    Alright El, Relax this round but if that Growlithe tries any attack after the first time you relax, hit it with Hyper Beam again to make it sorry for hurting you so much already, blast up some more asphalt and blow up some cars while you're at it to really lay the hurt down! Then, use Secret Power and lets see what happens!

    Relax-->Relax/Hyper Beam if attacked-->Secret Power

    EDIT: Didn't have Hyper Beam reflected in my summary attacks

    Okay, Fenny... I think you and I are sick of this little dragon by now. It's special attack is down... so no more surfs and water attacks should hurt you so badly, so let's fight without fear! Let's take him down once and for all on this round!
    First, while he's relaxing let's shake him up and use Dragon Rage to make him pay! Then wait for that little dragon to start relaxing to he can't pull off a Hyper Beam in time and startle him with another Dragon Rage! If Dratini hasn't been finished off by then, use Secret Power to counter his and take advantage of that special attack downfall! If he has fainted, then relax to gather your energy.

    The Burger Lot-a ravaged area now- under the rain, it smells of doom and destruction. Elin quietly slithers under a rock, hoping to have not been spotted by Fenrir. That was unfortunately not to be, as he sniffed her out quite deflty, and set her aflame via Dragon Rage.

    [E: -12H(+6E) F: -7E]

    The rain did nothing to help the attack cool down, so Elin slithered away from Fenrir, and watched him. There was no movement-as far as she could tell in this thickening rain. Maybe she could relax--O SNAP Fenrir FAKES HER OUT! A second stream of flame came out of NOWHERE and threw Elin backwards! Fenrir almost seemed to cackle at his evilness...

    Hissing in disgust, Elin lied her head down in a puddle as the rain flowed over her limp body.

    Alright Fenny, it's time to rest up. First, use Dig to go underground! Just find where there is upturned pieces of asphault and dig into the fresh earth. Then hide out underground and rest to regain some of your energy.

    Quick question before I post my attack, does Psycic requires a Line of Sight to be used on an object or can it be used on things the user can only "mentally" see or something to that effect?

    Good question. In my limited experience. I've seen the uses of Psychic mostly be a visual line of sight. However, I'm sure that Psychic Pokemon can detect other Pokemon much easier than other Pokemon-and so may not need a line of sight. Let me ask a Head ref about that.

    Edit: After gathering knowledge from the Dalai Lamas of ASB, I've come to the conclusion that the line of sight needs to be established- before a pure psychic sense can be used to grasp at the foe. Basically, spot him, use it.

    As we begin out tenth round here at the Whopper Lair, Fenrir weakly makes an attempt to hide himself from his new opposition, a very..sleepy? Abra named Sammael. Digging as hard as he could, he hunkered down a good meter below the asphalt. However, Sammael would haphazardly float over toward the hole, and utilize her Psychic powers to hold it open before it caved in on itself. Not good :O!

    [S: -6E F: -4E]

    Ahhh safe! Fenrir lied down, and stretched out a bit in his new subterranean den.complete with wormy walls, moley markings and a wave of air coming down the tunnel to pummel him...wait..WHAT?

    A faint yelp could be heard, Sammael snickering with glee.

    [S: -7E F: -9H(+6E)]

    Wondering exactly what that was, Fenrir backed away from the entrance, but the air rippling didn't cease, a second blast followed its brethren, giving the Growlithe little room to even move around in his pain and torment of the Psychic waves. To make it worse, the rain was able to fall into the hole -and now Fenrir had a new problem. Accumulating water in his little hidey-hole.

    Sammael, use Shockwave on Fenrir as long as he's still in that standing water. If he tries to get out of the water or launches an attack at you, use Psychic to drop a bunch of that asphalt down the hole at him.

    Shockwave (as long as in the water)/Psychic until out of actions.

    No worries Fenny! You're faster than that Abra... so while he's pondering what attack to do, quickly dig further underground so he no longer knows where you are! Then relax for two rounds to gather up your energy again.

