    Default Mystic_clown VS Mega Horny ref: Hyperness is a Good Thing

    2-2 both out at the same time

    DQ: 1 Week

    Banned Moves: Recover, Rest, pretty much all healing moves

    You call first, I attack first

    Arena: Clockwork Tower - Inner Workings

    Home to the mad trainer Ben (me). The tower comprises of a thick shaft filled with gears, cogs and machinery, with the rooms revolving around it, with the boiler room at the bottom, and a large clock at the top. The room are connected with with walkways.

    The battle will take place in the main shaft in the center of the tower. The are a few platforms and ladders in the shaft (mainly for maintinance) but the main fighting will take place on the large gears and anything you can stand on. Be careful however, as getting caught in the gears is a high risk. Getting an arm or a leg caught will do 5% damage, while getting your torso or head caught will do 15% damage. Also, falling from a great hight (which is possible since the shaft goes from almost the top to almost the bottom) will do damage (I'll leave this up to the ref).

    Ok guys, Cuboner, start off with a Rock (gears and stuff) slide into both opponents, hopefullt surprising them and their clones. Then, use Swords Dance to power up when they flash, since you wont need to aim. Finish off with a Bonemerang into Rhaos.

    Sean Paul, I want you to hit your opponents with a surf, I don't car how, just hit them both, hopefully finishing Cuboner's job. Then hit Sableye with a Shock wave, even though you cant see, which will break his concentration. Finish off melting the ice when Creeper attacks, with your flamethrower.

    I don't mind reffing but..
    1) I'm new. Make that extremely new. This would be my first 2 on 2 battle should you accept me as your ref
    2) My schedule today is BAD. Earliest posting I can make is tomorrow... but a post will be up before Friday.

    Heh, if you two don't mind these.... "faults" I'll ref for ya.

    Background Music: Trick Castle - Ape Escape

    Prebattle
    The rookie referee paces nervously at the clockwork tower’s main shaft waiting anxiously for the two combatants. Briefly, she contemplates the irony of one of the combatants being late since he’s supposed to live there in the first place.

    Soon, both the trainers arrive, and the referee heaves a sigh of relief. They release their respective Pokemon almost immediately.

    The referee’s eyes go all big and shiny as she spots the pretty pink Dratini. However, since the Dratini’s name is Sean Paul, she’ll have to assume that it’s male, and it’s colour is probably meant to be called purple. Assuring the two trainers that her reffing will not be biased even though she finds the Dratini absolutely adorable, she signals for the battle to start.

    Battle Begins! Round ONE

    Sean Paul is on a large revolving cog, slowly going round and round, and clearly enjoying himself. As the cog is turning, he has to constantly shift his body as to continue facing his opponents. Creeper and Rhaos stand side by side on a narrow platform, each trying not to jostle the other, whereas Cuboner is perched a little higher than the rest on a small raised area, grimly looking at his two opponents.

    Creeper and Rhaos kick off the battle with their joint double team. They start to glow and their outlines blur, and four images of Sableye fan out behind him, and there are now four identical Rhaos. The images and the real Pokemon spread out almost immediately onto nearby areas as soon as possible, each moving independent of its creator, so alike that it is impossible to tell the difference.

    Ordered to do Rock Slide, Cuboner, obviously because there are no rocks around, improvises with two large loose cogs that were just lying conveniently around. He throws them right at two Sableyes and a single Elekid that were foolishly bunched together. The cog flies right through them, destroying the illusion. It smashes into the axle of one of the gears, damaging it badly and slowing it down. The other cogs turning around it start to creak and grind, and there are screams of protest from the metals as the machinery slowing starts to go haywire.

    Sean Paul looks a little confused as he has been ordered to use Surf without the presence of any large bodies of water nearby. However, the pink Dratini spots a large vat of oil(don’t ask me why it’s there, probably to oil the cogs). He hops off his wheel and onto a more solid, metal platform. He manipulates the oil, lifting it up to smash with great impact against an Elekid and a Sableye nearby. However, as the oil is heavier and of different consistency compared to water, Sean Paul is forced to struggle with it, and is not able to control it too well.

