That's like that retarded "Friendster" I refuse to join.

I think if my friends 'need' me to be on a website just like them, they would contact me personally, instead of a generic form email. Plus I'd expect reasoning.

I started my LJ simply because I had an opportunity to, and I found it helpful to write shit down.

The whole MySpace thing is just another fad that's going to come then go when something better comes along.

If MySpace is good for some folks, more power to them...and I hope they enjoy the site.

If I want to listen to music--I'll just pop a CD into my player or listen to my MP3 player and keep my GreatestJournal account, thanks

I dunno, I'm worried that it might embed itself so far into the UK music industry that no-one will be able to remove it.

I wouldn't mind if Myspace Music actually had some variety. The only thing I hear is emo and really bad Indie, and that's coming from an Indie fan.

    Myspace bothers me.

I started my Myspace about a year ago, and haven't done anything with it aside from putting some basic information in my profile. Until recently, the 'blog remained unnoticed. I got an e-mail from Myspace saying that someone left me a message.

The message came from "paige", and she began showering me with various undeserved compliments and what-not. Normally, I like to be showered with various undeserved compliments, but when someone claims to "love you" based on a year's worth of inactivity and a sidebar of trivial knowledge, I begin to question their motives.

The "love letter" that she supplied me with was more of the same, but it also featured a link; "Hey, she has a website. That's cool." I click on the link, gaze at the site for a few seconds before registering just what the hell I was actually looking at. I immediately closed the browser, then told "paige" off. I don't like to date people of her line of work... seriously...

I got a few more messages from her saying how much she wanted a relationship from me and some crap. I've, since then, died a little inside.

Still trying to decide a name to put on it. ^.^ But yeah, it's definately something to do. And I figure if anyone gets themselves raped over something like Myspace, well I blame bad parenting. Ta!

God, I got a message like that the other week. I barely log onto MySpace, and a couple of days after the last time I logged on some mong asked me why I'm single...needless to say I just ignored the message.

Hell, it's almost socially retarded my little brother to meeting new people. He's popular in school and with a lot of people he already knows, but when it comes to meeting new people in person, he's pretty much useless nowadays.

I have a myspace, and I've found all my old friends on there. thats the only reason I kept going with it. Originally I was like katie and was anti-myspace, but since everyone is on there...its more simpler that way.

OH.........and my pastor found my myspace also WHAT JOY THAT WAS. I had huge list of music people, a song playing...skanky comments.....whatever. he found it like a month ago, and talked to me a little about it...and how filthy it was, and all the filth I do on there(?) and my "worldly desires" (?_?) and all my "worldly" friends...

welll.....sucks to be me, I hope he doesnt pull me in his office, though I have a sneaking suspicion he will sooner or later....even though I am almost 20 freakin years old....

    screw myspace =[

actually no. screw the whore that told on all the church people in the first place

Some say he wont talk to me cause I'm 18+...but he talked to a guy thats older than 18...so yeah.

lol...well, he talked to my brother, and told him that he needs to "pray and weep with me" over this...because my music was bad. rofl.

"THE KILLERS!? LOST PROPHETS!? BLAH BLAH!?"

    oh dear.

well, I highly doubt he is searching for young girls and boys....though I know he searched for alot of kids at church to see what sort of "wickedness" they are into.

many people deleted theirs, but I am not going to...and I have been avoiding him so he wont talk to me about it. lol.

Everybody has the right to their own opinion and mine is that MySpace is for the teenagers that can't get friends at school and have to lie to make em on the internet, and for middleaged people who lie about their age to fit in. The guy who said that he was a 15-year-old pushed it too far. Mysapce is cool for some people and it can be pretty cool, but my suggestion is to avoid it.

not necessarily, there may be about 5 people on my myspace friend's list that i do no know in real life (i have 85 friends last time i checked), and those people are generally people i have talked to online extensively. it's not just for people who can't make friends at school, because i really use it mainly for keeping in contact.

The only people on my Myspace contact list are people that I know personally, save for two people (Eevey and Weasel Overlord via TPM). As with the people above, I don't use it to "make friends because I can't in real life", because that's not the case with me.

    lol ^_^;
I will admit, things about myspace piss me off. Like the amount of 15 year olds who think its incredibly COOL to wear a superman shirt, look away from the camera whilst taking a photo of themselves (which defeats the purpose anyway), and claim to be original.

I think I'm original on myspace because I smile in my photos.

Anyway, most people on my myspace list are people that I know personally, unless they request me or something.
In 20 years, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook will merge together into one super big time-wasting site called YouTwitFace.

Ugh. If the government had a say which sites would be allowed to live, MySpace is first on the hitlist(okay, so all the *other* sites are generalized in a place above it, but still...).

I simply think of it as another way to foolishly get attention. It never works unless you're some rock star or something. I know alot of people in my school have one, an incident last year banned it from the school...and what do they do?
Why, download Firefox of course. The school follows every move on IE only. None of them post *questionable* pictures as far as I know, but I know they're the types that bash teachers/Bush/etc, etc...

You wouldn't believe how many kids do that in my area.

What I can never understand is why people use MySpace instead of an instant messenger or feel the need to leave comments when said person is on an IM service. Like a couple of days ago, a friend of mine decided to leave a couple of phatic questions when she could just have easily typed them to me on MSN and been guaranteed an immeadiate response.

I hate attention seekers on MySpace. Same with all the false people out there, finding a genuine person is like finding a needle in a haystack. I can't think of a better cliché.

Meh. My sister wanted to put an account on myspace, but she didn't want to have nobody in her friends list so I said I'd make one too. Most of my friends are people online, I don't have a large circle of friends irl, because most of the people I went to school with were brainless oafs and I'm glad to be rid of them now.

I've had one, but only because everyone else at my school had one. And I get to catch up with friends across the country I normally wouldn't see or hear from. Of course, I also have a Xanga for that (both of which have my username here as their address), so it's really no big deal.

What I don't like are the people who are on MySpace 24/7, commenting and being friends with random people. I have maybe one friend on there that I don't know personally or know someone that knows them. I'm not really sure why I even still have that friend if not just to be nice about it. But yeah, MySpace is no big deal. Like Xanga, its heyday soon will pass.

    Default Re: myspace

I agree, facebook is so much better than myspace. No annoying popups, no annoying friend requests, everyone's real and the privacy is real. AND NO STUPID BACKGROUNDS. and sorry but nobody wants to see ten million of your animated icons or hear your songs.

as you can tell, i hate myspace.
