As I may or may not have said earlier, I'm pretty clueless about Digimon as a whole, so feel free to yell at me and point my stupid ass in the right direction if/when I screw up.

Name: Chase Metolly (pronounced 'muh-TULL-ee')
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Appearance: Chase is a rather small guy for his age, standing at 5'10" and weighing 165 pounds. He's not muscular, but he does have some meatiness to his arms and especially his legs, which are the strongest parts of his body. He has chocolate-brown eyes and short blonde hair, which spills out around a white headband he wears. His skin is a bit darker than that of other Caucasias', giving him a year-round tan. He dresses casually, often in a plain T-shirt, jeans that are torn on one or both knees, and a pair of white running shoes.
Personality: Chase is a shy, self-conscious individual who is kind to everyone he meets, mostly due to fear of rejection. Even the most fleeting of introductions and meetings are enough to cause him alarm, which often leads to broken speech and a shy, downward glance that he later berate himself over. Once Chase becomes calm enough around someone, though, he'll watch their back and protect them with his life.
Unfortunately, as kind as Chase is, he's just that: kind. Everyone he meets or talks to sees only his kind side; he keeps any hints of sadness or anger pent up inside himself. This is where things start to go bad... (More on that later.)
Element: Ice
D-Scanner: Unlike the other saviors, Chase's scanner is THREE colors: its base is an icy blue, but the rest of the scanner is split in two: on the right, it's a snow-white color, and on the left, it's a frigid, eerie navy color, like the darkest depths of space.
History: Chase was raised in America early in his life: He lived in a small house with his parents, constantly sneaking out to go to the park nearby and just go wild. He didn't really know why, but he simply loved to run, kick, climb... His parents called him a 'monkey' on many occasions, and while Chase usually got in trouble for sneaking out, it never stopped him from doing it again. Until one day...
Chase came home late one afternoon at the age of eight, finding his parents to be nowhere in sight. He stayed home by himself, waiting for hours, until finally his mother came home, sobbing hysterically. Chase's father had been hit by a truck earlier that day and killed. He hadn't been watching the traffic at a busy intersection. But why?
Because he was looking for his son.
Chase never quite got over the horrible ordeal; it was months before his mother seemed to forgive her son. Chase became introverted and totally obedient to his mother, and soon to his teachers and any other authority figure, and finally almost everyone. Never a no came from his mouth - just a forced, bright smile and a submissive nod, and he went and did as he was told. He wouldn't say boo to anyone for the longest time, instead just letting his negative emotions build up until they reached the breaking point...
Chase and his mother moved to Japan when Chase was 16, the two of them seeking a fresh start. Though life seemed to improve after the move, it was too late to salvage Chase's sanity: Though kind on the outside, a dark entity had developed within his body, his bottled-up anger and pain amalgamating into a conscious form known as 'Grim.' Why 'Grim?' Because if pushed too far, Chase will release the monster. And if that happens, I'll give you one guess as to whom the bell is tolling for.
Weapon/Ability: As one might suspect, Chase abhors fighting; however, when he or his friends or relations are threatened, Chase and Grim actually combine themselves to form a much braver - but also much more violent - Chase; in this state, or as purely Grim, his weapon appears. It is a bizarre weapon, not a sickle as one may expect, but rather a seemingly normal-looking sword... with a blade coated in ice. The ice is cold enough to freeze most anything it touches; the freezing is immediately followed with the sword's full swing, which shatters whatever it strikes.
Relationships: He'll take to Karry almost instantly (Maybe he already has - I'll have to discuss it with H_L.); everyone else, he'll be either shy around at first or he'll try to avoid, depending on how much he likes (or dislikes) them.
Other: Grim is a curious entity - while powerful and created by feelings of rage and sadness, he won't (or can't) take over Chase's body without the boy's consent, which he is only given when Chase's patience wears out and his anger clouds his judgement - an after-effect of Chase's vast patience. Chase can switch between his three personalities willingly, but he has trouble switching back prematurely (like in the midst of battle, or a slump of depression, etc.). If he becomes sad, he allows Grim to take over, but the dark being will not fight. He'll instead simply live up to his namesake.
Spirit:
Name: Golemon
Type: Vaccine
Element: Ice
Appearance: Golemon is a being made of ice, but this isn't at all evident by simply looking at him. He stands at exactly 6,' and looks much like Chase. However, this is merely a ruse: he appears human only as a result of bending light through his crystal body, filling his features with the right color. His eyes are shiny and totally blue, like small mirrors, and his hair is concealed by a mane of icicle-like spines, like Sonic the Hedgehog has. His fists are larger than they should be and are clearly made of ice or snow. His torso, sleeves, and legs are covered by some sort of shiny black material: literal 'black ice,' and his feet are flat and rather broad, allowing him to slide easily across ice (or most other terrains, as he can freeze the ground under his feet and create his own 'skate-path,' Iceman-style)
Attacks:
1. Ice Breakers: Golemon's icy fists reshape into anything he desires, provided it is the same mass and can function with only ice. This obviously excludes atom bombs and the like, but it does include his sword, maces, daggers, keys (on his fingers, obviously), scissors, and more. Whether the rest of his body can be effected this way is currently unknown.
