[Hyperness is a Good Thing]

[size=9pt] Craven was feeling wet, but also exhilarated. It was SO COOL!

She was fidgeting anxiously, waiting for the trainers to go on to their next moves.

"Come on Xvin, you can do better then that! Show this big lizard why you're legendary!" the girl said confidently, pumping her fist into the air. Xvin remained cool and calm, but it was quite clear he was tensing up, ready to unleash his next combination of devastating attacks.

"Chammpion! Watch out for that Lightning and use a Double team to confuse the opponent," the boy called out. His hair was all plastered down and he looked pretty drenched, but so did everyone else.

Chammpion got to his feet, and he shook his head. His movements seemed to be a little slow and uncoordinated, probably some remaining damage from the thunder. His large body shimmered, and 5 other large Charizards appeared around him.

"Alright Xvin... he thinks he can confuse us? Let's see him dodge this... use Shock Wave! He seems to be a bit shaken up or paralyzed, and with the added rain... I'm guessing your electrical attacks are going to be hard to defeat. So let's keep that electricity about your body... power up for a Thunderbolt and follow it up with the power of the storm with a Thunder!"

Xvin gave a slight nod, and his body starting sparking up again, as Craven watched with fascination. She glanced down at her handheld machine, which was also recording all that was going on, analysing and providing necessary stats. What a wonderful mechanism!

Little bolts of pure lightning energy flew towards Chammpion, faster than the eye could see, but using the PokeReader, Craven was allowed to replay it in slow motion. The Charizard and his clones all attempted to dodge, but they were too slow. A barrage of sparks hit them, and Chammpion’s left wing started twitching, as if it was out of his control.

The boy wiped the droplets of rain out of his hair and eyes, rather futilely though. "Chammpion head straight in and hit it with a Focus Punch."

The Charizard blinked a little, and moved forward, but it was clear he seemed rather jerky and unsteady. He raised his right paw which was glowing an unearthly white.

Xvin focused, and a jagged bolt zig zagged down, striking the large Charizard, who despite taking heavy damage, continue his slow rush forward, and his right fist slammed straight into the Raikou, who was knocked back again, but managed to keep on his feet.

Craven whistled lowly, astonished at the Charizard, whose determination was truly formidable. According to the PokeReader, he was suffering from extensive nerve damage, and would probably have problems moving. It was amazing that he had even managed to complete his Focus Punch.

Chammpion reared up to his full height, trying to look defiant, even though it was plain that he was trembling all over.

"Alright Chammpion you're doing good, finish it off with a Mega Kick!" his trainer yelled, trying to raise the large dragon’s spirits.

Xvin gave no quarter, and once again, an enormous bolt of electricity struck right at the Charizard, who collapsed yet again into a trembling, twitching heap. His eyes fluttered open and shut rapidly, and his limbs convulsed and twisted.

Craven immediately consulted the PokeReader.

Chammpion, Charizard. Health: 50%, Energy: 73%. Status: Severely paralysed, might encounter extreme difficulty moving.

She then shifted it over to Xvin, who seemed perfectly fine.

Xvin, Raikou. Health: 70%, Energy:71%. Status: Confidence is really building up, and in his element.

With a quick movement of her head, Craven flicked her hair and some rainwater out of her eyes, intent of watching this battle to the end. Things seemed to be going pretty badly for Chammpion. She shook her head.

[color=royalblue]Kalah watched proudly as Xvin seemed to take her words to heart and he went full-out upon Ryan’s Charizard. Kalah didn’t feel a moment’s hesitation upon battling Ryan… for it was a friendly battle, and their pokemon seemed to be enjoying the challenge. Shade- her Umbreon – fidgeted slightly to the side of her, obviously picking up on the tension of the battle and she was beginning to get slightly eager as well. Smiling however, Kalah watched as Xvin stood strongly and stared intensely at the Charizard. “Okay Xvin… make sure to keep your body charged so in case he wants to try to touch you again.” Kalah commented as Xvin gave a low growl and electricity seemed to sparkle and crackle about his body. “Let’s give you some time to power up and charge your electricity… this Charizard seems to be getting slower and slower, so let’s speed up and use Double Team ! Try to avoid any of his attacks but wait for a moment of weakness and then fire up a powerful Hyper Beam! Don’t worry then either… because you’ll be fast enough so dodge his attacks while you charge up again, alright Xvin? You can do it!” Kalah cheered, feeling the rain pelt down upon her and soak her clothes… but it didn’t bother her. She loved her pokemon and watching Xvin was always an amazing sight.

