Name: Abe [no] Tsukiko

Gender: Female

Age: She lists her age as 28; historical evidence is to the contrary

Appearance: Long and thin and seemingly partially vampiric in nature would describe Tsukiko pretty well. Her height is listed as 5'9" in school records, though many of her students swear that she's taller. She has the snakelike ability to lounge anytime, anywhere. Her black hair is cut with cheek-length bangs and a short frontal fringe that comes to the middle of her forehead, and in back is exceedingly long and straight, reaching well past her feet. At home she ties it in a loose tail, at work she fashions it into various different styles including but not limited to french braids, chignons and twists.
Her eyes are dark grey, and perpetually half-closed. Her pale skin gives the impression that it has never before seen the light of day. If not for the inherent feeling of clammy creepiness constantly present about her being, Tsukiko might have fitted into traditional conventions of beauty, with her svelte figure and substantial curves.
When not teaching, it is very obvious that her favourite colour is black, with occasional overtones of red and gold. She dresses in exquisitely patterned haori and kimono, as well as more Westernised clothing, such as low-cut, long-sleeved dresses, and sometimes rolls dainty leaf cheroots to be smoked in long cigarette holders, of the onyx Audrey Hepburn kind. At school she tames this fondness for fancy clothing into prosaic skirt suits, cardigans and sweaters of more neutral tones, and tactfully saves the cigarette holders for use outside teaching hours.

Personality: Tsukiko is laid-back, in the negative, uncaring way, about most things. She 'does not like to be bothered by things which matter not', though this opens up new questions about what, exactly, she counts as things that matter. She has an annoying habit to overstate small matters and understate important ones; she derives pleasure from other people's discomfiture at times, often makes caustic, acerbic comments, and could be said to be mildly sadistic. She is never excessively angry or surprised, or at least, the side of Tsukiko that shows furious rage and intense emotion has yet to be seen. When she smiles, it is a bad omen of things to come. She enjoys keeping secrets (to be expected) and rock music (not so expected): she says rock bands are mankind's greatest invention since she officially died.
She has a languid way of doing things, and often pretends that she isn't paying any attention at all when she has probably noted down every stray inflection of speech or behaviour in her efficient, though contrary, brain. Her favourite response is: "Oh, is that so?"
Tsukiko is a firm advocate of Lazy Reasoning. Also, when she uses 'everyone' and 'no one', it should be understood that she does not include herself in such generalizations.

Powers: Possesses all the abilities of the Quincy archer, up to and including Ransoutengai, which she specializes in (aka puppet body technique thing). She cannot fire arrows with the same rapidity as Ishida Ryuuken, however. Her bow appears to be constructed out of charred, blackened bone, and does not fluctuate in size, unlike the plasma-like blue energy bows used by other Quincy. Her Quincy cross is shaped like a magatama.
Tsukiko's zanpakutou, Ukifune, manifests itself as a woman whose appearance varies, save that she is always heavily veiled. In its sealed state, Ukifune resembles an ordinary tanto (short sword) in a black lacquered scabbard. Her shikai will not be elaborated upon at present, except that it doesn't have a clear cut transition from shikai to bankai like most zanpakutou, and is kidou-based. Its release command is allegedly sink or swim? ("ichi ka bachi ka?").
When pressed to, Tsukiko will use high-level kidou, which are her mainstay. Her swordsmanship, by her own admission, is average at best, and she stresses that the shikai abilities of her zanpakutou do not utilize or encourage swordsmanship skills as an excuse for not bettering herself in the field.

History: Abe no Tsukiko was the younger of a pair of twins born to the Abe clan of onmyoji in the late Heian period (mid-twelfth century Japan). Although onmyodo was an esoteric art with no bearing on Soul Society, Shinigami, or Hollows, the Abe clan, with a lineage of spiritually-aware individuals stemming from the great Abe no Seimei, was one of the first to develop their spiritual awareness into something approaching the present techniques of the Quincy race. The name Quincy was only formally applied to the race after her time, as was the standardization of abilities and limitations, such as the uniform and method of materializing the bow.
Tsukiko and her brother were prodigies, and very close. Tsukiko herself died young, a comparatively natural death by plague. After death her soul was escorted as a plus to Soul Society, where she showed spiritual potential and was admitted to the academy. While serving as a Shinigami, she was originally sorted into the fifth division, but later rose to prominent rank in a completely separate organisation, the Demon Arts Corps (kidoshu). She did not raise any substantial objections against the widescale extermination of Quincy during the Shinigami-Quincy war, since by that time, the concept and motivations of the Quincy had evolved into something completely different from those she had known during her lifetime. However, she did not participate in the war.
For the past twenty-odd years she has been absent without leave from Soul Society, citing 'family matters' as her reason. She has at least partial agreement with the central government of Soul Society to stay on in the human world, as she currently resides in a traceable gigai (albeit supplied by Urahara), and has not been arrested (or rather, no arrest attempts have been made). Her loyalty appears to be ambiguous, as upon her return to the human realm, she began relearning Quincy abilities, ceasing use of her zanpakutou. Approximately three years ago, she began teaching at Karakura High School, at the same time that Katashi began studying there. Her classes are fairly liberal, as she makes no demands of her students to stay focused, but rather reminds them that it's their own damn business and none of hers if they want to fail and potentially ruin their futures. Her other known activities in the human world include the mentoring of her (insert many 'great's here) nephew Katashi.

