Default MLG vs. Elec Man EXE (ref: Ace64) [Beach arena]

I have three open slots now and I thought, "Hell why ain't I battling more?"

So this is my slot, you can battle me anywhere and anyway, just name your terms. Preferably 1 on 1, or 2 on 2.

Lets say...

2 vs 2 (1 at a time)
Banned Moves: No moves banned, BUT... Toxic will only cause normal poison, not poison of increasing strength
DQ is 5 days
I'll send out first, you attack first

Arena: A beach. Just a normal beach.

If thats ok with you, I'll post my pokemon choice.

Ok great! This time I'll go with Hermes my male Noctowl, he needs to get out. I don't want any type advantidges.

Hermes, start off with a Double Team, follow it up with a Supersonic and finish with a Psychic in beam form.

Alrighty Neptune, your first battle, lets make it good.

Crappy moveset for the win!

To start things off, let that big owl make it's clones and then use a widespread Icy Wind to knock 'em all out.

Then cancel out the Supersonic with your own Supersonic (Or at the very least cause him confusion as well).

And we'll end the round with a good old fasioned Ice Beam, always a favorite against the fliers.

Due to an extremely personal reason I could not write out a longer description for the round. Please forigve me, hopefully I will have a normal reffing for the next round.

SHOWDOWN
MLG v.s. Elec Man EXE
Arena: Beach
Referee: Mega Horny
Music: Mr. Hyde ~ MLG

<Team Belgium>
Hermes (male Noctowl)
HP: IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII 100%
Energy: IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII 100%
Status: Popular and hating it

<Team Windows>
Neptune (male Clamperl)
HP: IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII 100%
Energy: IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII 100%
Status: Hungry

Arena Status: A beach. Just a normal beach.

MATCH

The two opponents, Hermes, a sleepy Noctowl and Neptune, a determined Clamperl, study each other on the warm sands of the beach. As they cautiously eye each other, Clamperl, while stumbling around clumsily, bumps into Noctowl’s house blend, spilling it all over the leather upholstered chair that it had carried out to the sea’s edge. Noctowl angrily begins the round.

-- BEGIN –

Double Team creates 8 clones, icy wind destroys all of them, but Clamperl really has to make a strong one, damaging Hermes a bit too. Both pogeys are confused by supersonic, but Clamperl moreso since its one of Hermes’ natural moves. The two beams collide successfully, but neither’s effects (-- Sp def, frozen) occurred.

ROUND 1: “Stuff”

-- END --

<Team Belgium>
Hermes (male Noctowl)
HP: IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII 88%
Energy: IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII 83%
Status: Slightly Confused, Feeling arrogant. No clones.

<Team Windows>
Neptune (male Clamperl)
HP: IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII 92%
Energy: IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII 84%
Status: Confused, still hungry.

Arena Status: Still A beach.

Hungry? I just fed you... and if you win I'll give you an extra meal!

So lets get to it. Start off with a Water Pulse, lets try and further confuse that owl.

Next, use another Ice Beam.

And finally, try a Rain Dance to make it more difficult for him to manuever and put you at an advantage.

If he tries Hypnosis, close your eyes and Relax to avoid it. But if you do happen to fall asleep, Sleep Talk.

Water Pulse ~ Ice Beam ~ Rain Dance
Subs: Avoid Hypnosis by closing eyes and Relaxing, Sleep Talk if asleep

BTW, what did you mean by "natural move" Mega Horny? I don't mind that you reffed it as more effective, but it looks as though both Clamperl and Noctowl have to learn Supersonic via breeding. Unless you mean that its Normal type and so is Noctowl...

Noctowl is a more 'soundproof' pokemon in general and by natural move, i meant, Owls are seemingly more adept at making noises than clams.

Use Double Team and avoid getting hit, use it to counter Icebeam aswell. Use a Confusion to help him get a headache and finally set up a 10% Substitute.

Lets hope on some Double Team + 'hurting itself in confusion' luck.

Status: Confused, still hungry.

Arena Status: Still A beach.

ROUND 2: “Whooopaaaa!”

-- BEGIN –

As the round begins, both Pokemon are still brimming with energy and ready for more. Noctowl cocks its head to one side, in a rather, “What, you challenge me?” manner.

Hermes begins by creating a wide circle of 8 clones, just in time, as Clamperl spouts out a swift water pulse, splashing into a clone uselessly.

Frustrated, Neptune follows up with an ice beam, hardening into a sharp shard and flying towards Hermes. It impaled a clone, and kept going through as the doppelganger shattered, impaling another clone and continuing its route directly into Notowl’s left wing. The attack was weakened due to the previous clones, but it still pained the bird pokemon a great deal.

Angrily, Hermes turns her head in a full circle, hooting profanities as he went. He closed his eyes and a purple aura surrounded Clamperl, giving him a bad headache and confusion as well.

Noctowl grinned evilly, creating a 10% substitute in the form of a small hideous Owl-like minifigure. Its wings could move up and down.

