I Challenge You!

A light buzz to his hip gained his attention. Turning his attention away from the T.V screen that was busy babbling about the lack of women in Politics, he opens his cell to find a simple text message.

Meet me in the Open field.

After wanderinf for what seemed like an eternity, Dark Sage, the text message receiver, finally set his sights upon a unfamiliar face in the world of ASB. He stands alone, eyes flickering with hopes of a battle. Dark Sage sighs.

"What is it?"

"I challenge you!" The mysterious man cries, tearing off his cloak to reveal a known face. None other then Silencer, stands defiantly before his opponent. "Go! Spookster!"
In a flash a dark pokemon appears, eyes opening up to reveal a gaze from an older pokemon. A Gastly. The purple smoke soon starts to flow from his body, ready for battle.

Slightly taken back, but not hesitating. Dark Sage reaches for a pokeball and tosses it. It opens up to reveal a beautiful, and graceful psychic pokemon known as Venus, as the pokemon gives a defiant call, Dark Sage smiles. "You're on!"

Chapter One: A Dark Beginning

Rushing off to the start is the beautiful Venus, who seems to be properly named. She does a series of elegant arm movements before bowing. Immediately, an opaque veil comes from the top of her head and slowly oozes down all over her body until she is completely covered. Rising up to her appropriate height, the veil disappears. Leaving a Confident Kirlia.

Spookster isn't very impressed... In fact, I doubt he even cares. He was busy creating a rather oversized, and dangerous looking black orb. In which he finished by smiling gleefully in Venus's direction before firing off the orb that is so large, it looks like a comet, complete with entrails.

3...2...1...BLAST OFF!

Venus is sent sprawling through the air from the massive explosion, despite being hurt, she elegant bends her body in the air before landing perfectly. If there were an audience, she'd be getting applause.

Venus continues to impress the non-existent audience. She does similar arm movements before doing an Asian bow, this time as she rises, three more of her appear. She smiles, looking back at her trainer confidently.

Spookster smiles, along with his Trainer. Spinning rapidly and then ending by staring up at the sky. Clouds begin to gather, and soon enough, rain begins to poor down onto the arena. Washing away the clones. Smirking, Spookster sticks out his tongue at Kirlia.

Rising an eyebrow. Kirlia's eyes begin to glow, and eerily, her arm slowly rises up, towards Spookster. Much like she is possessed.

Spookster attempts to retract his tongue, but its futile, a invisible force has a hold of it, and violent begins to spin him around, so fast, that all the trainers can see is a purple blur, and a bit of pink representing his tongue.

Violently the terror ends with Spookster being squeezed so much that his eyes begin to turn a bit red.

Enraged, Spookster glares at Venus who is lowering her arm. She comes out of her creepy state just in time for her eyes to grow wide as a bolt of lightning strikes her dead on.

Ouch...

Not much else to say other then Dark Sage is Correct. You cannot steal Safeguard.

Hmm, a powerfull shadow ball and a thunderbolt deal 15% and 1 psychic does 12%? Why does this seem high for 1 psychic?

Anyway. Start of with an astonish. Since that safeguard is a big hinder in any strategy (atleast the ones I like) I want you to use a thunderbolt, her wet body should be a ood conducter and lets finish this round with a sludge bomb.
Incase she uses thunderwave, hypnosis or will-o-wisp use your ghostly powers to phase out and dodge.

Chapter Two: You Can 't See Me

Venus glares, again her eyes becoming glowing balls of horror as her arm slowly raises up again, but in a shocking turn of events, Spookster is upon her, the amazing speed of Astonish causing him to be able to beat Venus to her attack. The quick hit causes the unprepared Venus to stumble back. Stopping her from using psychic.

Flustered, Venus's eyes begin to glow a deep hypnotic blue, and in the rain it only looks even more entrancing. But Spookster won't have it. He slips out of reality, his body disappearing, and rain pelts where he once was. Venus blinks.

Where did her opponent go?

Reappearing in relatively the same area, Venus reacts differently this time. Taking in a huge amount of air, she spews out small blue embers, super heated, and ready to burn. Venus is disappointed when Spookster disappears again.

God that's getting annoying.

