Valentina continues to struggle against Carni's vines until you calm her down. Suddenly ready to attack, Valentina closes her eyes and pulls the 'vine out of his tree, slamming him to the ground violently (-10% - Carnivine; -7% - Valentina). Carnivine pulls himself back together, however, and lunges toward Valentina, letting his teeth dive into her right arm, causing great damage (-8% - Valentina; -7% - Carnivine).

Rawk Hawk stands back and guards the croagunk while Valentina brushes off the attack, summoning a soothing wind to brush against both herself and her foe (-6% - Carnivine; -4% - Valentina). Carnivine counteracts by releasing a sweet smell (-2% - Carnivine), which distracts her long enough to barrage her with a series of razor leaves for light damage (-5% - Valentina; -3% - Carnivine).

A few minor cuts and a large bruise on her arm, Valentina leaps back before conjuring up a beam of mental energy, blasting it at the carnivine angrily, causing good damage (-6% - Carnivine; -4% - Valentina).

The temperature drops, and your dependency on Horatio grows as you huddle against him for warmth. Talut starts becoming more uncomfortable as you continue flying through the mountain, spotting a few pokemon:

There's a piloswine (f) charing what appears to be a very large tree, and a pair of piplup (m + m) sliding down the snow on their bellies, while a larger empoleon (m) watches over them.


What will you do?

Still not quite what i'm looking for. I'll have Talut land a safe distance away from them and continue looking on foot. Talut can return to his pokeball if he wishes.

You steer Talut to a safe distance where no pokemon can be found; he lands on the ground, and you and Horatio leap off, returning the mammoth dragon to his poke ball as you do so.

You and Horatio continue your journey looking for pokemon when you come across a large fearow (f) sailing through the air. To your left, you see a cavern where you can faintly see a few fire pokemon inside huddled for warmth.

A prinplup (m) hobbles over to you out of curiosity, as well as glaceon (m).

What will you do?

Bingo. Finally what i was looking for. I'll try the nice approach first. I'll wave at the glaceon and ask it if he would like to join my team. If he accepts, then i will hold out my great ball. If he refuses or wants to battle i'll send Horatio forwards. Horatio will begin by trapping him in a fire spin to keep the glaceon from running off. Then use double team. Finally, use will-o-wisp

Horatio begins chattering with the glaceon, hoping to get him to join your party. However, the glaceon doesn't appear to want to go anywhere without a fight - perhaps due to his competative nature.

Horatio does some convincing, engulfing the small fox pokemon in a tornado of flames which keeps him trapped (-10% - Glaceon; -6% - Horatio). The glaceon attempts to fire off an ice beam, but the flames easily devour it (-6% - Glaceon).

Horatio then creates several clones (-5% - Horatio), confusing the ice fox as the flames finally die down. Glaceon takes a stab, sweeping the field with an icy wind that demolishes the several clones (-3% - Horatio; -4% - Glaceon).

Annoyed that his plan didn't work so well, Horatio spits out a hypnotic black flame that crashes into Glaceon, burning him (-6% - Horatio). Glaceon winces in pain for a moment as the burn starts taking effect (-3% - Glaceon).

Banned Moves: Rock throwing attacks, as this is a meadow so no rocks in sight or close enough to the surface underground.

Arena: Sunshine Fields

A large plain that overlooks TPML, the grass is soft and the air tasty. A plethora of grass Pokemon are found here as they enjoy the tickling breeze and the bright sunshine. Bird and normal-types are also found here..

A Pidgeotto wings down through the jungle and takes your Great Ball up and away to the Office. Right on it's heals is a Pidgeot, come to take you to Sunshine Fields. You return Chidori and happily clamber aboard. It shoots up through the small opening in the trees and heads even farther inland. It takes a while to get there; as you have to cross the swamp and another forest before can even glimpse it. In the distance you can see TPML as the Pidgeot goes into a lazily spiral to take you to the ground. Closer is the Old Village, looking rather ramshackle even form this height.

He lands, you thank him and he nods, taking off again for TPML. You release both your Pokémon and notice that Hao eyesight is much better. Not perfect but nearly 100%. You start to wander through the tall grass, the flowers bobbing in the gentle breeze. This is much better then the humid air of the jungle. You can just spot a Wurmple scurrying through the grass, trying to get as far away from you as fast as possible. A Skiploom is also drifting by, quite pleased with himself as he floats along. Finally you can just see a Mime Jr. in the distance watching you curiously.