    The Elekid image dissolves, but by luck, Sean Paul scores on Creeper(10%). Oil splashes everywhere, coating the wooden floor, making the battleground slippery and even more dangerous than before. Rhaos, wedging himself into a small corner, meditates, calming down his mind and also pondering on the best way to do his next attack(Attack+)

    Creeper, coated in oily black grime, pulls himself to full height and unleashes a blinding flash. Cuboner, who happened to be looking at his direction is temporarily dazed. Nevertheless, he sticks diligently to his trainer’s instructions, and spins around a little clumsily, but manages to create a small vortex of air. (Attack++)

    Meanwhile, Sean Paul, besides a few spots in his eyes from the flash is otherwise fine. He zeroes in on Creeper and discharges many little bolts of electricity, taking Creeper by surprise.(6%)

    Cuboner has finally finished his Swords Dance and is ready to attack. Though he still can’t see too clearly, he sees a yellow and black moving spot that looks like Rhaos, and he releases his deadly bonemerang. Cuboner roars in delight as the bone slices through Rhaos but his joy turns into rage as the image of Rhaos is scattered and destroyed.

    Creeper makes his move with a jet of water with supersonic waves, hitting the already confused Cuboner and knocking him just a little sillier.(12% damage + confusion) While this is going on, Rhaos finally emerges, and aims an Ice Punch at the Dratini, but Sean Paul retaliates with a Flamethrower, that melts the ice but fails to cause much damage to Creeper as much of its power had already been used up by the melting of the ice.(4%) Creeper turns, fixing his diamond-like eyes onto the Dratini with a look of pure malice.

    ROUND ONE END

    Ending Stats
    Mystic Clown
    Creeper ~ Sableye
    Hp:80%
    Energy:82%
    Status: Covered in oil, pissed off at Sean Paul.
    ~Two images left

    Rhaos ~ Elekid
    Hp: 100%
    Energy: 84%
    Status: Fine =)
    ~Attack +, zero images left

    Mega Horny
    Sean Paul ~ A pretty pink Dratini
    Hp:100%
    Energy: 74%
    Status: Seems to be perfectly fine

    Cuboner – Obviously a Cubone
    Hp:88%
    Energy: 85%
    Status: Confused
    ~Attack ++, also still blinded

    Arena Status
    One part of the clock tower is slowly getting jammed up as the wheels and cogs enmesh in each other. In future rounds, pieces of exploding machinery might rain down on the combatants, causing damage. Also, from Sean Paul’s Surf, there is a large amount of oil splashed almost everywhere, coating the floor with slippery slicks that might prove extremely dangerous.

