Round Twenty Two~ Begin!

Neptune knew that any moment now, Varda could unleash another Thunderpunch or other electric attack, which will surely wreak havoc on him. Neptune looks around, and was quite glad that it was raining. Using his shell, he scooped a handful of mud and splashed them all over his body. In a short moment, a mud-caked Neptune was formed, slightly contented. Varda paid no attention to this, as she was relaxing to regain some of her energy.

Neptune then moved to offensive, firing a blast of water towards Varda. The seemingly unaware Blaziken suddenly begins to spin fast, almost forming a tornado. The force of the spin was enough to send the blast of water splashing harmlessly around her.

Stopping the Water Gun attack, Neptune focused his inner psychic energy on lifting up the water around her in an attempt for another wave of water. Varda, who had now stopped from her trance-like spin, looked at her hands momentarily, feeling as if they had somehow became a lot lighter. She ran towards Neptune just as a wave of muddy water was about to hit them. She picked Neptune with her left hand, before she leapt up, performing an uppercut punch at the underside of Neptune (10% damage). She landed on the ground, safe from being touched by the wave of water. As for Neptune, the force of the punch sends him flying close towards the house, only stopping after he hit a skinny tree. He groaned in pain, doing his best to drag himself back to face his opposition.

Start off with an Iron Defense. Close your shell while you do it, so that if he decides to Swagger it'll be less effective.

Then open your shell and hit him with another muddy Surf. He won't be able to avoid it this time.

Then use a Water Pulse, to soak him and maybe even score some confusion.

However, if you feel a lot of rage after that Swagger, then I want you to go ahead and let it all go with Frustration. And then continue with Surf as your final move.

Round Twenty Three~ Begin!

Varda look down on the small Neptune, catching the sight of some bruises and dents due to the Sky Uppercut that she delivered earlier. Both Pokemon knew that each of them were now respectively quite low on energy, and they knew it was better to not drain off their energy too much for fear that they might be knocked out from fatigue.

Varda was about to land a Brick Break when Neptune’s shell closed, giving off a strange glow. By her trainer’s command, Varda took her hands up, waiting for his trainer’s command. She then complied with her trainer’s order of using Swagger to try and anger him. Neptune, however, gave none to this, as his little pearly head was inside the shell was protected from the sounds that came from his adversary.

Thinking that she had done her job, Varda sat down, regaining some of her lost energy. But just then, Neptune’s shell popped open, but to her dismay, his face doesn’t beam the angry expression that she had expected to. Instead, it was a wicked smile. Varda gulped, as she watch the muddy water around them collected around Neptune. He was going for the muddy water wave again.

Varda knew she must run, but as his trainer commanded her to relax, there was nothing that she could do but to only watch the wave of water crashing down on her. The rushing force of the water hurt her badly, just like they did before (10% damage).

She recovered from the attack and continued to relax herself. This time, Neptune fired the familiar supersonic water projectile towards her. She was knocked to her back, suddenly feeling the world around her spinning (8% damage).

Round Twenty Four~ Begin!

Both Pokemon watched the dark clouds slowly disappearing from the sky, replaced with the clear, blue sky. Varda was glad that the rain finally ends, but Neptune wasn’t quite happy with this.

Neptune sighed and set himself down, relaxing, as he knew quite well that the confusion would limit Varda’s moment. But to her surprise, Varda closed her eyes, and focused her mind deeply. The action worked well, and she was now ready to go.

Neptune then aimed towards Varda, and fired a blast of water. But he was unprepared for the next move, as Varda spun around in a tornado-like manner, deflecting the Water Gun off. Neptune scowled, as he watched Varda’s speed gradually dies down.

Obliging his trainer’s order, he set himself down once again and relaxed to regain the energy that he needed. But Varda wasn’t going to wait for him. She picked up Neptune with ease and spin him around for a few times, before hurling him towards a nearby tree. Neptune winced from impact of the attack (6% damage), and he painfully picked himself up once again, returning towards the arena to face Varda.

Alrighty then Neptune. Hunker down and take the 'quake with your defense, then I want you to Mimic it. Hit him with a bit of his own medicine, and super effective at that.

Then, form up a moderate Substitute, so that he merely traps the sub and not you.

Then you'll be free to hit him with a Water Pulse while he relaxes.

If you can't make a sub fast enough to avoid being trapped, then go ahead and Relax, and then use another Mimic'd Earthquake to topple the rocks and free yourself, and at the same time do damage to him too.

Varda quickly moved for offense, delivering an Earthquake attack towards Neptune. The little Clamperl withdrew his shell slightly, at the same time realising how the attack was performed. He took the force of the attack, which was slightly weakened due to his Iron Defense that he used earlier (9% damage)

Then, unaware to Varda, Neptune made a second mini-copy of himself. Varda aimed towards the fake Neptune; she stamped her feet on the ground, summoning rocks to bury Neptune. But if only she knew that it was a fake Neptune…

With the thought that she had successfully trap Neptune, Varda sat down and relaxed. No sooner than that, she was greeted with a blast of water from behind (9% damage). She looked around confusedly, and was met with Neptune. She looked at the pile of rock, not fully understanding what had just happened.

It’s a series of attacking and relaxing… To start off, Neptune relaxed, while Varda created 5 copies of himself. Next, it was Varda turn to relax, and Neptune’s turn to attack. He looked at the clones, and after a moment of hesitation, he fired a Water Pulse attack towards one of the clones. The clones dissipated, but the other clones still remained. He had taken a wrong shot, apparently.

