Both Pokémon were panting from exhaustion, but the battle wasn’t over yet. Fire Dude scratched at the muddy ground, but her paralyzed muscles were making this task harder than usual. The speedy Pichu fired off a Thunder attack that focused more on speed than power. The Electric attack triggered Fire Dude’s paralysis and so she sat in a shallow ditch, unable to move.

During her next turn, she was commanded to do nothing, and so she waited. Meanwhile, Thorne raced over and gave her a quick smooch on the beak, which thoroughly disoriented the fire type.

Fire Dude swayed around in confusion, not knowing what to do. Her mind was filled with images of Pichus and kissing that she did not remember what was her last command. This gave time for Thorne to attack some more. He put on a burst on speed and smacked into the Torchic’s chest. This impact managed to clear away Fire Dude’s confusion, and now she was thoroughly frustrated.