And Clamperl calls forth a rain dance, basking in the cool waters as Noctowls clones begin to shatter and pop. Two of the remaining five run over to their master, hiding under his large wings while their beloved brothers meet their cruel fate. How long can they survive?...

Hmm...

Ok Neptune, lets try this.

While it uses Sunny Day, try to clear your head some. Confusion doesn't bode well for any sort of strategy.

Then use Secret Power to deflect Noctowl's attack (preferably back at him, but at least make sure it doesn't hit you)

And finally, use Swagger. I somehow doubt the bird will be able to maintain the concentration to use telekenisis with you angering him, and I don't think the Substitute will help him much since the real thing still has to look at you to take control of you.

EDIT: Relax (Clear thoughts) ~ Secret Power ~ Swagger

ROUND 3: “M.U.D.”

-- BEGIN –

Our good friend Hermes begins this round by quickly clearing the skies of all rain, into a blue field of summer light. And our second favorite Clamperl snorts to this action, trying to think more clearly.

Next, Noctowl flaps its wings rapidly, sending a wave of brown gunk flying from the ground directly at Clamperl. Reacting quickly, Neptune manages to conjure forth a tall pillar of hardened earth from the ground, blocking a bit of the mud, but due to confusion it spun off to one side, leaving Neptune vulnerable to part of the attack. However, the confusion worked to his advantage and the pillar went flying directly into Noctowl’s substitute, giving it a headache and possibly neutering it as well.

Finally, Noctowl closed its eyes and began to lift Neptune into the air with its psychic energy, ready to throw it in the mud, as its two remaining clones chuckled on either side.

Clamperl, thinking quickly, began to torment Hermes by shouting rude and immature comments such as, “Zeus was always better than you,” or “Those winged sandals only made you look homosexual!” Rather than angering Noctowl, these comments caused him to crack up and his guffawing totally overshadowed his psychic attack, merely popping a few mud bubbles in front of clamperl, sending a sticky glob into its eyes.

Ok Neptune, not bad. Keep it up and we can win this yet.

First off, I want you to Dive into the water (you may not be able to see it well, but you should still be able to hear the tide). While your under there, the water should clear your eyes.

Stay under the water and use Double Team while your down there.

And on the last round pop up and use an Icy Wind instead of the standard Dive attack. That is, if the ref allows that. If not, then just go with the regular Dive popping up and attacking.

First set up a Reflect screen as he dives, follow it up by sending a barrage of Swift starts into the water, use them as tornados and fire towards the real Neptune. Fire a Whirlwind to make the Icy wind go back to Neptune, possibly freezing the water above him. If he uses Dive, just Fly higher.

Eh, you guys should know I don't ref energy loss as a KO anymore. It's pokebattles, not endurance battles, you know. Having 0% energy will hinder your moves and tactics for two rounds, until the Pokemon finds his 'second wind'. See how it works out...

Pre-Battle Stats

Hermes (M Noctowl)
Health: 72%
Energy: 60%
Status: Sub- 3% health.2 clones remain.

Neptune (M Clampearl)
Health: 80%
Energy: 64%
Status: Slightly confused, head aches.Blinded.

MLG and Hermes:
Reflect~Swift~Whirlwind
Elec and Neptune:
Dive~Double Team~Icy Wind

Round Four, Begin!

Trying to find some relief, Clampearl listens for the sound of the waves. The oyster has no problem comprehending that much, and happily hops for the water, diving in quickly. (-4% energy) He plunges into the crystalline waters, the mud on his eyes washing away. Hermes doesn't care so much. A beige transparent screen appears in front of the owl, before disappearing into nothingness. Its effects linger on. (-6% energy)

The cold water is pretty brisk, serving to snap Neptune out of his addled state. Refreshed, he quickly creates four clones, hoping to surprise his airborne opponent. (-4% energy) Unfortunately, a barrage of sharp stars cut through the water just then, smacking into him and disrupting his concentration. (5% damage, -3% energy) The stars' descent was slowed a bit by the waves, but it served its purpose.

Annoyed, Neptune surfaces and cracks his shell wider, releasing a breeze of cold intensity. (-6% energy) Thinking quickly, the owl flaps his wings quickly, trying to counter the wind. Hermes' large wingspan is perfectly capable of fending off the icy crystals, though he does lose some of his altitude. (-6% energy) However, the ice just melts in the water around Neptune, being too small to do much freezing.

Post-Battle Stats
Hermes (M Noctowl)
Health: 72%
Energy: 45%
Status: Sub- 3% health.2 clones remain.

Neptune (M Clampearl)
Health: 80%
Energy: 50%
Status: Feeling better. Annoyed.

Arena: Sunny for 4 more turns. Ground has hardened into clay. Reminds me of the battle with MH, eh MLG? (Ouch, too many letters.)

Round Five, Begin!

