Default Ace64 vs. Razor Leaf (Ref:Elecman EXE)

Howdy. I've got one last spot, and I'd like to fill it up.

    DQ- One Week
Match Type: 3 on 3, one at a time.
Banned Moves: Explosion, etc., Imprison, Destiny Bond, Perish Song, etc., certain Recovery moves (Recover banned but not Giga Drain).
And now for the Arena... *cracks knuckles*

The Multi-Dimensional Room- The battlers fight in a perfect feature-less room, painted a light brown. The floor, walls, and ceiling are completely indestructible, which makes moves like Dig and Rock Slides useless. Earthquake is possible, however. Weather moves are also ineffective, as the room is indoors, as well as certain weather moves (Surf, for example.) Rather boring, at least until Round Three comes up...

Warp By Round 2, the floor beneath the battlers will turn black and ripple like the surface of a pond. By Round 3, and every three rounds after, the fighters will travel through dimension via the portal to another environment. This calls for a shift in battle tactics at all stages of the fight. Any of the following areas will be used:

Sunken City- A great disaster befell this once great metropolis decades ago, and now all that is left are ruins. It is raining constantly here, and the wreckage of buildings, cars, slabs of metal and wood, etc. are the only things left for non-Water Pokemon to stand on. The water level steadily rises each round, making travel more difficult, and by the third Round, battlers will have nearly no room to stand on, making close combat hard to do.

Jumbo Jet- The battlers find themselves in a commercial airline plane cruising at an altitude of 40,000. Narrow aisles and cranks passengers aren't the greatest assets to a battle, so attacks must be planned very carefully. Extensive damage to the plane will cause it to head into a nosedive, or even explode. In case of the latter, both Pokemon will take damage before being warped to another area.

Construction Site- The site of a half-finished building that will probably never be completed. The workers are done for the day, and their equipment lies about waiting to be used. The building is a multi-level skyscraper, but the higher you go, the more unstable the floor becomes, placing you in danger of falling. Try and bring the building down on your opponent!

The Center of the Earth The battlers find themselves in the center of the Earth's core. The heat is incredible here, making all attacks much harder to pull off (with a penalty to energy). A small island surrounded by a pool of lava will be the place for battle here. Ground attacks are extremely effective, as well as fire attacks, while water and lightning are reduced.

We PM choices to ref, I attack first. Any takers? (whew)

Thats an awesome idea for an arena... I'd gladly ref this if I were actually approved... posted a mock-reffing a couple days ago but haven't heard anything back yet.

So spectator for now, unless you still need a ref once I hear back on the mock reffing.

You've been approved on the mock reffing now EXE, so if you wish to ref this match you can. Since I now have an open slot, I'll fill this battling space if you fancy going up against me Ace64. I have plenty of unevolved pokemon.

Sounds good to me, Razor. Elec, you seem pretty enthusiastic, so I'd be glad to have you. I'll PM my first choice, and once you let us know, I'll attack.

Alrighty. Here we are in this strange dimensional rift... thing.

Myself, Razor Leaf, and Ace64 have all been transported here. Ace pulls out and tosses a PokeBall to the ground, and out of it emerges a male Scyther named Relic. Almost simultaneously, RL pulls out his own ball, which opens to reveal Karma the male Kecleon (Karma Chameleon... clever ).

The pokemon glance at each other, then at their trainers, waiting for commands.

    Well,wonderful...

Start off with a Safeguard, Relic.

Use Swagger next to put him off. Make sure you shout, so he can hear you even if he closes his eyes.

If he avoids Swagger anyway, use your speed to get in close for a Steel Wing to the face. If he doesn't avoid it, be ready to Counter a physical move. If Swagger works but he uses a special move, dodge with Agility.

    [b]Safeguard~Swagger~Steel Wing(if Swagger fails)/ Counter(if Swagger works)/Agility(in case of special attack)

Subs: In case of fire attacks, use Swords Dance to reflect them.
In case of ice attacks and rock, use Agility.

