[font=sylfaen] Heya, mind if I battle you? I'm going to use Kablooie Louie my Voltorb.

The area is um, were Ash's fought that Bellsprout with his Muk in the Indigo League. Just grass, but I'd like to add a few trees and a pond in the centre. All good by you?

[font=sylfaen] Rightoe, Louie this is what I want you to do,

First Mirror Coat that Night Shade, he won't like that Ghost energy back at him. Then Flash him AFTER he hits you with the Faint Attack. Gets in full in the face. Finally Mimic that newly inaccurate Shadow Ball.

I'm going to refer to Louie as a male, even though he's genderless. Saying "it" all the time just kills the flow of the reffing :p

    c0n5p1r4cy vs River
    Round 1

    *Pre-Round*
    Kelpie (Male)

    *Battle*
The two trainers approach the currently vacant stadium, the league finals not in progress at this point. Each trainer enters through a different side, taking their places in the trainer boxes. On one side stands Conspiracy, a relative newcomer to battling. Opposite him stands River, grinning mischeviously. Eager for the battle to begin, River reaches into her pack and pulls out a standard pokeball. She quickly tosses it forward, and with a flash of light it opens to reveal... another pokeball? Her opponent eyes it strangely, wondering if this is some sort of wierd joke. A low humming noise is heard as the ball rotates, revealing a set of rather annoyed looking eyes. Conspiracy chuckles to himself, before reaching down to his belt. He pulls off his own pokeball, shouting "Lets go, Kelpie" and with a determined toss reveals the ghostly form of a Shuppet. The ghost squints for a second, not used to being out in the sunlight. Voltorb eyes his opponent for a brief moment before the trainers quickly issue thier first commands, hoping for an early lead.

Now past the shock of the sunlight, Keplie concentrates. He taps into his ghostly energy as his eyes turn an inky black. In the blink of an eye, the floating puppet fires a jagged, jutting beam of darkness toward the psuedo-pokeball. The ghastly beam cuts through the sky, but soon takes a strange turn. Unexpectedly, the inky blast is deflected off the surface of Louie's body, which shimmers as though encased in glass. The Shuppet lets out a suprised cry as his own attack speeds back at him. The blast hits the suprised pokemon, causing him to wince as he feels an unearthly pain within his cells. Louie grins (or as much as a Voltorb can), knowing that even though he felt the attack a bit, his foe surely felt it more.

Intent on avoiding another painful situation like the one he just experienced, Kelpie focuses on the world of shadow. His body slowly fades from view, and he moves silently through the world toward Voltorb. The vengeful spirit reemerges into the real world moments later, dealing a solid slam to the bomb ball from behind. Louie rolls forward a bit, then quickly spins himself around, sparks dancing across his body. He utilizes his electrical prowess in a unique way, causing a bright flash of light that eminates from his body. Kelpie gets the full effect of the light pulse, and as he frantically blinks his eyes he finds himself almost completely blind.

The Shuppet, in a wild panic, tries to no great effect to locate his foe. He starts building an orb of ghostly energy in front of himself. Little does he know that his opponent is intently watching, hoping to copy the ghosts own attack for later use. While he watches, he quietly rolls away from his prior location, just to make sure he doesn't take a hit from the ghosts' memory. But Keplie is too frantic to even think that he should try and fire where he last saw Louie. He fires off the dark energy ball, aiming at nothing in particularly and simply hoping for a hit. He hears the explosion as the puppet continues to blink his eyes. And although Louie doesn't get hit with the brunt of the attack, he does feel a small portion of the ensuing explosion, taking mild damage. Still, he is content, having sucessfully learned the method for firing off a Shadow Ball.

The dust from the small explosion quickly clears, revealing a fairly substancial hole within the grassy field, a few feet away from Louie. Shuppet continues to try and clear his vision, as the two trainers ponder what their next attacks should be.

[font=sylfaen] Good going Louie, now since he probably won't let us use Shadow Ball, I would like you to use Light Screen, then a Charge and finally a Thunderbolt. If he tries to Imprison you, use a Screech to break his concentration and turn away if he Flashes.

