This seasons run of Contests are over and The Grand Festival is ready to begin on July 1st! From now until then is the chance for all Ribbon owners to register for the competition. Now as some contest winners are not around it means we won't have 11 entrants. However many we do have means the general elimination structure will be subject to change, but it is going to follow a basic pyramid structure.


The prize for the Grand Festival is 10 points and the Trophy, to display in sigs, websites, banners etc.


If you have a ribbon, you are eligible for entering the contest. You do not have to enter the Pokemon that won said ribbon - anybody on your team is welcome to appeal or battle. You cannot enter unless you have a ribbon.


Our three judges for this competition are:

Please treat them with respect and do not challange their opinions on your appeals.


By July 1st all registered participants will be scrambled and the details on Round 1 of the Grand Festival will be posted.

The thread will be updated on Saturday with appeal procedures but basically it's going to be like any contests. The exception this time is, of course, that there's much more at stake!

I'm going to PM our Judges with all the procedures and from here on Karin will be telling you new information and rules etc etc etc etc!

Ok I'll start the Grand Festival! The topic for Appeal Stage One will be posted. In there you post your appeals, and it is also where the 'reffing' of the stage is posted. After that, details for Round Two will be here, and a new topic made.

Appeal Stage 1
This is a standard appeal. Use three attacks, either in combo or alone to impress the judges. Try and focus it around the Pokemons characteristic, implementing attacks, patterns and incredible visual displays to sum up the Pokemon of choice.

Appeal Stage II
This appeal is a double appeal which involves two Pokemon using three attacks each to achieve coordination and precision among each other. The choice of Pokemon is crucial for sucess, as is the nature of the appeal and the mood you wish to achieve. This will truly reveal the more gifted of the Coordinators

In other news, drew is replacing Vermillion due to personal issues.

Andrew is the Head Judge for this round. Saffire Persian and drew will be the other two. You only have a week to get your appeals in so make sure to do it asap!

Round Three
This is a Hyper Appeal. An appeal which uses 5 attacks instead of 3. Sound good? It's not as easy as you think. With the original 3-attack appeals you are usually awarded by the attacks 'connecting' and working in unison with each other. With a Hyper Appeal, there is less emphasis on the five attacks working together. For example, a Pokemon could also use a signature attack of theirs as well as an attack combo. Think carefully about what you want to achieve.


As with previous rounds we will lose two peope during Round III. The remaining four will be split into two pairs for the semi-finals: more details on that will emerge at a later date.


In related news, if anyone is interested in reffing the semi finals, we would greatly appreciate it. It comes partly on a first-come first served basis although reffing status, activity and such will be brought into consideration. They are standard battles so contest expirience is not required.

Round Four - Semi-Finals!
Appeals are all well and good, but they can only get you so far. For the semi-finals you are battling it out for a place in the final two and a chance at the grand prize! It is a simple 1-1 battle, no time limit, with no banned moves. The refs for each match have already been confirmed.


And the pairings are thus!

The Grand Festival has celebrated the beauty, style and grace of Pokemon, and the finals will mix elegance with strategy in an official 3-3. The arena is outdoors, with short grass and the sky is clear. Be prepared to fight for everything you have - 10 points and the coveted Grand Festival Ribbon Cup awaits the winner!

Wow. A year later and we've finished rather unexpectedly.

Aragornbird came 3rd and River came 4th.


Thanks to everyone who competed, judged and reffed! We're starting the new one in a few weeks and I hope it will move a bit faster but nevertheless the Grand Festival has been a sucess! Thanks!
