Default Gym Match - Chris 2.0 VS Dragonis [Ref: DarkestLight]

    The Match

This Gym Battle is a 4-4 match with two Pokemon out at a time.

    I send out my first
Then you send out your first
I then send out my second choice
And you send out your second choice and attack
    Then I attack

When a Pokemon faints they are replaced by the next.

    Winnings
-If the challanger wins: 4 points, a free catch/evolution and a Gym Badge
-If the challanger loses: 2 points
-If the Gym Leader wins: 4 points and a victory [two victories equal a free catch/evolution]
-If the Gym Leader loses: 2 points
-The referee will win 4 points

    Arena: Goldenrod City

A large, spacious city, Goldenrod has lost the majority of its population due to the introduction of cooler, bigger cities like Lilycove and Sootopolis. There are many places to explore; the department store, which has medicine (restoring 5%) and various status ailments (although these can only be used once by each battler). The rooftop of the Department Store is also handy for aerial battles.

Aside from that, there is an aquarium with many various sized pools, as well as wide spaces for non-water types such as dim corridors and staircases; The monorail tracks are high up from the battle and are long and thin; perfect for an all-out-duel, although electric attacks may attract the Magnet Train, which will slam into the battlers and deal 10% damage to each.

In the alleyways wild Pokemon lurk (such as Rattata, Raticate, Glameow, Meowth, Murkrow, and other alleyway-esque 'mon) and may attack; there may also be thugs and bikers in the city who fancy joining in the match.

There is a casino in the north, which is locked but can easily be broken into. Here there are large fountains and water features, gigantic staircases and long tables to brawl along. Here, all battlers can use pay day.

If we arrive in the Pokemoncenter, each battler heals by 5%HP and 5%Energy each round, but we can only stay there for up to 5 rounds.

These places are acessed by simply ordering the command "go to ___", flying, teleporting or, in some cases, digging.

We begin the match in the alleyways of Goldenrod. I will send out my Blaziken, Rudiasho [M].

OK then I'll send out Silvermane, my shiny male Arcanine.

Alright Colombia, start off by aiming an Aerial Ace at Rudiasho. Then hit how ever is closest with Ancientpower. After that shake things up a bit with Earthquake.

    ~Aerial Ace (@Rudiasho)~Ancientpower (@closest enemy)~Earthquake~

Sil, tag Zygoma with a Flamethrower. Then hit Rudiasho with an Aerial Ace of your own. Finaly, Teleport out of range of the Earthquake.

    ~Flamethrower (@Zygoma)~Aerial Ace (@Rudiasho)~Teleport~

Zygoma strike Arcanine with water pulse. Hit Aerocatyl with ice beam and disable the earthquake.

Rudi hit Arcanine with stone edge. Counter the aerial ace that Arcanine delivers and end with sky uppercut to strike Aerodactyl.

    Aerial Ace (@Rudiasho)~Ancientpower (@closest enemy)~Earthquake

    ===Round 1===

Here we are in Goldenrod City. We start here, in the central area where all other areas are accessible. Dragonis looks ready, Silvermane and Colombia, two Shiny Pokemon, looking overly existed as well.

Our Gym leader approaches from the west. Chris, with a wry little smirk, is joined by his Glalie and his Blaziken. It seems that Dragonis has his work cut out for him, but this is a Four on Four match!

    FIGHT!

A tentative start, with no one Pokemon making a break. That is until Colombia shot forward, screeching as she did. Rudiasho darted forward as well, welcoming the incoming pterosaur-though his goal was Silvermane. He could beat the flier there, right? His focus was unbuckled, and he seemed able to pull off the Stone Edge, but Colombia tagged him with a strong Aerial Ace. She was faster. Rudi crashed and rolled to a stop, shaking off that potent strike.

As Rudi flew back from the hit, he spotted an elemental battle taking place. Zygoma's Water Pulse was being struck down by Silvermane's Flamethrower. The successive blasts of fire hitting water caused a thick blanket of steam to form in the area around them. The result was to be a biting sting to whomever stepped close to the collision of those attacks for the rest of the round.