Description: Darkfire stands at an average 5’5” tall, with decent curves and a slightly pale complexion despite often being in the sun. Her waist is thin and her muscles tight from often working or running errands, literally at a run. She has very dark red hair that seems to turn black without any red on it, and her eyes are deep blue.
Personality: She is a bit of a loner at times, preferring the company of Pokémon sometimes to people. But she can swiftly either be attracted to, or repelled by, the personality of some people. She can be shy, but often her boisterous, excited side comes over her shyness. She often has conflicting emotions within her, and so she is quiet most of the time. However, once she gets started, she won’t stop anytime soon. She is bad when she has to think things through, usually second guessing herself and doing the wrong things. However, when she has to think on the spot and react rapidly, she is either very intuitive, or very lucky. In battle, this is a priceless ability for her.

As she grew up in Tilumara, she has become bitter towards the Syndicate for ruining her childhood. Her parents were lost on that fateful day on April 22, and since then she has become wary of strangers, no matter how much she likes them at first. Only her friends are allowed to see all of her personality.

Darkfire looked around herself slowly. The room she was in was dark from lack of electricity, as she was used to. How long had it been since she had had a bed warmed from anything but her own body, had food in her house, had voices of friends and loved ones in the empty halls of her home? She was lucky to have running water and sympathetic people who helped her get an occasional meal in her stomach.

It had been so long since she had heard from her only human friend left in the world, Yoi. The separation was nearly unbearable for the young woman. She opened the dusty window and basked in the warmth of the morning light. Once upon a time she had not been a morning person. Now, she lived to know the sun would always rise and bring warmth and light to her bleak world.

She poked her head out of the second story window that had once been her room, and found herself face to bark with a large, thick tree. She grabbed a branch and hoisted herself upward. She passed the third story and soon found herself eye-level to the nearly flat roof of her home. She grabbed onto the gravel-like surface, and bounced onto tiptoes to get her best start before she bounced back down onto her heels, rocking the branch, and leapt onto the roof.

A small string of unsociable language came as she scratched her arms on the rusty and broken lining of the roof, but at least she was up. She dragged the rest of her body, ripping the hems of her last pair of good jeans, and finally planted her feet on the solidity of the roof.

A large blue bird soared from the tree and began to circle her, chirping frantic questions at her. She smiled up at the Taillow in reassurance and stood to her full height. Darkfire walked to the edge of the roof opposite of the large looming tree and peered out over Tilumara’s ancient-looking town. She ignored the stinging of her new wounds and the feel of blood seeping slowly down her arms to her wrists as she closed her eyes. From her position on the southern side of the house, she could just hear the distant cry of gull Pokémon and the sound of the ocean. She could easily still smell salt, as half of the city was surrounded by the ocean, even though her house was the farthest north it could be.

“I wish they hadn’t banned mail,” Darkfire said, her eyes opening as she faced the Taillow named Soar. He perched on her shoulder and gave a soft high against her ear. He had been with her for two years, her birthday present when she had been about to start her trainer’s journey. But the same year her mother had fallen ill, so she had stayed home. One year ago to this day, she had gone on route to catch her first Pokémon, and had succeeded, miraculously, in obtaining a Gastly. As if to answer her trainer’s silent summon, Haunt appeared out of no where and hovered off of Darkfire’s shoulder on the opposite side of Soar.

“I miss Yoi, you know,” their trainer sighed softly and pulled a small, crumpled picture of another girl out of her pocket. She gazed longingly at the only person who called her ‘friend’, even though they had never met face to face. “I think having a pen-pal was the only way we could have pulled through. The Syndicate,” she spat the word like a foul curse, “has recently gotten so much worse.”

“Low,” Soar agreed.

“Gastly,” Haunt sighed, looking dramatic.

“Come on you two, it’s time we high-tailed it out of here. I don’t care if I have a license or not,” Darkfire’s dark blue eyes seemed to blacken with hatred as she saw a passing Syndicate member saunter down the road just in front of her house. One year ago today, was the anniversary of her parents’ murder. “We can find Yoi out there,” she turned her back on the south and gazed to the desert in the north. She hoped Yoi had received the last letter Darkfire had sent her, containing info on how to contact her through her PokeNav.