Let's make this round something Kelpie, Faint Attack the backside of Louie, then while he's charging make a small Substitute. Then watch from a reasonable distance as Louie shatters your sub (probably eh lol) before firing off a powerful Night Shade.

    *Battle*
The two trainers are still feeling one another out, as they carefully consider their actions. Without too much delay, each issues a set of orders for Round 2.

Still feeling confident in himself, Louie concentrates on defense. He carefully concentrates, channeling his energy into a translucent screen in front of his body. While the Voltorb sets up his defense, the still visually impaired Kelpie quietly disappears into the shadows once more. As he moves, he tries to clear up his vision, and does indeed manage to regain enough to locate his orb-shaped foe, targetting especially carefully thanks to his vision. His body reappears as he slams his spiked head into the pokeball lookalike, and as he does Louie lets out a cry.

Voltorb rolls forward from the impact, but soon steadies himself. Without wasting any time, he concentrates. A fury of sparks dance across his round body as he prepares himself for an electrical assault, drawing extra electricity from the air to raise his power level. Meanwhile, Kelpie seems to be gathering up his own energy in front of him, in the grass. The grass is drawn to the energy, and begins to form a strange looking doll. As the grass takes shape, it looks more and more like a Shuppet, until finally, the floating ghost transfers some of his own life energy into the being. It glows yellow, and then floats up into the air. Vision finally returning, Kelpie quietly hides himself in the grass, leaving his grass dummy to take the ensuing assault.

And take it, he does. Having gathered a substancial amount of extra electrical energy from the surroundings, Kablooie Louie turns his attention to his adversary. The psuedo-Shuppet looks odd, but the overcharged Voltorb pays it no heed. With a hum, a huge shower of sparks fly from his body, as a single, powerful electric bolt is sent flying straight at the grass doll with little delay. The bolt cuts through the air, hitting pseudo-Kelpie dead on. The electrical current surges throughout the doll, and it suddenly blows appart, sending bits of grass flying as the yellow bolt flies onward into the sky. Louie cuts the power, quite suprised and impressed at the same time. His attack was so powerful, he caused his opponent to explode! The feeling is quickly dispersed when Louie feels dark pain cutting through his side. Kelpie's strategy worked, and the dusky beam hits the overjoyed electric pokemon powerfully. Louie temporarily loses color at the point of impact, as his face contorts to show the pain he's feeling.

The Voltorbs color quickly returns as the attack subsides, and he turns to face his ghostly foe. He is clearly quite peeved, having thought victory was already his. Kelpie simply grins darkly, as the trainers look on.

    *Battle*
The 2 pokemon stare at one another, both having shown they are not going down too easily. As the trainers issue their commands, the pokemon nod silently, waiting to see who makes the first move.

And the one who acts first is Louie, tapping into a small amount of electrical energy from his inner core. Electricity surrounds his round body, as Kelpie starts creating an orbous blob of ghostly energy in front of him. As soon as his body is completely covered in the current, a bright flash emits from it, lighting up the grass covered arena. The floating Shuppet feels a burning in his eyes following the burst, and prematurely releases his ghostly attack. The shadow bolt flies through the air, and though not quite up to full size it hits the target square in the face before the ball pokemon can roll out of the way. It sends Voltorb rolling back with an inky explosion of energy, while Kelpie blinks his eyes, yet again blinded.

Seeing his foe incapacitated again, Louie grins and rolls away yet again. He quickly remembers his order and focuses, utilizing his weather control abilities. A blue aura surrounds his body, as a group of dark storm clouds roll in overhead. A crack of thunder is heard, and a downpoor of falling raindrops begins, gradually building. Kelpie hears the building storm, but he still finds himself rather incapable of seeing clearly. Despite this, his eyes glow darkly, and he releases a jagged, ethereal beam toward what he thinks is a round outline. The beam cuts through the air, and the slams harmlessly into the earth. Doh.