    Silvermane: -7E
    Colombia: -5E

    Rudiasho -8E/-11H
    Zygoma -6E

Standing back up, Rudi took a second. That Colombia hurt him worse than he thought. But with Colombia on the other side of both Zygoma and Silvermane, he could easily sprint in and whallop the dog..Or well, he could just wait as Silvermane sprinted in his direction, fangs bared. Silver lunged at him, and Ridiasho reached in grabbing those immense jaws. The pain from grabbing those jaws in a tricky aerial maneuver was excruciating, but he managed to fling the dog head over heels and cause him to crash into a window of a nearby home

Rudiasho watched Silvermane hurriedly get out of the home the way he came in. Turning to Zygoma now, he dosen't have it so easy. Colombia is making his life miserable. Tonnes of rocks are barraging the Ice type, sending him reeling. He's fighting them off with a barrage of Ice Beams. Wait..hold the presses. Colombia is down though, as her left wing is frozen! It seems a few of them made it though!

Silvermane: -5E/-20H (16 from Counter, 4 from crashing into window)
    Colombia: -7E/-15H

    Rudiasho: -6E/-8H
    Zygoma: -8E/-14H

Colombia though, dose'nt seem to need to fly for her next move. Raising her wings in defiance to the frost covering her left appendage, a tremor began to rumble and quake through the city center. Zygoma was closest, and was already on the offensive, psychedelic waves running alongside Colombia's mind slowly feeding her brain a wave pattern that disallowed usage of the move at hand! A few shards from that Ancient power used moments before did strike him though.

The tremor didn't reach Ridudiasho, and that was fortunate for him, as he ran over toward the downed avian. Unable to use her move fully, Colombia was left at the mercy of a shockingly focused Sky Uppercut that rattled her jaw and let her experience flight once again--if only momentarily. Rudi made sure to hit her so her frost covered wind was untouched.

Where was Silver in all of this? Well, due to the onset of a Earthquake, he Teleported on top of a house some yards away! From there, all he could do was watch as Colombia got beaten like a red-headed stepchild.

    Silvermane: 6E
    Colombia: -9E/-9H (E~Quake disabled for... 5 actions)

Zygoma: -5E/-5H (Was hit by Earthquake before it was fully disabled.)
    Rudiasho: -7E

    ===Stats===

    Chris 2.0 X X X X

    Rudiasho-M Blaziken--81/79%
    A tad hurt, but ok

    Zygoma-M Glalie--81/81%
    Hates rocks ><!!

    Dragonis X X X X

    Silvermane-M Arcanine--80/82%
    ;_; Sowwy Colombia

    Colombia-F Aerodactyl--76/79%
::Knows what chickens go though now before death...::

Before I post attacka I've a few things to point out:
-Zygoma is floating therefore earthquake wouldn't hit him, surely?
-Ancientpower is a weak rock-type attack; it's got a 60 base power and even if a rock type is using it it should never so as much as 15% damage. I would have thought 8/9% maximum.
-Incidentally are the rocks now littering the streets?
-Arcanine using teleport (well anything using it) would probably lose more energy than that, given the immense difficulty.
-I was a bit annoyed with the way you portrayed the attacks when two were used; I didn't expect stone edge to be cancelled out completely just because Rudi was hit with aerial ace. I already saw AA being ordered so if I'd known the attacks were going to 'clash' I wouldn't have bothered having him attack since it seems to have just been cancelled out.
-Similarly, with ancientpower/ice beam, I would have thought Zyg would have waited until after the onslaught of gigantic rocks before firing his attack.

Incidentally do we need to specify if we want an attack to be used AFTER our foes? ie: use water pulse after your opponent attacks?

However, I think given the number of issues I've raised that could murder your confidence or motivation so I'll also put down what I thought you did well:
-The tremors distance with earthquake was a very precise and acute detail that is never taken into account usually. But it should. Good work.
-Description was good, everything was easy to visualise.
-The layout was fantastic, really easy to understand. That's DL
-You reffed counter well, it's a bit of an odd move. But you handled things well.

