    Pre-Battle
    Indigo Stadium: once the exclusive battling location of the greats: reduced to being used as the ‘playground’ of all ASB’ers alike. Despite its current status however, the field is in as good condition as it was in the old “glory days”, and it is here that your Most Humble Referee arrives to meet with two trainers. One is a returned trainer from days long past, the other is a veteran currently chronicling the exploits of ASB in general. At the whistle of the ref, the two trainers release their Pokemon, and the battle begins!

    Round One, Begin!

    Outkast, an Abra, is the first to make a move. Utilizing his psychic powers, and the as-of-yet undiscovered kinship with small dolls shared by several Pokemon, Outkast creates a small plush miniature doll of himself. Callomuso gaze shifts towards the small doll, studying it for a moment, before he creates his own toy, a miniature copy of himself roughly the same size. It’s a rather ridiculous sight to see both Pokemon hiding behind their smaller selves, but the referee has seen worse.

    Outkast suddenly steps in front of his doll, standing and puffing his chest out. He snorts and grunts, assuming a few poses as he does. Callomuso, likewise, steps in front of his miniature to close his eyes and screech as loud as he can. The grating noise is so annoying and so shrill that even the referee is affected, plugging his ears with his knuckles. Chris 2.0 doesn’t budge, having applied earplugs to his own a few moments ago.

    While the Abra is gritting his teeth, still hearing the discordant Screech echo in his head, Callomuso takes the opportunity to fire an Ice Beam at his opponent’s doll. The plush toy is blown backward, covered and ice and plush sticking out from several tears, but still intact. Outkast strikes back, creating a large ball of spectral energy and blasting at his opponent’s doll, sending it high into the air. When it lands, the doll is in similar shape to his own. Round One comes to a close…

    Good work Cal. I want you to use double team to spread yourself out and further confuse Outkast. Then fire a water gun at the sub and once its destroyed, hit the real thing with water pulse. If the sub isnt destroyed using water gun, fire blizzard on your last turn.

    Round Two, Begin!

    Callomuso concentrates, and blinks once. When his eyes open once more, there are four identical clones of the Octillery grouped in a loose circle around him. Outkast gapes at the multiple octopi(?), his jaw dropping…before abruptly breaking into applause, cheering raucously.


    The Octillery looks a little surprised at first at his opponent’s reaction. “Water Gun!” cries Chris 2.0 from behind hi, but Callomuso can barely hear him. He’s too busy basking in the adoration of his fans. Instead of attacking, the octopus concentrates once more, this time creating another three clones. Outkast stops his applause as if on cue, beginning a tribal Rain Dance dancing in a small circle. Grey storm clouds obscure the previously sunny day moments later, and the field is soon victim to a downpour. Callomuso’s clones disappear, though he looks quite happy in the rain.

    Perhaps it is the rain that reminds him of his duties. Callomuso forgets about the fame, and inhales sharply. The next moment, he exhales a shimmering storm of ice crystals. The Blizzard makes short work of the already drenched Substitute, and Outkast reluctantly takes the field once more. The Abra creates a ball of electric energy, using his psychic to keep the rain from interfering in its creation, and fires. The lightning sizzles the already wet Octillery doll, obliterating it. Now it is Callomuso who must take the field. Round Two comes to a close…

    Ok, Outkast, unfortunately, we had to use a move we should negate...Sunny Day, then if Callomuso tries to get near you, Thunderpunch him, if he stays too far to do that, go for for a good Psychic or 2...

    Round Three, Begin!

    Sadly, Outkast finds the rain not quite to his tastes. He begins another tribal dance, this time, in glory to the sun, not the rain. Callomuso bides his time, and when Outkast’s back is turned, leaps. Wrapping his tentacles securely around the Abra’s body, Callomuso gets a nice good grip, squeezing tightly. The referee can’t help but chuckle, as it appears that Outkast is wearing Callomuso as a backpack.

    Outkast struggles valiantly, but finds he cannot raise his arms to deliver a Thunderpunch- his arms are pinned to his sides. Taking advantage of his predicament, Callomuso shifts his position slightly to spit a Toxic squarely on the Abra’s head. Outkast turns slightly green, poisoned.

    The Octillery’s position has loosened the grip on Outkast’s arms, however. Charging his fist with electricity, Outkast does his best to smack one of Callomuso’s tentacles. It doesn’t do as much damage as a direct hit would, but the voltage does loosen Callomuso’s muscles. The Octillery releases Outkast, his nerves screaming in pain, just as he releases a stream of flame from his maw. The Flamethrower singes the back of Outkast’s head, knocking him to the ground. Round Three comes to a close…

    Status: Ears normal. Poisoned by Toxic (though not a direct hit.) 2% damage, doubles each turn.

    16 is the maximum usually but it's up to you.