Relations: Claims to be Katashi's aunt; this claim is correct, but is off by about twenty or more 'great's. She is in charge of his (and all potential humans') homeroom, and teaches History. Also recognizes many Shinigami.

Other: She holds a certain unexplained contempt for the Quincy uniform, and has a somewhat archaic or excessively formal way of speech, which while not going as far as 'thee' or 'thou' is still recognizably odd. (She uses no contractions; she USED to use many out-of-date words and pronounciations, but twenty years in the modern world has mellowed her out.)

Name: Gatomielo te Orcí
Gender: Male
Age: Appears to be in his late twenties
Appearance: Gatomielo is humanoid, as befits a former Vasto Lorde class Menos. In stature he is well-proportioned, and about 5'11" tall. The remnants of his Hollow mask are split into separate pieces on each side of the face, and frame his cheekbones (which are sunken in, but in an interesting way, the way that women call distinguished and men call sickly), making an outline below his black eyes, tapering down into what looks very much like upper canine teeth protruding past his jawline. His hair is buttercup yellow, the top half being pulled back from the forehead into a thin, long ponytail and the bottom half shaved into a crewcut. The hollow hole has, strangely enough, migrated to his left palm; the number 4 is tattoed on his right bicep.
He wears clinical white, as all Arrancars do, though his jacket is patterned after ancient Japanese court dress, with a mandarin-collared undershirt and wide sleeves, tied with a neat black men's obi. Otherwise his clothing is similar to the standard Arrancar issue: white hakama and zori, and black tabi.
Personality: Smooth of speech and subtle of manner, Gatomielo is a gentleman among gentlemen. Despite his polite ways and kindly mien, most say that his smile doesn't reach his eyes. He comes off as a rather cold fish with an obstinately stiff upper lip to many others, his more impatient acquaintances constantly losing their tempers at his calm demeanour. He does treat his friends with some degree of warmth; he tolerates Lobo's eccentricities with a brotherly affection, and is often amused at his younger colleague's antics. He never loses his temper, takes everything in stride, and is never visibly ruffled about anything. He is very focused, and keeps to his goals with a healthy passion, always seeking to be in control of any situation. (control freak? yes!)
Class: Arrancar; Espada #4
Powers: Standard Arrancar abilities - Cero blasts, Pesquisa [sensing spiritual pressure], Hierro [iron skin], Sonido [Arrancar flash steps], Garganta [returning to and coming from Hueco Mundo].
His zanpakutou is Solana. Solana is a crude, thickly bladed zanpakutou somewhat resembling an oversized kukri knife in sealed form, with the release command Salutations are in order. Gatomielo's resurrección causes him to be rooted to the ground by what appears to be a large pedestal-like edifice, while a chainlike halo, equally large, sprouts from one end of the pedestal, passes over his shoulders and behind his neck. Attached to this halo are eight gargantuan thunderbolt-like blades, fanning out from Gatomielo, who is poised at the center. He can still move while in this position; although he is considerably slower, the blades move according to his will and may act as shields or deflectors, or can be used as projectiles.
There is nothing special about his resurrección, save that it is made of extremely dense spiritual energy, and thus proportionately more difficult to disperse.

Other: He is the only self-made arrancar in the current lineup of the Espada. Also happens to be a tea aficionado.

I am doing some assumption about the assimilation of human souls into Soul Society (eg. Quincys, although classified as a separate race, are still considered humans, and if they die a natural death [not killed by Hollow or Shinigami] they undergo the same procedure as normal souls). Same thing goes for heavy BSing of the origins of the Quincy :x
