I'm going to start with Roaryx, my [M] Shinx. Go!

Chris. With your permission, I would enjoy taking part in this battle. Neither of us has to say anything, although I know we're both thinking the same thing. If you don't want to challenge me, fine, so be it. But, this is an open challenge, that I would hope to stick with, and you are a challenging opponent.

I'll use my male Slakoth, then. It's shiny. Start off with Dig, spiral out of the ground like a drill using your crush claw. Finish with an Earthquake.

Use a roar to scare it so much it won't want to come out its hole. Then howl to boost your attack and finish with a thunderbolt down the hole. If it still emerges from its hole then use quick attack to avoid the crush claw and end with crunch.

A long-discarded factory is the setting for this marvelous match amongst Gym Leader Chris and Not-a-Gym Leader Dylan. Safe from the harsh weather conditions outside (there's a thunder storm present), both trainers agree to a two-on-two battle to test their abilities once more. Chris, initiating the challenge, tosses the first Poke Ball to the soft soily ground of the factory. The ball explodes in a flash of white light before releasing from it a small, blue kitten, a newly captured pokemon. The shinx, named Roaryx, meows sweetly, letting the battlers know his presence.

Dylan smirks, tossing his own Poke Ball to the ground below, releasing a rare slakoth with purple fur. The unnamed slakoth yawns unpleasantly; his eagerness to battle must be hidden. "Start off with Dig," Mega Horny starts, "then spiral out of the ground like a drill using your Crush Claw. Finish with an Earthquake."

"Use a Roar to scare it so much it won't want to come out its hole. Then Howl to boost your attack and finish with a Thunderbolt down the hole," comes Chris 2.0's first attack strategy, "however, if it still emerges from its hole then use Quick Attack to avoid the Crush Claw and end with Crunch."

The first round begins immediately; the blue shinx stares at Slakoth - his eyes shooting out penetrating daggers as his voice booms loudly. An intimidating roar flutters the arena, causing Slakoth to shake in fear. Intimidated, Slakoth quickly, and uncharacteristically, slashes at the ground several times in order to burrow underground away from the tiny blue cat (-4% - Slakoth).

Slakoth, however, is not too afraid to attack his foe. His claws shimmer with a white aura as he shoots through the soft soil before burrowing out from underneath his foe (-3% - Slakoth). Prepared, however, Roaryx immediately leaps away from his foe with his lightning-fast quickness, taking a lot less damage than he would've had he not've been as ready (-3% - Roaryx; -3% - Roaryx).

Roaryx readies his counter attack; his tiny fangs begin trickling with a strange, dark current as he sinks them into Slakoth's torso; Slakoth howls in pain as the dark energy leaks into his wound, causing damage (-5% - Slakoth; -5% - Roaryx). Annoyed and in pain, Slakoth attempts to finish out the round the way his trainer had intended. Unfortunately, the attack Mega Horny had requested is not in Slakoth's databanks. Slinking to the ground, Slakoth is defeated, if only for this round.

The rain continues to pelt against the metallic sidings of the expired factory. Roaryx feels confident as lightning strikes several times. Dylan remains calm, however, waiting for his opponent to make the first move.

Chris smirks wildly, "Use Double Team then Shock Wave twice!" His orders were quick, hoping that his shinx would be as well.

Dylan ponders momentarily, "Flail about to destroy the clones," he said, "then Dig underground to avoid the first Shock Wave, while bursting up to attack afterwards!"

Roaryx wastes no time, closing his eyes and glowing a cool white color. His body separates into three parts, forming identical shinx doubles (-6% - Roaryx). Unable to detect which one was real, Slakoth discards all thoughts of accuracy and rumbles around without concern. His right arm slaps against one of the clones, causing it to disappear completely, while his left arm manages to land into the real Roaryx's torso, causing slight damage and forcing the shinx to lose his concentration on the other clone (-2% - Roaryx; -3% - Slakoth).

The blue cat grumbles as a small wave of electric current is shot all around. The yellow wave of lightning shoots towards Slakoth as he dives into the hole he had previously created (-3% - Roaryx). The shock wave dies upon hitting the ground, missing Slakoth completely. Feeling amused, Slakoth burrows towards the shinx immediately, bursting up and bashing the cat pokemon with his dirt-encased claws causing heavier damage (-6% - Roaryx; -5% - Slakoth).

Retreating a few meters, Roaryx quickly calls forth the same amount of electric energy and shoots it towards the shiny slakoth once more. Too tired to avoid the hit, slakoth takes the shock wave (-5% - Slakoth; 3% - Roaryx).

The heavy rainfall continues to thrash against the building, but the two trainers pay it no mind. Dylan, fierce about the battle at hand, makes his orders short and effective, "Crush Claw, Flamethrower, Toxic!"

Chris too, is short and effective, and so are orders, "Toxic, Thunder, Protect."