That a lot of attacks for one pokemon to remember Karma, what's the betting if we play on some of them, that Relic will get totally confused with what to do? Lets start off with a good old Rock attack Ancient Power, then how about using Screech to drown out the Swagger and put Relic off. Lastly, hmm, how about a Flame Thrower? It's a special attack, it's a fire attack, what to do!?

Well, I just got a nice reminder of why I hate reffing... finished the entire thing, was just finishing up the damage calc and the end of the battle and I hit some button that made my browser go Back like 10 pages, went forward again and the whole reffing is gone.... I swear I have the worst luck in the world.

Anyway, here goes. Let me know if you want a different color or if you disagree with anything.

    Ace64 vs RaZoR LeAf
    Round 1

    *Pre-Round*
    Relic (Male)
    100% HP / 100% EP
    Status: Ready to go
Safeguard ~ Swagger ~ Steel Wing / Counter / Agility (Sub: Swords Dance / Agility)

    Karma (Male)
    100% HP / 100% EP
    Status: Ready to go
    Ancientpower ~ Screech ~ Flamethrower

    Arena Status: Its... brown

    *Battle*
The trainers appear as eager to start the battle as their pokemon do, and they quickly shout out their commands for this, the first round of the dimensional battle.

Relic carefully watches his opponent, expecting a dangerous attack. Karma's eyes begin to glow eerily, as he tries to tap into an ancient power. But he grumbles as he realizes there aren't any rocks for him to use in this strange arena. He decides to attack Relic anyway, and starts charging him. Not exactly intimidated by the small pokemon, Scyther decides to go with his original order. He closes his eyes and concentrates as a luminescent aura surrounds his body. Karma continues charging, and tackles Relic. The bug slides backwards a bit, but isn't really hurt by the attack of the lizard.

Seeing his chance, Relic starts making obscene gestures and verbal taunts, intent on enraging Karma. But the tricky Kecleon has no intention of falling for it, and he quickly opens his mouth and lets out a loud shriek. As the attack resonates around the arena, Relic attempts to continue his taunting, but he is overcome by the shrill cry. He tries to block out the noise by holding his scythe-like arms to his head, but it doesn't help much. Finally, the noise dies down, and Relic glances at Karma only to see him flick his tongue out.

Not exactly happy at the moment, Relic decides to go on the offensive after the failure of his swagger. He flaps his wings rapidly, lifts himself into the air and charges the Kecleon. As he nears the small chameleon, he coats his wings with metal energy. They glint, and he spins his body around to allow his wings to make contact with his foe. The hard wings slam into the lizard, and he is sent flying into the air. Karma lets out a cry of pain, but realizes that this is the perfect opportunity for an attack. He adjusts his airborne body, opens his mouth, and unleashes a searing stream of fire toward the large mantis. Relic has just spun back around and landed on solid ground when he feels the flames engulfing his body. He winces in pain, and as the flames dissipate he opens his eyes to see Karma land a few feet away.

And thus the round ends. Relic takes some comfort in the fact that his Safeguard protected him from any nasty burning, but he isn't exactly happy. Karma grins to himself, satisfied at his performance (though hoping his trainer won't order any more ineffective attacks).

    *Post-Round*
    Relic (Male)
    82% HP / 90% EP
Status: Safeguard in effect (1 full round), ears still ringing (hurts concentration, effect diminishes)

    Karma (Male)
    92% HP / 88% EP
Status: A bit bruised, but happy

Never write anything in the reply box. Use Word, Notepad, whatever, but never write something as long or important as a reffing, fiction, rpg post, etc in the reply box. It's not worth it.

Ok Karma, good start, sorry about the Ancient Power. Lets get things going with a Water Pulse, give Relic a good old soaking. Now follow it up with a Faint Attack to get close and then let loose another Water Pulse.

