As the battle continues, the trainers quickly issue their next set of commands. Round 18 promises to be interesting indeed.
Struggling with the immense pain he's under, Rhoas tries to ignore the stress as he concentrates. Horsea wastes no time, hoping to finish off his injured foe. He focuses for a moment, and then fires out an orb of redish energy at the electric type. The draconic energy barrels toward Elekid with impressive speed. As it flies, the plug pokemon manages to pull of his defensive technique, creating a duo of visible clones aside him. The 3 close their eyes and cover themselves, preparing for the assault. As the energy makes contact with one of the 3 Elekid, an explosion occurs. Rhoas becomes enshrouded in a light smoke as a grunt is heard. The cloud quickly clears, revealing a single Elekid standing alone, holding his body. A look of pain covers his face as he groans, and then falls over, overcome by the pain.
Horsea smiles, knowing that it was entirely up to luck, but happy with himself nonetheless. Mystic_Clown is a bit disappointed by his defeat, but this battle isn't over yet. He reaches for his pokeballs as the round concludes.

Disgruntled, Mystic Clown returns his fallen Elekid, a red beam emitting from his pokeball to pull him back in. He quickly pulls out a third ball and tosses it hard at the ground. It bounces and then opens to reveal a small Ghost, jewels on his body glimmering. As he catches the ball, MC shouts his commands to the fresh ghost type, while Metallix's Girl issues her own orders to her tired but determined Horsea.
Wasting no time against his watery opponent, Creeper's jewel eyes flash brightly, emitting a whitish light that engulfs Horsea. The little sea horse looks a bit dazed while he tries to focus on his command. Thoughts utterly scrambled, he can't seem to remember how to go about creating a watery attack. He shakes his head, trying to clear his mind and make some sense of whats happening.
Seeing his foe in trouble, Creeper grins a large, toothy grin as he chuckles. His body sparks mildly, and he holds out his arms as he sends forth a barrage of small electric bolts. As each bolt accurately connects with the water type, he screeches in pain. Still trying to deal with the confusion but knowing that he has to do something, Horsea starts building a powerful poison within his mouth, mixing ink with other chemicals. He is about to spew the concoction, when suddenly his paralysis surfaces yet again. The Horsea feels his muscles lock up, leaving the toxins to simply leak out of his mouth and splatter onto the ground in front of him. Creeper laughs, thus far seeing nothing threatening about this Horsea that somehow managed to beat the previous pokemon.
But his assault continues. Sableye holds his hands on the sides of his central jewel, as it flashes with ghostly energy. With a cry he fires a dark beam of negative energy from the jewel, straight at the little water type. Horsea recovers from his paralysis, and though still under confusion, quickly blows out a strong cold wind. He had hoped to deflect the attack, but unfortunately the wind has little effect on a beam of energy with no physical substance, and the beam shoots through the icy blast. As it hits Horsea, he feels his life energy sapped away as his body darkens, the cells of his body under direct assault. Creeper, meanwhile, feels the chill of the cold wind, experiencing a brief bout of frostbite.
Horsea quickly recovers from the attack, regaining his natural color, though he is beginning to feel quite drained of energy and even still the havok in his mind persists. Sableye grins at his trainer, a bit cold but otherwise performing excellently.

Eager, Mystic orders his pokemon to finish his foe quickly. Meanwhile, Metallix's Girl orders a last-ditch effort, knowing that her Horsea can't continue forever.
Tapping into the last of her energy, Horsea closes his eyes, focusing on summoning a storm. A deep blue aura surrounds him as the clouds slowly roll in overhead. At the same time, Creeper's body sparks briefly as he sends a number of electrical spears toward the weak sea horse. As the electric bursts hit Horsea, he feels a stinging, and lets out a cry. The last spark hits him, and he opens his eyes weakly before collapsing to the ground, singed and exausted. It seems as though Horsea's final attack was in vain, until a light rain starts to fall from the overhead clouds. Though not as strong as it would usually be, it seems that it wasn't a complete failure.
Hoping to get himself in fighting shape, Creeper grins as his body glows brightly, regenerating itself. As the glow dies down, he feels quite ready to fight this next opponent.
As the ghost type relaxes, conserving energy as he awaits his next foe, Metallix's Girl recalls the fallen seahorse into his pokeball, before reaching for her third and final pokeball.

VERY well done, Horsea! All right, Pichu, come on out! First, set yourself up a Light Screen and this rain should be enough for a decent Thunder Wave and lastly, strengthen the storm with a Rain Dance of your own!
Edit: How do Normal Attacks effect Ghosts in ASB? Would something like Charm work?
Charm would work, yes. The only thing that doesn't work is physical contact attacks of the Normal/Fighting type, at least as far as I ref. Return, Tackle, Brick Break, and so on.
Swift and Hyper Beam even work on ghosts, as far as I'm concerned. Even though normal in type, they still are energy-based, and ghosts aren't immune to energy, only physical form. And Hyper Voice and Uproar as well, I suppose. Maybe even Present.