Roaryx patiently waits for Slakoth to dart towards him, preparing an acidic poison with a pair of venom sacs near his throat; they are unfamiliar to an electric-type, and thus will require a bit more energy to use. As the slakoth comes towards the shinx with his right arm glowing brightly, Roaryx spits out a shot of purple poisons which latch onto Slakoth's arm (-6% - Roaryx) as it crashes into him, causing more damage than it had before (-6% - Roaryx; -4% - Slakoth).

The poison pain is near immediate and Slakoth begins to sweat uncontrollably (-1% - Slakoth). So close to his foe, Roaryx fires off the most powerful electric attack in his arsenal; the electricity blasts a good five-feet radius, causing a great deal of damage to the shiny sloth pokemon (-10% - Slakoth; -6% - Roaryx). Despite the pain he suffered, Slakoth still readies himself for another attack. Breathing in, he shoots off a solid chain of fire, which proceeds to crash into Roaryx for considerable damage (-6% - Roaryx; -6% - Slakoth).

Taking more damage from the poison (-1% - Slakoth), Slakoth decides to return the favor by readying the poison sacs in his own throat; again, they are foreign to him. Meanwhile, Roaryx anticipates the attack and closes his eyes, creating a protective orb around him which disappears quickly (-7% - Roaryx). Slakoth spits out the venomous poisons towards his foe (-6% - Slakoth), but sighs as they slap against Roaryx's protective safeguard and disappear into nothingness.

Then, since Shinx is a little dog thing, hopefull you'll be out of his reach and you can Slack off for two turns.

The metallic rat-a-tat sounds coming from the rain outside act as white noise to the two battlers. Chris calls out his fourth attack set: "Okay, use Charge Beam, Quick Attack and Bite," he says, thinking for just a second to make up a contingency plan, "if Slakoth digs, then use Quick Attack to dart up some nearby stairs inside the factory and head to another floor."

Dylan, meanwhile, smirks to himself, finding a lazy plan for his lazy battler, "Inch over to the nearest railing or pipe you can. Then, when he uses Charge Beam, quickly leap up to the pipe or railing and grab on. Then, since Shinx is a little dog thing, hopefull you'll be out of his reach and you can Slack off for two turns."

Mega Horny doesn't realize that the shinx is more felinus than cannis, and thus very agile (being electric typing doesn't hurt either). As the unnamed slakoth slowly inches towards the back wall near the stairwell, Roaryx patiently glows a dim yellow, charging up for his next attack. Slakoth makes meets his back to the wall and stares peacefully at the railing above him. Roaryx shoots off the vibrant attack, ripping through the ground quite easily as it makes its way towards Slakoth. Acting as quickly as he can (which isn't saying much), Slakoth leaps high into the air, managing to avoid the blunt end of the attack (-3% - Slakoth; -6% - Roaryx) (RNG: 1-10; 1-7 SP ATK +, 8-10 NO EFF: No. 7 - SP ATK +) and latch his tail on the rail like a monkey before climbing up and resting. The poison flows through his body, however, causing him some pain (-2% - Slakoth).

In a matter that almost taunts the shinx, Slakoth lies peacefully on his narrow railing safeguard, keeping his energy up (-2% - Slakoth; +5% - Slakoth). However, Roaryx isn't as useless as Dylan assumes. The blue cat pokemon quickly darts over towards the wall. In a great burst of speed, Roaryx leaps towards the wall, kicks his feet against said wall and then manages to sink his teeth into the slakoth's left arm angrily; the sudden attack causes both Slakoth and Roaryx to fall from the railing only to hit the ground forcefully (-7% + -3% - Slakoth; -3% Roaryx; -8% - Roaryx). Slakoth yelps out in pain, but remains poised as his energy comes back to him (-2% - Slakoth; +5% - Slakoth).

The rain starts to die down noticeably, but the trainers keep their attention on the battle at hand. To avoid Slakoth's inevitable attack, Roaryx immediately makes his way back up the staircase to the metal floors above. The purple slakoth, lazy and slow, throws his fist into the cement ground below him, causing the ground to tremble crazily (-10% - Slakoth). The quake is dimmed down on the second floor, only dealing light damage to the shinx (-3% - Roaryx). Another burning sensation comes over him as the poison deepens (-3% - Slakoth).

Annoyed that his attempt to damage his foe didn't work so well, he slowly makes his way up the same staircase with his claws brimming with a great deal of energy. He works his way towards the blue cat, and clashes at said cat angrily (-6% - Roaryx; -4% - Slakoth), but as the claw retreats to it's owner, the shinx quickly crashes his teeth into it, with menacing dark energy trickling from them (-6% - Slakoth; -5% - Roaryx). Slakoth howls in pain over the damage to his arm; it begins to throb as the poison continues (-3% - Slakoth).