BTW, Karma is indeed named after the song Karma Chameleon. He is not however, Red, Gold and Green, nor does he come and go.

I know how that is, Elec.

Okay, Relic, we'll go with simple moves that don't require concentration. Use Quick Attack to dodge the blast of water. Since he's using Faint Attack to close the distance, not to attack, let's use the opportunity. Slash him across the belly. Finally, use Mimic to copy Water Pulse and fire it into his wounded belly. Maybe we can confuse him.

Faint Attack gets in close as part of the attack, I'm just clarifying that I don't want karma to suddenly return to a distantance after attacking.

    Round 2

    *Pre-Round*
    Relic (Male)

    Arena Status: Yep... still brown.

    *Battle*
Here in the dimensional rift, Round 2 of this battle is just getting underway. The trainers shout their commands, the pokemon nod in acceptance, and here we go.

Karma the Kecleon is the first to act. Eyeing Scyther, he opens his mouth and fires a splash of water laced with strange sound waves. Relic just grins, and with a quick wing flap he takes to the air and uses his blinding speed to easily avoid the aquatic attack. Not missing a beat, he quickly turns towards his opponent and crashes into him, sending the lizard flying into the air once more. His attack finished, Relic makes a quick landing and watches Karma fall to the ground.

He won't stay down for long, though... Karma quickly gets to his feet as his body blurs, soon becoming completely invisible. The mantis nervously readies his scythes for his attack, though he has no idea where his foe is. After what seems like an eternity, Karma reappears in the air behind Relic and delivers a kick to his wings, knocking him over. He quickly gets himself on his feet, and with one swift movement turns around and slashes the chameleon in the stomach with his left scythe. Karma lets out a cry of pain as he clutches his belly with his hands.

Karma glares at Relic, who is again grinning at him... and decides to whipe that grin off his face. He once again opens his mouth and fires out a burst of sonic water toward Relic. The Scyther doesn't move at all, looking very intently at the attack as though studying it. It hits him square in the face, throwing his head backwards, and as it does so the sonic waves pulse in his ears. Luckily, the Safeguard he previously errected is still in effect, and it protects his mind from the strange effect of the waves. Relic shakes his head to get rid of the water, and having successfully studied Karma's attack, Relic opens his mouth and fires his own watery blast toward the lizard. It hits him square in the stomach, causing a lot of pain but actually washing the wound. Karma cries out in pain again, and puts his hand on his stomach as he kneels.

As the second round draws to a close, the aura around Scyther diminishes, but he is fairly satisfied with his performance. Karma continues clutching his stomach, hoping the pain will subside soon. The battlers notice the ground rippling strangely, though its purely visual and seems to create no real motion. They contemplate the meaning of the rippling as well as their next attack sets as the round ends.

    *Post-Round*

Elec, I forgot to mention- the arena where the battlers Warp to is at random, not in the order I listed.

Alright, Relic, good work. That cut on his belly ought to slow him down, so use an Agility+Toxic combo to move in close, and get that wound all toxic'd up. Since it's clean, we should have no problem infecting it. Then, use a Reversal. I have a feeling that our opponent will take the opportunity to attack us. However, if they do not, Slash his belly once more.

OMG Sorry I totally didn't realise I had to post in this. Unless you've DQ'd me already (though nobody would have got anything, so you may still want to continue. Plus I have posted in the Absence Tower recently) then:

Karma, use Magic Coat to reflect the Poison back onto Relic, then Counter his next attack be it Reversal or Slash. Finish with Thunder. The arena's wet, he's wet. You should have no problem with conductivity.

Yah, I figured it was random Ace. The warp does happen at the end of the round, though, right? I'll assume it happens at the end for the reffing...

Arena Status: Ground is rippling mysteriously

    *Battle*
As the ground continues to ripple strangely, the pokemon seem a bit distracted by it. Their trainers shout their orders for the round, and they immedietly snap out of it and focus on the battle again.