MG reaches for her final ball for use in the battle, and flicks it to the ground. Opening, it reveals a hyper female Pichu, who lets out a shrill cry and hops about. Creeper looks toward the little mouse, grinning mischeviously. The ghost thinks to himself how fun this will be as the 2 trainers shout their commands to the 2 fresh pokemon.
Calming herself, Pichu holds out her hands and concentrates. A transparent, barely visible mauve screen takes shape before her, presumably protecting her from energy-dependent attacks. While she makes the screen, Creeper looks to the ground. With the rain, mud wouldn't be a problem, but like Skarmory before him he finds it quite impossible to fire off debris when the surface of the tower is free of such mediums. He frowns and mumbles something to himself.
Pichu giggles, and then her cheeks begin to spark. She releases a shower of mild yet paralyzing sparks around her body, and as her trainer expects the current is transfered about the arena by the wet surface. The electricity flows over the surface of the clock face, skipping from puddle to puddle and creating an interesting light show. Creeper winces as he feels the sparks flow to his body, his muscles experiencing a strange tingling sensation. The Sableye shakes his head, shrugging off the paralysis for the moment as his foot starts to glow with an earthen aura. With a shout he stomps his foot on the clock face, energy flowing into it. Though not truly rocks, a few of the inner parts of the clock are effected by the energy. They jut up out of the clock face, slamming against the little electric mouse as they trap her within.
The little rodent spends a few moments getting her bearings and trying to figure out how to get out of this trap. But she soon realizes that she doesn't need to get out for her command. She focuses, surrounded by a deep blue aura. A rumble of thunder is heard overhead, and the rainstorm intensifies in strength. The falling rain is now a total downpoor. It doesn't appear to bother Creeper too much, and he stands calm under the torrential rainfall.
The trainers also stand under the rainfall, intent on winning the battle and ignoring the weather. They consider their next commands as Pichu continues to try and figure out how to escape from the machine parts.

As the rainfall continues, the two trainers shout over the noise to their respective pokemon. Creeper nods and, though unseen, Pichu does as well, as round 21 commences.
Ready to really go on the offensive agains this little foe, Creeper runs up to the array of cogs trapping Pichu. He phases his ghostly body through the trap, grinning. Pichu is a bit shaken as the scary ghost pokemon appears through the cogs, but nevertheless continues with her order. Looking up to the sky, the baby pokemon makes a wish on an unseen star. As if answering the call, she suddenly feels a boost of energy and confidence. As she does, Sableye approaches the mouse and lashes out with an outstreched hand, gashing the little Pichu's backside with his claws. She lets out a shriek before she turns toward the ghost, ready to fight it out.
Preparing for a second attack by her foe, Pichu focuses, surrounding herself with a faint blue aura. As if he doesn't even notice, Creeper raises both his arms before repeatedly whiping them forward, bringing claws to bear with each strike. Each attack against Pichu resaults in a weak concussive force being released, however to Pichu's dismay the ghost type seems uneffected by the blows as he continues to slash her fragile body. The counter isn't all for naught, though. The force of the counterattack, though passing harmlessly through Sableye, succeeds in moving the sides of the trap. Creeper grins frighteningly as he finishes his repeated attacks, admiring his work.
Pichu wimpers a bit, body scratched up by Creeper's repeated attacks, but she continues to stay vigilant. Acknowledging her trainers order, she patiently awaits the ghost's next move. As expected, the darkness pokemon does what he does best. His body fades into the darkness itself, and he moves unseen through the shadows. He reveals himself behind Pichu just before he excecutes a tackle, sending her sprawling to the ground with a thud. Pichu quickly hops up and, taking advantage of the dislodgement of the trap from her Counter, slips her small body through a hole between the cogs.
Now safely outside, Pichu anxiously awaits her next commands. Creeper remains inside the trap, knowing full well he can escape easily at any time. The rain continues to pour over the arena, which is now completely soaked, with water running off the sides of the tower.

ROUND 22 BEGINS!
As one ref bows out the door is dramatically thrown open to reveal his replacement. Both pokemon ignore him however and he feels completely deflated.
Gettin on with the battle the Little Pichu unleashes a Thunder attack towards its opponent, targetting the raised pile of Cogs that form the trap on the floor. Though Creeper cant be seen it can be heard yelling out in pain as the electric attack hits home. As it dies down, as if in answer a bolt of energy lashes out across the floor, similar to earlier with the same effect. Cogs and debris from the Clock face burst from the ground and encase the small electric type in a second trap.
Creeper, happy with his work phases himself out of hiding and moves quickly towards the newly formed structure around its foe. Dissapearing from sight and only reappearing to phase through the new construction and attack its foe. As it phases however Pichu carries out its orders. Launching a Second Thunder attack. Due to the trap its Range is greatly reduced, but range isnt a problem when your enemy is moving through the walls. Although managing to land its attack on Pichu Creeper is damaged by the powerfull Electric attack but still feeling confident, fades from sight again.
Once more it appears as the Trap is lit up with a powerfull electric attack. Creeper phasing through the structure and colliding with the Pichu before being electrocuted.