She reached up and drew two Pokéballs. Soar had been her official starter Pokémon, and she had used her father’s Pokéball to get Haunt. Both ghost and bird obediently returned to the spheres in which they lived as to not arouse suspicion. If anyone who had a grudge against Darkfire had known about her two companions, they would have been taken from her, forever. The crystal Syndicate didn’t want trainers crawling under their noses.

A bitter taste of fear on her mouth, Darkfire managed herself back down the tree, gaining a few more cuts for her effort, and crept into her parent’s room. Here, she found her mother’s large black bag she had used when she had been a trainer, even if for a short while. She then grabbed a black bandana, wrapped it up, and secured it around her forehead. She then looked up slowly and gazed at herself in the mirror. Fear was replaced with a stabbing pain. She looked skinny and pale, mostly form lack of food and suffering from the growing oppression of Tilumara.

“Mom, Dad,” she whispered as if they gazed at her. Her heart raced and she swallowed hard. She said no more and left, grabbing the last of her money, a measly $200. That was all that was left after her house had been raided. After the blood was cleaned from the walls but still she knew it had soaked into the wood. After… everything. Her breaking point was reached where she would attack anything that crossed her path. Suffering had blinded her with hatred, and weakened her with hopelessness.

She stole out of the house and locked the door. Not that it mattered, if anyone came to search her home. They had broken her front door down before, one year ago. She stared long and hard at the shattered lines that marred the wood, then turned and left without shedding a single tear. The longer she dwelled on the past, the more she feared she would break beyond broken and commit acts she would never be able to repay.

She played absentmindedly with Soar and Haunt’s Pokéballs as she traveled to the northern route. It was there she was finally given a chance to pay back some wrongs done to herself and her town. Before here was a mail truck, stalled by a member of the Crystal Syndicate. Darkfire hissed through her teeth softly, her heart pounding with anger. Those letters belonged to her, and they belonged to others who wanted word from the outside.

“Haunt,” she whispered and opened one Pokéball. Her Gastly materialized beside her. “Hypnosis.”

She watched as her Gastly approached the Syndicate member. “What?” was his startled shout before he fell pray to her Pokémon’s attack. He collapsed to his side and gave a loud snore. Darkfire felt a wave of disgust and crept out of her hiding spot before the mailman attacked her Gastly.

“Please, deliver those letters. There are people who are still hoping beyond hope in Tulimara,” she said, her voice soft.

“Thank you,” he replied. “Surely it’s not as bad as you’re implying, though.”

“It is worse. Not everyone may suffer like I have, but how cheerful can one remain if it gets an ounce worse?” she asked. The man scratched the back of his head slowly and nodded reluctant agreement.

The mailman said and started on his way into town. Darkfire waved after him, cheerful, as it was just hitting her that now she was finally on her way. She recalled her Gastly and turned back to the north. Before her spread out the desert-like wasteland known as Route 260.

My head shot up as I heard the sound of a familiar horn. "Mail's here! Let's go, Stooge!" Stooge the Doduo stood up and stumbled around a bit as the two heads argued on which one would take the lead. I sprang up and sprinted out of the house, making a beeline for the mailbox. I opened it up and pulled out a brown box bearing the seal of Sotai. "Here it is..."

Stooge ran up to me and honked happily. I rubbed both heads and showed him the package. "I finally got it! Some money, a couple of pokeballs, my Pokedex, my Pokenav, and..." I pulled out another pokeball that felt like it had some extra weight to it. Attached to it was a tag that read "Your Starter Pokemon". Let's see what they got me. I opened it and gasped.

A cute female Growlithe gave me a goofy smile as her tail wagged enthusiastically. I reached out and stroked her smooth fur. "Casey. That's what her name will be," I told Stooge. I was really looking forward to getting to know her better on this journey.

Route 260, a battle!

[color=#8fbc8f]The battle with that Hooty had taken much out of poor Ael, he was still a pup after all, and after I had scooped him into my arms for a huggle, I called him back into his Pokeball to replenish his energy.

“He’s a good battler, isn’t he Har?” I scratched the black hound behind the ears as he grumbled softly into my wrist. “Don’t worry, the next one is yours, I promise.” His face lightened at the thought, and he wagged his tail before plopping his butt onto the ground with a sigh. “Are you hungry? Well, we need to take Aelethil to the Pokecentre anyway, so let’s take a trip back into Diruntha for a bit, eh?” Ears pricking, Har heaved himself upright and gambolled off down the route, back into the city.

