    Default Question for coordinators

Ok this is an idea we have had for a while now, to hopefully implement by around June 06. We are hoping to launch The Grand Festival, which is sort of a league/tournament for corodinators. Obviously the details are going to be kept secret so's not to spoil it, but it would be something of a bigger-sized contest, with equal emphasis on appeals and battles.

To enter the Grand Festival you would need one ribbon, so by the time we get to June 06 we would have 10 competetors. By that logic, anyone who currently has a ribbon is automatically entered into the GF. The prize would be a point prize, a ribbon and a trophy for your sig.

So what do people think? Would you like to see it?

Of course I would like to see it! Even if I don't get a ribbon by then, it would still be interesting to watch. Also, it would have to be a yearly thing, assuming it goes okay. It could be very fun.

I've got a tourney idea

A big, massive, ultrahue, freaking awsome FFA(free for all). Open up a tourney, accept sign ups for a week(or 2) and then let everyone brawl it out. Good way to check who's active. If you guys are overrun you could split the arena into more pieces. All attacks and pokémon are sent to the ref (of the particular piece).

If the arena will be devided into pieces the final round will consist of whoever won in their piece in the state they are currently in.

Hope you guys understand what I mean. I'm a bit lightheaded from the medication I'm taking (a stomach flu).

That tournament just sounds awfully cluttered, and finding a referee for such a battle would be quite difficult, I imagine.

As for choicing starters... here we goes:

My first four pokémon were Squirtle, Charmander, Dratini, and Eevee (which would've evolved into an Umbreon). At the time, I couldn't find the time to train Eevee, so I traded him for my Snorlax. The reason I chose the former three was because in every incarnation of ASB, those were my starters.

Psyduck was chosen because I like Golduck a lot for some reason; Metagross because of the type-set, as well as his purely robotic physique. Then, because I had a Dragonair and a Metagross, I just had to have the complete set; hence, my Larvitar (soon to be Tyranitar) and Bagon (soon to be Salamence).

Aipom was an impulse capture really; I liked his movepool, and the fact that he's very agile doesn't hurt either. My Umbreon came back; revived the old dog from Olde ASB (back when he was just Fenrir). Treecko (which'll evolve into Grovyle) just because Grovyle looks so effin' cool. Haunter because I needed a Poison and Ghost type, and Haunter seemed to fit (plus, he can levitate and disappear too - very useful).

Heracross and Skarmory are just nice pokémon to have; you don't need to train them really, and they're quite powerul when in the right hands. Electrike was mainly because I needed an Electric type, so I elected for a random pokémon via the egg center.

I'm very tempted to catch a Porygon (for Porygon2) just because it's so cool, as well as a Phanpy, partly for originality, partly because I need a Ground type.

Hmmm, new captures? Well that will happen AFTER I evolved my pokémon to their second (and most of the times last) stage. Let's see new captures. I am tempted to 2 pokémon right now, kabuto and ledyba. Why?

Kabutops is a prehistoric scyther (in my eyes) and I'd love to fight with a blade pokémon

Ledian just looks cool and I'm in need of a flying type anyway.

Don't know who I'll catch first butI'm guessing ledyba.

Ps I'm a big fan of UU pokémon (except for my ghastly probably) and GSC pokés. So you'll never see me own a sableye unless I own every single GSC pokémon...

I've been considering a Porygon too, I hand one in the old ASB to honour my original user name (PorygonX if anyone remembers) and it has a wide movepool. I've also been thinking about a Lileep/Cradilly. It seems to have a good variety of moves, and a good type pairing as well. I'm also thinking of trading/selling my Gligar, who doesn't get very much battle time, and due to his massive ice weakness, hasn't proven to be that good in battle when compared to other ground types.

Hmm, when it comes to getting any new Pokemon on my team, that's a bit of a tough question now.

At this moment, my main priority is getting my Houndour, Feebas and Treecko to evolve, but later on I might consider getting a male Cyndaquil. Knowing that the entire Cyndaquil family can get Blast Burn, it would definitely be a favourite move of mine to use if I had a Typhlosion in battle that was about to faint from low HP and/or energy.

