[Tag team!] Wurz + CT vs. Blade + Timey Knight (ref - darling DL)

Hello hello! In the spirit of boredom...

4v4 overall, two Pokemon out at a time, two Pokemon per person
DQ: 1 week
Banned moves: Rest, Recover, and any other direct healing that does no damage.
Arena: Life On Mars - A 1970's street, complete with old cars, funky seventies hair, bad wallpaper and bent coppers, a nice patch of wizened grass on the left and a somewhat yellowed pool of water, sufficient for any aquatic Pokemon if needs be.
Each round, the referee should do a random dice roll for whether or not a car rolls down the street. There's a 25% chance, and a cry of "car!" will go up. Every Pokemon loses one action that round, as they scramble to get out of the way of the oncoming car.


I choose first, then my partner, then the opposing team chooses and attacks.

My first pokemon will be; Padfoot, my female Poochyena.

I'm going to join Blademaster as well, seeing as one, he and I agreed to eventually battle as partners in a tag teamer (but since one person I would have hoped would have battled him and I isn't too interested in a tag team battle, I guess this one will do nicely), and two, one of my battles is pretty much dead, so better to get a new one to be in.

Disclaimer: DL does not do Energy KO's unless specifically asked. In the event your Pokemon runs out of energy, they will sustain a period of two moves in which they will then regain 20% energy and resume the match. Any other requests that the ref should know about can be stated at anytime. Oh and the ref loves alcohol before-during-and after matches.

Uh, as always, I'd strongly prefer for Pokemon to faint when their energy hits 0%, not sure if anyone else will agree to it, but meh.

So now CT is joining? Interesting, unless I'm mistaken, I've got myself a spot in an all-Canadian battle (I know the girls are up north, what about you Blademaster?), and I guess she and I have a new battle (CT, I'm going to cancel our single battle, hope it's okay with you).

The thing about tag team battles is, when two people team up, they often have to converse about what they'd do for their attacks in each round, not in the topic itself, but through PMs, or any kind of IM.

I'll get my moves in shortly, but for now, my first Pokemon may bring back memories of our first battle, WO, even though you gave her away, I'm going to bring out my (own) Zangoose, Rika. She's female.

Blademaster, could you get on Windows Live Messenger later, once you decide on your Pokemon, please? Let's make this a good one.

Might want to think hard about what your first Pokemon will be, I chose Rika for a few reasons, and every Pokemon in a tag team battle needs a good supporting partner.

Okay Rika, let's start this round off with a bit of defense.

I want you to loudly Taunt both your opponents so that they'll have to use regular attacks, then Double Team yourself to make a nice handful of clones to distract them. Finish with a painful Thunderbolt on Sora.

Taunt (both opponents, and loudly so that it's harder for it to be drowned out by another sound based move) ~ Double Team ~ Thunderbolt (Sora)

Naval Piranha, use Swagger - they can't cover their eyes *and* ears *and still launch any sort of attack. After they're incapacitated, use Stealth Rock to rain down destruction on their field, and finish up by slamming Padfoot with an Energy Ball.

Okay Pads, let's mosey! Firstly, turn so that you're facing away from Lileep and use a Howl to drown out the Taunting, and to improve our team's morale! A wolf's howl can be heard over really long distances, so maybe it'll be loud enough to work.

Make sure you move from your original position to avoid those stealthy rocks, and use an Odor Sleuth to sniff out Lileep. Then wait until that Energy Ball has been set off, and chomp down on that fossil with an Ice Fang.

Sora, turn so you don't see the swagger and wrap one of your arms around Padfoot's tail and use Haze. Hold on to her tail, and let yourself be tugged along quietly as she moves about and uses Odor Sleuth to point out Lileep. Once she points him out, hit him hard with a Shadow Ball, then after Padfoot has struck with ice fang, torture Lileep with a Psychic.

Stretching out along the hood of my 1971 Chevrolet- (in butter yellow), I'm your radical host DL, and here we go-a Pokemon Battle. Man, Pokemon just swept this country. You just..CATCH these animals in these little acorn shells and then use them to have some totally righteous battles.