Utilizing his blinding speed to good effect, Relic flutters his wings, takes to the air, and begins moving in a blurr. Quickly realizing the threat, Karma focuses, causing a strange multi-colored aura to surround his body. Relic ignores this, and speeds towards the small chameleon. While in flight, he builds a glob of poison in his mouth, and as he nears Karma he prepares to fire his attack right into his wounded stomach. The mantis fires the glob, but is suprised as the attack bounces off the aura around Karma straight towards him. Still utilizing increased speed, he dodges the liquid as it splatters to the ground behind him, and glares at Karma.

Suprisingly, instead of continuing his assault, Relic lands on the ground and waits for Karma to make a move. Karma has the same idea, and he waits for Relic to do something. Both pokemon just stand there for a good while waiting... they glare at each other, almost like an old time western movie. After a signifigant amount of time, Relic has lost his patience, and he dashes toward Karma, scythe at the ready. Karma grins, and begins glowing with a different aura, this time blue-ish in color. As the Scyther brings his scythe forward for a powerful slash, he is suprised as an unknown force takes effect. He is thrown backwards by this force, feeling a strange pain in the process, though Karma still feels a bit of the attack and whimpers a bit.

Relic shakes his head, still trying to figure out what happened, and meanwhile Karma is on the attack. His body is sparking with electrical energy, and with a cry he sends a large bolt of electricity arcing toward Relic. Distracted, Relic is unable to dodge the attack, and he shrieks as the electricity courses throughout his body. Luckily, his speed attack earlier in the battle dried him off, but the electricity still does a considerably amount of damage to the large bug.

As the pokemon finish up their attacks, they and their trainers look on in suprise as the air all around the arena ripples. The former boring brown room disappears, and the air begins to get very warm. As the ripples subside, the battlers can clearly see that they are in a large cavern of some sort... their are rocks and a considerably sized platform in the middle, but the rest of the area consists of molten magma. Neither pokemon is equiped to cope with this environment, and they look quite uncomfortable. The trainers take into account this change in scenery as they think about their next actions.

    *Post-Round*

Ok Karma, you should have no problem using Ancient Power here, and lets make the air more uncomfortable for Relic with an Icy Wind. Yes, the ice wont be of any use, but it'll still blow the extreme heat around enough to annoy Relic and stop him running about everywhere. Finish with a Rock Tomb, see if we can't cut Relic's speed down to zip.

I'm fine with energy loss, Elec, it makes sense to me.

Counter his Ancient Power. I doubt there's any kind of breeze in the center of the earth, which means he'll have to use energy creating it. Take the opportunity to spit some Toxic into his stomach wound. Finally, after he uses Rock Tomb, use Mimic to use Ancient Power. Throw the same boulders from Rock Tomb back at him.

Eh, the way I ref Mimic is that it lasts the entire battle with whatever move you Mimic'd. So in this case you already Mimic'd Water Pulse, so any future use of the move will resault in Relic using Water Pulse again.

Otherwise, it would be exactly the same as Mirror Move. Plus, in the anime I remember seeing Mimic used to mimic Quick Attack (Walrein vs Ash's Grovyle), and Walrein continued to use Quick Attack till the end of the battle.

And besides, even if I would ref it the other way, it would still only Mimic the move just used, so you'd have to use Mimic right after Ancient Power in order to get that attack.

I absolutely love the new sig though Ace. I'll have to see about making myself one similar to that if I ever decide to stop being lazy :p

    Anyway....

Arena Status: Arena has changed to the earth's core. The hot environment will cause increased energy use on pokemon not suited for the heat

    *Battle*
Round 4! As the trainers and pokemon try to adapt to this new arena, it remains unseen how well they will perform. But it seems we'll find out soon, as the trainers shout their commands quickly and the pokemon get ready to go.