In fact, that reminds me, I have a question for you guys.

When you're in any kind of battle where you can send out another Pokemon after your current one faints, do you ever have the Pokemon use a high damaging move that causes a lot of fatigue (e.g. Hyper Beam) as a last resort, despite the cheapness?

For me, I can't help doing it. I don't mean to be a cheap opponent at times, but my way to go is battling a little harder when a Pokemon of mine is about to fall in battle, so I try to not hold back in any battles.

I think it is only logic that you try to do as much damage as possible. Go out with a bang and all. Will also make it easier for your next pokémon.

Also when you made an opponents monster faint and he sends out his next, what will you do in that situation? I'll probably try to inflict as much status problems as possible (toxic, thunder wave, frozen, burned)

I try not to, because its easy for your foe to use flash to blind you, or protect from said uber attack. Although Tanqua did just use a spectacular hydro cannon...

Anyway I like to end by leech seeding, toxicing, spiting, or some way which will hinder my foe and soften them up for my next Pokemon.

With the new rules we can have 4 matches but it also states that a match needs to be atleast 10 round.

In a 1on1 It is very likely that you won't get to 10 rounds. So is this rule only used for timed matches or for all kind of matches?

Also why not just ban them?

It applies to any matches that are over after a specific round duration. We didn't want to ban them completely because theyre quite fun - the objective is to survive those rounds, not defeat your opponent necessarily. So we've kept them in.

My starters were Houndour, Growlithe, Dratini and Zangoose. Houndour is my favouritist pokemon ever, along with Growlithe...yes, there is a slight trend of fire doggies here...my favourite type is fire and dark and Houndour fulfils that! Dratini, well, Dragonite is a lovely dragon type and it has a lovely versatile movesetting.

Zangoose I gained a love for in my last playing on Ruby...it has nice high power moves along with a nice selection of elemental moves too.

As for the last topic, I'd have the pokemon who's about to faint use a status move like burn preferably, or toxic. Something that'll make it easier for my next pokemon to take it out.

I love the festival idea too! Contests are surprisingly addictive, whether you win or lose...*grins*

Muah! My team is nearing completion. Anyway, with four new pokémon and four new nicknames, I should probably express the reasonings behind them. Here goes:

Terra is a nice, earth-y sounding name, so it would seem to fit a cute 'widdle phanpy very well. A name change may have to take place when she evolves into a donphan.

Sonja is difficult. I had a Meganium back in the day named Sonja, so I really wanted her legacy to live on. Thus, I named my butterfree after her.

Quezecoatl is an ancient Aztek god shaped like a bird/snake hybrid. Plus, in Castlevania: DoS, there was a tier-2 enemy with the same name; he was a rocky-looking snake, so I thought it would be well suited for my onix (soon steelix).

Rouge means "red", in French. A shiny sneasel is kind of red looking, so it fits. Her sub-name, "ange de la mort", is also French, meaning "angel of death". So putting them together, you get "red, angel of death". Wewt!

But enough of that; I think that there should be an AIM or/and MSN chat modeled after the C3. It's general purpose could serve as a quicker, more convenient variation to this place. Housing general discussions and what-not. However, this place would still be better for more broad discussions, like team analysis and all that jazz. Bu' that's jus' me.

I just got some new Pokemon as well, so I guess I'll follow The Arbiter's lead.

The New Age Retro Hippie (male Omanyte) - the name has absolutely nothing to do with the Pokemon. It's one of the greatest enemies in EarthBound, though, and since Mother 3's release is imminent, it is time for celebration.

The Incredible Drivy Finn (female Kabuto) - The Incredible Drivy Finn is a creature from a game called SkullMonkeys (the sequel to a great game called The NeverhoOd), and you hold onto its back as it swims around. It's a great-sounding name.

Universe Man (male Poliwag) - I have Triangle Man. Now I just need Person Man and Particle Man.

