While Polaron is concentrating on the air a foot in front of his face, Staryu is shaking off her twitchiness. Thankfully the next attack she is going to do doesn't require much movement. She concentrates on her form, filling all of it with energy. Then, starting from the jewel outward, she starts to disappear. The invisibility cloak flows over her whole body and then, she is gone. Except for her very centre jewel which remain visible. It's hard to spot in all this rain though . . .

Meanwhile Polaron has been forming a force shield. A pinkish glass spreads from the point he is staring at. When he finishes a large rectangle is now hanging in the air, rain streaming down it. He looks up from his handiwork and, where has that Staryu gotten to?

Staryu is very pleased to see Polaron looking around in confusion. She however then finds herself unable to move. Not even a twitch as the paralysis has finally caught up with her. She just hopes Polaron won't be able to find her. Unfortunately her luck has run out. Polaron spots her and starts to spark like mad. A bright flash illuminates the field and Staryu is once again fried. This also has the unfortunate bonus off attracting a certain Pokémon. A Flygon swoops down out of the storm and he doesn't look too happy.

Polaron looks askance at him but focuses back to the battle. Atlas comes out and stares the Flygon down. He stares at him and appears like he is appraising him. His skin keeps shuddering; he really does not like the rain. Polaron looks back to the battle and sees not one jewel but five. It doesn't last long however as they fade out, the rain striking the illusions. He beeps in amusement and blasts the real Staryu with a cone of sound. The Flygon snaps at the air in annoyance and lands, slamming all of his feet into the ground. He glares at Atlas and Polaron, his tail whipping back and forth in annoyance.

Well the Staryu is running on low at the moment. So she calls upon a higher power. Amazingly a small portion on the clouds part and a ray of bright white light comes beaming down upon the starfish. Her frame immediately became bulkier and more resistant to attacks. The Flygon is more irritable then ever with bright light, when suddenly the rain started to slacken. He looked up and saw the clouds breaking up and disappearing at a rapid rate. He then looked down to see Atlas chanting. He contemplated this as the sun started to warm his back. He snorted and leaped into the air. He kicked sand clods into the air as he circled once, seeming to pound the Pokémon deliberately before leaving. Grumbling all the while.

Next Polaron gathers metal again and fuses it all together, compressing it to the point of extreme heat. When it was good and ready he fired. It slammed home into the Staryu and she groaned. Elec gets out from his Rock and tosses the Pokéball. It rock, once, twice . . . thrice. And it's yours! You jump around in joy as the ball disappears and is teleported to the Safari Office.

Climbing the steep cliff of Trolgar you smile with pride as Sie soars over head, spraying blasts of fire in his aerial acrobatics. To you left a rustling catches your ears and from the sparse bushes a Shinx(M) and older sibling Luxio(M) wrestle out. In the distance a Geodude(F) rolls down the mountain, chased by Lairon(M).

The Quest
Not finding those pokemon to your liking, you breeze past them and head further up the mountain. A loud roar stops you in your tracks and a sudden rock slide comes at you. With seconds to spare before you death by boulder Sie swoopes in and grabs you up. Climbing onto is back you survey what happened. A battle is effect as an Onix(M) rumbles with a Torterra(M) for ownership of the area. In the trees 2 Chimchars(F) root them on and on the ground a Bonsly(M) skitters by for cover.

What will you do?

Kicking yourself for lack of inventory you sadly pass up the Torterra and soar on your drac. A Skarmory(M) fly just above you and screeches in contempt for entering his air space. 2 things catch your eye, 1. A plateau with a strange larger metal door with a keypad and 2. Another Chimchar(M) duking it with a Magnimite(G).

What will you do?

Hm... that Magnemite's bound to attract the attention of a Magneton sooner or later; I'll watch the two battle and see if my theory is correct.

Combusken wasted no time and scooped up some blackened earth, hurling it at Absol. She staggered back, blinded, firing off a slash attack which missed completely. It smashed into a tombstone behind Combusken. Kirlia was searching for nearby items.

Absol glowed a bright blue as she started seeing visions of the future. Combusken, powered up and ready to go, swung a glowing fist around and smashed the Pokemon in the face. She skidded back and got up slowly, firing another inaccurate blade of energy. Rawk leapt forward and delivered a crippling chop. Absol collapsed into the side of a tombstone. As she did, the cracked tombstone behind you gave an eerie howl.

Chris is interrupted by a huge crashing noise. You quickly look to your right, and the wall in front of the cavern you had blown yourself into was collapsing, and fast. Layers of rock were falling down at a very fast rate.

Seeing this a golden opportunity to get the pokemon you came for, you order Sie to land quietly. You and your dragon creep onto the scene and watch the fight. As it goes on the small magnet is getting its ass handed to it, taking Flame Wheels to the face. The smarmy Chimchar readies a Flamethrower to finishes it off when a might lightening bolt scream forth a strikes the ape. The blast reels the fire type away and it runs out of fears. As you predicted a burly Magneton slowly floats over to its pre evo and nurtures it.

