    Right-o... here we go.

    Arena: Death Gaia
The Pokemon fight on a large battleship in the middle of the ocean – the Death Gaia. Specifically, they fight on the deck, a wide platform that is the only part of the ship above water. The platform is large enough to accommodate any Pokemon. It is also very dirty, so sand and mud attacks can be used with ease. Ground-shaking attacks (Earthquake, Magnitude) will affect the platform and thus work. Attacks requiring rocks will work, although there might be a bit of a delay – the ocean floor is littered with rocks and boulders. Since it’s in the ocean, there is ample space for any water-faring Pokemon as well. Every few rounds, at the ref’s discretion, a laser will fire from the platform’s lone turret at nothing in particular. If a Pokemon gets hit by the laser, they are dealt non-elemental damage similar in magnitude to a Shadow Ball.

    Pokemon: 3 v 3

Rules: Perma-Safeguard (a Pokemon cannot be inflicted with status conditions. This includes confusion and attraction.), no direct recovery, no Perish Song

I send out first, you attack first.

I'll begin with my male Snorlax, Number Six.

Expected as much... Go for it, Kataklysm (M) Loudred.

Try to startle him with a Roar. Then try Extrasensory to scramble his thoughts. Finish with Earthquake.

Okay, Number Six, start with Surf - hopefully the roar of the water will drown him out. Heh. I'm so punny. Next, counter Extrasensory with a Psychic of your own. Finally, Earthquake him right back.

I'm a bit intimidated, with this being a Gym match and all, but I'll take reffing on this battle.

I'll have it up tommorow, I just hurt my wrist so it slows down my typing and I also have a crapload of stuff to do today... stupid life! Don't get one, its a trap :p

Thanks, man. And don't worry about it being a gym battle. Just ref like you normally would... except there's no damage cap.

    Take your time.

    *Battle*
The challenger, Ace, and the ref arrive at the Death Gaia, a huge battleship in the middle of some ocean. Standing at the front of the ship is TheBlueAvenger, sporting a pirate getup (a pirate with a battleship? ). He motions for the helicopter transporting the pair to land, and as it does Ace eagerly jumps out. He wastes no time challenging the gym leader to a battle. TBA simply nods and reaches for his belt, pulling off a ball. Shouting "Its time, Number Six", TheBlueAvenger throws a pokeball, which opens to reveal an impressive Snorlax, who scratches himself lazily. Ace drops his own pokeball to the ground, in a flash revealing a purple pokemon sporting speakers for ears. The pokemon shouts loudly, seemingly just as eager as his trainer. The Loudred looks his large foe over as the 2 trainers quickly issue a set of 3 commands. Round 1 is underway!

Kataklysm quickly prepares for his first attack, stomping his feet on the ground and pointing his speaker-ears toward the huge Snorlax. The rather well-trained sleeping pokemon sits up, holding his hands out to the side as he starts to summon up a wave of the surrounding water. But a simple outburst of sound proves to be much quicker to excecute than trying to form a large wave, as Loudred blasts out a loud, frightening roar. His ears pulsate from the very force of the sound, as it echoes across the arena. Six is both suprised and scared, such a loud sound out of such a small pokemon... He loses the concentration from his attack, and runs... or kind of runs, as fast such a huge pokemon can, to the far side of the arena. The boat tips slightly from the weight, but the ship's stabilizers balance it out soon. Ah, the wonders of gym-leader technology.

The pokemon now stand quite far away from each other, and Kataklysm is going to take advantage of it. His beady eyes glimmer with a purple hue, as he seeks out his opponents mind with a psionic power. Just when the big voice pokemon is about to launch his assault, he runs into some sort of psychic barrier around Six's mind. The two psionic forces collide for a few moments, slamming into one another as the pokemon concentrate carefully, essentially creating a psychic link between the 2 pokemon. Finally, the superior strength of Snorlax's attack breaks through, and Kataklysm collapses, holding his head and groaning in agony.