Hermes takes the skies, flying away from the water in a burst of speed. Neptune does his level best to slow her down, emitting a high pitched burst of sound. No matter how quick the owl can fly, you can't dodge sound...(-4% energy) However, the volume is slightly weaker when they reach Hermes' sensitive ears. As he takes aim at the oyster below, the irritable buzzing in his forehead throws off his aim, and his Shadow Ball only manages to clip his target, knocking Neptune sideways. (7% damage, -7% energy) As he banks around, the Clampearl fires a beam of ice at his sub on the beach, shattering it.

With his sub destroyed, Neptune's attention snaps back to the true owl, flying above him. Just in time, Hermes surprises him with a cold beam of negative energy, sapping his strength for an instant with a direct hit. (9% damage, -7% energy) Graying slightly, the Clampearl nonetheless counters with orbs of randomly flucuating energy, which strike the true owl in the chest. (8% damage, -6% energy) All of a sudden, Hermes feels drowsy....the Noctowl crashlands into the shallows, half-asleep. Upon contact with the water, however, he immediately wakes and coos in shock, flapping madly.

Hmm.... I coulda sworn I was attacking second this round, something last night made me think I might be needing to go first.

Losing my miiiiiiiind, tralala!

Alrighty Neptune, he's in the water. Summon up a Whirlpool to try and trap him there.

If you successfully trap him, then make a nice wave with Surf and crush him. If he gets away, use Icy Wind to chill his wings and (hopefully) either slow him down or make him land.

And finally, put up your own Substitute, of a medium size.

Ok, Hermes, Whirlwind in the opposite direction to counter the whirlpool, then fly over the Icy Wind, high in the sky and smash him. Then use Sky Attack and try to smash his substitute in one go.

Hmm...guess I'm still reffing this. HooRAY for 64 free reffings.

Elec and Neptune:

Round Six, Begin!

Now Hermes is in a bit of a pickle. Neptune smirks, diving beneath the waves and circling below the squawking owl, round and round, faster and faster... Noting the current's change, Hermes tries to flap his wings in the opposite direction of the current. It's not all that effective- his waterlogged feathers vs. Neptune's superior swimming speed is an ill match-up.(-6% energy) The forming Whirlpool isn't as strong as usual, but the suction is powerful enough to hold Hermes captive. The Noctowl desperately tries to keep his head above water, as Neptune surfaces. (5% damage, -5% energy)

Linking his mind with the ocean around him, Neptune suddenly feels connected to the ocean life around him. Everything makes ripples..and the ripples Hermes is creating at the moment is a disturbance, unnatural. So...he should crush it! Cackling madly, the Clampearl splashes once, creating a large wave, which roars towards Hermes. Hermes' eyes widen, right before the wave knocks the breath out of him and pushes him onto shore, winded. (10% damage, -7% energy) Struggling, he begins to dry off his wings, completely soaked.[/yellow]

Satisfied, Neptune creates a small plush replica of himself, using a mixture of sea salt, seaweed and... uhm, stuffing. (15% damage, -10% energy) The Substitute floats easily in the water, retaining no water. His wings dry now, Hermes takes to the air with incredible speed, glowing a light orange color. He shrieks triumphantly as he darts into the air, banking and building up speed, before dive-bombing down into the substitute. The impact cremates the faux Clampearl, though it had its costs...(15% damage, -12% energy)

Well, the battles almost over, so if you really want Ace can finish it, but I can also try and do so myself if it makes any difference. I dont really know how the point system works in one of these, but im guessing ace recieves 2 points and i recieve none?

Well, it says the ref who refs the majority of the battle recieves the points. I've reffed 3 rounds and you've reffed 3, but this was your battle. If you wanna finish, you can take the spot again, and I'll get lost. It's really up to you. It IS a 2 on 2, right?

Yes it is, so the battle isn't finished. So either MH or Ace takes the spot now and automaticly gets the majority of the reffings.

Alright Hermes use Hypnosis! Then follow up with Double Team. If he fell asleep use Dreameater for the last move, if he didn't use Nightshade.

Hypnosis - Double Team - Dreameater/Nightshade.

*shrug* Fine with me Horny. But just a question.... are you going to go back to 0% energy = KO or are you going to "adopt" Ace's energy explenation, where hitting 0% slows you down for a while (but you can still attack) and then you get 30% energy back?

And a big thanks to Ace for stepping in and taking up the subreffing.

Now, Neptune. Lets do it.

Start off by closing your eyes and relaxing.

Then use a wide Blizzard to knock out those clones and do some nice damage.

End by slamming him with a Secret Power.

No prob guys. And technically, Elec, I 'stole' the energy thing from you. Hehe. Sorry.

I'd go for the latter, Mega Horny, since both Pokemon have about half their health left. Reffing may be faster, but it's not a fun battle if you have the health lead but lose due to energy.

Yeah, i didnt really follow the way Elec explained it so ill try and stick t the usual method if thats ok. Im not completely done catching up on Ace's reffings, so it wont be in right away, but ill try to complete it promptly.