A Frearow dives down out of the sky on the call of your whistle. You clamber aboard, returning your two Poké's. It takes a while but eventually the Fearow dives and let's you off in a cloudy, gloomy Graveyard owned by a dude named Grave ironically enough. You release Atlas and Polaron, and begin to search about.
As your wander you peer through the mist and see two pairs of eyes peeking out from around a tombstone. As you venture closer they reveal to be two Lavitar watching you warily. You look around some more and almost stumble over a Voltorb as you peer at a dark shape cruising through the fog. It comes slowly closer and it's a Shedinja. Finally a putrid smell reaches your nose and you turn to see a Skuntank stalking past.

The Battle
The time is now to strike, for your prey has finally shown itself. Whispering orders to your drac, Sie summons from the sky ancient draconic forces. A giant, coiling, green Chinese dragon flies from the clouds and absorbs into Sies body given him increased speed and attack.

The impressive light show gains the attentions of the two magnets, causing the little one to flee and the triplet to spark with anger. From the brush Sie leaps for the Magneton and bites down on it, dragging it to the ground and shaking it with flaming teeth. Shocked by the assault, Magneton releases Supersonic waves, injuring Sies ears and causing him to let it go.

The mighty Salmence keeps the rapid fire attack going by lifting off the ground and spewing a heavy blast of heat but they simply meet a shimmering Protect field, nullifying the fire to nothing. You are very impressed by the instincts of this pokemon, he will make a fine member of you team, if you can catch him…

You leave the Pokémon be and wander on, glad to away from the Skuntank. As you wander you see a shape that is barely discernable from the mist. You step closer and see it is a Duskull floating by. A grumbling is coming from your feet and you see a Lavitar by your leg, grumbling as he wanders past. Just in behind the Duskull, a Banette appears, looking at you in a rather unsettling way. You turn from her and watch as a Baltoy spins past, saying it's name softly to itself in a sing song way.

You quietly continue on, but the Banette keeps following you. You soon figure out why. A little Shuppet floats up to it and she greets it, keeping a wary eye on you. A Gastly is in behind the Shuppet, frowning as it watches the two of them. The Shuppet calls to her and she comes up and they play under the watchful gaze of the Shuppet's mother. A slightly less dreadful smell reaches your nose and you see a Stunky proudly winding its way around the tombstones. She looks at you imperiously, just asking you to say something about the smell. Finally a Drifloon floats past, being pushed gently by the slight breeze.

You enter the park and pay for two great Balls. Walking up to the fleet of flyers you choose the Pidgeot which is sitting behind the sign marking 'Tranquil Shores". Hoping on you enjoy the sites as you fly towards the beautiful beach. When you land you thank the Pidgeot and release your Electabuzz and Charizard. Your Charizard takes to the air, enjoying the warm air. Electabuzz just strolls along as you walk down the beach.
As you look out over the ocean you see a Wingull gliding lazily on the sea breeze. A Wooper is playing in the shallows looking like he is having a good old time. To your right you can see a Nincada nibbling on the palm tree and in a giant pit a Trapinch is at the bottom, peering up at you warily. He stands out a lot from the sand, as he's a weird teal colour.

You continue on, scooting around another Trapinch trap, this one perfectly normal in colour. After that you spy nothing for a while but then a Diglett burrows up out of the sand. A Sandshrew follows him and they seem to be having an argument. Just then you hear thumping coming from behind you and you duck just in time and a blue flamed Ponyta leaps over your head. She skids to a stop and seems to be laughing as she stares at you. You are a little disgruntled for being startled so badly. Hao roars at her from overhead but she just whinnies challenging back.

You carefully step around the Ponyta and she snorts at you before wheeling and taking off. You sigh in relief and wander down closer to the water. You see another Trapinch, but this one is talking with a Dugtrio who looks to be annoyed about something. Suddenly you hear Hao roar and you look up to a male Flygon circling him inquisitively. He doesn't seem too aggressive but you watch them circle each other warily.
Your Electabuzz gets your attention and you turn to her and see she has a Great ball in her hand. You take it with thanks, and she nods but then points out to sea. You turn and see a boat heading inshore. You can't believe it but it's Alf the Janitor! And he appears to have fishing rods on board his boat . . .

You and Chris head the only other way, through a fairly narrow tunnel. There are a series of mystical shiny gems embedded in the walls, and the tunnel forks into a series of separate passages. A Staraptor is bumming around the tunnel's entrance. It has an extremely white coat of fur, probably due to living in the series of caves back here. It continues waddling around until it spots you, and zips into the far left passage. You can see a Combusken in the middle cave, and a horde of Rattata running along the right passage.

I'll check out some of them gems first, then proceed.

You walk over to the the gems and examine them. Pretty, but nothing of use in the Pokemon world. Then, you spot something twinkling to the right. A skeleton is embedded into the cave's wall, and in his bony grasp is a dusty Pokeball. Not much, but hey, he won't need it anymore! You yoink it away and stuff it in your pocket, proceeding down the left tunnel. It seems to stretch down quite a bit. There is another Gastrodon creeping along the wall, and a Swinub is digging around for grubs a few feet ahead of you.