    ~~~~
    How was it? =P Yes, I’ll change the mistakes if you tell me about them.
    EDIT number I dunno what: Tweaked the damage stats etc to conform with the normal ASB rules and damage stuff. =)
    Ok, one, I used Rock SLIDE not throw, which would toss multiple gears into both opponents and their clones. Also, Water Pulse is a weak move and in no way could it do 18% damage, even if super effective. Ice Punch as well, 20% is way too much, and I commanded my Dratini to use flamethrower when he ice punches, to prevent himself from freezing, but for some reason he attacks afterwords. otherwise pretty good, but please edit and read the actions thouroughly
    I heart you Mystic Clown. Lol, just kidding. A ref hasta be onna fence.
    Mega Horny: haha, I received pointers that the damage I did was too little now it's too much?
    Hmmm... you know according to the pretty coin I tossed, (actually after checking out all the stats and all), Rock Slide/Rock Throw was fated to miss. Haha, seriously, it only has moderate accuracy, and yeaps.
    About the damage caused by the other attacks, I'll review it tonight and change it. Maybe.
    I still find the amounts of damage outrageous and it also states in the rules that the exact commands must be followed, not separate attacks. Almost even? Rhaos has full health. I'm not trying to be mean, just trying to give him constructive criticism, he asked for it anyway. Otherwise, your reffing was indeed very well done, especially for 'newbie' with your references to how Dratini couldnt control the oil as well and stuff like that, so don't feel bad, you did a good job. I just would like the amount of damage to be edited slightly as well as my commands for Rock Slide and Flamethrower. ^^
    I realize how hard it is when a battler complains to the ref, I've experienced it a few times, and I'm merely trying to help so it doesn't happen as often. im truly trying to do this in a nice way, but its hard becuase you cant really tell how someones feeling in writing unless you go like this all the time. ^^ ^^ ^^^^^^^WADbhaew0hnagy0j
    Anway, I want dratini to use a flamethrower, hopefully melting the ice if it isnt edited out and also doing some serious pain to the oil covered Sableye. Dratini, just hit him hard with 2 more flamethrowers.
    Flamethrowerx3
    Cuboner, go over to Rhaos with your bone rush and try and knock him off his platform. Then try and throw him off again with seismic toss and finish with bonemerang.
    I've already editted the post, so you might want to check your attacks?
    Go on commenting, it's ok..
    I need to improve myself neeways. =)
    Because you commented about the actual weakness of Water Pulse and all that, of course MC's Pokemon get a decent amount of energy back to compensate, so now the damage is less, and the energy lost is also less.
    I agree damage should be fewer, Water Pulse doing perhaps 7 or 8%, and ice punch maybe 6 or 7%. If you ever wonder about it, check the attack list beta, or look at existing battles which you can usually use to get a good eye for. Or PM a mod, we're friendly
    Generally attacks go in sequence, like the games:
    p1: attack1
    p2: attack 1
    p1: attack 2
    p2: attack 2
    p1: attack 3
    p2: attack 3
    But you CAN order an attack to be used, such as "if it uses ice beam, fire a flamethrower towards it", in which case both attacks are used together.
    M...MY TOWER! *snarls*
    Creeper, use psychic on Sean Paul to stop his first flamethrower. Then aim a second Water Pulse at Cuboner before he can do any major damage to Rhoas! (it should be easy considering he's blind!). Then hit Sean Paul with a Confuse Ray!
    Rhoas! Hit Sean Paul with a quick Attack while he's occupied with Creeper, then hit Cuboner with a Brick Break after Creeper's attack and then hit him with a swift, quickly!
    Type advantage isnt double damage in ASB, but increase it by a certain% (say 3 or 4%)
    Not to interfere, but I mostly ref most attacks around 8% or 9%, +1 or 2 if done by a stronger pokemon or if its a stronger move like say earthquake. Otherwise moves like Waterpulse and such do about 8% in my reffings. Also, like Chris said +3 or 4% if super-effective. My policy is that no 1 on 1 battle should go any further then 8-9 rounds. It just isn't natural anymore. Or energy runs out or you have 0HP.
    Cuboner <attacks Rhaos>
    Bone Throw ~ Seismic Toss ~ Bonemerang
    Sean Paul <attacks Creeper>
    Flamethrower (X3)
    [size=14pt] Arena Status
    One part of the clock tower is slowly getting jammed up as the wheels and cogs enmesh in each other. Three(3) more rounds until the machinery explodes. Also, from Sean Paul’s Surf, there is a large amount of oil splashed almost everywhere, coating the floor with slippery slicks that might prove extremely dangerous.
    – Round Two –
    Round and round the we go, where we’ll stop, nobody knows
    Sean Paul wastes no time and attempts to spit out a long beam of fire at Creeper, but the diamond eyed Pokemon is ready with an attack of his own. With a strange telekinetic twist, Dratini’s mouth is snapped shut, and the fire that was building with his maw is forced to sear down backwards, causing some internal burns and great fury to the lovely Sean Paul. (8% damage+3% from burns)
    While the Dratini is choking his outrage and coughing out great black clouds of smoke, Cuboner rushes to Rhaos with a few quick, agile leaps, but as he still can’t see too well, he has to slow down a little. Rhaos on the other hand, ignoring his impending doom, focuses on Sean Paul, and leaps down swiftly, but lands on a slick of black oil, loses his balance and slides into the still coughing Sean Paul(5% damage to both on impact) and entangled together, they slip and slide until they both end up crashing into a large gear, causing further damage to the machinery in the tower and injuring themselves.(6% damage to both).