Despite a bit of a headache, Loudred remains eager. He stands up and starts stamping his feet against the ground again, looking a bit like a spoiled child that hasn't gotten his way. Finally, he stops stamping, and points his ears and mouth downward. He lets off a powerful sonic wave toward the ground, and as the blast hits the deck of the ship it has much the same effect as a powerful physical slam. A ground-bound shockwave is created by the force, and starts to barrel across the deck toward Number Six, lifting boards as it moves. But at just about the same time, the huge pokemon stands and, with a lazy groan slams his large foot down. This creates his own earthen shockwave. The 2 waves collide, the opposite forces each counteracting one another and leaving very little energy left. The remaining energy dissipates rather quickly, leaving both pokemon standing unharmed, though there's a decent sized crack in the deck from where the 2 forces collided (TBA's not going to be happy...)

Finished fighting for the time being, Number Six drops to the ground, lazy as always. Kataklysm looks toward Ace, who looks to be carefully thinking up his next set of attacks. He's still got a bit of a headache, but he's doing his best to ignore it.

Okay, Number 6, we're doing fine. I want you to Charm Kataklysm to start. Then freeze him over with Ice Beam and finish with a Psywave. However, should he stray too close to you, slam him away with Brick Break, and if he tries another Extrasensory, use Psychic.

Nice work Kata, now we can really get started.

Ol' Six may be charming, but how can you tell when he's so far away? What a problem. Show him how your sound waves travel with a Hyper Voice. Next, brighten up the place with Sunny Day- that oughta give the ice some trouble crossing the distance. Finish with a powered-up Solarbeam.

    *Battle*
In the middle of the sea, the 2 combatants look on. As Round 2 begins, they quickly issue a set of commands to their respective pokemon, who quietly nod.

Kataklysm, eager to do some damage to his foe, arranges his speaker ears toward the large Snorlax. He opens his mouth wide, eyes bulging as he lets out a power-packed cry. The sheer power of the attack makes the soundwaves visible, in the form of glowing orange rings pulsating rapidly towards 6. The hyper rings hit the sleepy pokemon, causing a booming in his ears and his entire body to ache from the energy. He groans in pain, before standing up. Loudred braces for a counterattack, but much to his suprise Number 6 simply grins widly, holding his hands in near his face in a cute manor. At the same time, he releases a psychic pulse, amplifying his cute attributes to the mind of Kataklysm. Though the distance effects the move some, the Snorlax is so large that its still fairly visible.

Seeing this strange display of cuteness, Kataklysm hesitates. This gives Number 6 the chance he needs, and he quickly opens his mouth, beginning to build up icy energy within it. Moments later, a cold blue beam fires out of the Snorlax's maw, chilling the air as it cuts toward Loudred. Still not sure about what just happened, the big voice pokemon fails to respond in time, and gets slammed by the freezing blast. He stumbles back a few steps as the ice energy pummels him, before it dissipates. Kataklysm is shivering now, his entire body chilled by the previous attack, but it also knocked him out of his apparent trance. He calms himself, eyes closed as he concentrates carefully. A red aura surrounds his body as he manipulates the clouds away from the sun, and even manages to amplify the sunlight. Instantly feeling the warm sun rays warming him, Loudred smiles.

And the mutated rabbit intends to use the newly intensified sunlight to good effect. He opens his gaping mouth, drawing solar energy in to form an orb of pure light between his jaws. With a raccuous shout, he lets loose a large, powerful beam of light. It swiftly flies through the air, and slams against Number 6's large belly. The solar energy pelts the huge blue pokemon, causing his blubber to jiggle violently and him to let out a pained cry. Gradually the beam decreases in size, until it disappears into nothing. Snorlax lets off a groan of relief, while Kataklysm pants a bit. Number 6 continues to lie on the ground, seemingly making no effort to attack. However, his eyes glow for a moment, and suddenly a series of psionic ripples pulse out of his mind though the arena. Looking a bit like extreme heat distortion, the air fluctuates with psychic waves. As the attack passes across the entire arena, Loudred holds his head and winces, feeling as though his mind will explode. The ripples eventually pass off into the distance, and Kataklysm looks at his foe, suprised.