    Ok Cal good work. Fire another flamethrower x2 and finish with octazooka. If it comes at you with thunderpunch, shroud the area with haze to it cannot see you.

    Round Four, Begin!

    Neither battler shows any sign of slowing down. Hoping to keep the momentum going, Callomuso inhales deeply, creating fire in the pits of his belly. Outkast hacks twice, before coughing up a Toxic, but the stream of flame from Callomuso quickly turns the poison to dust, and nearly incinerates Outkast along with it.

    Callomuso inhales once more, already preparing for another Flamethrower. This time though, the blast of fire meets thin air. As the Octillery takes a gulp of air, he is astonished to find that Outkast has disappeared! Perhaps he was vaporized in the attack?

    Callomuso is still musing over the Abra’s disappearance, when a sphere of extremely painful electricity strikes the back of his head. Outkast grins in triumph as Callomuso hits the ground hard, crackling with electricity, his muscles seizing up. His grin abruptly disappears as he feels a sharp lance of pain in his right lung. The poison is beginning to circulate. Round Four comes to a close…

    Energy: 65%
    Status: Poisoned by Toxic (took 4% damage.) Feeling proud.

    Callomuso (M Octillery)

    Ok Outkast...Callomuso is more likely to be using anything but physical attacks, so...Start with Swagger to try and make it use physical attacks, then use Psychic to lift up Callomuso upsidedown only to drop him on his head, and finish with a thunderpunch!

    Snzz..wha? Huh? We’re back on?

    Ahem..

    Outkast is feeling fairly proud in managing to paralyze his foe. His chest swells with pride, as the Abra begins to laugh quite loudly. Abra's voices are seldom heard, but one thing's for sure- it doesn't sound very cheerful.Callomuso closes his eyes and tries to take it easy, however, and the Swagger is (mostly) ignored. In his condition, there's not much he could have done to attack anyhow.

    Still chuckling to himself, Outkast focuses on the Octiller’y form, bringing his Psychic power to bear. On cue, Callomuso emits sounds waves at a very high frequency from his lungs. The referee cannot hear it, but the sound has an adverse effect of the telepath. Outkast flinches visibly, loosing his concentration.

    Beginning to get peeved, Outkast charges forward, his hand enveloped in electricity. Callomuso watches him closely, building energy within. As Outkast leaps high, ready to attack, Callomuso releases the blast. An orange-white bolt of energy discharges from his maw, striking the Abra squarely in the chest. Outkast lands about fifteen feet away, his body smoking. Callomuso’s head droops, worn out from the heavy attack. Round Five comes to a close…

    Status: Poisoned by Toxic (took 8% damage.) Attempting to get the license plate of that passing truck.

    Callomuso (M Octillery)
    Health: 73%

    Status: Paralyzed. Attacks requiring motion have 50% chance of succeeding. Catching his breath.

    Other:
    DD used REVIVE!
    BATTLE returned to LIFE!
    …However, corpse-like ODOR remains!

    good round, but I was wondering about callomuso being paralyzed, screeching, then hyper beaming, shouldn't he have used more than 12% energy? I mean he took 14% health in that hit to Outkast.

    Well, the paralysis only affects Cal when he moves. I should edit that..Hyper Beam took 11% energy, Screech took 4% energy= 15 total. Relax gave 3% energy back. The damage was because Abra's aren't very physically tough, and it was close range. If you have an issue though, I could make changes.

    Cal did relax, though in the reffing the Taunt did anger him. Still, because of his paralysis he was forced to be calm. Relaxing happened, even if it was brief.

    A swagger is a provocative walk. Closing his eyes should have meant Octillery was not subjected to it. Can you please edit the reffing? There's no sound involved in swaggering.

    I don't mean to double post, but I don't want to edit the last, and I hate to give you so much work Ace64, but, I must asked it be rereffed, or put back the way it was, even if they changed the definition of swagger, and how it is reffed, it would only affect things after the change, not before.

    I agree with you, but I just wanted to wait for Chris' input before making any changes. Otherwise, I might be editing over and over again. Swagger's been reffed in one of my battles as both verbal and physical, which is why I reffed it the way I did. A synonym for swagger is strut, but there is also boasting and arrogance, which I thought would be shown through verbal as well as physical.

    Ok DD thanks a heap for bringing that to my attention. I was going by the game description. Ace if you're up to editing it again, then please do, because DD was very much right in impaling me with my own sword ^^

    I woke up yesterday rather hungover, and spend the hours 12:30 till 10PM shooting a film in Newcastle. Believe me, I'm as exhausted as it gets. And we start filming again at 4PM today! -_-;, urgh. Oh, the professional world of Acting...


    Anyway IIRC the swagger didnt really affect much. Sorry for challenging you Ace.