Roaryx retreats to another end of the metal floor whilst charging up for his second electric beam. Within moments, he shoots off the attack which bursts through the warehouse before hitting the slakoth (-8% - Slakoth; -6% - Roaryx) (RNG: 1-10; 1-7 SP ATK +, 8-10 NO EFF: No. 8 - NO EFF). To avoid hurting his arm even further, Slakoth prepares another earthquake using his less dominant arm. The quake shoots through the metal floor, causing less damage and less fatigue to the pokemon (-8% - Roaryx; -6% - Slakoth). For the final time this round, Slakoth once again feels the burning quake of the poison.

ROUND SIX

With a new reffing format, the battle's sixth round takes off. Roaryx initiates the round by charging up his electricity for a swift attack. However, before he does so, he notes Slakoth readying an attack in the same manner as before with the previous earthquake. Noting the potential danger an earthquake could cause him, Roaryx dispels his initial attack and erects a protective shield which engulfs him (-8% - Roaryx). Slakoth slams down his fist, hurting his fist even more as the small tremor ripples through the ground (-3% - Slakoth; -8% - Slakoth). The ripples crash into the shinx's protective veil, shattering it into several pieces, leaving the electric cat unharmed. Slakoth, still very much in pain, howls once more as the hurtful poison deepens (-4% - Slakoth).

Giving into master's orders, how shallow they are, Slakoth once more slams his pained fist into the ground below, sending another tragic quake to flood the metal floor. Unable to erect another shield in time, Roaryx takes the full hit, hissing in pain (-3% - Slakoth; -10% - Roaryx; -8% - Slakoth). Shaking off the attack, Roaryx groans, shooting off several spikes of electricity which fly through the air until they pierce the purple slakoth for light damage (-6% - Slakoth; -3% - Roaryx) (-4% - Slakoth).

Roaryx waits patiently for Slakoth to attack once more so he can see what needs to be done in retalliation. As Slakoth furiously swipes at the ground below, Roaryx realizes that he needs to run; however, he is relieved to find out that Slakoth's attempts to dig are thwarted by the metal floor. It's not recommended to attempt to dig while you're on a rafter... even if you did succeed, you'd just fall to the bottom floor, and as both pokemon know, that hurts. With a sigh of relief, Roaryx shoots off another shock wave, which proceeds to pierce Slakoth with electricity once more (-6% - Slakoth; -3% - Roaryx) (-4% - Slakoth).

ROUND SEVEN

With Dylan shouting out inspiring and thought-provoking words to his slakoth for good luck, the seventh round officially begins. The rain has slowed down to a light trickle, and Mega Horny pulls out a very large boombox and places it on his shoulder. How he manages to hold it up is anyone's guess. From the speakers blare "The Final Countdown". Why "The Final Countdown"? Because this round is gonna be exciting, and no other song on the face of the planet could match it.

With Roaryx licking his paws and doing other stupid cat-things, Slakoth sighs and bashes his head against the metal floor for light damage (-1% - Slakoth). Feeling luckier already, Slakoth takes a step forward, ready to take down his foe. Unfortunately, this was also the time when his poisoned took effect (-5% - Slakoth / Overkill), forcing him to fall upon the metal floor and faint with dignity... or something. Roaryx meows, and continues to clean himself (+10% - Roaryx).

Angrily, Dylan slams the boombox onto the ground just before the chorus played. "Dammit, Europe," he exclaimed, "you lied to me!" The boombox shattered into many pieces (-100% - Europe's Career).

ROUND EIGHT

Even Europe's daunting melodies couldn't save the purple slakoth from defeat. As Dylan recalls the downed sloth, he pockets the poke ball and retrieves another from his belt, "Go Yanma," he says as he tosses the next ball to the factory floor. A rather-large dragonfly escapes from the ensuing flash of light, ready for battle.

Almost immediately as his foe charges up, Yanma closes his eyes and concentrates on the electric cat, surrounding him with a sharp pink aura. Roaryx complains, but cannot break free of the psychic grip and yelps as he is tossed into the nearby wall, causing slight damage (-6% - Roaryx; -5% - Yanma). Shaking off the mental attack, Roaryx pulls himself back together and charges up for a second time. The electricity flows quickly from within before he shoots it off, creating several blades of lightning which slice into the yanma's body, causing light damage (-5% - Yanma; -3% - Roaryx).

Electricity still flowing inside him, Roaryx starts charging up another attack. Reaching critical mass, the shinx releases the heavily-charged electricity (-8% - Roaryx) which nears Yanma quickly. Yanma acts fast, and jettisons right, narrowly avoiding the attack easily (-6% - Yanma; +SPD - Yanma).

Much faster, Yanma dives towards the tiny shinx as rocks are summoned around him. Noting the attack pattern of his adversary, Roaryx adjusts his battle strategy. His fangs tingle with ice energy, and as Yanma bashes into him with several rocks (-8% - Roaryx; -7% - Yanma), he quickly counteracts by sinking his icy fangs into the bug pokemon's torso (-8% - Yanma; -7% - Roaryx).