I mean, they're getting real high tech with them too. Last week, some guy came out with a mechanical one that had an automatic spring! But anyway...:hakes pompador:: Who we got fighting today.

======== Round 1: FIGHT! ========

I jump on the roof of my car (cause I'm the ref, I can do that!) and gladly watch this match begin. And what a beginning! Padfoot turns to look at Sora, as she floats behind him, facing away from the Lileep. She takes a deep breath, and unleashes a Howl immediately. It's loud, and rings across the arena, boosting herself and Sora a bit. However, as the Howl begins to subside Rika lunges atop a mailbox, and starts screaming insults at Padfoot, calling her a poor man's Houndoom with Down Syndrome, and calling Sora a deflated mass of wasted rubber and spirit...among others! That would get me mad!

Sora wasn't taking that at all! She forgot all about the Haze, and turned to look at Rika, waving her stringy arm in anguish. Padfoot though, felt a bit of pain as her tail was being gripped a bit too tight. Seething mad she was becoming, but not as much as Sora was...

As Sora was facing her now, Naval shook and swaggered around a bit, infuriating Sora even more....to the point where she was utterly confused! Wow. Alot of hate today! Padfoot was lucky she was looking down due to her tail being gripped too tight...

Pissed off, Padfoot lunged-half out of pain, and half out of anger at Naval and Rika...well the Rika group. Rika jumped from the mailbox and zanzokened, reappearing in 5 different spots at once! Hissing in glee, Rika and co beckoned the upset Padfoot. Padfoot though, dashed past them all-Sora in tow-and had a nice charged sphere of ghostly energy ready for Naval. Until the rocks came around them.

Swift as a thistle, Padfoot leapt atop one Stealthy rock, and across another, ducking under two as she fired off the ShadowBall. It connected, rocking the weird crinoid back and forth a bit. Sora stretched her free hand out and thwacked herself...though I'm sure that piddly arm wasn't hurting much even boosted

Wavering a bit from that strange hit upon herself, Sora turned her attention back to the Lileep. Padfoot didn't care about the rocks in the field now, she'd jump and hop across them as if they were stream crossing. Mid cross though, Sora spotted a yellow streak of energy arc in the sky, and come straight for him. At the same time, Padfoot was still heading toward Naval, only to see a glowing ball of grass energy streaking toward her. Both Pokemon tried to evade by moving in opposite direction, not really getting far. Padfoot easily won out though, and Sora was pulled out of the way of the Thunderbolt. Padfoot though got struck by the Energy Ball, and rolled a bit, dragging Sora with her for the ride.

Getting up, Padfoot lunged atop the Piranha and sunk her fangs in, creating a chilling sequence alongside Naval's left side. At the same time Sora shot a Psychic directly down upon Padfoot in her confusion! Lucky for her, Padfoot was over Naval, and so the concurrent blast erupted on the plant as originally planned-Padfoot being utterly unaffected by that Psychic.

Rika was sorta pissed that she missed the danged ghost, but that ghost would get his..

PAdfoot got off of the numb , but not frozen Naval, snarling. Sora made a mean face and puffed up...haha that face is so not mean XD. Rika is enjoying this laugh with me, that face is damned funny. Wait, I think that's irking her even more.

Great, this was a waste of my time. At this point, I don't want to have any tag team battles with anyone as my partner for a while, I mean, this is, like, the very first one I have had since I returned to ASB, and it really hurts my feelings that it ended in a DQ.

Right now, I'm better off being in battles where I only have one opponent, no partner at all.

DL, thanks for reffing, and Blademaster, I'm sorry this didn't work out. Maybe someday in the distant future, I may set up another tag team battle like this one.

Kyle: Don't let it hurt your feelings; tag teams are always hard to do since everyone needs to rely on 4 other people, and that's a hell of a lot harder when you consider people are away on summer holidays etc all.
