Very well, let's start this out with a bang Kurei!

Start out by using Bulk Up, you're going to need a lot of power to get through that metal skin! Then use Quick Attack and try to get in the first strike! Then, use Dig and try to ground this guy!

I assumed when you said no type advantage you meant the pokemon themselves, not their attacks. If that's not the case than you can substitute Focus Blast for Dig.

Kuga grumbles slightly as tends to his pokemon a bit away in the dojo, glaring a the two trainers who decided to have a match in his gym. Who were they anyways and why were they not battling him? Still, in the spirit of battle he respected their confrontation and allowed it to take place. Two eager trainers face off each other on the hard wooden floor- McNinja and Vermillion. Eagerly Vermillion sent out his pokemon, Maladroit the Magnemite (quite a mouthful, if I do say so myself). Eyeing up his opponent, McNinja threw his own pokeball to the floor to release his dashing Riolu, Kurei who was oddly adorning a scarf. (Which for some reason, was billowing in a non-existent wind.)
Then the battle begins! Kurei immediately concentrates, clenching his fists and bunching up his muscles as he assumed a rather kung-fu-like pose and eyed down his opponent. Ironically enough, Maladroit also narrowed his eyes and focused upon his fighting-inclined opponent, locking on and concentrating so that it would not loose sight of Kurei.

Then things spun into motion! Kurei immediately leapt to the side and swiftly charged at Maladroit, who saw Kurei clearly but had little time to react as the swift fighting pokemon spun around and kicked the Magnemite so it went spinning backwards. Slightly peeved, Maladroit immediately revved up his inner power and fired out a stream of electricity that immediately coiled around Kurei. Zapping some of his strength away, Kurei felt the harmful tingling sensation burn through his body.

Kurei could feel the paralyzing affects of the thunder wave taking place, and eager to free himself he quickly struck his leg into the hard wooden floor of the dojo, snapping it and revealing the cool earth below. Seemingly diving into the dirt, Kurei managed to escape the snaring electricity. Realizing his opponent’s move, Maladroit concentrated yet again and levitated himself higher into the air just as Kurei burst through the hardwood floor again (ouch) and missed his mark. Landing on the floor, Kurei’s body twitched slightly as he felt himself lose some of his energy for speed.

Set up a Reflect followed by Mirror Shot and Thunderbolt.

Riolu, use Toxic as he setting up his reflect to poison him. Then use Captivate, if he's going to lower our accuracy then we'll make sure when HE hits us it won't be doing as much damage. Then use Rock Slide on him, let's see how well he can dodge while levitating!

Preparing itself for an attempt at an attack, Maladroit swiftly concentrated while levitating (which was quite a feat to do while levitating). Quickly a brilliant semi-transparent reflective shield appeared, as Maladroit did Reflect. Seeing the reflective barrier, Kurei took a few staggering steps forward and aimed his head high as he spewed out a stream of Toxic goo- aiming to go over the barrier. The barrier was not completely in vain however, taking away most of the goo so that only a few splattered part landed upon Maladroit. Still, the poison hit its mark taking a light effect upon the pokemon.

Rather indifferent but yet ready for more battle, Maladroit twirled his little magnets about as he charged up for another attack. Instantly a brilliant refractive beam shot out, lighting up the area with a blinding flash. The force of the beam was enough to cause Kurei to stagger backwards and raise his arms in a defensive way in alarm. Blinking, dots appeared in his vision as he suddenly realized that he could not see. Slightly bewildered by this, Kurei attempted to draw Magnemite’s attention by captivating him, but alas the lack of gender prevented the electrical pokemon from caring.

Feeling rather good about himself and his advantage, Magnemite buzzed happily as he charged up and sparked. Poor Kurei however could not see as he felt around the ground for something to pick up and throw at the sound of the buzzing. But by some chance of luck, Kurei found a dojo mat and immediately picked it up and hurled it in the direction of the sound. Magnemite’s little magnet-like right side was clipped, enough to cause him to lose some concentration on his levitation. At that moment however, Kurei felt the twitch in his muscles as he realized that paralysis was beginning to take its toll and he could not muster to blindedly find something else. Crackling energy roared down upon Kurei in the form of a thunderbolt as Maladroit zapped him thoroughly.

First off, was Magnemite poisoned? It said he felt the effects but that wasn't reflected on his status, just wonderin ^_^


Riolu, it's grounded! Before it can levitate again, fight past your pain and hit it with an Earthquake, you don't need to aim to do that and hopefully you can move that much! Focus on the noises it's making then Riolu and hit it with Facade! Focus any frustration you have at still feeling paralysis into it and it should be one heck of a shot! Then, use Drain Punch on it and get back some of your fire! Keep an eye on it though, if it looks like it's shrugging of Toxic, substitute the Drain Punch for a Poison Jab!

