Default ~Battle in a volcano, Weas vs. Charles (ref: TML)

[color=silver]Okay! Here is my chance to use one of my poor, as-of-yet-unused Pokemon...

    Here are the battle thingies...

    1 v.1
I send first, you attack first
    Fire types only!
Arena: Well, it's a volcano... A dormant one, of course... The battle takes place in the large bowl in the centre, and the floor is made up of hardened but still slightly warm lava. The sides are curved, and do not offer an escape.
Banned moves: Rest, Substitute, Recover, all that healing blah... And let's make it more interesting and say no Double Team or Toxic either ^^

I send out my Male Torchic, Seraphim!

    Go Seraphim!

Ok, Weasel Overlord you just got lucky last time but this time we are on even grounds, looks down at my male houndour, so Rookie I think you can do beter ar beting up a torchic then King who lost to Chris W.'s Torchic Roy If I remeber right.

Ok enugh looking to the past, Rookie start off by creating a thick Smog, then fire off a couple of Sludge bombs at Seraphim!

[color=silver]Okay Seraph, let's do this! Start the round with a Mirror Move, copy that Smog right back at Houndour, give him a taste of his own medicine! ^^ Follow it up with an Aerial Ace to avoid that Sludge, and then another Aerial Ace.

However, if you get poisoned at any time, I want you to do ~Swords Dance then Facade, ok?

    Round 1

    Seraphim:100%
    Mirror Move~Aerial Acex2

    Rookie:100%
    Smog~Sludge Bomb x2

[color=royalblue]The battle starts with Rookie opening his mouth and releasing a thick cloud of smog, a combination of smoke and fog. Seraphim sees the attack and produces a mirror out of nowhere, which flashes white and then expels the same attack. Soon, the immediate area is covered in black smoke and both Pokemon are coughing from ihaling the foul substance.

The rest of the round is spent with the Pokemon trying to find one another. Blobs of sludge and a glowing wing flies all over the place but neither Pokemon can seem to find their respective target. Luckily, the cloud clears away at the end of the round, leaving both Pokemon and trainers feeling rather sheepish:

    Seraphim:95% Sore throat
    Rookie:95% Sore throat

    Seraphim:95% Sore throat

    Rookie:95% Sore throat

With the smog now gone, Rookie breathes in deeply with his nose and locks in on Seraphim's scent. This assures him of knowing the Torchic's location at all times from now on. Seraphim responds with a defiant stamping of the foot, which looks like nothing has happened at first but the dormant volcano begins to rumble. Rocks buried beneath the ground and from the sides come flying out, striking Rookie. The boulders are not as big due to Seraphim's small stature and power but the Houndour gets knocked around well enough.

Angry from being hit and bruised, Rookie grows and releases a ethereal ball of energy from his mouth. It strikes Seraphim on target, who responds by concentrating and having sharp rocks from below spring up and trap Rookie on all sides, making him feel quite cramped and pissed.

Rookie repeats the same attack, but only uses it to get himself out of the trap. As fragments of rock fly about the arena, Seraphim closes his eyes and tries to keep himself calm and focused for the upcoming rounds:

[color=silver]Okay Seraph, since those nice rocky moves did so well, I want you to use another Rock Tomb, followed by a Fire Spin to encircle those rocks. Make him feel that heat! Finally, use a Flamethrower to finish up with. However, if at any time he breaks out of those rocks, I want you to use a Quick Attack followed by another Rock Tomb if possible.

Seraphim concentrates again to produce sharp rocks to put Rookie in a tight squeeze but as the rocks spring up, a blue glow surrounds the dog and a burst of pure energy destroys them before they can do anything.

Chirping in disappointment, Seraphim decides to move this time and runs forward to headbutt Rookie in the face. The Houndour growls as he's pushed backwards but a swipe of his paw sends the Torchic stumbling as well, although if his health is any indication, the attack doesn't do as much damage as he would've liked it to do.