“Wait for me!” I called after him, breaking into a run. We hadn’t gone so far out of Diruntha anyway, only about ten minutes or so down the path, sheltering during the rainfall. Fire types don’t like rain, and I was always careful to keep my mutts out of it. Nothing smelled worse than wet dog!

Slowing to a walk, I pondered what we would do afterwards. Going to the mart seemed sensible. We would need Potions for sure, and I wanted to pick up some Pokeballs too. Remembering the machine I had received as it vibrated in my pocket, I pulled it out to find a flashing light informing me of the fact that I had received a message.

Pressing the right combination of buttons took me to the badly spelled message from Cearo, to which I smiled. They were already in the Pokemon centre! Just where I was heading too.

“Come on, Har! Race you to the Centre!” I set off at a dead run down the final stretch of the route, charging into the city mere inches ahead of Har, who was panting heavily. Glancing at him, I vowed to get in some training for the Houndour, his stamina was lacking a bit. Rounding the corner, I almost ran straight into Rain and Cearo, who were stood outside the Pokemon centre, chatting animatedly.

Screeching to a halt next to Ruhar, I waved and grinned, out of breath from my run.

“Hey guys! I got your message Cearo. Nicely spelled, as always…” I grinned at her and she poked me in the arm. “Hey, you understood it, didn’t you? So don’t complain.”

“Have you already healed your Pokemon?”

“We’re just waiting for the nurse to finish up.” Rain said.

“Ok, well I’ll just go drop off Aelethil and then I need to stop by the Mart, is that ok with you two?” They nodded their assent and I sauntered into the Pokemon centre to get Ael some treatment. I made a mental note to always carry some potions with me in the future; it was a good job that I hadn’t run into any other wild Pokemon on my way back.

Smiling at the surly-looking nurse behind the counter, I fished out Ael’s Pokeball and plopped it onto the table.

“Could you heal him for me?” Putting on my puppy eyes, I looked imploring as she scowled at me, taking the ball from the table and placing it into a machine.

“Come back soon.” I nodded and charged back out to Cearo and Rain. “To the Mart!” I pointed wildly in the direction of the shop, and we set off to buy buy buy!

[COLOR=silver]Happy about her first-round victory, the little Abra did a dancy little Teleport (-3 energy to Da) to appear behind the very angry and very confused Rhyhorn, poor thing, as it hurled a pile of rocks in a Rock Slide attack towards where Dazen used to be. (-4 energy to Rhyhorn) Smirking, the little Da charged up her fist once more, with a lovely target presented to her with the Rhyhorn’s behind, she took the opportunity and swung her fist, connecting with the ‘Horn’s arse. (-5 energy to Da | -12 health to Rhyhorn) Grunting in pain, the rocky beast turned and thrashed at Da, taking out his fury on the little Abra (-6 health to Da | -4 energy to Rhyhorn) as she sat there, taking the attack on her frail body. Passing her hands in front of her once more, she conjured up a Barrier (-6 energy to Da) just in time to stop the ‘Horn’s devastating Horn Attack (-4 energy to Rhyhorn). The rocky beast’s horn shattered Da’s barrier, however, and she was left defenceless once again for the third round.

At the end of Round Two, the statistics are as follows...

After traveling down Route 260 looking for a good Pokemon to catch or train against, Darkfire opened her Pokedex and began to commit Taillow's attacks to memory like she had done with her Gastly's attacks. While gazing down at the red device, she suddenly tripped over something. She shouted and stumbled, barely catching herself. Darkfire turned and looked the Digglet up and down slowly. Finally, she decided it would be a good training battle for Soar, her male Taillow. She grabbed Taillow's Pokeball out of her bag and thrust it out. In a small burst of energy, her Pokemon appeared, and hovered, waiting for her commands.

"Soar, start off with a Double Team to keep it from attacking you. Next, confuse it with a Supersonic attack! Finish with a good strong Wing Attack!" Soar cried out in understanding and went into battle.

I briskly walked down the route that connected North and South Hyners with Stooge. Casey had decided to take a nap in her pokeball a while ago. I stopped near a pond and checked my backpack to make sure that I had everything. In my haste I sometimes forgot things. Important things. "It seems like I remembered everything. How are you holding up there, Stooge?"

