Desperate Shiny Help
Well,
I'm on a quest to find a shiny vulpix, because ninetales looks so cool shiny.
I first started by seraching in the wild for hours. The only place vulpix is (Mt. Pyre) has a 20% chance of finding one... not too good... so I decided to start breeding. I have hatched 150 eggs... no luck. I went back to battling. No Luck. Now I am starting to breed two new parents....
Anyway, what do you think my best chances for getting a shiny are? Should I fo searching in the wild (where 1 out of every 5 pokemon is vulpix) or should I keep hatching eggs?
If I keep hatching eggs, how often should I switch parents?
Thanks.
And BTW, I'm not a type of person who quits, so don't suggest it. I've already vowed not to move forward in the game until I catch one.

That's kind of funny because I have been doing the same thing. I haven't seen a shiny vulpix either and I really doubt that I ever will. I also really want to catch shiny Roselia...but I probably won't ever get one of those without cheating either. It's wierd really...that I would try so hard and then there be fifty little kids at the league that would have shiny pokemon that one of there friends gave them because they have a gameshark...it really makes me discouraged and think that that is probably the way to go since almost anyone you battle that has shinies has cheated...no I'm saying that all shinies are cheats, just most of them.

Just out of curiosity, how would they be able to tell... i mean lets say a person get a shiny ______ ...the tournament people would have no way of telling the real ones for the sharked ones...unless theres some difference between them.

Keep the Vulpix as a mother and switch the father every ten eggs
Shiney pokemon egg usually appear within the first ten you breed also keep going to Mt Pyre While the eggs keep hatching I've Hatched many shiney pokemon(on crystal) including shuckle
also try to find a shiney male that can breed with vulpix it will increase your odds

its quite easy to tell... im sure using gameshark adds some notion or hidden figure into the game they can check for... theres always something.
Should I continually use a vulpix father, or should I switch that too? Should I use the vulpix female of mine with the best stats?
Thanks.

who cares if nintendo can or cannot tell if your game has been sharked...
play the game the way that makes you happy dude. dont waste your time searching for shinies. just shark it. however, if your ARE worried about GameShark leaving trace code in your game, just shark pokemon on another cartrage, and trade over.

I think Meowth already has the odds in his site. If you want shinies, breeding is the way to go. Your chances increase when breeding than with wild pokes. Also, you don't have to worry about actually finding the poke you want.

I've only ever caught two shinies before and that was a Pikachu which is now a Raichu and the other was a Shiny Grodude which is now a Gole, well I've caught three if you include the shiny Gradose.
Others I've had my friend shark them on for me.
My friend Mitchell has caught a Shiny Jigglypuff, this was before he got his gameshark, though he's never used it for anything more then Master Balls for himself.
and my friend Reece recently caught a Shiny Zubat, that he wasn't fully aware of until he checked his PC the next morning and saw it clearly for the first time, he was so excited he wouldn't shut up about it.

uhh. please don'tturn this into a post your shinies here topic...there are already tons of them out there. I'm not interested in hearing that you have so and so, I'm interested in help, so if you can't give it, don't post here thanks.
Anyway, Ive breed some more, and I got an Vulpix with 20 HP, and then 11 Attack, 10 Defense, 11 Special Attack, 11 Special Defense, and 11 Speed.
I think average base stats for level 5 vulpic are like 19 HP, 9 Attack, 9 Defense, 11 Special Attack, 12 Spec. Def and 12 Speed, but I'm not possitive.
So should I use the one witha bunch of 11's to breed?