    Hope I'm not being too...er...something.

This is EXACTLY why I wanted to ref this match Chris- so I could learn more.

-Zygoma is floating therefore earthquake wouldn't hit him, surely?
--I said the rocks from Ancient Power smacked into him from the tremor...but I did write that the Earthquake tremor hit him. HA I'm an idiot.

-Ancientpower is a weak rock-type attack; it's got a 60 base power and even if a rock type is using it it should never so as much as 15% damage. I would have thought 8/9% maximum.
Ice is weak to rock :O. I ref weaknesses as near to double damage. It usually does 5-7 for me, but since Glalie is weak to it-that raises it to 9-13%. Couple that with Aero being Rock/Flying-that's as added kick from STAB (2-3%)

-Incidentally are the rocks now littering the streets?
Yes, yes they are. I forgot to point that out.

-Arcanine using teleport (well anything using it) would probably lose more energy than that, given the immense difficulty.
That yer right about, that should say 9 energy actually, I didn't mess that one up, that's a Typo.

--That dosen't happen all the time Chris. But sometimes, when you are hit by a strong attack (Flying Type+ Weakness+ Incoming Rock-Bird smacks you--that would suck...even for a Fighter...), you really aren't going to try and attack afterwards, you need a moment to breathe. I do understand this point, and I do take it into account-like with Zygoma and Colombia's exchange....

-Similarly, with ancientpower/ice beam, I would have thought Zyg would have waited until after the onslaught of gigantic rocks before firing his attack.

If giant rocks are flying at you, are you gonna a) shoot them down and hope you can get a beam or two at your enemy or b) float there and watch them hit you. But I see your point here, I could have done that better..

Incidentally do we need to specify if we want an attack to be used AFTER our foes?
--Well no not really, I try to take common sense into account when I ref-like "Ok we're not just gonna stand here and get hit by Thunderwave." But if you feel that a situation calls for it, then go ahead-it'll guide my reffing better.

Incidentally-d'ya want me to re-ref the opening? I was kinda shaky about something in the match as well...so I wouldn't mind if ya demanded it of me. Only makes me stronger, ya know n_n!

But I'm glad you said something. I sometimes think people are a bit scared to state how they feel about reffings :O.

No I won't request that you re-write it - you explained yourself very thoroughly. Good to know about the double-damage, although if that is the case I would expect a countered Super effective aerial ace to do more damage than 20.

I was hesitant that I was a bit merciless in commenting on the last round but I do so for all the right reasons.

    Okay then! Let's post attacks.

Rudiasho begin with rock tomb on Arcanine; if you are sucessful in trapping Arcanine then use sky uppercut and then swords dance. If Arcanine is not trapped then use stone edge and earthquake. Counter any flying attacks.

    Rock Tomb [] -- Sky Uppercut []/Stone Edge [] -- Swords Dance []/Earthquake [Both]
    counter any flying attacks

Glalie hit Aerodactyl with ice beam again; if we can freeze its other wing, the better. Next IF Arcanine is rock tombed then use ice beam over the tomb to help seal it up, or else, if Arcanine is free, use water pulse on Arcanine and end with another ice beam to Aero. If you are struck first before using ice beam on your 1st or 3rd attack, avalanche instead for more damage.

    Ice Beam/Avalanche [] -- Ice Beam [The Tomb]/Water Pulse [] -- Ice Beam/Avalanche []

Alright Colombia, hit Zygoma with Flamethrower while trying to stay out of range for his attacks. Then trap him in a Whirlwind, hopfuly with wind will suck up the rocks on the ground to pummel him. Even if the whirlwind doesn't pick up the rocks, add some yourself with Rock Throw.

    ~Flamethrower~Whirlwind~Rock Throw~ (all @ Zygoma)

Sil, you'll focus on Rudi this round. Get in close with Extremspee. Try to stay as close to him as you can so he'll get traped in the Rock Tomb aswell. If he is traped with you, let him break the Tomb with his Uppercut before hitting him with Aerial Ace. If he's not traped then Teleport out of the Tomb. After that either Roar to disrupt his Dancing, or Mimic the Earthquake.