Heh, I got a new pokemon too! *beams*

Pixie (male shiny Mantine) - I do have a reason for calling this fella such a girly name! I saw the Pixies (geddit!?) at LeedsFest last year *beams* and as their background, they had a HUGE manta ray! Hence, Mantine=Pixie! ^^ And I just love this guy's likkle Remoraid under his fin! It's just adorable!! Although not many other people seem to like Mantines...

I think the next on my catch list might actually be a Remoraid too...just for the novelty of having an Octillery! They're pretty cool...although I might concentrate my endeavours on evolving my team...

As a second catch thought, I'd quite like to own another under-used pokemon, but I can't think of one right now...perhaps a Ground or Rock type...like Anorith or an Electric type like Jolteon! *huggles Jolteons* I wub them!! ^^

Name explanation/reasons for choosing starters... all of which are pretty much no-brainers:

Saturday, male Eevee - I would've named this little bugger Sam Vimes if I thought I could've gotten away with it. Fortunately (or unfortunately) sense intervened and he became Saturday, an evolution of Baron Samedi (the leader of the Ghede, Voodoo death/fertility gods). Samedi in English is Saturday. And Eevee... well... because I want a Flareon. ^____^

Tatsunosuke, male Mareep - Tatsunosuke is a character from the anime Peace Maker Kurogane. His name translated can mean 'Dragon Boy': the tatsu is the same tatsu in Tattsu (Horsea's Japanese name) and Tatsubei (Bagon's Japanese name). A long long LOOOONG while later when I actually take part in some battles and get some points, I'm hoping Tatsunosuke will evolve into an Ampharos, which in Japanese is a Denryuu (thunder dragon).
I picked Mareep because I missed using one and was so royally pissed off when I found out it wasn't available (unless traded) in Crystal, Ruby, or Sapphire. Besides, it's fluffy!

    Bianca (Castafiore), female Chikorita - Bianca Castafiore is this rather large-bodied and full-voiced opera singer from the Tintin comics. I'm a closet Tintinophile. ^^;
Chikorita was chosen because it's the pokemon I derived my first screenname from back in the old days.

Tryphon (Tournesol), male Seel - Again with the Tintin references, Tryphon Tournesol is the original French name of Professor Cuthbert Calculus. Calculus is the innocent, unassuming, easily-confused type (in addition to being deaf...) and for some reason I associate these characteristics with Seel pokemon.
I chose Seel because of the dim possibility of eventually evolving it into a Dewgong.

PS: TheBlueAvenger, I *loved* The NeverhoOd. (despite getting stuck and dying many, many times) I never knew there was a sequel to it! *is way, way out of things*

The sequel was on the PSX... unfortunately, for that reason, I never got to play it >_< It was a platformer as opposed to a puzzle game, but I understand it was still pretty good.

Also, the fact that you have Tintin names makes you immediately awesome. You need a Plusle and Minun named Thomson and Thompson. ^_^

Ok, so does anybody have a custom arena? I can safely say I know of quite a few people who do, hehe. So how about we have a good natter about our arenas and what theyre like?

I recently chose Goldenrod City as my arena, and I would accept no less than a 3-3 in it generally. It's a wide, spacious area, with such places like the Monorail Tracks, the Department Store, The Aquarium and The Casino exploreable. I also have plans to explore the Art Gallery (with secret passages!), The Abandoned Team Rocket Base (old secrecy tricks and traps aplenty), the Underground Tunnel (Watch out for speeding bikers! There's also a nasty fume of toxic waste hovering around the area...) and even the old Radio Tower (start at the top: every two rounds the floor gives way - will you survive the 10% fall or waste a turn running down the steps?)

    :|

    Yea it's complex.

Yero Thropp caught one before I did.

Anyway, concerning arenas... I have a few that I like to use. There's the Submarine (from Viewtiful Joe) - every few rounds, Another Joe or Another Six Machine will arrive and attack the Pokemon. The Mercury Lighthouse and the Tolbi-Bound Ship (Golden Sun) look like they'll be fun.

But if I have a signature arena, it'll probably be something concerning Happy-Happy Village (from EarthBound)... best town in the entire game.