As the round closes, both pokemon look to be determined to win. Kataklysm's headache has been worsened by the psychic attack, but he's doing his best to ignore the annoyance. The two trainers carefully consider the situation as they think of their next actions.

No worries Elec Man. I love reading your reffing, and I'm in no hurry.

Good job, Kata, we're doing well. Fire off another Solarbeam- regardless of whether or not he changes the weather, it shouldn't affect the speed of the attack. Follow up with another Earthquake. Finish with Hyper Voice. If Snorlax gets physical with fighting moves, Counter them accordingly.

    *Battle*
As the battle enters the third round, both trainers stand calm aboard the large ship, basking in the glow of the sun. They instruct their pokemon for the next attacks, while the 2 normal types listen intently.

Hoping for an advantage, Kataklysm once more opens his huge jaws, beginning to gather the sunlight within. As the energy quickly builds, Snorlax pulls himself to his feet, also opening his mouth and drawing in the solar power. The 2 look to be in a contest to see who can build up a greater amount, before Kataklysm releases the build in an impressive white beam. Number 6 cries out as he too fires off a large beam of light. The 2 attacks collide, each side gaining a small advantage over the other and then losing it again, and all the while causing an almost blinding pulse of sunlight in the center. Eventually, the beams shrink in size until the energy is exausted, leaving neither pokemon with anything to show for the attack but a flashy light display.

Ace's normal type doesn't seem at all pleased with this, and he starts furiously stamping his legs as he builds energy. This continues for a few moments, before he lets out a sonic blast toward the ground while in midair himself. The deck bends under the impact, which then radiates out from the Loudred in a conical shape, toward the waiting Number 6. He stands, looking completely docile, and then uses his weight to execute a powerful stomp, once again matching his opponent's attack. The forces power toward one another, meeting closer to Number 6 than the last quakes, and with similar resaults. With the sound of splintering wood and creaking steel, a hull of the Death Gaia is ripped asunder.

With another gaping hole now sitting between the duo, it seems increasingly likely that the projectile battle will continue, though luckily the huge battleship is otherwise uneffected. Using his natural abilities to good effect, Kataklysm bellows deeply while his loudspeaker ears pulse, sending another powerful hypersonic blast flying at TBA's Snorlax. The golden, jagged rings fly across Number Six's body, causing him to hold his bulky hands over his head to no great effect. The waves are so powerful that the vibrations hurt the huge pokemon's entire body, and though not audible he shrieks in agony. With the waves now passed and continuing on into the distance, Six can now focus on his own attack. His mouth opens as he builds up a swirling sphere of intense flames within, and then with a grunt sends the attack hurtling toward Kataklysm. The scorching blast explodes in midair, now taking the shape of a star as it closes in on the target. Loudred braces himself as he feels the terrible heat engulfing him, but despite that the big voice pokemon is bowled over by the attack and falls to the ground. The remaining bits of flame fly into the ocean, hissing as they're extinguished.

Looking rather charred by the attack, Kataklysm slowly lifts himself up with his hands. He winces, skin blackened and midly burnt. Attacks finished, Number Six lies back on the ground. The trainers overlook the arena, looking much like a battlefield by now... and are startled as a crimson laser shot explodes on deck. Neither pokemon gets nailed by the blast, though the ground is scorched by it, and it reminds the trainers that they need to be wary in the coming rounds.

Just a question, Elec: is that burn doing damage? Because there's a permanent Safeguard in effect.

Okay Kata, begin with Double Team.If the sun's still shining, follow with Overheat. If not,get in close combat with Six and strike with Dynamicpunch- that big belly's one great target. If you still have your clones, one more Dynamicpunch. If not, use Blizzard- try to freeze his legs to the ground.

What? There is no burn... really, your imagining things... eheh

Heh, sorry. My bad on that one... gave back the 2% health loss and removed the burn effect.

*goes back to re-read TBA's post and make sure he doesn't miss anything else* Silly Elec... none of that messing up, especially in front of the mod / gym leader.