    ~Extremspeed~Aerial Ace/Teleport~Roar/Mimic~ (all @ Rudi)

    ===Round 2===

Wlecome back folks. Dl here, taking shelter atop an awning not too far from the battle. We're in Goldenrod-watching as Chris, our non-compassionate Gym Leader take on Dragonis!

Knowing that he had to quickly make a move to get back there and help Colombia, Silvermane dashed off the roof. The insta-second his paws touched the floor-he became a streaking blitzkrieg of fury, all dashing at Rudi. The speed Silver attained was amazing, but Rudi wasn't frightened in the least. Grabbing rocks that were littered in the area, thanks to Colombia, he flung them with extreme accuracy at the incoming hound.

Silvermane used his speed to try and get in close, dodging as best he could, but whence he was finally within range to strike, the rest of the Rock Tomb fell upon him in one hefty shot by Rudi, causing him more damage since he crashed into rocks head-on. Rudi blocked as some of the medium boulders rolled back toward him, but nothing substantial to worry about. Silvermane was trapped.

On the other side of the central square, Colombia hobbled about toward Zygoma, jaws glowing with embers. Zygoma floated upwards to evade, but the incoming Flames caught up to her. Zygoma though kept moving, the flames only licking her sides a bit, not a full hit-but a hit nonetheless. As she reached the apex of her ascent, she snikcered---had it all been a ruse?

A rumbling came from Zygoma as she floated higher in the sky, reaching the fourth floor of the department store in seconds. She may have not being hit by flame, but it would help later on it seemed..O jeez! COME ON! :ives off the awning as HUGE Ice Crystals shoot down from the sky, raining down on the now unable to evade Colombia.::

The Avalanche left a thick pile of Ice and snow at the western end of the Square...along with an Aerodactyl tail sticking out of it.

Silvermane: -8E/-20H (12 from Rock Tomb, 8 from running into the attack at that speed.)
    Colombia: -8E/-30H

Rudiasho -7E/-2H (Plink plink from boulders)
    Zygoma -11E/-9H

Colombia dug herself out of the Ice-rubble, obviously disoriented and cold. Shivering, her form would be met with an disheartening sight. Zygoma left from her lofty post, and was charging up another spirited attack toward a ...pile of rocks?

Rudi was watching the rocks awe well, not hearing the sounds of struggle...so his eyes turned toward Colombia. Catching sight that the chicken kicker was after her, Colombia hobbled a bit up the Ice floe, and began to use all her strength to flap her wings. However, Rudi got there first, and made sure to send her to the top of the floe, that Uppercut slamming Colombia's jaw shut.

Dizzy and encumbered with ice, Colombia raised up, unable to stop the Ice Beam from slamming into the Rock Tomb The Beam seemed to create a brilliant glaring flash upon the rocks right before it hit...creating an Igloo out of them-with no exit.

But what the hell? Is Silvermane alive?

Silvermane: -9E (Yes he is, if you can tell :p.)
    Colombia: -10H

    Rudiasho: -7E
    Zygoma: -8E

Rudi cackled in glee. His competition was nothing -dismantled and frozen beyond compare! He jumped down the floe, as Colombia came to rather quickly. The chicken kicker began to Dance in victory, and Zygoma charged up another spirited attack to render Zygoma helpless...

Until the mighty roar echoed across the emptied city. Windows buckled and cracked in the nearby vicinity, and my damned Peach Martini glass broke >>...and most notably, Rudi stopped dancing. That Roar couldn't be Silvermane...he was trapped!!!

Zygoma-though not a target, looked back as well. where DID that come from? Both scoured the arena, and then turned their gaze up, toward the sun. Blazing embers seemed to surround the psuedo-legendary hound of fire-as he seemed to be released from the sun itself. Landing back upon the battlefield, the echoing Roar could be heard across the sky once again-striking fear into the heart of Rudi, usurping his dance of strength...and making the chicken kicker back away..hastily.