I'm in the delvelopment stages or an arena, details to come once I have time to wonder about it...heh. Not to do a drastic topic change, but I just have to know 2 things. 1. Over the years of ASB who was your favorite and hated mods..? Personally I disliked Impereon on his suppose invinciblity with his crazy sigs..also he was an ass.Favorite Mod..well...the 2 now are nice...I suppose..^_^. 2. Through the many changes in ASB, what were the Best and Worst times? The best was when I 1st join a long time ago..when all you needed was a team of six with 1 sig for each if you wanted...thats it, worst would have to be the separate leagues in 1 and money system. Wasn't 1 on the leagues called Crimson and...something else...Anyone remember? Thats my 2 cents

Anyone who says they don't like the current mods has all their privalges taken away from them. heh Heh. I never really treated any of the ASB mods differently, certainly not in any battles, when I first joined ASB, it was ASHarris, TML and Charizard04621 (and someone else maybe? I'm not sure). They were all great mods, who kept ontop of everything.

Arenas, i'm starting to like places where you can go anywhere. Like the City my current match is taking place in, similar to Chris2.0's Goldenrod. You start at one place, but then you go whever your imagination will take you. I think in the future, I'll set a battle in Hyrule, where there are Temples and dungeons a plenety to visit and battle in.

[color=#cccccc]My favorite Moderator (aside from RL and 2.0 </brownnose>) would have to be The Arbiter back in the 2001 era. Yeah, he was awesome with his super-l337 Umbreon!

Er... yeah. It was actually ditto_pokefreak... because he introduced us to ASB.

    And as for arenas:

    the Lake of Rage
A peaceful body of water located in the Johto region. The clouds in the sky haven't left in forever, which is why they sometimes refer to this place as "the lake of eternal rain". The rain fall is pretty heavy, and any attempts to alter it will fail. The battle takes place primarily on the fields closest to the placid lake, however, if requested, the pokémon can dive into the water and do battle there. However, it is warned that the eight pokémon won't be the only ones present. At the very bottom of the lake rests a red gyarados. If someone inadvertently attacks him, he will wake up in a foul mood and begin shooting attacks haphazardly. At that point, it would be best to either retreat back to the field, or combine your talents and battle the gyarados. Using water-element pokémon for this battle is highly recommended, but it's not entirely necessary, as there are some adept swimmers of other elements (dragonair). Using electric attacks in the water is not advised, as it will surge throughout the lake causing damage to everyone.

I'm thinking about starting a battlefield similar to Halo's Bloodgulch. The main idea would be to defeat your opponent's, however, that's not all. There'd be a subquest involving beacons, too. The idea is that if your team's beacon is lit, your team will be healed 5% health each round as well as causing 5% damage to your opponents. However, the other team will also have such a beacon, therefore negating the effects. To gain advantage over your foes, you'd have to destroy their becon. That's all I have right now, though.

I don't like ether you or Chris. LOL now you guys are some of the best we have had so far, asides from Rebecca of course....

And speaking of ASHarris, TML and Charizard04621 that's odd that's right about the time I joined as well Dan, wowever I did not really enjoy it much do to both being new and my past experience with a nother Rpg type thing, true the ASB has nothing to do with any RPGs but you know....

Anyways my arena I been toying with the Idea of a using a Spanish galleon that's always in fog, sort of like the monster from Ivy lake...

BTW Dan thanks your fic has given me a few Ideas for the plot of my one story namely the story of the tryforce and the Subrosians, no my story has nothing to do with the LOZ but it dose use a tryforce of sorts and there is one Charter of my fic who runs around in a Red hooded robe much like a Subrosian dose, but he has a different reason for doing so, you well see a bit of him in Vs Magcargo later today. </end shamful ad>

It's Rebecca, Charles. Gotta add another 'c'

My signature arena is the Spirit Gym, which I created when I was a Gym Leader. I don't use it much anymore - in fact, I think I only used it once after the new system began

