Haha, I'm back, and getting the rust off pretty quick seeing I had a year off...ASB is different from when I had a ton of pokés, I still plan to get most of them, and evolve my team, which will take longer, until I get back into reffing...

BTW, anyone see Syb, or some of the other old vets who used to be able to toss me no problem?

Syberia hasn't been active since October. There's a few people who are still active on the forums that used to ASB. Heald, EngiMatikal, Green Lanturn, Raz(ola)

While some have up and gone: The Muffin Man (was banned at one point), Cyrus, Prodigy, Syberia(as mentioned), Indecent Exposure, Mozz (Hikaru).


So anyway, while the forums were down last week, I got into thinking up some business ideas. If you haven't noticed, the only Business that exists, is the Egg Centre set up by Chris. In the past there were Egg Parks, Safari Zones, Casinos, etc. now it seems a little empty. So here's an idea I came up with:

ASB Lottery

The Lottery consists of 8 Pokemon. You buy a ticket anytime during the week leading up to the draw, and on that ticket, you choose four of the 8 pokemon. On the night of the draw, 4 of the 8 pokemon are randomly selected. People who have matches are given different prizes based on how many matches they have.

The Odds are as follows:

Total Numbers of 'balls' in draw: 8
Number of 'balls' selected: 4

Winning Numbers Matched: 4
Odds are 1 in 70

Winning Numbers Matched: 3
Odds are 1 in 4(.37)

Winning Numbers Matched: 2
Odds are 1 in 1(.94)

Winning Numbers Matched: 1
Odds are 1 in 4(.37)

Since the odds of getting 4 matching pokemon are pretty high, the winner would earn something like a free catch/evolution. This prize is usually saved for refs only, and would give non refs a chance at earning a free pokemon. For 3 Numbers Double the cost of a ticket, so basically, your money back and the same again. For 2 Numbers, just your money back, and for 1 number (though the same odds as 3) you get nothing.

Every week the 8 pokemon would be changed, meaning you'd need to buy a new ticket if you wanted to try again.

I only remember one Unown sig (other than my own) in the old ASB. Was it one that summoned shadows of the legendary pokemon? I remeber fighting an Unown that used that with my Hitmontop of the time.

Yes it was, I faced a few legendaries, took them down too, with my :"Lock Jaw" sig, so he had unown float up and over a fence or something, and hid behind the shadow...but, I won, and that made my day, lol

Yeah, with the fact Hidden Power is banned (even if it wasn't, I'd probably never use it, and besides, having to rely on only Hidden Power if it wasn't banned is defiinitely not the way I'd want to go in any battle of mine), not to mention that Unown isn't on the list of banned Pokemon here, shouldn't it be logical for Unown to become a banned Pokemon here just because its only move is banned?

I'd catch an Unown... I'd rather see just Unown be able to use sig moves, personally.

I mean, it wouldn't be completely out of place because the Unown did wierd things in the movie.

Or at the very least, just give all Unowns a "sig" move that would allow them to fight, kind of like how ghosts have a "Phase" move but its not a real attack or anything. Could deal with either legendary pokemon (Entei was created by the Unowns in the movie, IIRC) or it could deal with the crystal formations.

I just saw a post from Mega Horny in the approval tower, saying that his pokémon was not in battle. So if you want to evolve your pokémon it can't be in any battle? Cause I want to evolve one of my pokémon but I think he's fighting somewhere else aswell. I thought there was a rule saying that you could evolve your pokémon if you could show experience and if he would be in another fight you just would continue with the unevolved form.

So what is the ruling nowadays?

Silencer: It just messes things up if you've evolved little Voltorb into Electrode yet he's still a Voltorb in a match. You need to ensure your Pokemon awaiting evolution IS NOT in a match when you choose to evolve it. You will be fined if it is.