Louie continues to be quite amused by his foe's futile attempts to hit him, and now starts to spark furiously. The vicious bomb ball, using the extra energy gathered the round prior, fires off a quick but powerful electric bolt. The attack arcs up into the air, then flies down straight at Kelpie through the falling rain. The spike on the ghost's head makes a nice focus point for the powerful lightning, and hits keenly at that very point. Shuppet lets out an agonized cry, the boosted electric current surging throughout his cells as a crackling echoes through the air from the shear power of the attack. It seems to surge forever, but finally the lightning dissipates, and the injured Kelpie opens his eyes. His vision remains slightly blurred, but Louie is still sparking lightly, and the ghost is able to get a target from the flickering sparks. He builds up a second orb of energy, this one full size, and headbutts it to send it flying toward the Voltorb. The purple orb slams Louie forceably, and sends him flying through the air and rolling a few feet, as he feels a deep pain within his body.

Though he suffered the brunt of a very powreful attack, Kelpie remains determined. He glares at Kablooie Louie, who is still rather calm, thanks to his protective screen.

Well, I'm just assuming that taunt will last for a few attacks...

Use that taunt to your advantage, take it to offense and use Frustration, if the effects of taunt last throughout the round, use Double-Edge x2. If taunt wears off after that first attack, Screech to throw off it's Thunder, then Psychic to torment its mind and throw off it's attack.

The downpoor started the round before rages on, but neither trainer seems bothered by it all that much. They concentrate on their attacks, before relaying them to their respective pokemon.

The electric ball pokemon, water dripping down his body, starts unexpectedly dissing his ghostly foe, hurling all manor of insults at the puppet to try and provoke him. And expectedly, Kelpie doesn't respond very well to the insults. He growls as he squints his eyes in rage, and in this state he wouldn't even think of attempting some pansy attempt at trickery. Shuppet wants to hurt his foe, and he doesn't delay. He flies through the falling rain toward Voltorb, who still appears quite smug. The spirit solidifies his body as he rams Louie, following up the attack with repeated tail strikes from every angle, a couple more tackles, and a ram with his spike for good measure. Louie winces under the punishment he's enduring, and all the while Kelpie feels his rage disipating, as he works out the anger with each blow.

The possessed puppet, now feeling much calmer for his efforts and having returned to his senses, starts emitting an ear-piercing cry. The high pitched sound echoes throughout the arena, and as Louie tries to recover from his beating he feels a biting pain from that very noise. Hoping to shut Kelpie up, Voltorb tries his best to focus his electrical energy, sparks once more dancing across his body. Quickly, he releases the energy, though to his dismay he is unable to focus it into one attack. Instead, 4 smaller bolts fly off in semi-random directions. 1 immedietly slams into the ground, jumping across the soaked dirt briefly before disappearing, while 2 more fly through the air some distance before all their energy is expended. The final bolt, however, manages to catch Kelpie with a grazing blow, and its just enough to cause the ghost to wince, cutting off the persistant screech.

Ears still ringing, but the source of the annoyance gone, Louie tries his best to concentrate. He remembers the attack he witnessed earlier in the battle and, though struggling a bit, begins to build up a spectral energy before his body. Shuppet grins, knowing he can do something to hopefully stop this attack right here and now. In the somewhat dark and stormy arena, a pair of blue glowing eyes appear, belonging to Kelpie. The ghost uses his supernatural psychic ability, seeking out his opponents mind. Finding it, he chuckles a bit as he starts poking and prodding the neural center with psionic blows. Louie grunts, trying to ignore the assault, but the repeated strikes to his mind, coupled with the relative difficulty of an attack he normally can't perform and the persisting ringing in his ears, proves too much. Louie completley loses his concentration, submitting to the prods as he winces. The growing ball of ghost energy bursts, the built-up energy released on the spot. Louie is hit by a bit of the ethereal shock, as Kelpie ceases the assault and smiles wickedly.

Voltorb frowns, feeling quite down and rather annoyed, but Kelpie is as happy as could be as the downpoor passes through his body. Round 4 draws to a close, as the watchful trainers look on.

BTW, Taunt would normally last about 2 rounds, but since Frustration has a calming effect (from the ASB Attack List) it effectively counteracts the negative feelings from Taunt.

