OK, forgive me for being stupid, but I've Googled and Asked loads and I can't seem to come up with an answer. I recently ordered Leaf Green and was wondering if there is any way to link an old, original model of the GBA up to the DS? Just gonna be a pain if I have to keep going through Colosseum, especially with the fact that you have to unlock trading this way in FRLG, and it takes a considerable amount of time! I'm thinking the answer is no, but I thought it best to ask here, since everyone here seems to know more about these things than I do!

You can't hook any model of the gba up to the ds, let alone an old version, so the answer is no i'm afraid.

Wow, talk about a serious flaw in design...I would have thought, since it plays gb games, it would atleast link up with the infared one, since it seems to use that to communicate to other dses

Same here, thought there'd be some sort of wifi / wireless connector link up type of thing. Also the fact that the DS plays GBA games made me think it might be possible. Thanks for your help!

OK, off topic, but I don't want to be a pain in a whole knew topic! Just a quick Q about trading to evolve. I was just wondering if say I were to raise an Onix, but not evolve it to Steelix until around level 60-65 since I'd have to wait and unlock the trading to Colosseum, would Steelix suffer any disadvantage to it's stats as a result of late evolution?

Thinking I might just buy a used GBA for £20 to solve these problems/moans!

I'm not sure about stats, but at Lv.49(GSC,RSE), Lv.52(LFG), Steelix learns Crunch, at the same levels, Onix learns Sand Tomb...only thing I saw different...

Would it be possible to learn this move later via one of the tutors? For example the guy in RS who'll let you re-learn a move for a heart scale, or whatever he asks for. I forget as I've never used it, but hopefully you know the one I mean! Just not sure if you have to have written over the move to re-learn it, or just not know it at a certain level!

If you raise Onix until it learns Sand Tomb, and then AT THAT SAME LEVEL trade-evolve it, it will then learn Crunch as well.
You can also get both moves by the Move Relearner guy. Even if Onix is level 78 when you finally get around to evolving it, the Move Relearner can teach it Crunch after it's evolved.

Also, your stats aren't affected at all by when you evolve. It's just a myth that they are.