    < I'm going with the Dig version that the ASB Beta list uses. This is where Dig doesn't create a tunnel, but rather the pokemon digs down and reseals the hole behind it so the opponent doesn't know where they are. I know the psychic before prevented it, but I figure since he no longer can SEE Fenrir, he doesn't know what the heck Fenny is doing. XD >

    Deep within the depths of the earth, Fenrir found that it was high time to leave. Air was running low.Backing away as much as he could from the entrance, he began to dig once more. His feet were soggy from the accumulated rainwater, and oddly enough, he heard a odd sound coming down the hole. Hastily he dug, knowing that sound full well.

    Sammael however, did not hear the yelp of the pup, and was currently discouraged. His attack never missed, how was this possible. Maybe he was too far down? But the water? Bah, he didn't care, he had another idea...

    Fenrir was digging, but the bolt had caught up to his soggy paws, jolting him a bit. It was considerably weaker, having traveled through so much earth before reaching him.

    [S: -5E F: -4E/-3H]

    Snarling at that Abra way up yonder, Fenrir could finally relax. No way he knew where he was now.

    Sammael didn't, and so, decided on having Fenrir have a bit of trouble. Asphalt from all around him was picked up, and in a large heapful, were thrown all the way down in the first tunnel, covering Fenrir's escape route with Asphalt!

    [S: -7E F: -3H(+4E)]

    Unsure of the large sounds above him, Fenrir covered his nose with his paws and tried to relax. But it was very hard to breathe, he didn't feel relaxed at all.
    Meanwhile, Sammael repeated his action, using the torn asphalt to -in a way-repave the area where Fenrir once dug underground. If he won't COME out, we'll suffocate him down there!

    Alright Fenny, I'm sick of this whole thing. Asphault in a parking lot isn't very thick at all and its more than crumpled to shreds in other areas. If that Abra did what it was told to do, it only shoved it down the hole. So make him pay by using your own version of a psychic blast to blow open a huge hole for you to get out. If that doesn't completely work, use frustration to get yourself out of the hole and even attack the Abra if he's close. Then, follow up with a Crunch attack but if that little bugger tries to manipulate you in anyway... just avoid it with Aerial Ace.

    Sammael, use a Psychic on the ground around where Fenrir's buried to stop him from opening up too big a hole. Then, drop a Shadow Ball down the hole he does make. Finally, use Double Team to avoid any attack he makes.

    Hidden under the parking lot, Fenrir looked up. All he spotted was dirt. Alot of it. And there were some sounds, and some black pebbles. A mole over there too. Moley moley moley....but, somehow he was supposed to use Mimic when he couldn't even SEE what that other Pokemon was doing? He howled in disagreement, and snarled, accumulating a glow around his body...really pissed off at his predicament...

    Sammael noted no ground movement, and so, wondered what part of the ground he was supposed to keep still with his own Psychic. Returning attention to the original hole, he blasted a wave of downward energy there, to theoretically pin the ground and rocks there.

    [S: -7E F: -5H]

    At this point, Fenrir was dizzy and pissed. He was undeniably killing himself down there!. In a flash of rage and Frustration, the ground underwent a mini-quake, and Fenrir burst free- sweat and dust clinging to his fur. The fallout of uprooted rock and ground threw Sammael back a bit.

    Seeing the pup was free of the ground, retaliatory action was taken, and he teleported over Fenrir, throwing a close range Shadowball to try and send Fenrir to an early-already dug grave! Fenrir howled in disgust, but did not go back down there!

    [S: -6E/-5H (Rock burst from Frustration) F: -8E/-7H]

    Panting, Fenrir used the last of his speed to try and Crunch the Abra out of the air. Sammael did not have the advantage, and was grasped by the foot, before being pulled down and viciously mauled by Fenrir. Bouncing over to the right, Sammael held his foot in pain, utterly forgetting about the Double Team.