Stooge was looking out toward the pond. Floating in the shallow water was a little Horsea. Those big red eyes were so cute that I couldn't resist standing up and walking as close to it as possible. I pulled out a pokeball and nodded to my faithful Doduo. "Okay, Stooge. You have the legs for this sort of thing. I can count on you for this." Stooge honked boldly. "Run out there and use Supersonic! Then use Tri Attack while it's confused! Finally use Peck to get out one more good hit!"

Kalah narrowed her eyes slightly, a little worried about Da since she seemed shaken. Fenrir, her Growlithe, gave a few barks of encouragement as he wagged his tail to try to cheer Da on. Da blinked slightly, and Kalah knew that they would have to attack the Rhyhorn all out soon. "Alright Da... I want you to double Ice Punch this Rhyhorn once you see a good opening. Let's see how much his ground counterparts like ice! However... we need to be evasive, so if you feel threatened by Rhyhorn and it looks like he might hurt you, use your most natural move, Teleport!

“Whaa…” Rain grimaced, watching Arìlys run off towards the mart, quickly, Rain fallowed, having Cearo at his heels, they looked sort of like ants marching one by one, in the rain… Hmm…

“Arìlys!” Rain called from behind, as they entered the mart. “What exactly do you want to buy?” He questioned, holding the door open for Cearo who came in behind. “I’ve already done my shopping.”

Cearo snickered, Rain frowned.

“Yes yes, Rain the guy who hates shopping, said the word, and did it okay?” He snarled.

“He he.”

“Come now Rain! Is it that bad?” Arìlys questioned, inspecting the goods.

Rain frowned. ‘You’d be surprised...’ He thought, remembering the time he went shopping with Cearo… Oh what a mistake that was. Cearo had impulsively bought everything she could, and Rain had ended up lugging 98% of it back to her house.

That day had sucked.

Cearo lifted an eyebrow. She pulled rain aside and staged whispered, "Did someone spike Arilys' food today?"

"Heeey!" she heard his reply, as he happily browsed through the available stuff.'

"Well it's true.. you're usually....quieter," she said.

"Maybe he's excited?" Rain shrugged.

Cearo frowned, Rain still seemed a little down, maybe he was still worried about his mother.

"So guys, where are we heading next?" she asked, calling out to them. "And where is Kalah? Is she still battling Pokemon or something? Haven't heard anything from her..."

"Maybe she couldn't understand your message," Arilys said, in a perfectly serious voice, but she could almost hear his mocking undertones.

She stuck her tongue out at him, and the three of them laughed. Cearo felt happier than she had in ages... staying at home was quite bad, especially with her parents around, and the name that hung in the air but remained unspoken...Kimi...

Life was much better like this, less worries about her parents' obvious disappointment in their elder daughter, and she was with her childhood buddies, whom she had known her whole life....

Rain snapped his fingers in front of her eyes. "Cearo? Stop daydreaming!" Arilys was still happily looking at all the stuff from the store.

"Er, sorry," Cearo muttered, fumbling through her backpack. "I'm just gonna text Kalah, to tell her where we are."

"Why don't you just call her? Maybe she'll get the message then," Rain said, a small smile on his face.

"Yeesh," she said, turning her back on him. Again, she typed out another message: "V r at d PkMrt. Cum mit us dere."

"Did you ever learn how to spell?" Arilys asked, coming over to read over her shoulder. "If possible, this is even worse than your previous one."

Diglett blinked her eyes sleepily and looked up at the huge human who was eying her. This was baaaaaad. She had just woken up and was about to get her breakfast, and now she was facing a battle and possible capture? She could have sat down and cried, but now wouldn’t be a good time.

While she was still pondering all this, Soar had already snapped into action, and shimmering, started circling round and round the Diglett(4% - Soar). Her eyes went a little wild, trying to figure out which was the image, and which was real. With a quick movement, she flicked some sand and debris randomly at what she thought was Soar(4% - Diglett). The clods of dirt went right through the image, but the illusion was shattered.

Unperturbed, Soar released a few psychic waves right at her(3% - Soar). She found her head spinning a little, and her vision went a little whacky.

