Vince
"So, you're my new roommate, heh?"
Vince blinked and looked up at the newcomer.
"I was just gonna ask you something similar, pal." he said, adjusting his shades. "But, yeah. The name's Vincent Lancaster. You can call me Vince."
He offered the newcomer his hand; the bigger teen shook it, smiling cheerfully.
"Hiroshi Nagasaki." he said with a slight bow. "It is a pleasure for meeting you."
Vince paused, a bit taken aback by his new roommate's strange accent, but he shook it off.
"Same here." he said nonchalantly. "So, what're you in for? Breeding, battling, or Contests?"
Hiroshi's expression seemed to darken a bit.
"Breeding." he replied, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Silence.
"You... aren't here to breeding Pokemons, are you?" he said in a tone that sounded more like accusing than asking.
"Nope." Vince replied, shaking his head. "I'm here for a battling degree; I'm gonna become the best battler this place has ever seen!"
Hiroshi scowled.
"Oh, you are...?" he growled.
Vince finally began to take notice of the hostile sarcasm in Hiroshi's voice, but before he could act on it, the door to his and Hiroshi's room swung open again, and another Asian teen walked in; this one was shorter and had darker skin than Hiroshi, and his clothes looked like they hadn't been washed for at least a year.
Vince gave the newcomer an amused look.
“That’s the second time that door opened before I could get to it." he said with a cynical grin. "Funny, huh?”
The newbie looked at Vince in a confused way for a moment, before finally replying:
“Err… hi guys. I guess we’re roommates from now on, huh?”
Vince shrugged.
"Seems that way to me." he said. "What's your name, new guy?"
"Um... Alan. Alan Bradley."
"Nice to meetcha." Vince said with a nod and another handshake. "I'm Vincent Lancaster; this guy is Hir-"
“Great..." Hiroshi interrupted, frowning something awful by this point. "Now I have not one, but two roommates!”
Vince frowned and rolled his eyes. Somehow, he was beginning to think Hiroshi may not be the easiest person to room with.
“Huh, maybe the campus made a mistake setting us all up in the same room..." Vince said, subtly taunting Hiroshi a little. "Then again, this room is big enough for all three of us..."
He shrugged.
"Either way, I have to go to get a bite. See you guys later.”
With that, the dwarf went out and closed the door behind him.
And then, he turned and stood with his ear pressed against the door, listening to his roommates:
“Who are you now?”
“Afternoon mate, my name is Alan Bradley.”
“Another battler like that shorty that went off?”
“...Actually I’m in breeding and wouldn’t like a battle at all.”
“Oh! What a bloody warm-welcoming introduction! Cheers my friend, my name is Hiroshi Nagasaki. I’m here to study breeding too. Glad to know that there is a fellow classmate here!”
Vince frowned and pulled away from the door.
'So THAT'S it...' he thought. 'Hiroshi has some kind of vendetta against battlers... And it seems like Alan is pretty much the same...'
Vince adjusted his shades, then turned and walked off down the hallway.
'Fine by me... Just means less competition to get in my way.'

About fifteen minutes later, Vince was wandering down the hallway of one school building, on his way to the Battler's Forest, when suddenly a short, black-clad figure darted around the corner.
"Ack!" Vince yelped, jumping back away from whoever had just almost trampled him."
"Oh, thank Groudon!" the figure replied, putting a hand on his chest. "I finally found someone..."
Vince raised an eyebrow, one hand poised to grab and toss his first Pokeball at any moment.
"Found someone?" Vince echoed suspiciously. "What are ya, lost?"
The black-clad boy scratched the back of his neck sheepishly.
"Well... yes... um... excuse me, but can you help me find the Battler's Forest?"
Vince slowly relaxed his hand.
""The Forest... That's where I'm heading." he said. "Wait, so you're just lost, is all?"
The boy finally seemed to realize Vince's noticeable size; what looked like a hint of jealousy appeared on his face for a split-second before it was replaced by an embarrassed blush.
"Erm... yeah." he responded. "Pretty much..."
Vince sighed.
"OK, follow me." he said, gesturing to a door to his left.
The black-clad youth breathed a sigh of relief.
"You have no idea how much you just helped me..." he said gratefully. "Thanks... uh... friend."
"The name's Vince Lancaster." Vince replied, opening the somewhat heavy door. "And don't mention it. It's good to see at least one person in this school can go for more than two minutes without turning into an asshole."
"Er... what?"
"Never mind. Just a few upper-crust punks and a narrow-minded roommate. By the way, I don't think I got your name."
The black-garbed boy paused.
"It's Ienzo... Ienzo Lumaria."

Well, it seems that one disaster has been averted. To the Battler's Forest!