    Sammael, use Psychic to finish off Fenrir, grab him and start twisting!

    If he manages to survive the Psychic somehow, use a Shockwave to finish it for good. Whenever he does go down, Rest for the rest of the turn to rejuvinate your health and power and get ready for the next pokemon!

    Okay Fenny... it'll hopefully take that Abra some time to prepare for his attack and it'll be hard for him to concentrate on a moving target! So swiftly, run into Burger King as fast as you can and hide behind the counter somewhere in Burger King so he can't find you! Then just lay down and gather up your lost energy. If that Abra manages to find you or tries to hurt you, use Endure!

    Man, this match is lasting quite a while. I'm gonna go grab a bite to eat. Fenrir though, turned and tried to dart into the Burger King. However, he was utterly pooped, and needed a moment to catch his breath. That moment was all Sammael needed, as the Psychic grip of unconsciousness enveloped Fenrir. Fenrir struggled against the pulling of the Psychic, but alas, he fell due to immense fatigue and the inability to put up anymore of a fight.

    Alrighty Sammael, let's start out with the good ol'stanby Toxic. Then, use Flash to double up the afflictions. Finally, use Thunder Wave and stop that Ralts in its tracks. If at any time the Ralts uses Safeguard after your Toxic use a Safeguard of your own and then a Shadow Balll

    Yeah I say this, and Sammael just kinda opens his mouth and makes gurgling sounds. Ethrel does a little dance, and a veil of energy starts to envelop him, just as the Toxic strikes him and knocks him flat off the counter and onto the floor.

    Verdict is....

    ::Ethrel coughs:: Sammael Got 'im!

    No matter, as Ethrel climbs back on the counter. People run out the King, as I grab a soda before the machine gets demolished. FILL, YOU BIG GULP YOU! As I fill this cup..Sammael begins to shimmy himself, starting to cover himself with that same veil. As soon as it envelops his whole body though... he goes flying -Oh but he stops himself from flying through the window! Damn! Ethrel grins, as his hands still shimmer with ghostly energy.

    [S: -4E/-12H E: -7E]

    Not cool! To show his "appreciation" Sammael cocks his hands together, and forces a ghostly sphere of his own to form. Ethrel watches, and his eyes glow. In the blink of an eye, Sammael watches as he now has a row of 5 Ethrel's to shoot at. So-he does! And he scores a...(die roll...1) MISS!

    Alright Ethrel, we've still got four of our clones! So take advantage of that fact and use Imprison to eliminate a lot of Abra's options- most importantly its highly used Shadow Ball. Then follow up with Secret Power to add to the disarray. Then finish with Shadow Sneak! If at any time Abra doesn't attack you, use Rest, but continue to use the following attacks in their proper order. (EX: If Ethrel uses Relax first round, second round it does Imprison followed by Secret Power etc.)

    Imprison -> Secret Power -> Shadow Sneak

    Well, now this is funny. Ethrel and co are asleep. Sammael spots this and tries to take full advantage, by creating a set of spheres around his body. With reckless abandon, they are coalesced into one-and are flung at the group. It pierces through the heart of the group-Ethrel-and causes the little Ralts to bounce off the counter and onto the floor!

    Floating over his prey-Sammael quickly released a shocking Flash...that did nothing. Ethrel blinked just then, waking up. The heck just happened?!?!

    It seems the competetors don't know when to stop! No sooner after the commercials ended did Sammael coalescse the spirits of the dead cows used to make these hamburgers here, and formed them into a Sphere of howling shadow energy. A mighty pitch, and it was heaved at Ethrel...

    Or, it should have been. Ethrel stood there, grinning alongside its cohorts-their eyes shining. Cripes! Ethrel succeeded in disabling Shadowball for a bit!