    The Spirit Gym

Set high in the sky (although low enough for the trainers and Pokemon to get oxygen), it's a normal dirt arena but with a steel bottom, still perfect for ground Pokemon. Everything looks normal except a small upraised pool for water Pokemon is off to the side and the ends of the arena are sloped (like steep skating ramps). Above the arena are two clouds, one at each end. If a Pokemon that knows rollout gains enough momentum to get up into the sky using the slopes, it can land on the cloud and stay there for 1 whole round. After that, the cloud will disappear and the Pokemon will have to find a way to get down, unless a flier or teleporter is on the cloud. The cloud will be inactive for another round until it materializes once more (this is exactly like the clouds from SSB if you're confused). The only other thing that's worth mentioning is that if a Pokemon falls off of the arena, one of the clouds will save it but the Pokemon will receive 10% damage

Not exactly the most original idea for a gym but I was never an original GL. That honor went to Amanda and Impereon

I am very sorry about that Rebecca.

anyays here some more on My signature arena

    Arena: The Phantom Galleon

    History

A very old mysterious Gallon, which is always concealed in a thick fog, with old tattered sails the wooden body is covered with carvings of the Unown all over the hull, The phantom once belonged to a very famous Pirate named Caption Rizardon Legend, who legend has it ate the forbidden fruit from the tree of world Begins, and mew put a curse on him and all his decedents, Mew also cursed his all the members of his crew turning them in to the Unown that cover the phantom’s hull.

    Arena Deception:

A farley large Spanish Gallon that has severed my family for generations on many a treasure hunt on the high seas, the upper deck is basically a wooden floor arena with the sea as the terrain edge the only thing is there is a the mass with the sails and crows nest in the middle of it.

To the back of the gallon is the Captain’s courts just bellow the wheel that moves on it’s own.

Below deck is the cargo hold, which is to full of boxes coved in cobwebs but there is some room to fight in however it is Dangerous to be down here because of the wild pokemon onbord the crew’s courts consisting of a very small room with only four moth eaten hammocks… oh and the galley as well.

There is a thick fog, however it has no effect on stat boosting moves such as swords dance, also there are wild pokemon on board as well.

Wild pokémon that are fond on board the phantom

    Rattata and Ratacate
    Pikachu.
    Voltorb and magnetite
Unknown may show up but only rarely and the Sprite of Caption Rizardon appears to worn of there coming because the unknown well create a fog that makes a trainer feel the energy drain and damage revised by there pokemon, the trainers HP and energy is equal hounded times the number of pokemon on used however there is a limit to this you cant like have say a 10 on 10 battle and get 1.000 HP or Energy oh and wild pokemon do like 1-5% damage to who ever attacks them.

New team members!! Time to explain their origins and names:

Davin, my female smeargle. I must say, I caught her simply because I loved the way TheBlueAvenger battled with Mr. Carpainter. Having him paint a rapier and turn pseudo-pirate dog was just an awesome thing to experience, let alone play referee to. Davin's name is a play on the not-so-famous artist; I do believe his name was Leonardo DaVincie. Anyway, like most artists, Davin is a liberal atheist to disbelieves in any god but herself. I keep trying to preach to her, but she just won't have it.

Pianissimo, male abra, and Fortissimo, male machop, are brothers from another mother, so to speak. While Piano, very docile and quiet, attacks using his mental prowess (silent and elegant, like the musical term pianissimo means). Meanwhile, Forte is the exact opposite, using his pure strength and what-not to attack his foe (loud and exciting, like the musical term fortissimo means).

Sforzando was another addition to the musical name genre. The word sforzando means to play explosively, which, I do believe, is very suitable for a torkoal. I honestly want to see anyone try to knock him over, because Sforzando is definately a tank.

The reason I picked up these three pokémon, you don't ask? Well, I do need more versatility in my team; not to mention, it's better to have more than one pokémon of each type. A torkoal compliments my black charizard very because he doesn't have that quad-weakness to rock techniques. Same goes for machop and heracross – Fortissimo lacks the quad-weakness to flying that plagues the fighter bug. As for abra, I was really choicing between him and a ralts. I couldn't decide, so I flipped a coin. Pianissimo is the end result, although I guess this is better; everyone seems to have a ralts or kirlia at this point.

In other news, I finally evolved Algernon into a dragonite... which officially makes the /Flying sub-type the least rare type on my team, with four... Winden sie Drachen will soon even it up when he evolves into a salamence.

