard. I think everyone's forgotten how much better the Elite Four got come Yellow, especially Agatha. They didn't just throw out random attacks, like Dream Eater when you weren't asleep. They had strategy now, and that alone made them much more difficult. Also, their movesets got better, and you cannot forget how much better Hyper Beam was then. If it KO'd the Pokemon, it didn't have to recharge, meaning it was a devastating, poweful finishing blow that could be used over and over again. If my memory is correct, every single one of Lance's guys had Hyper Beam.

EDIT: Plus, when he mentioned 'cheap', or whatever it was (too lazy to check), I think he meant more your lvls than your actual Pokemon. If you have a ten level superiority over the Elite Four, then obviously they'll be easy. And Omega Red, way to quote Karen.

You just contradicted yourself. First you say strong/weak is only a selfish perception of people and then you go on to say that its my fault I'd get my @$$ wooped by them because I don't use legendaries. You imply that I need a legendary in my team and if I don't then I'd lose. Curse my pride I will never be able to win a pokemon battle!

Like I said, I don't use Legendaries in my own team, but I did it the first time through to open the rest of the area. I found plenty of accomplishment in defeating the Elite 4 using a legendary. The team I'm working on right now contains only a couple Overused, and a good amount of underused. I play with my favorites. If my favorite ever one day happens to be a legendary, I'll use it, if my favorite ever becomes something like Azumaril, I'l use it. But it's not cheap, to use something in the game if it's in the game legally. I have taken out plenty of Legandaries with Non-legedaries. IN fact, most of the pokemon with the higest stats in each respective field, are in fact, NOn-Legendaries. Highest Defense, Shuckle I believe, unless something new took it's place, HIghest Speed, Ninjask, Highest Attack, Slakking, HIghest HP, Blissey, HIghest Spec. D , Shuckle I believe, I'm not sure who has the higest Base Special Attack.

Not to nitpick or anything Magna, but Omega Red said 'if'. Which may or may not mean that Legendaries aren't necessary, but are indeed quite powerful.

And Vaporous, those Pokemon may indeed have very high stats, but they come at a severe disadvantage somewhere else, usually another stat. Legendaries have all high stats. Their stats are either high, or very high. So, yeah.

EDIT: I just checked, and Mewtwo, Deoxys, and Kyogre are way ahead of the rest of them in terms of Special Attack. Next in line, some distance down, is I believe Alakazam (after I saw how high those legendaries were, I didn't pay too much attention to the rest). Oh, and keep in mind that guys like Zapdos also have terribly high Special Attack. So the legendaries appear to have that stat all wrapped up.

but you do notice that those pokemon have horrible side effects(unlike most legendaries which are usually well balanced stat-wise but higher than other pokemon). Blissey has base 10(IIRC) of every other stat and Shuckle was just horrible in every other stat as well. Slaking can only attack every other turn. With the pokemon with these high end SINGLE stat there is a side-effect to using them. Most 00b3r legendaries have little to no side effect and just require alot of skill to defeat or by using your own 00b3rs.

I beat the Elite 4 with just Lv. 52 Blaziken and Groudon. My main gripe isn't about how easy it is, it's how little exp. the Elite4 give.

I think you get roughly 60k exp and 60k money each run in the elite 4 so I guess its pretty balanced money->exp wise

When I got through the E4 the highest pokemon I had was a lv 50 swampert. 3 were in the 40's and two were in the 30's. I used some 19 hyper potions and 8 revives, but I did it with no legendaries so I'm proud of my accomplishment

All I needed was my Lv.53 Kyogre, who had:

    @ Leftovers
    Body Slam
    Surf
    Ice Beam
    Thunder

What is wrong with using legendaries?

You have to work hard to get them so why is it bad to use them?

True it makes stuff easier but I don't really mind because I get all my legendaries right at the end of the game.
