Misdreavus' red sphere are reminiscent of the Philosopher's Stone from Full Metal Alchemist, which prominently featured the "gate" between two worlds.

According to the RS Pokedexes, Misdreavus uses its red spheres to absorb the fearful feelings of others and gain energy. (This is also another reminder of Full Metal Alchemist, as the Philosopher's Stone is made by absorbing human souls.)

Misdreavus resembles the beings beyond the "gate," who devoured Edward's limbs and Alphonse as payment for the Grand Arcanum (sp?). It also uses Pain Split to drain the strength of others.

Further, it seems to be a hollow shell, adding to its enigmatic nature. Any opponent must know what attacks can defeat it, thus cementing the importance of wisdom.

Not really relevant at all, but a Cradily (Steven's) must be defeated in order to win the game in RSE.

Cradily is a stone plant, so you'd think it to be brainless in every sense of the word; in truth, it is quite an intelligent predator.

All of Cradily's natural attacks and most of its learned attacks have 100% accuracy. The least accurate of the moves it can learn is Rock Tomb (80% accurate), making it quite a lethal sharpshooter.

The RSE Pokedex states that Cradily binds its prey with its tentacles, from which it then secretes a digestive fluid that melts the victim.

Psyduck appeared first in the days of RBY, although it still appears as one of Misty's Pokemon.

When the going gets rough
I’m not always tough
Psyduck is extremely timid; it was afraid to learn how to swim in a Pokemon Chronicles episode.

It’s a double-edged sword
In the anime, Psyduck must get a headache in order to use its psychic abilities. Therefore, it is only powerful if it gets hurt.

I’m usually bored
Psyduck is very dim-witted, or at least it appears that way most of the time. It also tends to forget using its psychic powers after the fact, according to various Pokedex entries.

You may think it’s wrong
But I never stay for long
Psyduck often releases itself from its Pokeball, only to get lectured or kicked by Misty. It rarely participates in battles, with rare exceptions such as Misty vs. Ash in the Whirl Cup.