Kurei’s vision began to get a little bit better, as he blinked away and slowly could see the area around him. The blob-like thing that was lower to the ground than before was assumed to be Magnemite. Feeling quite worn out, Kurei mustered up as much strength as he could gather before slamming his paw into the hard wooden floor, busting through it. With his added concentration, the ground rumbled and seemed to quake as the floor broke and splintered in a cone-shape as it headed straight towards Magnemite. Mala gave a buzz of alarm as jagged rocks broke from the ground along with pieces of wood, jutting upwards and knocking him around as debris from the ceiling also clattered below. After the quake settled down, Mala gave another buzz of concentration as he began to buzz louder and louder, but Kurei only seemed to grow more agitated at the sound as he shook his head in annoyance.

More peeved than ever, Kurei didn’t let the paralysis bother him as he focused on the now clearer-blob of Magnemite. Leaping into the air he managed to take out his anger upon the metallic ball of magnet, lashing out through a series of punches and kicks. Startled, Magnemite soon concentrated and soon 5 of him seemed to be in the now broken dojo. Staggering a few steps back, Kurei frantically looked at the five magnemites- unable to determine which one was the true magnemite.

Feeling extremely worn out and now slightly puzzled at the clones, Kurei struck out at the nearest clone with a clawed and poison-dripping fist. As he swung, he was dismayed to find that the clone fizzled out and was not there, leaving four of Mala still. The paralysis caused his body to spark slightly and Kurei felt his legs quiver- refusing to move. Seeing a perfect opportunity, Mala gave a buzz of triumph as it created a metal ball (and seemingly all of its clones did the same) and hurled it at Kurei. Quivering and unable to move, Kurei closed his eyes as he prepared to be hit by four attacks. However, just one steel ball hit him, knocking him backwards off of his feet and down upon the floor.

Feeling confident and like he has the upper hand, Magnemite begins to emit a long and ear-piercing metallic noise that drives all those watching to cover their ears. Wincing a the sound, swiftly Kurei concentrates and creates a protective field around his body and condenses it to echo back the sound away from him, relieving himself of the horrible noise.

Seeing his attack countered, Magnemite fires up his electricity and prepares to use sheer force upon the Riolu. All three of his other clones seem to do the same. As crackling, dangerous energy swirls around him he easily blasts a large bolt of electricity at Kurei, hitting him dead on and causing the pokemon to whimper in pain. Singing slightly, Kurei closes his eyes, trying desperately to concentrate upon Magnemite’s movement, knowing full well that his advantage of speed is now gone. Realizing which of the clones is real now, he knows where his opponent is.

As Kurei concentrates, Magnemite seizes the opportunity and summons up his electrical power yet again. Another bolt zaps Riolu, causing the pokemon to growl in pain but sheer determination causes him to hold onto his concentration. As the painful electricity leaves his body, he opens his eyes and gazes fiercely at the Magnemite. Narrowing his eyes in concentration, a ball of swirling blue energy appears in front of him and suddenly blasts outwards straight at the floating pokemon. Maladroit spins effortlessly out of the way, but is shocked as the energy blast curves around and nails Maladroit dead on, sending him crashing into a nearby dojo wall and causing his clones to disappear.

With both pokemon exhausted from their battle, both Riolu and Magnemite stared eachother down while they attempted to gain back their much needed energy.

Riolu made the first move. Narrowing his gaze and gritting his teeth, he focused until in a blink of an eye three clones formed around him, making four Riolu’s appear before Magnemite’s eyes. Annoyed by this, he too snapped into action by charging up and firing off five distinct electric rays. Luckily, Kurei was only zapped by one for minor damage as the rest of his clones disappeared.

Kurei then, by some miracle, managed to temporarily shake off some of his paralysis. Grunting with pain as he leapt into the air he soared at Magnemite, wildly bringing his fist down across the pokemon. However, the moment Kurei leapt into the air Magnemite charged up electricity yet again. Managing to get in one of his blows, Kurei then was blasted backwards by a large bolt of electricity and sent flying several feet backwards, plummeting to the ground with a large thud.

Still fatigued but hoping to still have victory, Magnemite buzzed above the ground as he created a metal ball and hurled it at Riolu. Riolu saw it coming and desperately tried to dig into the ground, but his twitching muscles prevented him from moving much farther than into a crouched position. Instantly the metal ball collided into him, causing him to skid back a few feet.