Horatio, still on the offensive, releases a steady stream of flames that crash into the ice fox easily (-8% - Glaceon; -5% - Horatio). The glaceon cries out in pain, but retalliates by slamming into Horatio harshly (-5% - Horatio; -3% - Glaceon), making his body sore.

Horatio then begins to dig underground, which proves harder due to his sore appendages (-5% - Horatio); Glaceon, thinking his foe has fleed the battle scene, turns around and starts walking away, only to be surprised as Horatio strikes from below for great damage (-7% - Glaceon; -5% - Horatio). Once more, Glaceon's burn sets in (-3% - Glaceon).

Feeling confident, Horatio's teeth line themselves up with both fire and dark energy; like a houndoom, the fire hound leaps towards the glaceon and begins tearing through his weak body tirelessly (-15% - Glaceon; -10% - Horatio).

Glaceon retreats from Horatio's grip, and blasts him a powerful ice beam (-7% - Horatio; -5% - Glaceon).

It would seem that the glaceon still has some fight left with him, so it's not wise to capture him yet. Horatio lunges at the ice fox, his teeth shimmering with a weaker dark energy as he sinks them into glaceon, causing even more damage (-6% - Glaceon; -4% - Horatio).

Valentina decides to let out some pent-up frustration by bashing her foe repeatedly, causing him to bat up and down as if he were a boxing bag (-8% - Carnivine; -5% - Valentina). Carnivine, not having that, pulls himself together and whips out his vines once more, latching onto Valentina's left leg and lifting her off the ground before tightening their grip (-4% - Valentina; -2% - Carnivine).

Valentina, upside down, freezes her right hand and violently slams it into the vines that imprison her (-5% - Carnivine; -5% - Valentina); Carnivine's grip loosens and Valentina falls to the ground, taking minimal damage (-1% - Valentina). She quickly pulls herself back up and her hand, still encased in ice, gets a more direct hit in Carnivine's face (-10% - Carnivine; -5% - Valentina). Carnivine winces in pain whilst shrilling up before unhinging himself from the tree and fighting more personally. Carnivine spits out a puddle of purple ooze which crashes into Valentina, which begins syphoning her health (-1% - Valentina; -5% - Carnivine) as the round comes to a close.

Horatio continues the round by sinking his teeth into the glaceon once more, causing damage (-5% - Glaceon; -4% - Horatio).

Glaceon looks limp; seeing your opportunity, you hold up the great ball for a second and quickly toss it at the icy pokemon, sucking it in upon impact with a bright red light. Glaceon struggles to escape the orb-prison and the ball shakes once... twice... three times... four times...

And finally, the glaceon gives up. As you walk up to the large poke ball to collect your bounty, a large speaker chimes in, "Your Safari Zone quest is over. Please exit to the front gate and collect your pokemon."

More pent-up frustration ensues as the kirlia focuses on the toxins that have invaded her body before bashing the grass pokemon in the head with an increased power (-8% - Carnivine; -6% - Valentina). Carnivine's head falls backwards, but quickly retracts as he sinks his teeth into Valentina's left shoulder, dealing great damage (-10% - Valentina; -7% - Carnivine).

Valentina winces in pain, but retalliates almost instantly with another bashing in the face (-8% - Carnivine; -6% - Valentina). The flytrap pokemon counteracts with a violent whipping from his vines for light damage (-4% - Valentina; -2% - Carnivine).

Smirking to herself, Valentina ends the round by closing her eyes and keeping calm. The immediate are begins to darken as the kirlia and carnivine seemingly switch attributes completely (-8% - Valentina). When the marsh returns to normal, Valentina notes that her arms are now long and stringly, much like a carnivine's. Carnivine, however, has become a victim of his own poison as it begins to sap away at his lifeforce (-3% - Carnivine).

Just after collecting your two new teammates, you step back into the Safari Zone with a different pokemon at your side - your white-spotted houndoom, Yana.

As you both tread down Sunshine Fields, you take note of two cacoon pokemon - one silcoon (f) and one metapod (m). There are several pidgey (m) flying around as well as you wander. In the bushes, you manage to catch eyes with a pichu (f).