Karma acts first, once more utilizing an ancient spirit. His eyes glow, and this time being in a favorable arena, an assortment of rocks faintly glow and rise up from the ground. The rocks surround him as he charges Relic. The mantis just smiles, and focuses on counterattacking. A faint blue aura surrounds him, the same on that Karma used last round, and as Karma jumps forward surrounded by the glowing rocks, he is suddenly thrown backwards by an unknown force. The rocks around him are scattered, and though Relic winces in pain a bit, the brunt of the attack was redirected to the Kecleon. As he falls to the ground he grunts, and pulls himself up.

Relic watches the lizard fall to the ground, and without hesistation he begins building a poisonous glob in his mouth. Karma, on the other hand, opens his mouth and quickly blows out a fairly powerful cold wind. The wind doesn't stay cold for long in the hot arena, but Karma didn't intend it to. As Relic opens his mouth and snaps his head forward, sending a glob of poison flying straight for Kecleon, he frowns as the wind makes contact with the poison, blowing it off course enough that it splatters on the ground instead of hitting the chameleon. But some stray splatter from the poison manages to hit Karma, and he feels a sharp pain as the poison makes contact with his legs. As it seeps in, the wind continues on, blowing around Relic and reminding him how uncomfortable this arena is for him.

Relic once more goes on the offensive. He attempts to Mimic the Kecleons action, but having already commited an attack to memory, he is forced to just use that. He opens his mouth and blasts a burst of sonic-laced water toward Karma. The temperature in the arena weakens the attack some, but it also heats the remaining water up. As Karma prepares for his attack, eyes glowing once more, he shrieks as the hot water scalds his body. Angry now, he stamps his foot on the ground, and aided telekineticly a few rock spires jut out of the ground around Relic. He takes a bit of damage as the rocks knock him around, but worse, he is now trapped between the rocks.

As Relic struggles with trying to escape from the rocks, both pokemon are breathing more heavily than before, an unpleasent reminder of the effects of the arena.

Alright, that's fine Elec. And if you like the banner, look for Saffire Persian's shop in Fanart. She made this one for me.

Relic, let's try a Rock Smash to break free of those rocks. Next, go with Agility, to be ready for what's coming next. Finally, use a Reversal to try and toss Karma into his own rocks.

Use Flame Thrower towards the rocks to give Relic a roasting, then Snatch the Agility away from him. Finish by Countering the Reversal.

The trainers watch in despair as their pokemon struggle in this hot arena, though the trainers themselves aren't very comfortable either. As they shout their commands, the pokemon nod and the round begins.

Relic, trapped between a few rock spires, acts first to free himself. Carefully focusing his blows on the tip of his scythes, he stabs the rock towers in front of him, causing them to split. They crumble to the ground, freeing him from his rocky prison. But as he frees himself, he lets out a loud cry as a stream of intensified fire engulfs him, courtesy of Karma the Kecleon, who took advantage of Relic's attempts to free himself to loose the fiery attack. As the flames sear the bug type, he winces and cries out. Finally the flames dissipate, though Relic's body has taken a large amount of damage from the attack, and conducted quite a severe burn as well.

With some difficulty, Relic prepares himself to utilize his speed once more. But Karma has a trick up his... uh, sleeve I suppose. His eyes glow with a faint black aura, and a similar aura surrounds Scyther. Mysteriously, his speed seems to be robbed from him. He looks on confused until he sees Karma glow, and thereafter he quickly dashes much faster than a lizard should. The large mantis glares at Kecleon, angry.

Karma continues to dash around the arena, then suddenly stops, as if urging Relic to attack. Relic is happy to oblidge, and he runs toward the chameleon, intending to use his disadvantage to fuel a powerful attack. Kecleon concentrates, and a faint aura once more surrounds his body. As Relic nears his target, ready to attack, the aura forces him backwards, causing him a good amount of pain at the same time. He groans, as Karma sticks out his tongue at him.

As the round draws to a close, both pokemon continue to tire rapidly. The floor once more starts to ripple, signaling another warp in the near future. The trainers contemplate their next attacks as Scyther struggles with the pain of his burns, and Karma winces a bit, still effected by the poison in his system.

