Default Kratos Aurion vs. Myster Myuu | Ref: RaZoR LeAf

Wellp, this would be my first ASB battle, so if you don't mind I'm looking for either another newbie or else someone who'll go easy on me... you know, not let me win or anything, just no big scary evolved Pokemon that will bite my head off without blinking. Anyone up to the challenge of facing off against a complete and total amateur?

    Rules:

    DQ Time: 1 week

Banned Attacks: Recovery Moves (including leech moves like Giga Drain), OHKO moves, Explosion/Self Destruct/Memento, Destiny Bond/Grudge, Perish Song, Attract, Substitute, Dig, Surf, Dive, etc., Rock Slide, etc. Anything else is a go.

Match: Just a straightforward 2-on-2, one at a time; I'm still trying to get a feel for this. No evolved Pokemon, please, although non-evolvers (Stantler, Plusle, etc.) are fine. Purely aquatic/swimming Pokemon, such as Goldeen, are also highly discouraged; there will not be any water (also why there is no Surf, Dive, etc).

Arena: However much I enjoy creative locales for my stories and such, I'd like to start out slow (having no idea what I've gotten myself into, after all). Well, okay, maybe a little elaborate... here goes:

    The Kanto Stadium, SSBM-style!

My staunch opponent and semi-divine referee might be familiar with Super Smash Bros. Melee, and if so then you know what I'm talking about. If not, though, it looks like your standard arena: green floor with a Pokeball in the center, very low barriers around the edges. There are two things that make this place unique among Pokemon arenas, however.

First of all, a platform levitates low (approximately five feet) over each end of the field (one on the left, close to the edge, and one on the right, close to the edge). Despite the fact that nothing supports them, they are just as stable as the original arena and Pokemon can dodge and leap onto them, launch attacks from them, etc. The design of the platforms is a smaller version of that of the main arena.

The second difference is much more intriguing. The Kanto Stadium is not your usual ground floor affair... on the contrary, it, like the platforms, is suspended above the ground- forty feet above the ground, that is. While a Flying-type should have no problem with this and could even duck underneath the field for a quick reprieve, Pokemon that cannot fly or levitate will obviously fall if they happen to trip or get pushed over the edge. An invisible barrier hangs beneath the arena to catch any battlers that fall; while the Pokemon will not be hurt if it falls it WILL result in an automatic KO, so watch your step! A Pokemon can, of course, make an attempt to grab at ledges with vines, claws, etc, so long as it is a reasonable/logical one. No having your Pichu fall thirty-nine-and-a-half feet, nearly touch the invisible barrier and then magically reaching up with its stubby little arm and miraculously grabbing on. Come on, you're all smart and fair people, right? (This is why Dig is banned; because the arena is above the ground, a Pokemon that tries to dig to any significant depth at all will automatically fall through the bottom. There are also no rocks for Sliding, nor is their any water for swimming, Surfing, etc.)

There is also a cheering crowd in raised seats, which may or may not be distracting depending on the Pokemon's temprament, and a big-screen scoreboard that has no real effect on the match (or does it? How creative are you?). If the ref so desires, he can incorporate the scoreboard (which I guess would display the battlers' current stats, etc.) into his/her reffing. Or not, it doesn't matter.

...I know that the SSBM arena changes to Fire, Water, Grass and Rock phases, but like I said I'd like to keep it simple. Therefore, the regular green Kanto Stadium appearance is in effect for the entire battle.

A side note for any ref brave enough to enter: If you're the sort of ref who posts in various colors, please refrain from posting anything in dark text that doesn't stand out from the background. Red, white, green, bright blue/purple... that's fine, just nothing dark. I'd like the text of my first match to be easy on my astigmatic eyes, please.

I send out first, challenger attacks first. PM your first choice to the ref first; if your Pokemon faints, PM the ref your second choice. I have a quick question about that, though: Do we just PM the ref the Pokemon and its name, etc, or do we need move lists or something?

Any takers? Any human companionship at all?

...Oh, and I could use a ref. That'd be nice.

So it's basically the SSBM arena, without the changes? I can do that, I've used the same arena myself (albeit, with 17 different type based changes, which is fun). The only dark colours I use are for attacks of, funnily enough Dark

So you're willing to ref? Cool! So, uh, the question I had... what information exactly do we send you about the battlers?

Just the pokemon species, it's nickname if applicable and it's gender. Oh, and if it's shiny or not. Movesets don't mean anything in ASb, a pokemon is capable of using any attack it can learn in any of the games it has been in (excluding non-rpg games like TCG, Ranger, or NYPC Moves)

Okie dokie then! Here comes me!

All righty then, Chazz! Zubats are annoying and zippy, so increase your own speed (and strength) with Dragon Dance! Then hook her and draw her in with an Aerial Ace so she doesn't get away from you; when you've got her at point-blank range, sock her with your Flaming Salamander Death Fist of TeH DoOm!... uh, I mean, a Fire Punch!

MWQAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You dont know the half of how annoying and zippy a zubat can be! I think RL knows all about that since he has a nice Crobat of his own

Now, to demonstrate that point, Zubat, start things off by being a little Thief and Snatching the Power and Speed boost from that leezard! Next, let's rain on his parade by doing a little dance of our own... Rain Dance! Finally, since out advisary is gonna get in for a close range attack, take advantage of this and finish this round off by sinking your teeth into that little leezard with a Poison Fang! yeaaa, inject that highly toxic venom into its system!

Snatch - Rain Dance - Poison Fang

hehehe here leezard, leezard, leezard

~Godzilla shows up and glares at me~

... I think Im gonna need a bigger box... :'(

    * Pre-Battle *

Arriving at Kanto Stadium, the audience pile in and start digging in to popcorn and fizzy drinks, while they wait for the combatants to arrive. They both arrive on time, and in style, with Master Myuu bursting out of a mail order box, and Kratos Aurion descending from the heavens. The crowd are instantly impressed and their roars only spur the trainers on more. They release their pokemon onto the arena, as they themselves are moved away, leaving Chazz, a shiny Charmander, and an unnamed Zubat alone on the metal platform, ready to do battle for the first time.

    Kratos Aurion & Chazz

    Master Myuu & Zubat

    * Round One Begins *

Chazz grins as he begins to dance, in a strange ritualistic manner that dates back to the ancient traditions of the dragons. Shadows of other dragons appear around him, their outlines and shapes expanded and made more visual on the big screen, yet each one is only a shadow of it's former self. As the dance ends, they are all sucked back within Chazz, who instantly feels the speed and strength of his ancestors flow through him. The crowd applaud, but are suddenly in uproar, as a black smoke surrounds Chazz, and all his hard earned abilities are drained away and transferred to Zubat, who was eagerly watching, waiting for the right time to snatch it away.

The shiny charmander, left feeling alone and empty once again, while his enemy feasts on the grace of the dragons, he lurches forward, running as fast as he can, ready to take a sharp swipe at Zubat. The poison type, flapping slightly above ground is staring up to the sky. Fortunately, the roof has been retracted for this match, and the skies are visible above. As dark clouds begin to form overhead, Zubat is dealt a sharp shock, as Chazz rakes his talons across her frail body.

A downpour from the heavens starts, leaving Chazz feeling utterly devastated, and more than a little irritated, that nothing is going his way.  His fist becomes surrounded in intense flames, though they are quickly dampened by the rainfall. the fire type slams this fist into Zubat's body, causing more damage from the punch itself than the fire. Zubat isn't one to give up so easily though, not after such a good start. She drops down, clamping her fangs into Chazz' neck, and lets her sharp teeth pierce the skin. With the falling rain, the small amount of poison she secretes is washed away all too quickly, but Chazzs is left with a painful wound that isn't going away yet.

The crowd are going wild, with some rooting for the downtrodden Chazz, while others are wild with excitement over Zubat's excellent introductory battle. The big screen flashes between battlers, combatants and the audience, it looks like this battle will be a blinder.

Weeee! Great job Zubat, you did magnificantly. Now, let's capitalize on that wonderful opening round! Start off by trying to confuse Chazz with your Confuse Ray! Next, give him a headache with a brutal Wing Attack to the head! Finish this round off by giving Chazz a nice Shadow Ball to chew on!

Confuse Ray - Wing Attack - Shadow Ball

Me no thinkie so, Myster Myuu, 'cause from where I'm standing Chazz here is in better shape then your little flying possum. Shall we keep it that way? Use Protect to render Zubat's Confuse Ray useless! Then we can try another Dragon Dance... or should it be Dragon Dance-out-of-the-way-of-the-Wing-Attack-as-well? Finally, give that obnoxious rat with wings a taste of her own medicine... Bite her, and bite her good, my little Manjoume Thunder! (Damn Typhlosion and Blaziken, being able to learn Thunderpunch while the Charmander line can't... makes no sense at all...)

Protect - Dragon Dance (to escape Wing Attack) - Bite

Just thought you might like to know that Snatch lasts for several rounds (depending on the ref's discretion). At least thats what the description in the ABS attack list says. So continue to use Dragon Dance all you want. I dont mind one bit In fact, I implore you to use it 3 times next round

Dont worry though, everyone makes slips like that sometimes. I know I have on more than one occasion ^_^;; Feel free to make more though and Ill be happy to reap the benefits MWQAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

An no editing your attack because I pointed this out either. That would be cheating!

Snatch steals the attack used, it doesn't continue to snatch constantly.

Snatch (DK) – The user places a curse on the opponent which prevents them from using any recovery moves or status boosting attacks on themselves for the next few rounds. If the victim does use one, then the Snatch-er gains the benefits.
That's from the ASB Attack List Beta tower. That's what I was basing what I said on.

The Attack List Beta is just guidelines, it doesn't necessarily dictate exactly how an attack should be done. I go on the game's use of Snatch, that it steals a boost if used at the same time. In which case, if you want to do your attacks again with this in mind, go ahead. If not, please say so, and I'll ref Snatch as I've mentioned.