...Zygoma was a tad bit nervous, and turned back to try and finish off Colombia hastily, but the Roar had given Colombia enough time to assert herself atop the floe. Zygoma turned around to receive a faceful of Rock AGAIN! Unable to block this time, Zygoma flew back after the brunt of the Throwing was hit...

That Rock-Bird was pissing her off, and she was going to make it bleed. Both Rudi and Silvermane noted a chill sweep across the area-this one much more intense than last time, as Zygoma summoned the pure arctic chill to encumber and literally freeze Colombia back into what she once was-a relic of the past. The blast of cold that came around Colombia shocked her system, this was far too much...

but the Avalanche drowned out any sort of resistance Colombia could have given.....

    Silvermane: -4E
    Colombia: -5E/-30H

    Zygoma: -11E/-7H (Stupid Rocks)
Rudiasho: -5E (Is very hesitant about attacking Silvermane.)

Alright Colombia, hang in there! Use Roost to restore some health. Then hit Zygoma with another Rock Throw. After that try hitting Rudi with a Wing Attack.

Sil, start off by hitting Zygoma with Flamethrower. Then aim a Dragon Pulse at Rudi. Finally hit Rudi with all your Strength.

Good work guys! Finish that Aerodactyl off; Zygoma use blizzard on Aero, then use avalanche after rock throw and end with water pulse.

Rudi use double team, then stone edge and end with counter.

    Double Team [] -- Stone Edge [] -- Counter []

    Blizzard -- Ice Beam -- Ice Beam/Avalanche [All @]

DL: In double battles I believe the round ends when one Pokemon faints, because two need to be out at any one time.

I'm not messing this one up either..

    Gym Battle

    ===Rules===

-If the challanger loses: 2 points
-If the Gym Leader wins: 4 points and a victory [two victories equal a free catch/evolution]

These places are accessed by simply ordering the command "go to ___", flying, teleporting or, in some cases, digging.

    ===Round 3===

    Welcome back folks.

This is round three, and I would have a recap for you, if Colombia wasn't already hobbling near to my new viewing locale-atop a lightpost. She's Roosting next to the warm light the lightpost is giving off. She looks so cozy..its really a shame that I gotta go now!

Silvermane strikes direly fast though, before Zygoma was able to complete her Bllizard attempt, a series of flames crashed into her left side, thereby giving Colombia the time needed to Roost away alot of that lost health. But Zygoma isn't done, no. She floats back up from the snow dune she dove into to quell the heat and began charging up a second Ice attack.....o crap..

::Jumps off the lightpost as a Blizzard sears the air and crashes into Colombia-knocking her down on the ground. She seems ok though, moving a wing in defiance.::

Meanwhile-while Zygoma floats closer to the roosting avian, Rudiasho darts in on Silvermane, glowing a mixed set of colors. Unsure what to expect from Silvermane, Rudi feels that the tactics given by his master may help quell the fear in his heart, and so he carries them out without fear. In a second, Silvermane was now surrounded by 5 Rudiasho.

    Silvermane: -8E
    Colombia: -35E/+45H/-25H

    Rudiasho: -4E
    Zygoma -10E/-16H

No more frozen than when she sat down, Colombia jumped up and screeched, announcing her return to this fight. While unable to take to the air, she chickenwalked (..Bwahaha) a bit until she was in launching distance of Zygoma. Zygoma backed upward, charing a second balance of Ice power.

Before it was fired though, he began to float left and right, trying to evade the Rock's being flung at him. That bird was going to feel the wrath of Jack Frost! A few rocks clipped Zygoma--exactly what he wanted. Colombia realized all too late what occurred, and shrieked in fear.

The wisps of wind that heralded the incoming Avalanche was all too familiar..Colombia folded her wings over her head, as the thunderous roar of the icy fury fell upon her. Zygoma seemed sadistically happy about sending this avian back to the Ice Age...