She grabbed a few rocks nearby, and threw them at the airborne Soar, and by chance, a few hit(10% - Soar, 4% - Diglett). Soar flinched in pain, but he quickly recovered, and swooped down, raising a wing, ready to hit the Diglett, but, to his amazement, his wing slammed into empty air as the Diglett had disappeared(3% - Soar). Losing his balance, he fell to the ground and something unseen whacked him hard(9% - Soar, 4% - Diglett). The Diglett reappeared in her hole with a triumphant glint in her eye.

[COLOR=silver]The two-headed bird named Stooge ran out to the edge of the bridge, nicely in range for his Supersonic (-2 energy to Stooge) waves to hit Horsea. He didn’t count, however, on the Horsea’s response, a stream of bubbles (-3 health to Stooge | -2 energy to Horsea) which floated delicately through the sonic waves to hit the bird on one of its beaks.

Shaking his head Stooge opened both of his mouths and let off a devastating Tri Attack (-4 energy to Stooge | -8 health to Horsea) which connected with the poor seahorse, leaving him crackling with electrical energy and shivering with cold at the same time. Confused, Horsea tried its hardest to create a screen of shielding smoke (-3 energy to Horsea), but only managed a slight mist.

Squawking in triumph, Stooge ran closer to Horsea and pecked down rapidly with his sharp beaks (-2 energy to Stooge | -4 health to Horsea), only to be squirted with a jet of water from the ‘Sea’s open mouth (-2 energy to Horsea | -4 damage to Stooge).

Shaking off the water, Stooge squawked once more in defiance, his many eyes flashing with the heat of battle.

Catching him on the arse once more, Da grinned to herself as she charged her fists. This time, however, she didn’t bank on the anger of the large rocky creature as he pulled a terrifying face (-3 energy to Rhyhorn), scaring Da into using her Teleport attack instead of her Ice Punch (-3 energy to Da).

Appearing at the back of the ‘Horn once more, she charged her fist up properly this time, hitting the rock (-5 energy to Da | -12 health to Rhyhorn) as he turned and attacked her furiously (-4 energy to Rhyhorn | -4 health to Da), jabbing down with his horn twice before backing up, preparing for the next round.

Soar takes to the skies once again, trilling proudly. Once he is high up, he rears back, and zooms straight down, gathering momentum as he flies, and crashes straight into the Diglett, who is looking a bit confused and disorientated right now(11% - Diglett, 5% - Soar). The impact seems to clear things up a little, and Diglett slashes quickly with her unseen claws, catching right on Soar’s lower body(10% - Soar, 4% - Diglett).

Despite his injuries, Soar, quickly flies back up, out of any further harm from Diglett. The mole-like Pokemon is feeling rather disgruntled now, and her confusion induced headache isn’t making things any better.

Soar is given all the time to ready himself, and he drops like a rock now, with even more gathered speed, and it is clear that the impact this time will be cataclysmic. His wing spread at the last possible minute, he deals two good hard blows onto the Diglett before darting away again(17% - Diglett, 9% - Soar).

Diglett, left down on the ground, growls her frustration(3% - Diglett), and though he is quite far away, some of the sound does reach soar, and though not afraid, he is starting to feel a little apprehensive.

We’re almost there…” Kalah grinned, seeing the Rhyhorn breathing rather heavily although he was still rearing to go. “Okay Da, still got a few icy punches in you?” Da seemed to nod cheerfully, as Kalah grinned and pointed at the Rhyhorn once more.
“Okay, use Icy Punch again when you see a good opportunity… but again, be careful of Rhyhorn’s powerful attacks. If he tried to come at you, make a strong barrier to defend yourself. Use Icy Punch again whenever you see an opening… hopefully soon we’ll be able to take a pokeball to this guy.”

"Dru! Get up, it's almost noon!" My father was somewhere downstairs, and I was, of course, in bed. It was only noon-ish, after all, where else would I be? I had finally gotten out of high school, and I felt no need to wake up before I felt like it.

"Ghast...." A voice somewhere above me made me open my eyes. "Dude, go away, I don't want to get up..." I muttered. He persisted, however, and proceeded to float in circles around my face.

"OK, fine, I'm up, happy?" I grumbled, struggling to extricate myself from the blankets. My feet didn't want to cooperate, and, trying to get them disentangled, I managed to fall off of the bed and flat on my back. "See what happens?" I shot at Ghastly, who appeared amused by the whole thing. Groaning, I rolled over and picked myself up off of the floor. I glanced in the mirror and saw that my hair was a mess; I pulled it back anyway and folded it over into a bunch at the back of my head.