And finally, my last thing to bring up: The ASB Awards. Hey, Fanfiction has one, so why can't we? Back in the day (grandpa's reminiscing!), my fellow moderators and I conjured up a list of catagories akin to the Silver/Gold Pen(cil)s. If I can remember correctly, the catagories were:
    ·Best Battler
    ·Most Unique Battler
    ·Best Strategy
·Best Pokémon (Fenri[súlf]r almost won that one)
    ·Best Referee
    ·Best Battle
    ·Best Arena
    ·Best Moderator
    ·Best Team
·Best Gym Leader (not applicable at the moment, but maybe someday)
·Best Signature Move (again, not applicable)
    ·Worst Battler (Rapamon2, hands down)

I just had a brain fart, so I can't remember all the catagories. But anyway, yeah, I really would like to see something like this come back... but that's just me...

Aww shucks, I'm honored. It's also da Vinci, and I never thought he was not-so-famous. O_o But that's rather irrelevent.

An a different note, I rather like the idea of ASB awards. I... don't really have anything else to say about that.

On a third, still different note, I also came up with an interesting arena.

    A Court of Law
The combatants do battle in a court of law to decide the fate of the defendant. This court is wide, accomodating most Pokemon. However, it is inside, so weather moves are ineffective, as are dirt- and body-of-water-based moves. However, ground-shaking moves will work, but at the same time, they'll cause the power to go out. The two lawyers in the room - one of whom is dressed in blue, wearing a red tie, and with spiky hair, the other wears a mauve suit with a cravat and neatly combed dark hair that hangs on either side of his face - will occasionally throw "OBJECTION!"s at each other, cauisng sound-based damage to one of the fighters if the judge sustains the objection. Also, straying too close to the lawyers or the judge will cause one of the lawyers to break out a "HOLD IT!", which freezes the Pokemon in place for an action. Finally, if one of the Pokemon incurs Damage Caps on the other, one of the lawyers will yell "TAKE THAT!", which restores a minimal amount of energy to the attacking Pokemon.

At the end of the battle, if the challenger wins, the defendant is declared guilty; if the challenged wins, the defendant is declared innocent; if it's a tie or a DQ, a mistrial is declared.

Yea I brought up ASB Awards to Dan not too long ago and we're in the process of drawing some ideas up. But we just don't want too much going on at one time, that's all. Perhaps after the tournament?

*walks in* =o Nice, very nice, like what you've all done with the place.

    *AHEM*

Anywho...wow...just remembering the old times actually makes me a little teary eyed D:

Psyburat, Indecent Exposure, Moltrecuno (Teresa), Shade (Pablo), DarkPrincess, Sean (Whose name on here I cannot remember), Prof. JB Wolf, ASHarris, TML (Rebecca), Charizard04621...and the list goes on and on...

Psyburat introduced me to my first 'job', at #009-14 Industries...Indecent helped me through some tough battles, always encouraging me...Teresa, Pablo, DarkPrincess, Sean, Rebecca, the closest group of friends I had at the time, too bad I only still talk to Rebecca (At least now) and Sean, who I found out still goes to this board...Prof JB, an excellent battler, ASHarris...an excellent mod, as was C04621

That was quite a while ago...seems like forever. *sniff*

I vageuly still remember the day Rebecca got modded, how happy our group was. You remember that Rebecca?

Just wow...that was such a long time ago...at least to me. Then again, after leaving this place, my life was a living hell.

Anywho, I'm working out my 'custom' arena, and I'll of course post it sooner or later.

Hmmm... I vaguely remember having a tagteam battle with you at one point... I think against Andrew and someone else...

    New Pokemon!

Person Man the Mr. Mime and Particle Man the Nosepass: Chosen in part to complete the They Might Be Giants reference part of my team, Mr. Mime is humanshape, while Nosepass gets Sandstorm. It fits. Kinda.

    New catches!

Geodude [M]: Tonne. Golem is a MegaTON Pokemon so it seemed like a suiting name to me.