Silvermane though, was having his own problems. The Blaziken Basters around him were making life hard., Jumping up immediately at their incoming attacks, Silvermane fired off a quick Dragon Pulse. Two clones dissipated, since they were in range of the blast. Rudi, relieved the attack missed, bolstered some confidence and managed to pull off his Stone Edge, smashing Silvermane while he was landing.

Rudi heard the onset of the Avalanche and turned around, quietly watching if Colombia would ever find her way out.....But alas, the roar of the ancient was not heard.

Silvermane: -7E/-26H (21 from Stone Edge, 5 from hitting pavement forcefully)
    Colombia: -5E/-30H

    Rudiasho: -10E(2 clones left)
Zygoma: -8E/-5H (Was able to dodge a few.)

    ===Round 4===

A new challenger approaches. Sasuke enters the abandoned city, stretching his legs a bit. No need for introductions though, he gets right in the mix by running toward his targets, Rudi. The chicken kickers spy the new fighter and smirks. Someone to test their prowess on! But Sasuke totally Fakes them out and roundhouses the real one from 8 FEET AWAY! Rudi spins to a crash landing, near the western pile of snow.

Zygoma meanwhile, looked at Silvermane, whom stared up toward the sun. The mighty sun, which warmed the souls of all those with icy hearts....Zygoma didn't like that, and threw a slew of Water Pulses at Silvermane in retaliation. But there was the sun. Damn it all!

    Silvermane: -5E/-5H
    Sasuke: -3E

    Rudiasho: -3H
    Zygoma: -6E

Sun is out for the next 5 actions!

Rudi got up, spotting the first signs of raised heat-snow melting into water. Jumping onto his feet, he turned toward Silver, and jumped vertically. Fist was charged with energy, that would be felt....or would have. Silvermane had ran toward him, roaring with the fury of the Sun backing him. Spooked by that crazy hound, Rudi landed with BOTH fists to the ground-causing a very strong Earthquake anyway! Silver was thrown to his side, being so close to the epicenter of the quake.

Zygoma levitated a bit to ensure no debris crashed into him. Sasuke lost his balance, and tried to compensate by stretching his legs, but that caused him to fall a bit. Using the fall, he was sure to kick Zygoma in the face! In retaliation to that swift kick the entrance of an Ice Beam could be seen from the left, and Sasuke was hit down the block, rolling to a stop at an alley.

Rising to his feet, Sasuke looked down the alley. Apparently the locals don't lie all these Earthquakes, and they were going to show their...appreciation. Grimers lunged out of the alley, boiling mad. A stench swept over the fighters, alerting them that something was coming...

    Silvermane: -5E/-20H
    Sasuke: -2E/-15H (6% E-quake residual tremor)

Rudiasho: -9E Spooked a lil bit.
    Zygoma: -8E/-5H

Grimers coming to "watch" the fight...Strong Smell emanating from the ground.

With a new audience, Rudi backed away from the alley he was near, now moving closer to Zygoma. This meant that now Zygoma and Rudi were headed to the west side of the central area, and the Department store was in that general direction. While Rudi ran over to Zygoma, he would be struck from the back by Silvermane. The hit sent Rudi to his knees in pain, it cut his back..

The sewer grate slid off, revealing a Muk that was PLENTY pissed about the Earthquake...

Sasuke spotted the Muk, and moved in fast to sprint past him, and kick off a pole to gain enough height to perform a screw Blaze Kick on Zygoma. With Rudi down for the moment, Zygoma was caught off guard and smashed hard into the ground by the fire-imbued kick.

Rudi got back up and ran over to Zygoma, and made sure to axe-slash Sasuke over his head with an Aerial Ace. Sasuke stumbled back from the blow, keeping his hands up.

Zygoma rose, just as Silver yelped, the Muk had tackled him and was trying to smother him! Seeking the opportunity, he floated over and drenched the poor hounds' spirits with another Water Pulse! Muk noticed Zygoma, and now tried for him, but Zygoma floated away hurriedly-unwittingly causing Muk to follow.