To finish it off, Neptune relaxed, while Varda gave him a Sky Uppercut, sending Neptune flying away… (10% damage)

And so that is the end of the round.

Keep going Neptune.

First thing I want you to do is put up a Barrier in front of you (ASB style, a nearly impenetrable wall), so that when the fiery chicken gets close to you he'll just end up smacking a wall and not you. Then, since you'll have spoiled his airborne combo, hit him with a Mimic'd Earthquake to destroy those clones and hit him with some nasty damage at the same time. Make sure he isn't jumping when you make your 'quake, though. And finally, hit him with a Water Gun while he relaxes.

Round Twenty Seven~ Begin!

Both Neptune and Varda(s) stared at each other intently, recalling just how long this match has lasted. Somehow, they both knew that they must finish this as soon as possible.

Uttering a war cry, Varda charged towards the unmoving Neptune, with a combo trick up her sleeve. But to her dismay, her arms met with a transparent barrier that Neptune had formed in front of him.

Nevertheless, she used the momentum of the impact to send her up, and next, she brings her feet, which was now ablaze, down towards Neptune. The attack managed to connect (6% damage), but as soon as she landed on the ground, a crack begins to make its way towards her (and her clones). She let out a cry, as all of her clones were depleted (12% damage).

To end things off, Varda relaxed to regain some lost energy. But the mean Neptune took advantage of the situation by using firing a Water Gun attack towards her (7% damage). Neptune then grinned slyly, before he hide behind the barrier that he had set up earlier.

Round Twenty Eight~ Begin!

Neptune immediately shouts out a barrage of supersonic wave towards Varda, threatening to confuse her. However, Varda simply puts her hands over her ears, blocking out most of the supersonic wave to reach her eardrum.

Neptune then dropped his guard and began to relax behind the barrier. Varda then approached the barrier, her hand formed into a fist. Neptune gave a wary look, as Varda seems to be unharmed by his supersonic waves. But he was glad that the barrier was still up; at least it would protect him.

CRACK! He looked, and saw that the barrier was starting to falter. The next thing that he saw was Varda’s fist, and after that, he was send flying off, until he finally landed on the ground (8% damage).

Next, Varda’s fist glowed white, and she began to focus deeply, collecting a hue amount of energy on her fist. Neptune could only watch in curiosity, as he lay still on the ground, regaining his energy.

When her fist finally glowed with a bright intensity, Varda knew it was time. Heaving slightly with the huge amount of energy, Varda sends her fist towards Neptune, and upon contact, a loud exploding sound rumbled; Neptune then found himself blasting off again from the mighty punch (16% damage).

Finally, when he picked himself up again, he suddenly felt very fatigued, feeling as if he could pass out anytime. Neptune was now truly on his last leg of health…

This is the last stretch, Varda. You've done great so far. Our first move is going to be our most important, so listen carefully.

Brick Break should do the trick.
But Earthquake if he Double Teams. Quake with your eyes closed if he uses Confuse Ray, and Quake with your ears covered if he uses Supersonic.
Relax if he protects.

After that, finish him off with Quick Attack.

Gah, they're trying to restrict our every move Neptune. But, there's one attack that I think can pull off a victory. Its a bit of a risk, but hey, it might just win for us. When Varda comes in for that Brick Break, I want you to Clamp onto that arm. Try your best to grab above the fist, so you don't get slammed by it, that would probably end you. Then, keep holding the Clamp for one more turn, keep crushing Varda's arm. And finally, build up a nice, point-blank Water Pulse. Don't release Varda from the Clamp until you can hit with the pulse. I think you can pull of a victory Neptune, just keep focused.

Round Twenty Nine~ Begin!

Both Pokemon looked at each other for a very long moment, each contemplating on their attacks. They both knew that this might be their last round, one way or another.

Raising her hand, Varda went to deliver a crushing Brick Break. Neptune began to tense, as he patiently waited for Varda to come towards him. Then, at the last minute, just when Varda’s fist was about to hit him, he took a leap and attached himself towards Varda’s arm, high from her fist (7% damage). Varda gave a surprised growl, as her fist then uselessly hit the barren ground, sending rock fragments flying away. Neptune mentally sighed with relief- the attack could easily take him out!

Retracing her fist, Varda then threw a fast punch; a Quick Attack; to try and throw Neptune away from her arm. The attack pretty much didn’t work, as Neptune steadily puts a nice amount of grip on her arm, threatening to render her arm out of order (7% damage).

Varda continues to shake her arm, until Neptune let go- but only at his own will. Throwing her good arm in front of her, Varda went for another Quick Attack. But before her fist could even touch Neptune, she was met with a blast of water…

But she continued forward and landed a hit on Neptune…

There was an awkward silence…

And then she fell to the ground, her last health taken away by Neptune’s Water Pulse attack (8% damage).

Neptune sighed with relief- as he barely survived the Quick Attack (4% damage).

As for darktyranitar... extra thanks to you for sticking with this battle through 29 long rounds, and generally being very active in your reffings. Come Christmas, expect a nice gift from me, 4 points isn't nearly enough reward for such a long battle. But hopefully it was a decently fun battle to ref (aside from all the relaxing).