Tired, Riolu kept his position and relaxed, trying to gain back some energy. However, another flying ball was sent in his direction as another gyro ball hit Riolu, this time skidding him back into a wall yet again. Wincing from pain, Kurei managed to gain back some of his energy but not as much as he would have hoped.

Finally, a moment of peace was observed again as both Kurei and Maladroit hovered or crouched in silence, both concentrating on conserving and gaining back their own energy.

Realizing how tired it was, Magnemite began gathering its own energy as Riolu stared down the electrical pokemon, readying itself for any attack that came to its direction. However, Riolu was prepared for nothing as Magnemite merely gave a buzzing sigh of relaxation.

Magnemite continued to relax, as Riolu decided to prepare himself once again. This time, he focused upon Magnemite’s movement… readying himself for the eminent battle that was to come. Having Magnemite relaxing there before him made it easy to gain a prediction of the pokemon’s movement.

At last, Riolu could contain himself no longer and swiftly he began to concentrate yet again. This time he pressed his mind to think of an attack, and the familiar blue aura formed again in a sphere. Seeing this, Magnemite instantly set to work as well as he began to buzz and swiftly sent a supersonic wave in Riolu’s direction. The blast was released just as the sound wave hit him, causing Riolu to misfire some what. The focus blast went flying at Magnemite, but it was almost completely avoided as Magnemite was only clipped by the blast. Riolu on the other hand was shaking his head, perturbed by the slight buzzing in his ears.

Sensing the weakness in Riolu, Magnemite began spiraling around and taunting Kurei with a bunch of pokemon-related insults. Hearing this and despite being tired, Kurei immediately snarled and attempted to leap at Magnemite. His paralysis prevented him from moving however, and instead he found himself stumbling upon the dojo’s floor, all the while considerably angered but too tired to swagger back.

Maladroit gave an audible buzzing laugh as it irked Riolu. Focusing this time however, Magnemite formed a powerful sonic blast that easily hit Riolu head-on, and Riolu found himself still upon the floor. Too tired to move, Riolu relaxed to gain back energy.

Magnemite was on the attack! Seeing his opponent in his fatigued and weakened state, he charged up another attack and soon sent a rainbow-like arc of electricity straight at the poor fallen Riolu. Immediately Kurei felt the familiar body-numbing pain that caused his whole body to twitch slightly. Closing his eyes, Kurei had attempted to counter with as much as he could muster but to no avail- the electrical attack was unavoidable with such a move.

Frustration settled in as Kurei looked up at its hovering foe. Clenching his jaw and heeding his trainer’s words, Kurei suddenly withdrew a large breath and with all of his strength he let out a tremendous roar. Maladroit didn’t even have time to taunt, and immediately was quite alarmed by how angry and ferocious the Riolu sounded. Immediately he floated to the back of the dojo (although it was a relatively small room) and eyed Riolu nervously.

Kurei then managed to place himself into a sitting position, as he relaxed to gain back some of his strength and made an attempt to collect himself. Meanwhile, Magnemite saw that Kurei was relaxing and a bit of his fear was eased. Forming a luminous ball of steel before him, suddenly Magnemite fired off a brilliant liquid beam straight at Kurei, hitting the poor thing head on and breaking some of it’s relaxation process.

With both pokemon feeling quite fatigued, they both created a deafening silence as the two of them relaxed, preparing for their next confrontation.

Riolu, hit him with Drain Punch to regain back some of your health. If you don't hit him the first time keep trying until you do. If you hit the first time use Double Team and then Relax.

Quite tired at his predicament but still determined, Riolu suddenly mustered up the strength to charge at the Magnemite. Maladroit grew nervous as he approached, and in doing so he concentrated hard enough until three clones appeared, making four Maladroits. Not hesitating, Riolu leapt into the air and tried to punch the Magnemite, but found that it was merely a clone- revealing the true Maladroit just a few feet away.

Reacting instantly, Riolu reacted by swinging his other fist about and this time he connected with the steely surface. The act was enough to send Maladroit flying backwards a bit, feeling as if something had been stolen from him. In recoil, he formed a large silver ball that seemed almost drawn to Riolu. Hurling it straight at him, Riolu was knocked backwards as the ball exploded upon impact.

Crouching upon the ground again, Riolu breathed heavily as he started to relax. However, as a seemingly reoccurrence another magnet bomb was hurled in his direction and he was left helpless as the highly accurate attack exploded upon impact, causing Riolu to stand and take the damage head on.