...Silvermanes' body was then taken by the Grimer. Hurry Dragonis, recall your Pokemon before they eat him or..something!!!!!

Silvermane: -6E/-10H (5% from Muk smothering)
    Sasuke: -7E/-9H

    Rudiasho: -6E/-8H
    Zygoma: -6E/-28H

Grimers block off eastern half of central area, Muk chasing fighters. Will try to smother them (5%)

These places are accessed by simply ordering the command "go to ___", flying, teleporting or, in some cases, digging.

    ===Round 5===

A new challenger approaches again. Joining the slew of fighting types on the field is a master Gallade! Jay gleefully runs in to join the fight, jumping left and right as he heads toward his target, Rudi.

Rudi however, is running toward Jay, and indirectly, heading south of the current area. Fast. Jay doesn't understand it-and doesn't get a chance to as Rudi slashes him backwards with a Tiger Claw Night Slash. With Jay dazed for the moment, Rudi continues to speed away, hoping he can make it into that Casino...

Jay gets up, thinking that to be just plain rude. He watches Rudi, and holds his chest, focusing his energy into his arms as he performs a Kata to vitalize his body for the upcoming fight...

Sasuke now surrounds Zygoma and all of his clones begin to goad and poke at Zygoma, trying to confuse him even further with fake kicks and taunts. Zygoma just can't take the pressure anymore, and closes his eyes. A swelling of arctic energy builds in his carapace, but soon it turns warm.

Warmer, until the light radiating from Zygoma begins to blind Sasuke and co. Sasuke raises his arms to shield his eyes from the light-Jay turns around, noting Zygoma's hyperescalating color, and suddenly realizes why Rudi was so hard pressed to escape. Jay now makes a break for it-but its a little too late...

Muk reaches Sasuke and Zygoma, but doesn't get it.

    Baby Jesus cried.

And the earth stood still for moment, as a cloud of white slowly ascended from Goldenrod. The intense wave of Explosive energy ripped through the west part of town, breaking windows and crashing into homes, causing some to fall over. Poles bent and trees were ripped out. Rudi found shelter in front of the Casino, just as the wave came roaring in. Wood planks that boarded up the Casino were blasted off, giving Rudi ample time to dive in and cower in fear of the power Zygoma expelled.

Ripple after Ripple crashed into Sasuke's body hurtling him farther away from the battle than he cared to be. Jay received a much lesser abuse, being hit by a wall from a house right as the ebbing waves crashed into his backside. As he lied on the ground bleeding, a second wall crashed on Jay, leaving him in darkness as the waves continued.

    ---.0000000000000000000028 days later---

Rudi quickly recovers after the sounds of explosion fade off. Buried under pieces of roof and mortar, he frees himself, and walks out into the aftermath that was Goldenrod's western sector. Kicking over what used to be part of a house, he found a squished Muk. Ew. Looking at what he could only guess to be ground zero-there were icy shards sticking up from the ground. Good going Zygoma. Good going.

A few rumbles could be heard, before Rudi received a surprise! Jay bashed free of the rubble that crashed over him, and was ROYALLY pissed off at the chicken kicker.

Jay: -12E/-74H Atk raised (53 from Explosion radius, 7 from falling debris, 14 from Night Slash)
    Sasuke: -4E/-85^HP

Rudiasho: -11E/-6H (Energy: 5 for Agility, 6 for Night Slash...Health: 6 for falling debris that hit Rudi while hiding,
    Zygoma: -13E/Gone.

Explosion blew up part of the western area. Houses are destroyed. The Dept store has no windows, and the Casino can be accessed.

Explosion has 4 waves for me, each doing 46-37-28-19 damage from the epicenter and weakening as they fly out. S'why Jay got ripped a new one, he got hit by a few waves before he was crushed under walls, if you needed to know.

The round should have ended as soon as Zygoma fainted; since it is a double battle 4 Pokemon need to be out at any one time. I think explosion might have done too much damage but it's an attack that everyone refs differently and one that I feel is often hard to try and peg down with damage.