BTW, I'm not sure if Confusion is included in a Safeguard or not. I'm going to go by the game, and assume that confusion would be blocked, if it had come into effect, but for future reference could you clarify that?

    *Battle*
Both trainers stand tall on the huge battleship, neither giving in. Sweat drips down their faces, the area quite hot from the intense sunlight, with nary a cloud to shade them. They shout their attacks over the sounds of the sea, and the pokemon reply with affirmative cries.

Calming down for a moment, Kataklysm focuses. Holding his hands out to the sides of his body, he humms. Right on cue, his body seemingly splits into 3 identical Loudred, each one lowering its hands down and grinning. Faced with a bit of an army, one would think Six would be intimidated, but he simply stands up slowly. The bulky pokemon inhales deeply, while bringing a raging flame from deep within his body to the inner area of his mouth. With a cry he blows out a savage, concentrated stream of hot flames toward the trio of purple pokemon. They brace themselves, holding their hands up as if to block the flames. As the burning attack comes into to contact with the left-most Kataklysm, the flames simply pass through the body as the illusion is broken, disappearing as suddenly as it appeared, and leaving the stream of flames to slam into the deck of the ship, scorching a nice patch of black into the hull.

The remaining Loudreds chuckle, then look up at the sun and suddenly become dead serious. They both stomp the ground furiously, maws gaping open. Inside the mouth of each, a huge mass of white-hot fire starts to build up. Their eyes flare, as they release huge, roaring streams of flame, pouring huge amounts of energy into it. The powerful blasts fly through the air with impressive speed, and soon slam into the large target that is Snorlax. He digs his feet into the ground, yet still is pushed back by the power of the heat as it engulfs him. The huge pokemon winces and cries out, though its unheard over the roar of the flames scorching him. Brightly colored flames continue to flow from Kataklysm for a few seconds, then die down as he exausts his fire energy. He gasps, recovering from the attack, while Number Six shakes his head. His body aches, but despite that he opens his mouth, drawing in energy from the streaming sunlight beating down on the arena. Sped up by the light, Six soon lets loose a powerful white beam toward the Kataklysm's. The beam hits the center target, piercing it through easily as it distintigrates. This time, the ill-aimed attack flies into the ocean, cutting through it until the energy is absorbed by the water and causing an impressive spray of water, which splatters over the deck, and Kataklysm as well. Breathing still labored slightly, Loudred breaths a sigh of relief.

But now he's vulnerable again, all defenses knocked out by Six's attacks. Despite his recovery, he knows he has to keep the heat on to win, so to speak. Even though conditions aren't ideal for it, he opts to try an attack from the opposite side of the spectrum, taking a deep breath and drawing up a freezing cold energy within his jaws. While the sound pokemon is drawing up for the icy attack, Snorlax starts to spark, building up an electrical charge. As the sparks dance across his body, Loudred blows out a powerful, freezing blast toward the opponent. The ice sweeps across the surface of the ship, chilling the arena, but at the same time some of the snow and ice melts from the extreme heat of the sun. Still, as the assortment of cold wind, ice crystals, and white snow plow into Number Six's lower half he shivers, and feels a slight icy coating forming over his legs. Even as the assault continues, Snorlax fires off a piercing bolt of lightning at the source of the cold. The high-voltage attack cuts through the ice, soon reaching its target and flowing through Kataklysm painfully. He grunts and twitches as the current flows, but luckily its soon disrupted as the source is drained.

The frozen coating on Number Six's legs is already starting to melt into a puddle at his feet, though the sunlight itself has returned to normal, and a few clouds are even starting to creep across the sky. Residual heat and all. Both pokemon are really starting to feel the effects of battle, in both pain and fatigue, and their trainers consider this as they think about the next round.

We got really lucky, Kata. Fire a Shockwave at Six, that puddle ought to conduct it nicely. Follow up with our signature move, Hyper Voice. Finish with Screech to rattle him. If Six should come in close, strike with Dynamicpunch.

Number Six, fire your own Shockwave to counter. Next, as Kataklysm opens his mouth to yell at you, fire an Ice Beam in there to make him think twice about it. Finally, use Amnesia to forget the Screech's effects and keep on going.