*Battle*
The battle continues, neither battler giving the other a moment of rest. Each are eager for victory, as they shout their commands for Round 25.
Pichu tries to focus through her clouded thoughts, hoping to hit the ghost with a swift electric attack. She manages to build up a small current within her cheeks, but the bothersome confusion resurfaces as she does, the electricity harmlessly discharging into the air. As Pichu harmlessly sparks, Creeper grins. But the feeling doesn't last long. Just as the ghost starts to crouch down into a digging position, he feels all the muscles in his body start to seize up. The Sableye topples to the ground, unable to move his body (and by the way, digging into a solid clock tower isn't a great idea).
The electric mouse breaths heavily, finally managing to stop the wild discharge. She takes a moment to clear her thoughts, sitting calmly on the ground. As the little Pichu focuses herself again, Creeper quickly hops up, still twitching a bit from the electrical paralysis but able to move. He lets out a quiet moan as his body glows brightly, his cells regenerating themselves as he concentrates. The glow subsides, and the darkness pokemon appears much healthier for his efforts, though his muscles are still experiencing the unpleasent paralysis.
Now thinking much more clearly, Pichu ponders what to do next. She knows that Creeper never went underground, so she wonders what he'll do now. Still, she prepares to protect herself just in case he launches a dangerous attack. Creeper himself isn't sure what he's going to do. He can't very well use a dig attack from above ground. Instead of simply wasting his turn, he decides to improvise. His eyes glow eerily, throwing a nasty and intimidating look toward Pichu. She doesn't expect the nasty look and isn't able to protect from it in time, getting slightly intimidated by the glare. At the same time, a faint black aura encircles her, intending to trap the Pichu and prevent any sort of possible teleportation attempt.
Both pokemon still seem able to battle, and the trainers are no less able. They contemplate their next moves as the wind whistles, high above the tower.

Neither trainer is letting up, and as Round 26 kicks off the two shout their next commands frantically. The pokemon acknowledge the orders as they get right back into the battle.
Quite fond of rainfall, and feeling the need once again, Pichu focuses on recalling the clouds once more. As a deep Cerulean aura surrounds her body, Creeper's crystaline eyes begin to shimmer. In moments, a bright beam of strange light fires out of the darkness pokemon's gemstone peepers, hitting Pichu square in the head. The little mouse feels a bit strange, her thoughts wandering wildly from the blast. Creeper smiles, glad he foiled the attack, although a very light mist is falling from the thin layer of clouds overhead.
The little Pichu mumbles her name as she tries to clear her thoughts enough to determine what to do next. As she does, Sableye slinks off, taking position behind the previously erected tomb. He sits on the ground, legs crossed, as he enters a hypnotic trance. While Creeper does so, his body begins a supernatural healing process, shimmering faintly as the cells regenerate themselves. Finally clearing her thoughts enough to remember, Pichu begins drawing a large amount of electricity from her internal power core, knowing that she will need a lot of power to pull of this next set of attacks. Her cheeks begin to spark ferociously, the amount of energy so intense that loud crackling can be heard across the arena.
Despite her confusion, the little Pichu saw exactly where Creeper went, and she wastes no time. She dashes toward his locaction on all fours, large arcs of electricity now dancing across her entire body. With a determined warcry, Pichu slides around the corner through the water, and with Sableye in range leaps forward. She slams into the sleeping ghost, or rather through him, and though the physical strike is undermined the high voltage of the sparks surrounding her take a heavy toll on the gem-adorned spirit. As the sheer power surges through the ethereal form, Pichu lands a few feet away, cheeks still surging with power. She quickly hops around to face Sableye again, and with a second cry sends a powerful electrical burst up into the sky. It quickly arcs downward once more, jutting through the sky and coming down on the entranced dark type. As the current overtakes his body, he makes no noise, though his cells struggle to keep up with all the damage they are recieving.
The ghost continues to maintain his trance as though nothing happened, though he is clearly quite hurt by Pichu's assault. The mouse breaths heavily, having expending a great deal of energy in a short amount of time, and still a bit detached from reality.

[color=mediumpurple]Hmmm, it took us forever to do this match, and we are SOOOO close to being done with it... It's waaaay over the DQ limit, but I don't want to DQ it, Mystic... If you want it to end though, I'll go ahead and DQ, let me know...
[color=mediumpurple]I can't believe I'm doing this, but I guess I should call DQ on this match...I really need the points and I want to battle some more... Did M_c post in the Absence tower? If he did, and I missed it, then I'll wait, but if not...then I guess it's time to DQ...
I didn't see anything in the absence tower either.... looking at his profile, it seems he's been active at the forums today, but I haven't seen any posts in ASB from him in a long while.
*shrug* It has been quite a long time.