"Dru!" my dad shouted again. "I'm up, all ready, hang on..." I called back, irritated. No rest for the weary around here, apparently. I pulled my shorts on, buckled the belt, grabbed a tank top and yanked it over my head, grabbed my bag and shoes and headed downstairs.

"You're going to be late," my dad pointed out when I reached the kitchen. "How can I be late if there's no time schedule, dad?" I asked. He didn't have an answer, only shrugged. I grabbed some food from the cabinet, which I set on the counter as I pulled my boots on.

"Do you have everything?" he asked. "Dad, yes, I do, I'm fine. I can do this, really." I laced my boots up and was ready to go. I hugged my father before retrieving my breakfast from the counter.

"Take care of yourself, and know that I'm here if you need help."

I smiled. "I know, don't worry. I'm not going to have my mind wiped the moment I walk out the door, I promise." I lifted a new Pokeball from my bag. "With my new ally, I'll be fine."

With that, I turned and walked from the kitchen, Ghastly following me. "You ready to go?" I asked, and he bobbed in the air eagerly. I pulled out an empty Pokeball and called Ghastly into it. "Let's go, buddy."

I returned to the Pokemon Center to collect my Pokemon and I released the Absol once outside. I decided to see how tame it would be. It looked at me and growled. I put my hand out to pet it and it came towards me, then nonchalantly bowed its head. I decided to stroke its hair and it sat down and licked its paws.
"So you're a female Absol? Guess I have to give you a name...how about...Abbie? No, that's a terrible pun. What about..."
I looked into her eyes and saw they were a deep violet.
"...Violet!"
She didn't object, so I decided to keep that nickname. I returned her and looked around. I wanted to head to North Hyners so I walked in that direction. Hopefully the gym will be open by the time I get there.

Without fear, I trod on the road and kept a Pokeball at the ready, should I meet a wild Pokemon.

The hoothoot stared down at his trainer, wondering how best to wake her up. Finally the flier decided on the usual method. He fluttered over and landed on the pillow beside her head. Then, he proceeded to hoot softly in her ear while poking her face with his wing. At first, nothing happened but soon, the trainer sneezed and groaned. Giving a satisfied hoot, the owl pokemon flew back to his perch on the dresser.

Pushing the silver lock of hair out of her face, the teenager stuck her tongue out at her friend and pet. “I’ll get you back one day, Shannon.” she joked before climbing out of bed and heading into the bathroom where she proceeded to get ready. Shannon, gave an amused sound before preening his feathers as he waited for his trainer to finish her daily routine.

When he had finished preening his feathers, Shannon curiously fluttered over to the skyblue backpack that was lying on the nightstand. At long last, the girl emerged from the bathroom. She was dressed in a pair of blue jeans, a purple t-shirt, and brown hiking boots. Just as she finished pulling her long silver hair up into a high ponytail, the doorbell rang.

The teenager quickly rushed downstairs and threw open the door excitedly. Sure enough, there was a small package addressed to Amy Wolfe lying there. Quickly grabbing it, she ran to the table while whistling for her other pokemon. When Shannon arrived, he helped her open the package by cutting the ropes wrapped around it with his beak. Once the box was free of the outer layer of wrapping, Amy carefully lifted the lid off of the box. Inside it was $200 dollars, a couple electronic items that she’d figure out later, and three pokeballs. Picking each of them up, Amy discovered that two were empty, but the third was slightly heavy signifying that it contained a pokemon inside.

“Hoot?” Shannon asked, curious at what was in that pokeball.

“Hold your horses Shannon, I’m just as curious as you are about what I got.” Laughing at the inpatient expression on the owl’s face, she picked up the pokeball and tapped the button on it. A few seconds later, a beam of red energy shot out from the pokeball and took the shape of a small green and yellow canine. The electrike barked happily before noticing and chasing its tail, causing a giggle to escape from his new trainer. “Hoothoot.” Shannon sighed rolling his eyes.

Amy ignored the slightly irritated expression on her hoothoot’s face and whistled to get the electrike’s attention. Upon hearing the whistle he bounded over to Amy, his tail wagging ninety to nothing. Amy reached down to pet her new puppy who gently licked her hand. “I think I’ll call you Static.” The electrike yipped happily before jumping up into his trainer’s arms. Scratching the puppy behind the ears for a few minutes, Amy finally returned him to his pokeball before hurrying upstairs and transferring the items from the box to her backpack. Then she clipped Static’s pokeball, as well as Shannon’s and the two empty pokeballs to a leather belt that had designs of wolves on it.