    Cuboner, blinking his eyes furiously, has finally managed to clear his vision, and with great care and agility, leaps down, avoids most of the oil streaks, and begins to pummel the still prone Rhaos(who is recovering from the shock of the crash) with his bone. (16%) Rhaos, barely coherent, can only wail in pain as the bone club comes down over and over again.
    Noticing his comrade-in-arms’ distress, Creeper shoots out a well aimed jet of water, that though weak, manages to knock Cuboner back a bit, away from Rhaos, once again thanks to the slippery floor.
    Through all this chaos, Sean Paul has gotten up and managed to recover a little, and he attacks with Flamethrower once again, jetting out a fiery stream at Creeper. This time, Creeper is hit hard, and the oil that is splattered over his body ignites. (7%+4% from the burning oil on his body). Creeper, thinking fast, leaps to a dry, sawdusty patch of ground nearby that does not have any oil and rolls around wildly. He manages to put out the flame, but receives several first degree burns and one severe second degree burn.
    Meanwhile, as all this is going on, Rhaos has recovered from his beating, and, concentrating all his force into his tough left arm, he hits Cuboner on his bony head, leaving a few hairline cracks on the skull that every Cubone wears(8%).
    Cubone wails an unearthly melody, infuriated at the damage done to his beloved mother’s skull. Still screaming, he picks up the surprised Elekid and spins Rhaos wildly in the air before throwing him away with all the grief and strength that he can muster. Rhaos lands onto a puddle of oil, splashing up the viscous black liquid as he lands.(10% because Cuboner threw him extra hard)
    Rhaos pulls through surprisingly fast, and gets up, aiming a long stream of five pointed stars at Cuboner. Cuboner, his eyes flashing great anger and hatred, takes the full damage of the stars.(6%) Bellowing his hate, he rushes forward, but because he is both confused and angry, he misses his footing, and he trips but he releases the bone. The bone he holds in his hand flies true, striking Rhaos, though not too accurately. (7%) Cuboner picks himself up, and he straightens up, lifting up a paw to catch the returning bone. He lifts his head and roars his loathing. Rhaos, rubbing his head, glares at the Cubone.
    Sean Paul and Creeper commence their attacks at the same time, the insubstantial white beam of the Confuse Ray passing through the very substantial Flamethrower, hitting their targets at the same time. Creeper roars as parts of him ignite again(9%), and Sean Paul shrieks, seeing strange visions start to appear before his eyes.
    Round TWO end.
    Cuboner – Obviously a Cubone
    Hp:74%
    *jaws drops*....
    *getting ticked* Alright! If that's the way you want it! Creeper! Hit that cursed Dratini with Toxic and do the same for that Cubone! Then use another double team to avoid their attacks.
    Rhoas, hit that damm cubone with a focus punch! smash the skull right off his head. It that dratinit with a Thunder and then finish up with a Protect!
    Creeper: Toxic (sean paul) - Toxic (cuboner) - Double Team
    GUYS! YOU'RE USING MOVES THAT DON'T REQUIRE MOVEMENT SO YOU WON'T SLIP! ALSO, EQ DOESNT REQUIRE VISION!
    Cuboner, start off with an Earthquake to throw around Creeper and Rhaos, not to mention damage him before he can get close enough to use focus punch thus foiling his plan. Then use protect, defending yourself from toxic and Dratini's outrage! Then, when they use double team and protect, relax and let them waste their energy, while you gain some back!
    EQ ~ Protect ~ Relax
    Sean Paul, start off with protect to block the poison and damage from the earthquake. Then use Outrage to attack your opponents, hopefully throwing Rhaos's thunder off, since it already has low accuracy. Then relax while your opponents waste their precious energy for no reason while you heal!
    Protect ~ Outrage ~ Relax
    I have a question.. for Elekid, an Electric type Pokemon, it is true that Ground attacks will hurt it..
    however, in this case, the use of Earthquake makes the ground tremble, and as far as I can tell, the damage is caused to the Pokemon by the objects surrounding them, for instance large objects/debris falling onto them because of the Earthquake. Then, especially since this is a wooden tower floor and there isn't really any earth around...
    does Rhaos suffer more damage compared to Creeper if he gets injured due to the Earthquake(because there isn't any "ground/earth" here) or is it entirely subjective and up to the referee?
    EDIT: okies I got MH's opinion, now I wanna see what Mc says before I post up the next round.
    Well, its really up to you, but attacks shouldnt lose there super effectiveness unless it is stated otherwise in the arena description for the acceptance, and I don't believe there was, therefore I accepted the match thinking that normal rules would apply. Also, EQ is still EQ.
    Mega Horny, you used the word “opponents” for Sean Paul’s outrage, but seeing as he can’t split himself into two to physically attack both of them, I’m going with that Sean Paul is going to attack Rhaos.
    And do voice any objections you may have, Mystic Clown. I will listen.
    [size=14pt] – Round Three –
    escalating battle
    Right at the commencement of the third round, Creeper trembles as pain racks through his body, the burns on his body firing up his nerve ends(3%)