You did well Relic, but you won't last too much longer. Still, let's see if we can draw this out for one more round. If we can just outlast him..

You can't dodge it, but you can still Protect! Hopefully, it won't wear you out, as it's weakened down here.

Next, let's use the environment. Use a Quick Attack to dodge behind the pillars created from Rock Tomb. Those flames are powerful, but they can't pass through solid rock. If for some reason the rocks cannot be used for cover, Endure the hit instead.

Finally, all of your moves are physical, so we have no choice. Step out from behind the rock barrier, and release a Hyper Beam at full power. I'm not sure how you're going to ref this, Elec, since a "stream of liquid, gas, or energy" is considered a special attack according to the beta attack list. It's really up to you. Either way, I'm counting on the strain of the attack over actual damage.

Round 6, and Relic seems to be wearing out in this arena. His trainer encourages him to try and keep it up for one more round... he nods slowly as Karma also nods at his trainer's orders.

Karma starts the round off by channeling electric energy. His body sparks, and he launches a quick burst of electricity towards Relic. Acting quickly, Relic concentrates, forming a faint barrier around his body. The sparks make contact with the barrier, coursing all over the shield but not penetrating it. Relic sighs in relief as the electricity is absorbed into the ground, and drops his shield.

Not intending to let Relic get away with that, Karma opens his mouth, building heat energy in it. He fires off a stream of flames toward Scyther. Determined not to fall, he quickly takes to the air with a few beats of his wings, and using his speed retreats to the rock spires previously errected by Karma. He ducks behind the tallest as the flames speed on. As they reach the spire, they superheat the rock, but are not able to peirce it. Parts of the fire split off on either side of the spire, and the heat still deals minor damage to Relic, but it appears that he has avoided the brunt of the assault.

Karma looks questioningly at the spire, wondering if he managed to toast the big bug... he's just about to relax in victory when Relic jumps out from behind the spire, mouth open and a large orb of energy forming within his mouth. Angry, the Kecleon's eyes glow a rainbow of colors as he emits a beam of psychic energy from them. The beam hits Scyther dead on, but he holds on doggedly, and finished charging his attack, fires the huge beam of pure energy straight at Karma. He cries out as the energy hits his body, causing extreme pain all around. He falls to the ground, and as he pulls himself up its obvious that he is exausted. Relic nearly collapses in pain, falling to his knee's and holding himself up with his scythes.

As the pokemon struggle, the air ripples rapidly. The hot arena fades away, and rainfall is heard as the battlers, their pokemon, and myself appear in a destroyed city. The streets are already flooding in this place of tradgedy... the battlers appear on the top of a metal "raft" of sorts, while both Karma and Relic end up standing on overturned cars in the middle of the flooding street. As the battlers think how they are going to use this arena to their advantage, the round closes.

If you want, Razor, we could each switch out Pokemon and PM the choice to the ref again. I'd prefer that, over making every second move Relax. I'm out in one hit, and the energy cost would leave you down in that round, maybe one more if you're lucky. What do you think?

Okay, Firefly, let's see what you can do.

Start off with a Signal Beam, zoom in close with Aerial Ace, then nail him with an Ice Punch.

    Signal Beam~Aerial Ace~Ice Punch

His powders aren't going to have too much range in this rain, but if he tries to nail you with powder or poison when you come closer, blast it back with Silver Wind.

If he tries to pull you close with vines, snap him with an Ice Punch..

    *Battle*
With both trainers using fresh pokemon, it seems Round 7 is going to be quite the exciting one. The trainers shout their commands, the pokemon nod and face each other for the first time.

Firefly makes the first move. He turns around, facing his tail bulb towards the flytrap pokemon. The light flashes, sending out a red and blue beam towards Triffid. The grass type focuses, and begins spinning in a trance-like state. The spinning doesn't help much against the bug-type beam, which makes direct contact with the spinning pokemon, surrounding her entire body with a flashing red and blue energy before disappearning. As she stops spinning, she looks extremely focused on battle. not at all bothered by the previous attack.