Hopefully the caning doesn't affect the appeal itself... although watching someone fly out of the judge table and club that massive bulk might be funny.

    *Battle*
The pokemon are starting to really wear down, and the trainers are fiercly trying to push the battle into their favor. TBA quietly and confidently whipsers his commands to Six, while Ace shouts them much more loudly to his pokemon, feeling the excitement of a gym battle and his mild lead. The 2 normal types nod, and turn to face each other fearlessly.

Intent on taking advantage of the puddle around the sleepy pokemon's feet, Kataklysm's body starts emitting a light shower of sparks. Within moments, an array of small electrical bolts are rapidly flying toward the large pokemon. But Six isn't just going to take a hit lying down, and almost simultaneously he too starts to spark. A similar assortment of electrical bolts fly out from the Snorlax, to meet Kataklysm's attack. The two meet, the high accuracy allowing Number Six to pinpoint and counter each and every spark with his own. As each pair connects, a zap is heard while the currents combine and cancel, like electrical fireworks. The combatants are impressed with the display, though Ace frowns when he realizes his attack has been nullified.

But the onslaught continues, as Loudred adjusts his loudspeaker ears while at the same time slamming his feet against the ground, his way of building energy. He soon lets out a battle cry, literally, sending a familiar blast of orange halos of sound at Snorlax while his voice bellows with power. When Six see's his foe charging energy, he opens his mouth and chanelling his energy into an icy blast. But the huge pokemon's speed, or lack thereof, proves his downfall. Unable to fire the frigid attack in time, he has no choice but to stand and take the powerful soundwaves. Every inch of his body vibrates as the cry blasts across him, causing him much pain. Wincing, but still holding the icy charge, Number Six holds out until the attack passes by him and into the open ocean, where it'll be absorbed by the water. Counterattacking in anger, Snorlax lets loose the freezing beam, which chills the air as it speeds toward the big voice pokemon. Kataklysm covers his face with his hands, shivering as the sapphire laser blasts across him. As the energy in the beam exausts itself, Loudred lowers his hands and rubs them together, trying to warm them up.

Distracted by the cold, Ace shouts out to his pokemon to pay attention to the battle, snapping the big voice pokemon back to the task at hand. Kataklysm takes in a deep breath, before letting off a high pitched shriek. The horrible noise resonates across the arena, causing all present to cover their ears (sans Ace, who had stuck some earplugs in prior). Number Six has his bulky hands to his ears, the blubber not doing much of anything to stop such a high pitched and annoying squall. Kataklysm seems to go on forever, but eventually he runs out of air and the cry ceases. And when he does, Snorlax acts quickly. His beady eyes glow, as he works his telekinetic power to induce amnesia, struggling to maintain the psionic attack after Loudred's cry. But he's not performing it on his foe... no, this clever pokemon uses the attack on himself. Plunging a psychic blow deep into his mind, he suddenly remembers nothing that happened in the last few minutes. His ears are still ringing a bit, though he doesn't recall why.

Number Six starts to look around, remembering the ship and his foe, but not his annoyance by said foe. Kataklysm scratches his head, wondering why his monstrous opponent is suddenly completely calm, and looks toward his trainer for his next commands. Snorlax, meanwhile, lies down on the ground, back to his lazy self.

Energys fallin' fast with all these powerful attacks, hmm.

Since you set the terms for this battle TBA, do you want to use normal energy conditions (pokemon hits 0% energy and its KO'd), or my method (taken from Ace, who took it from me... lol) detailed below?

When a pokemon hits 0% energy, its attacks lose power and speed for a round (full 3 turns) but take no energy, and then it will regain 30% energy and the battle will continue as normal. If a pokemon hits 0% again after that, then its considered a KO.

Kata, Taunt our Snorlax friend- no time to get your breath back, right? We expect better! Next, we'll try Extrasensory- let's see how we do. Finally, Endure- we won't gain any energy back, but let's try to keep in good shape. If that psychic attack keeps him from hitting you, though- Relax.