[font=sylfaen] Um, by round did you mean only two attacks in that reffing turn? Or two sets of three attacks? It's just you also call Raindance round. I'm guessing disabling attacks only last one reffing turn for you? Eh, well no biggie, now Louie,

We be no happy with this so Teleport as fast as possible. Then two Thunder's Make sure the second is after Kelpie as reappeared.

    *Battle*
The trainers look on intently, soaking wet by now but rather ignorant of the fact. Without hesitation or mercy, they issue their orders as Round 5 starts.

Knowing that he's not in the greatest spot at the moment, Louie takes a look at a far-away location and concentrates. But before he can do much of anything, Shuppet darts in with surprising speed. He flutters into the air, then comes down with a light smash on his ball-shaped opponent, temporarily allowing himself to enter the mortal plain and become solid. Louie appears a bit suprised at the agile attack, but nonetheless he soon disappears with a flash. A good distance away and behind Kelpie, a second flash occurs as the Voltorb reappears, all in the blink of an eye.

Wasting no time, Kablooie Louie starts building an electric current, channeling his inner power. As sparks encircle him, Kelpie turns around, attracted by the flashing light and crackling in the air. With Voltorb in his sights, his eyes turn a shade of midnight black. A devilish black beam slices through the air, blasting an electrified Louie with darkness. He feels a cutting pain throughout his body, but this only further motivates him to finish his attack. With fortitude and determination, the bomb ball lets loose a powerful stream of electrical energy. An arcing path of bright yellow is cut through the air, lighting up the clouds above. Shuppet gets slammed head on, still recoiling from his own attack, and feels the powerful electric current surging through his ethereal body. He lets out a scream, while the current lights him up like a holiday bulb, even going so far as causing a brief muscle lock. Voltorb finally finishes discharging his energy, and the relative darkness of the storm takes over once more as both pokemon try to block out the pain.

Kelpie is still twitching a bit, his motor skills mildly effected by the electric attack, but Voltorb isn't waiting. Sparks begin to dance across his body, again drawing from the electric type's internal power plant. The spirit pokemon manages to regain full body control, and he fades completely into the shadow plane. Suddenly feeling much safer, Kelpie carefully approaches his target, completely undetected. Even as he approaches, the falling rain is lightening, nearing the end of its duration. Shuppet creeps up behind Louie, before uncloaking and quickly crashing into the foe. But Louie has been biding his time, and though the impact causes some pain, he uses the force to quickly turn around to face his ghostly opposite. His eyes glint, as he lets loose a second powerful bolt. The arena is lit up as it flies through the air, and Kelpie lets out a suprised yelp as the bolt flies straight at him. He tries to lunge out of the way, but his agility proves lacking as the electrical attack hits him with a vengeance. His eyes close as the power-packed blast makes its way through his fragile ghostly body, sparks flying.

The second impressive electric attack dissipates soon, but Kelpie is feeling the pain for certain. Kablooie Louie is feeling much better at this point, but the round wasn't a cakewalk for him either. Both trainers lsurvey the current situation, and the storm overhead appears to be done, the rainfall merely a mist and the clouds beginning to dissipate.

Let's do this Kelpie, Taunt, then Toxic when Louie is close, then a close range Shadow Ball should do some damage... hopefully you won't waste away too much energy.

    *Battle*
Both trainers stand at the ready, enjoying the fresh smell of rain for a moment before they issue their next set of commands. Both the combatant pokemon nod, not pulling any punches as Round 6 commences.

Louie, hoping to deal some real damage to his ghostly foe, once again delves into his memory. Using the previously gained knowledge, he starts constructing a ghostly orb in front of him, drawing ethereal energy from the air around him. Kelpie decides that he's going to try something his foe previously used, and he starts dissing his opponent with a vengeance. He even mentions the Voltorbs... mother? But either way, Louie doesn't take it too well. The bomb ball is fuming mad, and he feels much satisfaction as he sends the ghostly ball flying through the air at Kelpie. The abrasive spirit gets slammed in the head by the deep red bomb, the ensuing explosion of ethereal energy disrupting his own essence and causing a great deal of pain. Shuppet flutters around for a moment, regaining his bearings after blow.

