Aww, that's really cute. I've been wanting to get Mystery Dungeon for awhile. ^^ It looks so awesome.
I like how the Jolteon is drawn BTW.

Well, I was checking my email as I got ready to do some schoolwork and I saw this funky "You're a winner of..." thing in my inbox preview. Now, I thought it might be something that got through the spam filter and went to look at it...
And found out that I actually WON a contest that I actually entered!
Specifically, Nintendo and some photo-sharing website called smugmug held this contest back in October/November where you were supposed to draw a picture representing what you thought life would be like as a Pokémon... Mystery Dungeon style. So I figured, what the heck? I'll enter. I doodled this weird picture and tried to make it look all awesome when I traced it into Photoshop... that didn't turn out so hot. I mean, it wasn't bad (if I may toot my own horn), but I generally suck at computer coloring and, well, it sorta shows. All the same, though, I liked it and entered it anyway.
So the rules said they'd be judging around November 10th and notify the eleven winners around Nov 20. I saw several pictures that I considered better than mine, so it's not like I had my hopes up anyway, and when I didn't get any notification past the end of November I figured that was it, oh, well, I'm entering a Yu-Gi-Oh! art contest that I stand a better chance of winning anyway. But then, as I said above, I checked my email today... and I WON, bizzlenatches! I just need to reply to their email and then they're gonna ship me a DS Lite! (And a copy of Mystery Dungeon, and the official guide book... thing is, I went out and bought Dungeon Blue and the same guide book a week or so later because I didn't think I had a chance of winning. So unless the game they're sending is Dungeon Red, and I doubt that because they're sending a DS and the DS version is the one they wouldn't shut up about, I'm going to be getting two useless things... ah, well, I can sell them or give 'em away. Really, I don't need the DS Lite either, as I already have a perfectly good DS, but I might give my brother my old DS and let him get rid of his broken-hinged, can't-do-jack-squat-with-wireless one. Or I might keep them both, heh.)
El link above is my entry... like I said, the art's not perfect, but I like it and the "umbrella in the rain" sentiment is sweet. Maybe that's what won the judges over, I don't know. *dances* I won, I won, huzzah! Free stuff!
...And for those of you who'd like to know whether or not I stand a chance in this YGO thing, clicketh here: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/42354800/
Now THAT'S one of my good pictures. Probably looks so much better because a) I can draw dragons better than I can draw anything else, and b) because I hand-colored it with my trusty Prismas and not farty ol' Photoshop. Hopefully, this one will end up as the actual name/artwork on a real card next year... perhaps *pokes Blademaster* even a card worthy of inclusion in a fanfic or two, heh... and if I win this (I suppose I should be finding out soon if I did), they're going to send me a Yu-Gi-Oh! game for PSP! Which would be awesome! Except I don't have a PSP and don't plan to shell out the money to buy one! Huzzah!

Impressive...
And don't you worry, Phoenix... I have a feeling Lord Kaji will get his moment in the spotlight...
BTW, love the way you drew those Pokemon. That was a touching scene... n_n
Oh, trust, me, Saffire. Dungeon IS awesome. It's the kind of game I've been waiting for ever since I started liking Pokémon.
I like the Jolteon, too... I think it came out the best of the three colored Pokémon. That Blaziken is not my best, and the shading on the Rattata is evil. Gwar.
Heh, Blade, awesome as that sounds it'd have to be a real card before that happened... or else I'd have to lose the contest and then be free to make up whatever effect I wanted. Won't know for certain for a while.
And I'm glad you liked the little story or whatever... as I said, while the art wasn't my worst it wasn't my best, either, and I think it was the sentiment that won the judges over.
Congratulations on winning! Very cool. You're right, the art itself is a little shaky, but the message is quite nice. The dragon is quite shiny, although for some reason it doesn't look very Yu-Gi-Oh!-y. Good, though.
Send me the DS...[/subliminalmessage]
Avatar made by Jade Dragonair. Thanks very much, JD!
Possibly because he was done with colored pencil and not watercolor or whatever the heck they use, and because he doesn't have some random, glowy psychedelic background behind him. I was staring at a card while I was coloring, though; that's how I got the musculature. Thanks, though!