As the 2 trainers watch their pokemon wearing out under the stress of battle, they try and think of something to both preserve their pokemon, and defeat the other. They issue a set of commands for Round 6, knowing a gym badge is on the line.

Kataklysm looks on at his huge adversary, watching him looking even lazier than usual. He's trying to rest himself... well, they'll be none of THAT, now. He starts shouting insults as loudly as he can, even going so far as saying that Number Six's mother was a... well, not a very nice term, I can assure you. Enraged, Six gets up, glaring down at his foe. He's supposed to relax while this thing is hurling insults at him? Never. But even through his rage, he knows he can't get close to that Loudred without taking much too long getting around the cracks... so instead, he opts for a projectile. He holds one hand out, gathering a white energy on it before letting it fly toward Kataklysm. But the beam of energy falls short and hits the ground near the sound pokemon, oh no! Kataklysm laughs at the ill-aimed attack... right before the one of the planks in front of him suddenly bends up and smashes him in the face. He falls back, utterly suprised.

While his foe lies there suprised, Six is still not content with it. He wants to inflict more pain... the waves start getting rougher in the area behind Loudred, as Snorlax's eyes glimmer with a deep blue tint. Without much more warning than the increased wave activity, a large tidal wave builds from the sea, rushing toward Kataklysm with a roar. The powerful water attack crashes over the ship, bowling over the still recovering big voice pokemon with impressive force and continuing on. The sea soon recedes, draining off the deck, but leaving the 2 cracks filled with water. Kataklysm slowly gets to his feet, growling, water dripping from his ears and other appendages. Back to his senses and reminded of the battle, he focuses his mind on attack, eyes glowing brightly with a purple hue. Locating the mind of his foe, a psionic force starts to assault it. Six winces, feeling the pain in his head like a thousand needles being shoved into his brain. The psychic stabs finally die down, but still the Snorlax feels a deep rage, almost ignoring the attack he was just hit with.

Seeing the expression of anger on the face of the Snorlax, Kataklysm waits for his foe to make a move. He knows he has to try and minimize damage from this next attack. And he doesn't have to wait long. A pissed Number Six starts channeling electricity through his body, transforming his normal power into a current through unknown means. As sparks dance across his body, he holds his arms out toward Kataklysm, like 2 lightning rods. The electricity crawls down his arms, and then flies off at Loudred, charging the air as it cuts through it. Kataklysm quickly braces himself for the attack, hunkering down. The lightning hits dead on, quickly surrounding the purple pokemon with a field of current, coursing into his body. His prepared stance minimizes the damage done, but its still a very powerful attack, and he cries out in pain. Finally, the flow of electrons is halted when Snorlax exausts the energy used for the attack, and Kataklysm stands up, his body aching.

Breathing heavily, Six seems visibly exausted by his rigorous attacks, but despite that his anger continues to cloud his mind. Loudred isn't in the greatest shape either, but he takes comfort in seeing his foe nearing complete exaustion.

If your wondering, the attack Snorlax did was Secret Power, and was chosen randomly from all of Snorlax' projectiles. And Taunt's duration is randomly chosen between 3-5 turns.

Nice work, Kata. I think I can guess what to expect here, though. Six has to attack, so let's get ready to take it. Just Endure as best as you can what comes next. If Six shows signs of shying away from you, Taunt to lure him into attacking again.

Both pokemon are nearing exaustion, and it seems that the trainers are coming up with their last hurrahs for the first matchup. Knowing the pokemon he's up against, Ace issues an order of self preservation, and as expected the defending gym leader orders his pokemon to end this. Loudred nods, and though the angry Snorlax gives no affirmation, he is well aware of his command as well.