Grabbing the backpack, she slung it over her shoulder as Shannon perched on her head. The hoothoot absolutely refused to go into his pokeball unless it was an emergency or he was being handed over to Nurse Joy to be healed. As Amy stepped outside, she sighed. Her family wasn’t good at goodbyes which was why her parents weren’t at home this morning. Last night had been tough but they had said their goodbyes then.

Before doing anything else, Amy decided to stop by the local store where she purchased two additional pokeballs besides the ones that she had received as well as two potions. After that, she headed to the bank where she deposited the remainder of her money. Upon emerging from the bank, Amy was pondering which route to take when Static emerged from his pokeball and made the decision for her. Barking happily, he took off running towards Route 260. “Hey!” Amy shouted to her electrike as Shannon took off flying after Static. Amy quickly took off running after her pokemon.

I shouted, retreating one Pokemon in exchange for the other. "Now you're going to face a God!" I grinned at Kalah, turning my attention to the Mewtwo, I wiped the brim of my nose and prepared for the attack.

"Start off with using Swift to knock out those clones, Mewtwo!" I commanded, I never knew facing Kalah would lead to this intense of a battle. "Finally hit it with a Rock tomb!" I added, hopeing to finish off the Pokemon in one mighty blast.

"The tide of this battle is about to turn Kalah!"

Jace was walking around Route 255 when suddenly he saw a Numel walking rather aloof-like along the path. Eager to battle another pokemon, he sent out Violet, his Absol who materialized easily near the Numel. The Numel was rather aloof and didn’t seem to pay any attention to Absol… but Absol went ahead with orders and suddenly it used Double Team, having itself clone into about five Absols that surrounded the Numel. [ - 8 Energy ] Numel, looking quite confused at the sudden appearance at an Absol, simply used a low growl…. Not quite understanding what was happening. [ - 5 Energy ] Absol closed her eyes, instantly having her body erupt into a silvery glow-like aura as she concentrating… using Sword Dance to raise her attack. [ - 9 Energy ]. The Numel, quite shocked at the glowing silvery auras of the clones… in fright, suddenly stomped upon the ground and unleashed a very surprisingly good Earthquake. [ - 10 Energy | - 10 Life ]. The Earthquake took care of three of the clones, leaving one clone and the regular Absol left. Absol narrowed its gaze and then charged straight at numel, unleashing a Slash attack. [ - 10 Energy ]. The Slash attack hit Numel directly on, causing him to topple backwards slightly and give a cry of alarm.[ - 16 Life ]. Numel, feeling slightly bewildered simply got to his feet and charged straight at Absol, using a Take Down attack. [ - 8 Energy ]. He directly hit into the clone of Absol, causing no harm to Absol himself, but it hurt Numel as he smashed into the empty ground. [ - 5 Life ].

The Numel slowly rose to his feet, only to see more clones of the Absol he was fighting. [- 8 Energy] Feeling rather easily stressed and frightened, Numel closed his eyes and felt the fire within him suddenly rise rapidly in temperature. He opened his mouth and then frantically unleashed a Flame Thrower [- 10 Energy ]. His eyes were closed and he managed to take out two of the four clones, and also the intensity of the fire brushed against the real Absol. [ - 4 Life ]. Absol immediately charged into Numel, who gave out a sharp cry as he slashed deeply into Numel’s tough skin. [- 10 Energy|- 16 Life ] Numel opened his eyes as his body shaked slightly, but seeing the Absol caused him to tightly tuck his head against his body as he did Defense Curl. [ - 7 Energy ] Absol once again charged at Numel, unleashing a slash attack but it was a bit more difficult… making a less devastating blow. [- 10 Energy | – 11 Life] . Opening his eyes and untucking himself, Numel saw the Absol shake his paw slightly at the sting of the multiple Slash attacks. Feeling a boost of confidence, Numel inhaled a deep breath once again and this time blasted a large blast of fire directly at the correct Absol. [- 10 Energy | – 15 Life ] Absol was a bit shaken up by this, but he shook his head and glared directly at the Numel… still have his two clones.
