*Battle*
With the arena fast turning into a black swamp under the falling rain, both trainers quietly consider their next moves. Having thought briefly, each orders their pokemon for the upcoming Round 14.
Lingering memories of the painful electric shock of the last round, Finus raises his head to the sky. This rain has to go, he thinks to himself as he concentrates. With a bright orange aura radiating across his body, the skies begin to clear as though being shoved aside by the sun god. As the clouds move away, the rain subsides and the bright sunlight is fully exposed, bathing the arena in a warm glow. Scyther smiles with satisfaction, letting the heat wash over him. Freya is much less happy with the change, the beating sun aggrivating her burns and causing her a deal of distress. Still, her body starts to glow with electricity as she builds up a current. Pumping out so much power at one time will be a difficult feat, but with confidence she prepares, steadily increasing the voltage.
But Finus isn't just going to wait for his opponent to fry him. Opening his jaw, a pale yellow glow shimmers inside. Then with a shout, the mantis sends out a flurry of star shaped energy rays. They cut swiftly through the air, heading straight for an electrified Freya. She winces as the multitudes of stars pelt her, causing minor cuts across her body. Miniature bloody wounds appear across her injured form, and the immense pain tells her that she won't be able to keep up for much longer. With an increasing volume of sparks dancing across her, but not enough for the desired combo, she faces a decision. Fire prematurely, or face the chance of falling before she can fire at all. The palindrome pokemon airs on the side of caution, raising her head and letting what electricity she has built fly into the air. Twin bolts of immense power circle one another as they rise, and then curve downward toward Scyther. He steps back and looks on with horror as the mass of voltage speeds toward him. Thinking quickly, he uses his agility to leap to the side as the bolt comes down. It slams into the ground as Finus breathes a sigh of relief, but unfortunately for him the earth is still wet... enough so that it conducts a good portion of the powerful energy. He shrieks as the electricity flows across the ground and through him as he lands. His body becomes engulfed by the flow of electrons, sparks rushing across his exoskeleton. Twitching under the attack, he feels a mild sensation of paralysis through his muscles. When the current finally runs dry, the psychic lets the pain take over and she wimpers, while a few stray bolts jump across Finus' body and he groans loudly.
Pushing the agony of the attack to the back of his mind, the bug slits his eyes toward Freya with rage. His mouth opens again as he lets fly a second splash of energy shurikens. She barely sees the attack coming, cringing in the pain she's already under. The giraffe cries loudly, feeling the swarm of rays dash across every part of her skin. The mounting pain from the flying stars pushes Girafarig over the edge, and she drops into unconciousness, falling immobile to the mud with a slosh. Finus sighs deeply, content with having finally defeated the formidable psychic.
Crystal Tears pulls out her pokeball and recalls Freya, smiling at the good job the pokemon did. While she thinks about her next choice, Finus looks to be in a deal of pain brought on by the giraffe's last assault. He stands, ready for whatever comes next, masking the pain.

I never liked the idea of combo's consisting purely of very powerful energy attacks. Always seemed like a cheap attempt to cram as much damage as possible before getting KO'd. Plus, you figure it'd be hard to prepare that sheer amount of energy. So instead of the normal combo mechanic, where the combo fires immedietly, instead a large combo like this requires time to "charge".