No longer trying to keep himself conscious, Number Six raises his head up, and lets out a loud, bellowing cry. While he shouts, the look on his face is one of rage and agony, and he looks almost constipated. A faint glow starts eminating from his entire bulk, steadily growing in brightness. Kataklysm senses whats coming, and he again hunkers down, crossing his arms in front of his chest. The glow from Six keeps growing, until suddenly all of his energy is released in a single tremendous blast. An explosive semi-sphere centered around the Snorlax radiates out in all directions, accompanied by an incredible sound blast. The blast quickly spreads over the entire ship, soon reaching Loudred, still in a protective stance. With the area engulfed in the blast, no one can see exactly whats happening, nor can they hear anything over the explosion. The energy soon reaches it's limit, the explosion ceasing to increase in size, and starting to dissipate. The first thing that comes into view is Number Six, lying on his stomach, completely immobile. The entire deck also appears blackened... and soon, Kataklysm comes back into view. He's still hunkered down, eyes closed with a painful expression on his face. As he realizes the attack has past, he lets out a grunt of pain as he uncrosses his arms and slowly stands up straight. Like the ship, his body is almost completely grey, and every bit of his body aches, but he managed to keep himself concious despite all that.

With Kataklysm still standing, albeit barely, its up to TheBlueAvenger to bring out his next pokemon. Ace nods at Kataklysm, knowing it was a struggle to keep himself from dropping into incapacitation.

Ridley! Keep your distance and use Ember until Kataklysm's gone. However, if a water attack comes your way, take flight to avoid it and keep attacking from the air.

Nice work Kata. I was thinking of a few creative strategies, but given our health....there's not much to do. Wait until you see those Embers flying towards you, then release a Hyper Voice to attack and try and push those flames away from you with sound. If it works, repeat until you're out of energy. If not, you've done well anyhow.

Standing on either side of the blackened ship, the trainers look at the battered pokemon. TBA pulls out Number Six's pokeball, holding it at the large pokemon as a red beam hits the Snorlax. His body is energized, and pulled back into the ball for a rest. TBA grins as he reaches for his next pokeball, this one a differently colored ball. He tosses it, and a large flash disappears to reveal a huge black Charizard. The giant lizard lets out a roar, blowing up a puff of flame to the air. Kataklysm looks wearily at the fresh pokemon, wondering just what his trainer has in mind. Ace issues his orders, as does TBA, and Ridley glares down at the battered foe.

Standing tall, Ridley wastes no time in getting ready to finish this Loudred off. He inhales briefly, and then blows out a quick, wide spread of red-hot flame bits. The multitude of tiny flames speed through the air toward a charred Kataklysm, who struggles to move at all. He opens his mouth, preparing to attack, but to no avail. The pain of merely moving is slowing him down, and before he can even start his attack, the tiny flames pepper against his body. He feels the pain increasing, and starts to feel that he can't go on. Kataklysm struggles for a while, trying to keep in the battle, but his body can't withstand the pressure. The big voice pokemon closes his eyes as he collapses to the ground with a thud.

Ace nods, proud that his pokemon managed to topple the giant Snorlax before he went himself. Looking at TBA's ash black Charizard, he considers his next combatant. The fire type lets out another roar, absolutely confident in his abilities.

Hmmm...after a long bit of consideration...I'm going with Pianissimo, my (M) Kadabra.
Hopefully, my using one of the 'drew crew' won't tempt you into bringing out Erdendrache...

Pianissimo, Shockwave, Psychic(mess with his lungs, not beam form) and Shadow Ball.

Okay, Ridley, quickly summon some rocks with Ancientpower. Aim them so that they'll absorb the brunt of the Shockwave, then hurl them at the Kadabra. Next, use Roar to disrupt Pianissimo's concentration and shake him up. Finally, blast Pianissimo with a Heat Wave to overpower that Shadow Ball.

    *Battle*
Ace nods solemly, pulling out Kataklysm's pokeball and letting the crimson beam return the charred pokemon back to the safety of his pokeball for a good rest. After a moment of careful consideration, he lets fly a new pokeball, and a flash reveals a silent Kadabra, aptly named Pianissimo. The pokemon opens his eyes and looks toward Ace, clearly ready to go. The challenger shouts his orders to the new pokemon, while leader TBA orders his black Charizard quickly.