Tropius [M]: Saurio. Means 'Dinosaur' in Spanish.

Remoraid [M]: Calamosu. This comes from 'Deceptive' and 'Squid' in spanish. Suiting for an Octopus who steals other Octillerys nests

Eevee [F]: Solvee - Took 'Sol' (Spanish for Sun) and added the 'vee' suffix. May change it to Soleon when it evolves. Can you guess what it will evolve into?

Pichu [M]: Rastoco. Comes from 'Mascot' and 'Mouse' in Spanish. Pichu and Pikachu are very much Pokemon mascots, and all three are mice

[font=sylfaen]Hmm, long while since I've been back in this place. *snitches a chair by the window. One hot chocolate please!

Anyway since quite a few people here have been buying pokes and explainin names I think I should explain mine. All oddness must be explained I think. This will be rather long.

Studdly~He got his name because he evolves into a part fighting and people who fight generally show off their muscles, trying to be 'Studdly'. Thus his name. Also I just thought it funny to name something that looked like a golfing tee Studdly.

Fleeinfara~As I have said before, my team was random number generated. When I saw I got an Eevee, my first thought was of it seeing a humungo Aggron or some such and becoming terrified. So I saw it running away as fast as possible. Flee-in-far-a ^^''

Tiara~Kingler, and she was female so Tiara seemed to fit. Not much to explain here.

Banjoman~Every picture was of a stumbling, whoozy Pokemon that never quite got its balance. Made me think of some one who was really high on pot in the 70's. Also trying to play a Banjo. Peace man, heeeeeee.

Kung Fu Congoman~Me and my sister were playing Risk and we decided to leave Congo in my hands because . . . when we play Risk it's rather odd. She started to sing Congo, Congo maaaan. Everyone wants to be, a Congo maan . . . To the tune of Kung Fu Fightin. I had just got a Numel and had an amusing image of a Numel doing Kung Fu.

John Lafite~Surskit is part water and I needed a name for him wateryish like. I had recently just finished watching Pirates of the Caribbean so I looked up pirates names and came upon John Lafite. It seamed to fit. He likes rum.

B-e-a-utiful~Originally Andune but I needed something odder. I thought of that line in Bruce Almighty where Jim Carrie said B-e-a-utiful. I think it was at the end of the movie, anyway thus her name. ^^''' Besides horses are pretty. Meep.

Cloud Nine~Um ya, recently seen a commercial of a guy playing a guitar, doing yoga and was floating around on a cloud (don't ask). She has cloud wings and it popped into my head. Then I got news Cloud Nine is where you go when you are seriously drugged up. I had a good laugh at that.

Mambo Bigfoot~He was hard to name. I couldn't think of anything. Then I remembered a bigfoot show I had watched earlier and how a Sudowoodo always seemed to be dancing. Bigfoot 'apparently' lives in mountainous forests. Sudowoodo is a fake tree. So Mambo Bigfoot.

Kablooie Louie~Thank dictionary.com. Voltorb explodes a lot so I was looking for different ways to say 'Boom'. Kablooie came up. This Voltorb I thought as 'male' and Louie rhymed with Kablooie. So Kablooie Louie.

I don't have any custom arena's. Any is good by me so long as they are not lit of fire. Studdly didn't like that. I am never using a grass field again. As for the ASB awards I think it is a great idea. Funkydodles.

    ...
    *hilarity ensues*

    Mom: We're one warped family.

My newly designed arena, what do you guys think?

    ‘MLG’ State Highschool.

A typical highschool. It has a large building complex with a variety on different classrooms, a great stone terrain, a comfortable grassy area with trees (also reffered as the ‘Schools Garden’), a basement that has soft sofa’s, it’s very dark in there though and a big fountain in the middle of the stone terrain. The rooftop of the entire complex is flat so suitable for battle, only reachable if you have a Flying pokemon or a pokemon that has the Teleport ability. The various classrooms all have their pros and cons:

Videoroom: All seats are spread to the back, rather open classroom ideal for close combat.