    Drat. That foiled, Sammael aimed to sit down, when he noticed his own shadowball in the air. Why was it up there...and then it dawned on him. That wasn't his. He raised a hand to block-, but the oblong speeding shape slammed into him....

    but dang, he stopped himself AGAIN from flying out the window. Jeez I wanna see bodies hit the glass!

    [S: -12H E: -8E]

    Ticked off, Sammael raised his hands to his eyes, and forced the lids open, creating a instantaneous Psychic wave to be emitted. His focus was on teh Ralts to the right..and as soon as he though he had it, they were all gone.

    Ethrel appeared behind Sammael-cloneless due to the energy needed to perform that action. But he merely giggled and patted the Frisbee in his head.

    Sammael! Back into the nearest corner and put up a Light Screen, then Rest for the rest of the turn. Your screen'll protect you from anything special she throws at you and you're already half asleep anyway so sleep through whatever else he tries to taunt you with. The screen and corner will protect you from the wind too.

    With everything on the line, our two trainers tell their Pokemon their now seventeenth commands. With no hesitation, both Pokemon listen. Sammael takes the moment of lapse in action to huddle in a non-human occupied corner and force a protective barrier around the area, kinda making an invisible cage for himself.

    Ethrel thought he could be faster, but as the Shadowball surfed through the medium and crashed into Sammael, the filtering of what seemed to be half of that ghostly energy occurred right before Sammael was struck.

    [S: -5E/-6H (L.S up.) E: -8E ]

    Uncool. Ethrel hissed and thought up something to spout off at that no good sleepy panda bea..wait..was it going to sleep? Hellz no! Ethrel quickly screwed the Taunting idea and threw a stream of Icy Wind in his general direction.

    Half dazed, Sammael was forced awake by the cold, completely jarring his sense of mind.

    [S: -3H x_O! E: -5E ]

    Ugh, feeling awake now, thanks to the cold-Sammael tried to snuggle up against the wall, only to be punched by the wall. Falling on his face, Sammael stared at the wall, confused. Was he punched by the shadow? It didn't matter. With being attacked first, he could fall over and pass out! That he did, quite resiliently, I must state.

    Ethrel shrieked in disapproval! The dang thing RESTED! After ALL THAT!

    Umm... I have to make a little complaint. Rest shouldn't gather THAT much energy/hp back for only 1/3 of the complete round. Shouldn't he gain energy/hp back at a least more gradual gain for each third of the round? I just was noticing that when you compare it to Ethrel when he rested before and FEnrir when he rested. Fenrir rested through the whole round... Just seems... way to extreme... especially when you compare it to the ASB guidelines. I figure there should be some advantage for keeping Abra awake 2/3 of the round... but then having him gain back something so extremely quickly for 1/3 of a round seems out of place.

    EDIT: Also noticed that the Abra was only given two attacks too...

    o.o ::Looks it over. Offers explanation.::

    Ok. Rest. Now here's the thing. Both times that Rest was used before-the Pokemon had more than 50% health, and so the amount of health returned to them was considerably less than the actual maximum (Which pops out to about like 58-63%). Ethrel merely rested to get the Toxic out of his system, and as such, only for 3% life back and whatever energy was missing.


    Second: Both times, Rest was used with no truly attacking party for the beginning of the round. It dosen't matter if its the end of the round as such, that Pokemon will STILL be asleep for the next two moves after, and as such, the opponent has the ability to unleash all of hell and heaven upon them and weaken them down to where they were before, before that Pokemon even wakes up. As you notice, both times rest was used I posted the amount Rest healed at the beginning (Actually no, the first time, I saw that No one was doing ANYTHING that whole round, and so I just opted to post it at the end since the health/energy levels would not change at all)


    Third: The ASB guidelines do state this..
    The user deliberately goes into a supernatural healing trance, purging away injuries and maladictions at an incredible, unnatural rate. This trance is very deep and virtually unbreakable, and the user is wholly defenseless so long as it lasts. The longer it lasts, however, the greater the healing it allows for.