Reappearing, Silencer can't help but laugh at his opponent's futile attempts to hit his pokemon. He smiles at Gastly before smirking at Dark Sage.

Notes: Psychic does 6 DMG, x2 weakness. 6 x 2 equals 12 DMG. Shadow Ball is by the book weaker then Psychic. So it does 4 DMG, x2 weakness. 8 DMG, plus since it was bigger it adds 1 DMG on. Equalling 9 DMG. Thunderbolt adds on another 6 DMG. 8 + 6 = 15. Rain Dance doesn't necessarily make Thunderbolt stronger, just better aim.

Spookster, being a ghost, is naturally good at phasing out. Thus why he is so fast at it. Make note, Spookster will get slower at more tired he is.

Chapter Three: Spite me O' Mighty Spiter

This round begins with Spookstet watching very amused as Venus summons copies of herself. The clones appear, but in an instant they disappear. The rain has washed them away! Venus gulps as she watches Spookster charge up another ghostly ball.

2...1...

A Smaller explosion then last time, but this shadow ball was defiantly quicker, Venus is sent flying, but she manages to be as nimble as a cat and regain her balance.

Venus is slightly angered at her double team failure, so she decides to take it out on Spookster. Who simply stares as the arm slowly begins to rise again.

He wastes so no time...

He begins to summon a dark spirit from the ASB underworld, the energy gathers for a moment, turning into a comical devil 'pitchfork'. Spooksters eyes light a eeri yellow for a second; seeming to cause the 'pitchfork' to fly towards the Kirlia and be 'absorbed' into her stomach.

Kirlia's eye twitches, her once loose hand tightens, where has her psychic energy gone? Her mind begins to strain, but finally, her hand almost a fist, Spookster is beginning to feel the effects. His mind begins to tingle, ever so slightly... Then pain, miniscule at first, but then larger, and larger. Before you know it, a mind-melting psychic is driving Spookster insane!

Not understanding the strain on her psychic ability, Venus starts on a different approach. She summons a dark ghost ball much like Spooksters, and fires it off at him all the same, as he still recovering from the psychic blow.

Ready... Set... Boom!!

Spookster, who had just recovered from a psychic, is sent toppling over as a shadow ball collides with his skin. He recovers quickly, and fires off a white beam of normal energy that slams into Venus. Making her topple back right onto her butt.

Fearing the worst, Venus watches as her Safeguard veil glimmers for a few moments, before disappearing. Whatever status effect had been attached, failed.

Chapter Four: While it's Raining...

Watching rather amused, Spookster and his trainer Silencer watch another futile attempt by Venus to summon copies of herself. Unfortunately, Rain is Rain, and the copies vanish, quickly after that Venus is hit just below the neck by a nightshade. Venus winces in pain as the cells die, causing the scar of Nightshade to appear blood red.

"Sorry Venus..." Dark Sage murmurs sadly as Spookster rushes in for a Giga Drain. Venus, slightly peeved at the horrible mark on his body, lifts her arm up, and causes a bolt of lightning to shock the ghost pokemon.
But not before he attaches himself and sucks a considerable amount of energy from Venus and restores his own.

Spookster starts off this round cough and gagging, causing an acidic formula to begin to dribble from his open mouth.

Venus however, prepares to blow her opponent away as she forms a shadow ball.

Both pokemon fire off the attacks almost at the same moment, Sludge bomb is shoot upwards on an angle, so it will travel to destination, while Shadow ball is fired off like a bullet and zooms across the field smack into Spookster. Just as this happens, Sludge Bomb slams down upon Venus, who is disgusted at the acidic liquid drips off of her.

Summary of Chapter Four: While it's Raining...

Chapter Five: Bigger, Badder, BETTER explosions!

Recovering from her recent embarrassments. Venus snaps her fingers, releasing a wave of small static charges that zoom across the battlefield and 'slams' into Spookster. Who simply smiles as a glimmering shield fades away.

This is getting sooo annoying... Venus thinks as she begins to charge up a shadow ball. She blinks, but isn't deterred when she sees her opponent charging his own. Instead she fires it off almost at the exact second Spookster does.

3....2....1....

As both shadow balls make contact with each other, everyone is witness to a massive explosion of dark energy creates a small crater that quickly fill with water in the middle of the field.