Chemistry room: Dangerous. Crowded with seats and a lab. Touching the chemical tubes and potions will resolve into a -5 HP loss. Touching the Ether on the end of the classroom, ontop of the high closet will result into a +5 Energy raise. Poison type moves get a +2 Attackpower boost. (Read: Not the pokemon, but the move.)

Aula/Theater: Big room with lots of seats. A typical aula, nothing special.

Basement: Rather open terrain, very dark and creepy. Dark and Ghost pokemon are advantidge here.

Rooftop: Flat and empty. Flying and Dragon pokemon get a boost up here. Falling off results in a -12 HP loss. (It is high, remember)

Moisty Forest: The schools forest, it is located one mile from the grassy area. Creepy place, the forest is not kept tidy by the janitor. Bug and Grass pokemon get a boost.

Gym: Wide open space. Fighting pokemon get a boost. It has various gym equipment that can be used to power up attack. (+1 attackboost)

Kitchen: The schoolkitchen. A dangerous place, without you expecting it. It has knifes, hot plates, all kinds of things to throw. Fire pokemon get a boost.

Circuitroom: A room that no-one is allowed in. How to get in, no one knows. Electric and steel pokemon get a boost in here.

Stone-courtyard: Comparable to the indigo stadium. Just a plain battle terrain, out of stone. The pond in the center gives water pokemon a boost and they regain health in it. (+2 HP)

All battles start on the right side of the fountain, on the stone floor.

In terms of Sig Arenas I've been using this one a lot lately:

    Bowser's Castle

Filled with winding streams of lava and countless traps that usually involve spikes, this menacing abode is not to be reckoned with. The opponents can travel to over 100 different rooms, each room with a different purpose, depending on how creative the battlers can get. It is surrounded by a lava moat and has flat arena on its ceiling, upon which the battlers will start. There are also many illusions and secret passageways into different dimensions. Due to a tantrum our friend Bowser had recently, the castle is under repair and is currently deserted, and only two alternate dimensions can be acessed: a simple narrow dock above a vast sea, for water pokemonnnssss of course (they cannot be accomodated in the Castle itself, seeing as the swimming pool is filled with greenish magma crap) and a small series of cloud platforms in the sky. If you are to fall from the clouds, 9% damage. Fall from the dock, 8% damage. Fall anywhere else that isn't into magma 9% damage. Fall into lava/magma/greenish goo 10% damage. Get hurt in any other way 10%.

And I just got a new ASb team member, Exeggcute M, Akon! Everyone say hi!

Time for another post, and if only because I'll be catching four new pokémon very shortly, I wish to tell the ASB population just what I will be capturing. Here goes:

VoltorbElectrode: Renard Bleu needs a friend, so I'm deciding to capture a Voltorb and immediately evolve it using my "freevolution" after the KoT/TBA battle finishes. Why Voltorb? Well, I couldn't choose between Magneton, Lanturn, Electrode, and Ampharos, so I rolled an e-dice. So, by way of chance, I'm gonna get an Electrode. Its nickname will be "093574682" or something similar. If you look closely at the nine numbers, you'll see that the number "one" is missing, thus, "No One".

WooperQuagsire: Chosen specifically for the typeset alone, and I do believe I had a Quagsire in the days of ASB Olde... can't remember. His nickname will be "Düsteres", which I do believe is German for murky (water).

LileepCradily: Kusair also needs a friend, so I'm picking up the Grass/Rock hybrid. This pokémon usually hangs out at the bottom of various bodies of water, which'll work well with the Lake of Rage. Plus, most underwater battles are fought with water types, giving this guy the edge. For no apparent reason, I'm nicknaming him "Saucer".

AnorithArmaldo: Another Rock type to substitute Quezecoatl when he eventually evolves into Steelix. I'm nicknaming him "Walker", because Weasel Overlord asked me to...

    MORE POKEMON!? MORE!?!? Egads!

I decided to rename my Weepinbell from Razor (my namesake) to Triffid. Which is the name of the killer plant from Day of the Triffids.

Also, I want to apologise to anyone who I'm reffing for, for not having done any lately. I had an interveiw friday (which was pointless) but it had me all worked up. I'll get everything up to date ASAP.