The electric type takes advantage of Kelpie's momentary disruption, starting to spark once again as an electrical current flows through his pokeballesque body. With a furious buzz, Kablooie Louie fires off a powerful electric bolt, slicing through the sky toward Shuppet. The floating pokemon cries out as the surge surrounds him, giving him a severe shock. With a flash, the electricity is dissipated into the air, and Kelpie sighs in relief. He flies toward his round opponent, who is still sparking a bit, all the while building up a toxic mix within his mouth. As he nears Voltorb, the spirit lets the poisonous blob fly, and it soon splatters across Louie's body. He humms in agony, feeling the toxins burning while they enter his inner cavity.

Still feeling quite violent, Louie starts to build up a second ghostly energy ball. As the maroon orb builds, Kelpie starts chanelling his own energy, forming a similar ball but in a purple hue. Louie, agility being his strong suit, gains a sufficient build first, and he quickly launches the attack toward the nearby Kelpie. The wary ghost, recalling the pain he endured earlier, panics and releases his attack prematurely. The 2 bombs collide, causing an explosion of null energy of impressive magnitude. The blast spreads through the arena, hitting both pokemon , pushing them away from one another. Both pokemon appear injured by the attack, though Kelpie was closer to the blast and suffers a greater effect.

The 2 pokemon both appear to be experiencing labored breathing, each one beginning to wear down. Louie continues to be rather enraged by his foe, but also continues to feel a burning within his body, and the 2 trainers overlook the battle with eager anticipation. Round 6 has come to a close.

[font=sylfaen] Right lets use that anger to our advantage. Louie, roll right up BESIDE the ghosty. Then point blank Thunder him into the ground. He'll Shadow Ball you, but your right beside him, he'll enjoy the lovely explosion as well. Then do it again. If he's still alive, he's probably almost dead, so try a Shadow Ball yourself.

    *Battle*
A dampness hangs in the air, and Round 7 begins. With both pokemon beginning to suffer the effects of battle, the trainers issue what may be their last set of commands. Each pokemon nods, hoping to squeeze a win.

Still glaring at his foe, Louie starts to roll at high speed though the grass, toward his ghostly opponent. As he rolls, his body sparks vigorously, building a charge from his inner core. At the same time, Shuppet starts gathering an orb of ethereal power in front of him. As Voltorb rolls up next to his foe, he lets out a cry, and releases a stream of sparks upward at the floating ghost. Kelpie shrieks as he is engulfed in the powerful voltage of the attack. As the sparks disperse, the spirit turns toward Louie, struggling against the pain. He whips his tail forward, sending his violet sphere flying to the electric type. It doesn't have far to go, and in a moment Louie feels an inner pain as the ghost attack explodes around him. Wincing as his cells are destroyed from within, Voltorb takes comfort only in the yelp of pain from Kelpie, as bits of his own attack reach him.

Breathing labored, and feeling both fatigued and injured, Louie struggles to draw from his inner electrical reactor one final time. Current dances across his body, making a nice yellow light show across the red and white ball. Wimpering with every move, Kelpie starts gathering another collection of spirit energy, but doesn't get very far. An angry Louie releases the charge built around his body, sending yet another powerful stream of electricity up toward Shuppet. The ghostly puppet cringes and cries out, his body assaulted by the rush of electrons released by Voltorb. Attempting to maintain consciousness through the attack, Kelpie finds the world spinning around him. Despite his best efforts, the powerful blow proves too much for the fragile ghost, and he allows himself fall into slumber. No longer being held, the null energy that Kelpie was building is released in a brief explosion, which blows the Shuppet back. Motionless, the ghost falls to the ground silently.

Battle over, and suddenly cleared of his rage, Kablooie Louie slowly rolls over to his trainer, fatigued but happy. As River pats the bomb ball on the head, Conspiracy pulls out his pokeball and lets the red beam pull his beaten ghost back into safety.