    The enraged Cuboner begins the attacks, slamming his paw down onto the floor and concentrating. The wooden planks starts to shake and crack apart, and several large cogs and springs start to emerge from beneath the floor’s surface. A small area around Cuboner remains normal, but everywhere around him, chaos ensures. (Ben, dude, I don’t think you can live here anymore after this)
    Sean Paul, already confused and not thinking straight is unable to deal with this event, and the faint protect shield that he had been trying to fashion around himself flickers out as the Dratini’s concentration snaps. As the floor in front of him suddenly rises up and buckles, the helpless Dratini is thrown about like a bird in a storm.
    The machinery that would have exploded a round later cannot handle the added stress of the Earthquake, and it explodes, showering the combatants with hard pieces of metal – and hurting every single on of them. (6% damage each to Sean Paul and Creeper, 8% to Rhaos since he has softer and more delicate skin, and bruises easily)
    As the floor trembles beneath him, Rhaos, with his left fist charging up, struggles to get to the Cuboner. He gamely makes the effort but loses concentration often due to the shaky ground, and finally, when Cuboner finishes his attack, exhausted, Rhaos manages to land a rather weak focus punch on Cuboner’s head(5%) that adds a few more cracks to that worn out skulls. It serves to enrage the Cuboner yet further(are there limits to his anger?) However, true to his trainer’s commands, he sets up a bright, strong shield around himself.
    Ignoring that battle, Creeper creeps up to Dratini, who is dizzy from the battering and still confused. He spits out an ugly purple glob right onto the little dragon’s body.(6%) The dratini wails in pain as the poison sinks in.
    Seeing that Sean Paul is already not in good shape, Rhaos takes advantage of the situation, and a huge bolt of lightning sizzles towards the Dratini. However, Sean Paul, seeing his own danger, reacts with great anger, and with a mighty roar that seems incompatible with such a small frame, he leaps forward. The bolt brushes against him(4%), but the full brunt of the power slams into more machinery nearby, causing further damage, and sparks start to fly. These sparks start up a fire on the oily floor, which definitely isn’t a good thing.
    Sean Paul doesn’t seem to have any visible teeth, but he’s making good use of his tail and flexible body to thrash against Rhaos.(7%)
    Creeper did attempt a Toxic on Cuboner, but it splattered harmlessly against his protect shield. Frustrated, Creeper shimmers, moving on to his next attack. Five(5) clones appear, all similar to the Sableye, burn marks and all.
    Dratini and Cubone, obeying orders, relax, but Rhaos has a last order to follow, and he shields his entire body with a well done Protect.
    The small fire on the wooden floor starts to intensify, and it spreads rapidly, soon, becoming an insane inferno. It moves, eating up the wooden floorboards, and some mini explosions starts, building and building up(what the heck are you keeping underneath those floorboard of yours, Ben?). With an enormous, ear-shattering blast, the entire floor explodes and caves in, and the four combatants suddenly lack floor, and of course, following the law of physics, they start to fall. Burning debris rains over them, and the two unprotected pokemon suffer, getting hit many times(7% damage to both).
    They fall and fall, and since this is a high tower, they will fall for one round before reaching the ground. And both the Pokemon who had Protects up don’t have any shield any more because the burning debris already destroyed the shield completely, and maintaining the shields will take too much energy.
    Energy: 32%
    Status: Confused and still very very angry at Rhaos,
    Arena Status
    There isn’t a floor at the top anymore, and the top of the tower is still burning. Forget about renovations, MC, you might as well build a new home. Debris will still fall down from above once in a while, possibly causing damage to combatants below.
    Plan the next part of the battle properly – remember it will be in mid air, so there is no place to brace themselves, manoeuvring nearer towards an opponent will not be easy(thus making it easier for physical attacks to miss), and of course, 25% damage when you hit the ground. Elemental attacks have to be aimed carefully or they might be thrown of by the winds rushing by the combatants as they fall.
    Have fun.
    One, Outrage attacks BOTH opponents and Two, Protect doesn't falter.
    ???
    I generally base everything on the battle guide thingy in the towers
    in the case of outrage i read that it requires physical contact which means Dratini would have to go to both opponents? for this one if you want it, I guess it could be written in and it'll use a lot of energy
    for Protect - the shield requires energy and concentration to hold up, which Sean Paul did not have at that time...
    =( I based it on my own interpretation of the attacks, so I really don't know. Sighs, I guess I'll go ask the Head Ref if I've made a mistake here or something. *goes to post in reffing tower*
    Hm... Your reffing for Outrage is okay. It only attacks one target at once - even in the games (although it's random there). No need to change that part.
    Also, if Sean Paul is confused and low on energy anyway, it's understandable that he wouldn't be able to hold Protect as long. The key part here is 'confused', though; if he were just low on energy, the Protect would just drain what little energy he had left. Or at least that's how I would ref it.