Triffid gazes intensely at Firefly, waiting for him to make himself vulnerable. Unknown to him, she is building up poison in her mouth. Carrying out his order, the Volbeat flaps his wings, taking to the sky (with some difficulty due to the rain), and speeds straight at Triffid with blinding speed. Weepinbell sees her chance, and she opens her mouth, spitting out the goo straight at the charging bug. It makes a direct hit, coating him in poison. He continues his attack, slamming Triffid and sending her flying. the wet ground, and hops up to dry ground on another car, as Firefly lands on the car she used to be on, trying to rid himself of the poison on his body. His efforts along with the rain help some, but the accuracy of the attack allowed plenty of the poison to seep into his blood stream.

Angry, Firefly beats his wings and once more takes to the sky. He flies toward Triffid, fist radiating a cold energy. The grass type watches the attack intently, remembering each step in order to excecute it herself. Firefly swings his fist foward, slamming the Weepinbell hard while at the same time the blue energy chills her. She grunts, but then suprisingly her leaf begins radiating a similar blue energy. She whips it forward, smashing Volbeat with the same attack he used on her, but even more vicious due to her intense focus.

As the round closes, both pokemon glare at one another, in close proximity to one another. Firefly winces as the poison continues its course through his body, and Triffid smiles.

Yeah, I had the same feeling.

We can fight back with status afflictions, too. Let her make contact with you, then use Thunder Wave to ground her.

If she can move, use Shadow Ball to knock her away from you. If she cannot, use Psych Up to borrow her stat boost.

If she can get off that Sludge Bomb, use Silver Wind to attack, and push that poison right back at her. If she can't use that attack boost to generate a good strong Focus Punch

As the rainfall continues here in this once great city, the battle rages. The pokemon stare each other down as the trainers issue their orders.

Firefly braces himself, knowing he has to let Triffid get into range before he can execute his own attack. Triffid looks at the bug pokemon, intently focused. She suddenly rushes forward, straight at Firefly. Using her leafs as dangerous weapons, she violently whips them forward, repeatedly striking Volbeat in a frenzy. He winces and groans in pain as the powerful grass type strikes him again and again. Dealing her final blow, Triffid uses her head and rams Volbeat, sending him flying a few feet. Though in pain, Firefly quickly flaps his wings, stopping himself in the air. His tail light pulsates as he sends out barely visible, low-powered waves of electricity in a circle around his body. As the waves pass through Triffid, who looks to have a bit of a bruise on her head from her attack, she feels a tingling sensation.

The flytrap pokemon doesn't think anything of it as she continues her attack. Using knowledge from the last round, she again builds up an icy blue aura on her leaf. Jumping forward, she brings her leaf forward, striking Firefly in the face with the cold punch. He staggers backwards a few steps, then shakes his head and glares. Holding his hands out, he builds up an orb of energy between them. With a cry he whips his hand forward, sending the ball flying at Triffid. She shrieks as the ball explodes, sending her flying backwards and at the same time causing her great pain. She steers herself in the air toward the back of a car sticking out of the rising water, and winces as she crashes into it. Volbeat grins.

Enraged, Triffid begins building up a viscous blob of poison in her mouth. A bit suprised that the plant is showing no signs of paralysis, Firefly gets ready to counterattack. As Weepinbell opens her mouth, firing the bomb of poison straight at the bug, he takes to the sky once more. Furiously flapping his wings, he creates a strong wind, containing silver-colored bug energy. As the wind blows, the poison blob is sent off course, though the wind is not nearly strong enough to rout the attack back to the original source. The poison splashes into the water, as the wind blows around Triffid, the bug energy contained in it pelting the grass type as she grunts.