Actually deciding to hit each other this round. Venus's eyes glow a deep purple. The air begins to seemingly ripple, crawling acorss the field towards Spookster, who charges a thunderbolt and fires it off just as the confusion consumed his mind. Causing pain and disorientation.

The thunderbolt, however, collides with Venus, sending her sprawling back, but all the same, she's okay. That is until her veil against status ailments turns visible, and then slowly oozes on her skin, dripping onto the ground, until it dissipates into the rain.

Chapter Six: Bigger, Badder, BETTER explosions! ... Part two...

The round kicks off with Venus summoning a similar veil, it does much the same, slowly oozing over her, in fact in covers her just in time for a Nightshade to cut right through it and strike Venus's abdomen. Causing the cells to rapidly die off, creating a horrible mark, and pain.

Spookster blinks, his disorientation wearing off. He frowns.

"Nice hit..." Sage frowns.

Silencer coughs. "He was aiming for her head..."

"Uhhh.." Sage shakes his head, not really wanting to say anything..

It's true though... That was Bad aiming...

At this point, Spookster is slightly annoyed, he charges up a shadow ball, and watches Venus copy hit. Both pokemon release their dark orbs of nothingness that explode when they slam into each other. Making the crater in the ground only larger.

Venus knowing very well that the way Spookster is gleaming at her means something bad, she avoids the attack by snapping her fingers and throwing sparks off towards her opponent. Who simply floats there until the very last moment, where he Phase's out and then back in again.

Spookster smiles. Apparently he was trying to impress his trainer.

Chapter Seven: Return of the Ref!

The match starts of quickly with Venus attempting to concentrate hard enough to summon an attack that will strike in the future. But oh no! Spookster slams into her and throws her concentration completely off! She’s too stunned to try again, not believing that Spookster is really there!

Angry, Venus snaps her fingers, and releases a wave of sparks towards Spookster, who, being scolded by his trainer before, attempts to dodge it normally, barely managing to avoid the stunning sparks.

Both Pokemon now switch to offensive. Venus summons a ball of nothingness, while Spookster sparks wildly. Both attacks release at the same time, causing Venus to be struck by a bolt of lightning just as the shadow ball forces Spookster to fly backwards!

Both Pokemon recover and glare at each other… Evilly…

Chapter Eight: You Can't See Me

With the rain beginning to die down, both pokemon take a moment to absorb the lighter feel of the rain before focusing back on each other.

Spookster, the confident ghost pokemon, grins evilly before spewing out negative energy towards Venus, Who is busy charging up a Shadow ball to notice the inky energy strike her right upon her face! Aww poor Venus! The gruesome rash of dead cells cover her face, and enraged, she fires off the shadow ball, but because of the dying cells in her eyes, the shadow ball just manages to hit Spookster.

Now even more confident in his abilities, Spookster watches the frantic Venus trying to relax, but also trying to regain her eyesight. All that she sees is a bright yellow and white blur before getting violently shocked and thrown back.

Venus, knowing that she has no real chance of hitting with a straightforward attack, fires off a wave of tiny sparks, but to her dismay, the 'purple blob' dodges the smaller yellow 'blobs' easily, before letting out a laugh at Venu's futile attempts.

Let's try to finish this quickly. Start of with Shadowball of your own but don't fire at the same time, she'll likely mis anyway. Then fire another nightshade. If she is low on health (5% or less) then astonish, else use another nightshade. If you can put extra energy into the Shadow ball to try to finish her that turn.
Focus on not straining yourself. We could use all the energy we have on our next foe.

Chapter Nine: Real and Make Believe…

With this round probably being the tragic end for the hurt and defeated Kirlia, Venus, she still tries to keep her pride. Even as the rain makes the purple blur of Spookster nearly impossible to see, she charges a shadow ball, and fires it off.

Spookster calmly begins to charge an overly large Shadow Ball, he giggles to himself as Venus doesn’t even see it coming.

In this world there’s real and make believe…

The black ball that now resembles some sort of twisted comet as it zooms towards the Blind Kirlia, who senses her Trainers fall of heart. She turns, her blood shot eyes somehow looking up directly into her trainers. But that face is torn away by pain and shock as dark energy slams into her back.