The last round of attacks goes the same way of the first round - rocks coming up from the ground with them crumbling apart in the end. The round draws to a close once again with Seraphim feeling bitter about the missed attacks and Rookie starting to pant from using those powerful moves:

    Seraphim:83% Bitter
    Rookie:75% Panting

[color=silver]Right Seraph, let''s begin with a Mimic, to make your own Shadow Ball. Hurl it at Rookie, and try to hit his own ball as you do. Hopefully, they'll explode on impact.
Follow that up with a nice Counter or two, to teach that Houndour the meaning of pain! mwaha...

Both Pokemon go at it again this round with twin ethereal balls. They each collide in the middle of the field and explode after a second after impact, the blast sending both skidding back a foot or two.

Rookie recovers by sending off another Shadowball at Seraphim, who squeezes his eyes shut and produces a blue aura that sends the ball bouncing back as it hits him. It comes back and strikes Rookie, who grimaces slightly but obediently tries the attack again. The same thing happens again, although Seraphim strains a little harder to hold the aura in place. In the end, it's an uneventful round but now Seraphim is showing signs of fatigue along with Rookie:

Frustrated with Seraphim, Rookie starts lashing out insults, barking incessantly to which Seraphim cheeps back in anger. No one knows what is being said but we can only assume it has something to do with a fat female Blaziken. In either case, the little Torchic runs at Rookie and scratches him fiercely, producing cuts that start to bleed.

Still miffed, Seraphim continues to hack away at Rookie until the Houndour is able to back away and grow and release an ethereal ball. It hits Seraphim squarely on target and knocks him onto his back.

Seraphim manages to get back up before being hit again by another Shadowball. He manages to stay on his feet though and runs over to Rookie to give him another good lashing. By the times he stops, Seraphim is starting to calm down but breathe in heavily while Rookie is bleeding and a little more tired than before:

Seraphim takes in another deep breath before releasing a whitish mist towards Rookie. The Houndour takes a step back remembering his coughing episode from the first round but this is a different type of type. It reaches Rookie and he unfortunately inhales the mist. Soon, he starts to feel dizzy and the world begins to swim. Fortunately, he's still able to attack and even though he can't see, he can smell out Seraphim. He pinpoints the little fowl and opens his mouth to release a pure white beam. It strikes Seraphim right on target and causes him to moan in pain. After the pain subsides, Seraphim's body begins to stiffen. As he tries to recognize what is happening to him, the mist fades away.

The world spinning around him, Rookie teeters unsteadly and closes his eyes to help himself feel better. Seraphim feels his body loosen up enough to stamp his foot on the ground and create rocks from below and above to fly towards Rookie. Many of them strike the helpless Houndour, who goes flying all over the place. He opens his eyes again after the barrage to see if anything is better but it's not so he whimpers and closes them again. Seraphim employs the same attack again and the boulders continue to strike Rookie. Now the Houndour is bleeding more than before but he opens his eyes again to find the world right back where it should be. Meanwhile, Seraphim drops to the ground and pants heavily from attacking so much:

With the battle almost over, Seraphim is determined to end it now. He stamps his foot down again to send rocks flying all over the place. A blue aura surrounds Rookie and he manages to deflect some rocks, which go ricocheting all over the place but he's not strong enough to hold on forever and it flickers off before a few rocks strike him down.

As Seraphim tries to repeat the attack, his body seizes up and he falls over to one side. Rookie just sighs in relief and sits down to lick his wouns clean.

Luckily, the little Torchic gets back up again after a few minutes and performs the attack for hopefully what is the last time. Again, the blue aura goes up but the energy to keep it stable and the blood loss is taking a toll on Rookie and it disappears rather easily. A few hits later, Rookie is down for good:

    Seraphim:57%
    Rookie:0%

A quick but interesting battle. It was a pleasure to ref and WO and I get 2 points while Charles gets 1
