To whoever finds this letter.

I write this in the hope that someone hasn’t succumbed to this madness finds it/ This hopefully will answer any questions as to why the RPG forums are in such a state.

It all began with the disappearance of Kalah, one of our beloved leaders. All she left was a letter of resignation of her leadership duties and a second letter. I can still remember what it said…

“I apologize for leaving without telling you all, but I have fearful news. Something is wrong with the forums. I’m not sure what, but I’m sure it can only lead to disaster. I’ve gone to the heart of the forums to find the cause of this problem and hopefully destroy it.”

I should have taken it as a warning. We all should have. Of course, none of us knew what would happen.

A week past before it happened. Slowly but surely, the RPG forums began to twist and transform into a horrific and nightmarish mockery of itself. The once beautiful scenery became the thing you see in nightmares.

And it didn’t just stop with the land itself. Many of the Rpers themselves began to change. Many that I considered friends became twisted and monstrous parodies of themselves. They’re no longer the people I knew.

Though it seems some of us have been able to hold on against this insanity, even though I doubt there’s anyone who’s completely unaffected. I hope you are one of them.

I’m currently searching the forums for the source of this madness and hopefully a way to restore things to the way they were. I wish for anyone who’s sane to do the same, or at least keep from succumbing to this insanity.

Ok, for those who don’t know what’s going on, I’ll explain it to you. The RPG forums has been warped into a nightmarish version of itself (those who’ve played American McGee’s Alice, it’ll be kinda similar to wonderland in the game) and a number of Rpers have fallen in suit. There have been a few that have staved off going completely insane and transforming, but there are very few who have remained completely unaffected.

Anyway, here’s the sign up.

Nickname: What you prefer to be called.
Age: preferably your real age.
Gender: same goes for this one too.
Sanity: sane, barely sane or insane. Insane, you’re pretty much a warped, monstrous version of yourself. Barely sane, while still relatively human, you have at least one deformity. Sane is when you’re completely human. I wont accept many sane people though.
Appearance: duh. If you’re insane, be creative with it. Think monstrous, think completely messed up.
Personality: duh
Weapons/Abilities: be creative. I will allow some guns in this. Insane people can also have some powers if they want to (barely sane can have some too, but they wont be as powerful).

Gender: Male
Sanity: Barely Sane
Appearance: Standing at about 5’76’’ with a lean build and a slightly pale complexion. Ben’s got shortish brown hair with blonde streaks and brown eyes.

As for clothing, he wears a red jacket, a white undershirt which partially left open and is missing a right sleeve, red pants, black shoes, a red top hat and glasses.

What makes him stand out is his right arm. It’s mechanical. His arm is a series of cogs and wheels and his hand is a grotesque metal claw.
Personality: Quiet, reserved, and constantly in thought. Ben’s main goal for now is to hopefully find a cure to the madness sweeping the forums and to prevent himself from going insane like everyone else. His mechanical arms serves as a constant reminder of this.
Weapons/Abilities: He carries a large scythe with a red blade. While it’s best used with two hands, he can use it with one. His claw arm can also shoot out like a grappling hook. Nifty for getting to high reach places or dragging people towards you.

Gender: Female

Sanity: Sane ('Cause someone has to be. ^_^)

Appearance: Short, chubby with dark brown hair that was once dyed strawberry blonde, but its grown out since then, giving her hair a "two-toned" appearance. Can be semi-accurately described as "cute in the Pooh-bear sense" and not actually attractive in any real sense of the word. (Though she's not self-deprecating at all.) Her eyes are light blue in color. She tends to dress in casual clothes that are usually blue in color.
Personality: She has a great sense of humor and will do just about anything for a laugh. She's friendly and easy-going, although thoroughly self-conscious. She doesn't really think before she speaks, and she has a tendency to be very vindictive at the drop of a hat if someone insults her or makes her angry. Normally, however, she's pretty fun to be around.

Weapons/Abilities: One very large and annoying mallet. ^_~

Relationships: None at the moment, but the door's open.

Other: "C'est la vie, la vie Boheme, and all that jazz" is her catchphrase... Also has a unhealthy obsession with Broadway musicals and Norbert Leo Butz. Hehehehe

Then again... I would probably react in an easy-going, "this is sort of funny way" if I were in the situation, whether I was sane or not. Part of my (or lack thereof) charm. ^^;;;

Appearence:6'3", large white overcoat brown hair, red U.S.A. shirt under it, Hazel eyes (when using abilitie light blue) a face like Lance Armstrong, black slacks, black shoes,he stands out when he's not wearing his overcoat, because he has another set of arms( look just like the normal ones muscular and long).

Personality:A great but sometimes dangerous sense of humor but if you get him mad watch out, also wants a cure.

Weapons/Abilities: when his eyes turn blue when he blinks it teleports him weither he likes it or not,super-human strength, and can climb up flat surfaces, a long polearm is his only weapon but he only uses it when needed.

Relationships: friends with Ben
Other: likes to arm westle himself, knows basic medical stuff, his catch phrases are, I'll take you on with 3 arms tied behind my back, and I'll take 4 of you on with one arm each.

I'd be glad to participate in this RPG - Insane would be just.. Fun! But I have a quick question, when you're insane, do you look human at all - or can you be some odd.. Er.. Feline creature - as it kinda fits with my username, but I want to know the limitations first before I start on a sign up.

Well, you could look vaguely human, or at least have some charactristic to show that you were once human. Really the limits of what you look like when insane are limitless.

Sanity: Barely Sane, having just slipped from fully sane.

Appearance: Wears a black robe and hood, with a rope belt, sort of like some dark monk. His face is pale, but he has cold blue eyes and blonde hair under the cowl. His only real deformity is his eyes - looking directly into them gives people chills.

Personality: If he were compared to a character in American McGee's Alice, he'd be most like the Caterpillar. As his name implies, he's a sage and an intellectual, and isn't afraid to show off his wisdom in all areas. He is sympathetic towards anyone who has slipped into madness, and hopes that a solution can be found before he is among the mad. He is helpful towards anyone who desires his help. He likes quoting famous and historic people.

Weapons/Abilities: He has studied, and knows both magic and alchemy. Not enough really to manifest any destructive powers, but he understands all manner of eldrich items, and can use them with ease.

Relationships: It is rumored that he has a lover that is currently among the insane. Whether he has left her to her fate or still has custody of her somewhere is not known.

Other: The Dark Sage is a font of knowledge and wisdom, in a world gone mad, and he tries to bring order to chaos.