Starting off with haste, Pianissimo holds up his silver spoon. The powerful utensil starts to spark with electrical current briefly, before it fires off a series of sparks toward the opposing flame pokemon. The electricity flies through the air quickly, and Charizard lets out a roar as he taps into a mystical power. Body glowing an earthly tone, the fire lizard summons up rocks off the sea floor, but too little too late. He is peppered by array of sparks, each causing a painful tingling upon contact. Ridley cringes, discomforted but continuing the summoning. Eventually, a bunch of moderately sized rocks splash out of the water, encircling his body. With a second cry, Ridley sends the rocks flying toward Pianissimo using the strange power. The boulders pelt Kadabra, and despite the psi pokemon holding his hands out to block he still winces and groans under the assault. After pelting the psychic type, the rocks fall to the deck around him, no longer controlled by Charizard.

Already a bit bruised, Kadabra seems ready to really put the pain on his foe. His eyes start to glow brightly, as does his spoon which amplifies his psychic abilities. His psionic attack is quickly targetting Ridley, specifically his lungs. The dragon feels a sort of fist-like force squeezing him from the inside, and the intimidating pokemon suddenly appears quite scared himself. Frantically, he tries to let out a frightening cry, but with his lungs under attack he's unable to muster much more than a pathetic growl. Ridley struggles for a while, unable to breath and getting even more freaked out, but soon enough Pianissimo has mustered all he can out of the assault and releases his psychic grip, knowing that even his superior mind has to rest. Charizard takes deep, gasping breaths, while looking spitefully at the ruthless psychic.

Keeping up the assault, Pianissimo levitates his spoon into the air to free up his hand, which he holds out along with the other as he starts to tap into the ethereal realm with his mind. He psychically starts to draw ghostly energy into this realm, pooling it into a lump between his palms. While the glowing gold orb grows steadily in size, Ridley catches his breath and readies his own attack. Taking in one last deep breath, he mixes the air with the fiery energy within his body, heating it. Kadabra nods, satisfied with the attack as he hurls it toward the black fire type with one hand and grabbing hold of his spoon again with the other. Hoping to disrupt the attack, Charizard blows out a stream of superheated air, even containing some small bits of fire. Both attacks collide, but other than the spirit attack slowing down slightly, they don't effect one another much. The heated attack simply moves around the energy mass and continues on to the target. Both pokemon are hit nearly simultaneously, Ridley taking the hit slightly earlier. The huge lizard is pushed back as the ethereal bomb explodes, pummeling his body with null energy and causing him intense pain. While he lets out a roar of agony, Pianissimo grunts as the faint red heated blast of air blows by him, burning his body and pelting him with the small fire bits in the process.

Both pokemon appear pained, but they glare at one another, each unwilling to succumb to the pain. It seems the round is drawing to a close, but as the stare on a laser shot is heard. They look up just in time to see a ball of energy heading straight at Kadabra. He covers his face as the shot hits dead on, causing an explosion and throwing Pianissimo to the ground. As he gets up, the psi pokemon looks around for the source of the blow, while Ace frowns at his bad luck. Still, the trainers think about the next round, as this one truly draw to an end.

I thought Ancientpower rocks originated from the Pokemon itself?

Ah well. Ridley, keep up the tempo by using those rocks for a devastating Rock Slide. Next, entrap him with Fire Spin. Finally, blast him with a Dragon Rage. If Kadabra tries any of that Psychic business again, wreck his focus with a terrifying Scary Face; if you see a Shadow Ball coming your way, take flight to avoid it.

[color=#FFDD11]I don't see how a pokemon can make rocks from its body... unless its a pokemon made of rocks itself, and even then, using pieces of your body to attack can't be that great an idea.

The only rock attack that I know of that doesn't need rocks (or other rock-like objects) from an external source is Rock Blast, which seems to be shooting rocks out of the pokemon's mouth.

Fair enough. I ask only because Chris told me that in a match with him... but this way makes more sense anyway.

it varies. I would ref and assume ancient power does not require it; games (stadium being quite helpful) seems to suggest the rocks are drawn from under ground, an ancient power. My view on it is that they are summoned from beneath the earths crust, able to phase through the ground and attack the foe.

    Just explaining, s'all.