Can you edit it so as that the round ends when Zyg's explosion finishes? Otherwise you did a pretty good job DL

Yeah Explosion sucks-and I try to take into account defenses of Pokemon too, so it gets all sorts of screwy. Edited and energy/Hp values fixed.

EDIT: I have no idea why the edit didn't save...but in any event, I'm aware now. I fixed it this time, Chris, you release, and then you Dragonis

Right then. I'll send out Lumen my [M] Noctowl.

Noctowl use silverwind, then aerial ace and end with air slash.

Rudi relax, then use flamethrower and then night slash

Alright Jay, hit Rudi with a Psycho Cut. Then hit Lumen with a Thunderbolt. End things with a Psychic blast at Rudi.

    Arena: Goldenrod City

A large, spacious city, Goldenrod has lost the majority of its population due to the introduction of cooler, bigger cities like Lilycove and Sootopolis. In the alleyways wild Pokemon lurk (such as Rattata, Raticate, Glameow, Meowth, Murkrow, and other alleyway-esque 'mon) and may attack; there may also be thugs and bikers in the city who fancy joining in the match.

    ===Round 6===

This match has now turned bad. Jay quietly takes a few steps back, as Rudi advances on him. Both Pokemon are still reeling from the Explosion last round.

To make matters worse for Jay, Sasuke has disappeared, and instead of aid, he gets a new problem in the release of Lumin, a Noctowl who's out for blood. Not fearing his own end, Jay valiantly stands to the ready, eyes on both his competition as they encircle him.

Ridui then crouches, allowing Jay to bounce over to the side. Deeming Rudi no threat right now, Jay decides its time to end his contribution in this match. Lumin though, had other plans, and Jay was hard pressed to block the incoming wind headed his way. Amidst the silver streaks that blew by him, Jay performed a sharp reverse-axe slice. The air rippled and from the phantom Wind shot a pulsating scythe of energy. Rudi squawked and tried to avoid the Psycho Cut, but was caught dead center by the powered up attack.

    [color=pink]
    Rudi: -24H/+6E
    Lumin: 6E

    Jay: -7E/-7H

Finally free from the blast of wind from Lumin, Jay shook the flakes off his body, and noticed Rudi scrambling to his feet. Fearing a double team, he dives for Lumin, hands crackling. Lumin flutters backwards exceptionally fast, and then swoops forward at the diving Jay. Jay couldn't be happier, as he released the Thunderbolt from his outstretched hands-snaring Lumin in a web of lightning.

Lumin shrieked in pain, but was able to pull off his move-though it was definitely weakened by the onset of electricity clenching up his muscles. Jay didn't mind the weakened hit, but his hands covered his face as flames began to erupt on and around him. Rudi had snuck up behind those two, and unleashed a blast of flames to subdue the fighter.

    Jay: -8E/-9H

    Rudiasho: -8E
    Lumin: -5E/-12H

Jay stay huddled on the ground for a moment, as Lumin started to shake off the feeling of electrocution. Wings working again, Lumin took off toward the sky, intent on staying as far away as possible from Jay while he performed his last contribution.

Rudi didn't want to take any chances with this Gallade, and immediately came across Jay's back with a swift Slash of darkness. Jay glared upward and unleashed a fierce Psychic from his head, throwing Rudi skyward and away from him. Weary and pained, Jay turned to spot Lumin, but only saw a white streak of wind that came directly for him.

Jay flung himself skyward to evade, but was tagged by the cyclone streak. He fell with the blast, lying upon a clean slate of concrete. in front of the remains of the fountain. As the water still pumped free, Jay's body would be washed clean of this battle.

Jay: -8E/23H (14 from Night Slash 9 from Air Slash)

    Rudi: -7E/-15H
    Lumin: -5E

    Good work guys. Thanks Dragonis for the match; sorry my explosion tipped the scales a bit. I do feel slightly bad -_-;;

DL you've been a superb ref. You've made mistakes but corrected them, learned from them and become much better because of it. Well done.