The rain continuing, it seems that the arena is getting more and more difficult to use. Even the cars are almost completely submerged in the rising water, and the 2 pokemon make their way to the top of their respective platforms, trying to avoid the liquid. As they do so, Firefly once more feels the poison coursing through his body, and he groans in pain. Under the water, barely visible, the ground once again starts rippling, signalling another change in scenery in the near future.

The pokemon are getting dangerously close to being submerged in the rising water. The trainers frantically shout their commands, and the pokemon nod in reply.

Firefly acts first, intending to copy Triffid's focus. Holding his hands to his head, his eyes glow faintly. Using psychic power, he probes the grass type's mind, recieving a boost in focus. As he stops concentrating, he glances at Triffid. He see's her clapping her leafs and cheering. Firefly grins, suddenly happy that he impressed the Weepinbell.

Under the trance of fame, Volbeat once again holds his hands to his head, concentrating. Triffid grins to herself, and builds up a glob of strong poison in her mouth. Taking advantage of Volbeat's concentration, she quickly spits out the poisonous glob. Its right on target, and it splatters all over Firefly's body. He shrieks, suddenly snapped out of his concentration by the poison entering his body. Angry, he glares at Triffid, knowing he's been tricked.

Seeing that she is not in the water, the bug type turns around, facing his tail toward the tricky flytrap. His tail flashes, a blue and red beam emitting from it. The bright colored energy surrounds Triffid's body, making her screech as the bug essence flows around her. As Volbeat cuts off the light and stops the beam, he turns and glances at Triffid. He chuckles at what he sees. The grass type's paralysis has finally taken hold, and she twitches as she struggles to move. The water level is still rising, and she is about to be submerged beneath the water, unable to move.

Suddenly, the scenery of the ruined city starts rippling rapidly. The falling rain disappears, along with the crumbling buildings and flooded streets. All appears blank for a minute, and then suddenly another building fades into sight. Its not a complete building, however. Construction equipment is gathered all around, and the 2 combatants and their pokemon appear just in front of the skyscraper in progress. Triffid sighs in relief as she regains muscle control, while Firefly groans as the intensifying poison once more takes hold of him.

Ok Triffid lets start by Ingraining yourself into the ground to get some nutrients back. Next send a volley of Razor Leafs in Volbeat's direction, and finish with Secret Power

Subs: If Volbeat comes close then let loose a cloud of [b]Stun Spore[b]

If the ref considers Ingrain a Recovery Move then replace it with Flash

Hmm. The attack boost/focus isn't mentioned in the reffing, but I'll assume Firefly recieved it?

With Triffid paralyzed, and the rain gone, you should be able to move first. Firefly, move in close enough to cause Triffid to release Stun Spore, then use Silver Wind to blow it away and deal some damage. Your boosted attack should give you the strength to push it away without a problem. As long as you stay close, Triffid should release spores until the round ends.
Silver Wind x 3(move in close)

However, if Ingrain is legal, Mimic it and perform it yourself. Then, Shadow Ball volley.
    Sub:[b]Mimic~Shadow Ball x 2

I didn't include the increased attack because he doesn't have it any more.... Psyche Up copies the exact mental state of the victim. Since Triffid's focus was going to be lost at the end of the round, it would make sense that after using Psyche Up, Firefly would lose it at the same time. It was in effect for that round, but you didn't really use anything that would take advantage of it, since even though its a bug type Signal Beam is still an energy attack, not physical.

I'm not a fan of permanent stat boosts. Doesn't make sense to me that being focused would last forever... *shrug*

And yes, I do consider Ingrain a recovery move. The only moves that aren't recovery moves but give you more HP are ones that do damage and "leech" the HP. Leech Life, Absorb/Mega Drain/Giga Drain and Dream Eater. And "maybe" Swallow, I've never had to deal with that one but from the description it sounds like Stockpile drains HP (Or energy?)

I've got a lot of stuff to do today, but I'll try to get the reffing up later on... if not, then definately tommorow.