2. Heat-Seeking Cold Wave: Another Sonic the Hedgehog reference, Golemon curls into a ball of ice studded with huge spines all over; he fires these spines, which hone in on targets and impale them.
3. Zero Kelvin: Golemon concentrates his Ice power into a ball, beam, or wave of pure Ice energy at -273.15 degrees Celsius. Anything struck by this attack will have its very atomic structure frozen at Absolute Zero, and will be stuck that way until it thaws or is shattered. Golemon can also spontaneously revoke this maneuver, so if he were to accidentally strike a teammate, he could instantly 'thaw' them. Repeated use and un-use of this move quickly depletes Golemon's energy.
Other: Much like the Pokemon Regice, Golemon's body, though made of ice, is extremely durable and won't crack, break, or melt easily. He can move through ice, just as Nagendramon and Ranmon can through earth and water, but anything else, he'll simply break through if he can.
Chase
Footsteps slammed against the pavement at high speed.
The young man dashed across the grassy plains not too far from his home at a speed that most humans had no hope of acheiving, his eyes squeezed shut (Making it much harder to run.).
"Stupid stupid stupid!" the teen scolded himself in a surprisingly young voice for his age. "Chase, you baka! How could you make such an idiot of yourself!? You knew how important this was...!"
[-------FLASHBACK-------]
Chase sighed as he looked at the young woman applying for college. No more than 15 or 16, it seemed impossible that she could be applying to college, and yet there she was.
But this wasn't what Chase was preoccupied with - he was more focused on the girl herself.
She was a gorgeous blend of Japanese and American beauty, her golden hair acting as a perfect complement for her ocean-colored, almond-shaped eyes. Though the look on her face was hard and emotionless, something about those eyes seemed to draw Chase in... They were like bottomless pools of the purest water.
Pure water... Said to exorcise evil; to fill even the darkest soul with light... Chase wished he could be immersed in their gaze forever.
It was love at first sight. He had to talk to her.
Acting before he could think, Chase waited for her to step off the line; as she began to walk away, Chase approached her, following her a short distance before he finally worked up the confidence to speak:
"Um... Excuse me..."
She just kept walking.
Chase gulped and tried again.
"M... Ma'am?"
Again, nothing.
Did she not speak English? Chase's stomach turned at this thought. Even after 4 years, he couldn't speak more than a few sentences of Japanese. If she didn't understand him...
"Misu?"
She stopped that time, turning around slowly to face Chase.
"Oh, were you talking to me?" she asked, looking at Chase much like she looked at the man she was giving her application to.
Chase turned beet-red.
"Um... Y-yes..." he stuttered, trying his hardest to not look down at the floor like he usually did. "I, uh... Well, I just... I just noticed you seemed kind of young to be applying for college..."
"Young...?" the girl replied, apparently amused by his statement. "You come from the United States, don't you?"
Chase was a bit taken aback by her bluntness (or was it her correctness?), but he nodded slightly.
"Y-yes... My name's Chase Metolly. I just recently moved to Japan..."
The girl smiled.
"It shows." she said in a half-joking, half-serious way. "In this country, I'm the proper age to enroll for college. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got much to do. Arigatou."
With that, she turned and walked away.
"But... Wait! I didn't even get your n-"
"Karry Kento." her fleeting voice replied, before she walked out the door and vanished.
[-------END FLASHBACK-------]
Chase shook his head as he ran, clouds of dust kicking up behind him.
'OK, OK, keep it together Chase.' he thought. 'You'll be home in a few minutes; you'll be able to sort out your thoughts and think of a-'
"AAAGH!!!"
Chase cried out as his foot caught what felt like a patch of ice and flew out behind him, sending him slamming down on his stomach and skidding a few feet across the grass.
"...Ouch..." he mumbled, lifting his head and shaking it to clear the cobwebs out.
Chase slowly pushed himself up into a sitting position and rubbed his slightly-scraped belly.
"Well, that was unpleasant..." he muttered, eyes scanning the grass until they fell on what he had slipped on.
It was a floppy disk, clearly outdated and a bit dirty, but otherwise, in perfect shape. It was a shimmering sky-blue color, almost glowing in fact.
"What... the...?"
Chase reached out and picked up the object.
'What's something like this doing out here...?' he thought. 'I wonder if it's worth anything...?'
Curiosity peaked, Chase decided to take the disk home and do some research on it.
But when he tried to get up, he realized that his legs had gone numb.
'What the...?!' Chase's heart began to race. His arms had followed, save for the hand gripping the disk. Then his whole body; he fell over onto the grass, his breathing and eye movement the only signs he was even alive.
'Oh God, oh God, oh God...' Chase thought. his eyes forcing themselves shut despite his best efforts to resist. As his eyes finally pulled themselves all the way shut, a single thought crossed his mind:
'I'm going to die...'
But then, another thought crossed his mind. It wasn't his thought. It wasn't Grim's. It was the voice of another, calling out to him:
"Child of Ice, heed our call..."