    Now here's where it gets sticky. Since it was used at the end of the round, theoretically, I wouldn't have been able to post what the heck the end values were for Sammael. So I opted to put them there so everyone knew just where he was at-and if he was unloaded on in the following round, you'd have some idea of around how much or how little you'd hurt him, instead of just seeing a value pop up and you going "whoa hey wha? THIS IS MADNESS!"


    Third: o.o Yes. Abra was given only two attacks. But it was stated that he was to Rest for the rest of the turn, so that covers both final actions, for me. Plenty of times, I've had battlers just be like. "Just use Psychic all turn!"
    I usually take that as *continue to use the last move stated unless specifically instructed to do NOTHiNG for the last action*

    However, if you feel that was too indistinct an explanation for the last round of attacks just say so, and I'll edit as necessary. . Dr, I'll need your input on this as well :O.

    (I'm serious, just be like "NO DL, CHANGE IT YOU GIMPING EXCUSE FOR A REF" and I'll be happy to change it :O)

    You're not a gimping excuse for a ref. XD

    Anywho, you have to keep in mind that 'incredible' by ASB standards, is about 10 HP per turn. They use terms like 'incredible' for attacking too, which takes away anywhere from 10 - 15 HP. I just am confused because the longer one rests, the more HP returns to them... which seems that perhaps there isn't a set 'resting' period.

    But in any case, I'm sorta tired so I'll just have McNinja post his attacks and go from there.

    I just am a little miffed because if I would have known that, I wouldn't have had Ethrel attack first.



    EDIT: I also wanted to point out that if that is your total... then technically isn't your total for Ethrel back when he rested skewed too? 'Cuz he was attacked while he was resting, but if he is slowly gaining back HP while resting... then shouldn't he have gained some back? Just find it tricky. I guess I just think that the pokemon should be able to be woken up... ^_^;; Otherwise Rest seems a bit overpowered or unbalanced.

    If Bulba4 is fine with moving on then I'll go ahead and do that.

    Sammael, use Snore twice while you're still asleep then when you wake up use your newly returned Shadow Ball. If Ethrel disables or removes that option somehow again use Shock Wave instead!

    I have no idea if I can even do snore while in Rest's trance-like sleep so if I can't just ignore that and wait til he wakes up to do the last attack.

    Dr: o.O You can Snore.

    See-that's what makes Rest weird in ASB. "Incredible" by ASB standards is really in aptitude to what the attack calls for. I mean, those are guidelines, and while I know we all should stick to those a bit more carefully, things like Recover, Synthesis and Rest do far more recovery than what "Incredible" stands for (IMO).

    Now, by that rhetoric, if Synthesis did the same amount as Rest on one turn, that would be well...superbly extreme. And that fits, because it costs a GREAT deal of energy to do so (;like up to 15-17% (IMO again, but I may have to adjust it...). That's alot to get like half yer health back and no detriment..)

    One more thing. Rest (IMO) needs to have the health coming back immediatly-Otherwise...someone could kill you immediatly

    (EX: Sammael 3hp Ethrel : 44hp Sammael Rests for the first action, but gets railed by Ethrel's Shadowball. Ok he just got knocked out. Umm why would you have Rested if it wasn't for the instant Benefit?) and they can be woken up, but its a bit difficult to do so. (I mean, Wake-Up slap exists SOLELY for that reason xD.)

    That's why I put the recovered HP/Energy at the beginning and then have them be just at the mercy of the other char. It seems more sensical at that.
    As for Ethrel. Naa. It didn't have much to recover at all. I mean if there were no life caps, Ethrel would have like 146HP after Resting. I merely post up to the maximum limit. Its not like the move only did that much, I just show what was used. Kinda econimical..I guess lol.

    Aslo, if they were healing each action, that would suck cause it would be like..damage--heal--damage--heal HAHA you suck! But...I'ma go ask the Head Refs XD. I'd really like to know this.
