    RESULTS TABLE

    Current Scores/40

    Ultimate Charizard: 37
    Dragonis: 32
    MeLoveGhosts: 35

    Weasel Overlord: 36
    The Blue Avenger: 36
    Blademaster: 34

    Round Three: Double Appeals
Get ready to double up because in Round 3 you are using two Pokemon for your appeal. Each Pokemon uses 3 attacks each but in order to score high you need to use them together. Work with both your Pokemon for the best results! Pick your Pokemon carefully; contrast can work wonders, like electric and water, but rock and bug is a bit unusual. Two Pokemon of similar types also work well but don't do something with two Pokemon that one can achieve on its own! Make sure its the right choice - you'll need these two Pokemon in Round 4, too.

Ok then! In any order please, let's see your double appeals!

For this round I'll send out Hailee, my female Weavile and Jay, my shiny Gallade.

Alright guys start off by staring each other down with Leer (Hailee) and Mean Look (Jay). Then Hailee I want you to throw an Ice Shard attack at Jay while he launches a Focus Blast at you. After that I want you to use Night Slash to cut through his Blast at the same time he uses Psyco Cut to slash through your attack.

Ok for this one...its Phanpy and Bulbasaur (both M).

Ok, were going to have to start out slow. Phanpy use Sunny day then go into a rollout and charge towards Bulbasaur.

Next up Bulbasuar, Use Vinewhip and lay your vines down your back, almost like a Ramp. As soon as Phanpy is on your vines Bulbasaur use your strength and Phanpy's momentum to Catapult Phanpy high into the air, dissapearing in the bright sun

Once your airborne Phanpy, keep spinning and use Watergun to spray the whole arena with light rain while Bulbasaur launches Bullet Seed up around you and uses Seed Bomb to make them explode like fireworks.

    Bulbasaur - Vinewhip/Bullet Seed/Seed Bomb
    Phanpy - Sunny Day/Rollout/Watergun

(Got a little creative with the meaning of Seed Bomb, hope thats ok. Hmm is it me or have i only used basic evo's so far?)

If nothing else works, a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through.

Ok, I choose my genderless Claydol (courtesy due Chris), Mirah and my male Charmander, Roger. Up and down.

Ok, Roger start by using Dig to burrow down and then a two meters to the left. Then Mirah create a Rock Tomb above the hole Roger dissapeared in. Don't stop, shoot an Icebeam over the rocky tomb. Ok, Roger and Mirah get ready. Mirah you levitate higher and then drop yourself onto the frozen tomb with Giga Impact. Then Roger as soon as Mirah reaches the tomb, burst from under the ground by combining Overheat with Dragonrage!

Roger: Dig ~ Overheat + Dragonrage
Mirah: Rocktomb ~ Icebeam ~ Giga Impact

    Right, I is here.

    So, I'll be using Kusairisuishou my shiny Sceptile{F}. Kusair for short and my other Poké is Darkwind, my Weavile{F}

Both of you, get some space between you. Then Darkwind you run at Kusair and use Quick Attack just as she launches you so you go upwards as high as you can. Kusair, when she gets to you use a Seismic Toss to launch her up into the air. Darkwind, I want you to turn and face downward and when you get at the apex of your climb and fire a Dark Pulse, Kusair you fire a Energy Pulse up at it. Then Darkwind you use a Faint Attack to get down to the ground safely while you Kusair use a Leaf Storm to surround the to atatck so when they meet and exploud the leaves go flying everywhere and drift to the ground.

    Darkwind: Quick Attack/Dark Pulse/Faint Attack
    Kusair: Seismic Toss/Energy Pulse/Leaf Storm

Okay OzCorsola! Aqua Ring in the air! OzStar! Ice Beam it into a beautiful halo of ice!

Then, OzCorsola, keep it afloat with a Psychic. OzStar, blast a dazzling Confuse Ray into it.

OzStar, finish by having the aqua ring surrounded with Swift Stars! OzCorsola, let the ring fall around you and OzStar, but shoot off a Power Gem to surround the ring as it falls.

It'll bathe you all with residual sparkliness!

    Yeah, that didn't happen. Sorry.

Okay, I'll be using my male Gengar, Turner Grey, and my male Umbreon, Pitch.

Pitch, start by using Swift to shoot stars into the air. Grey, you hold them in place with Psychic.
Next, Pitch, darken up the place and create synthetic night with Moonlight. Grey, keep holding those stars.
Finally, Grey, let the stars go and fire some Will-o-Wisps amongst them to give us some shooting stars. Pitch, use Wish to put some more shooting stars up there as well.

    Grey: Psychic ~ Psychic ~ Will-o-Wisp
Pitch: Swift ~ Moonlight ~ Wish

Not at all, but if the appeals or moves used by said Pokemon are similar, you won't be able to score as high marks. If you want my advice, go for a completely different Pokemon.

D'aw, suck...! >< OK, guess we're going for Plan B, then...

I choose my Rotom(N), Psycho Plasm (Plaz for short), and my Metagross(N), Sir Grodus.

OK, guys, we're gonna try and combine your electric and mechanical characteristics to simulate a computer virus. Bear with me, gang - this is a long one.

Plaz, hide behind Grodus so you're out of the crowd's line of sight; Grodus, you start off by conjuring a Light Screen in front of you and hiding behind it, so you look like your on a computer monitor, just kinda chilling, waving to the crowd... Whatever. Then, Plaz, you drift around the screen with Grodus and use Double Team to 'fill the screen' with Rotoms, so you look like a virus that's spreading. But stay where you are - don't switch positions with any of the clones: Grodus needs to know where the real you is for the end of the Appeal.

Then, Grodus, you make a Scary Face, like a computer that's spazzing out, while Plaz and his virus clones 'overloads the monitor' with Thunder Wave's sparks and bolts and whatnot.

Finally, Grodus, use a Brick Break to destroy the sparking Light Screen; be sure to punch through the real Plaz so you don't destroy any of the clones. Then, drop and play dead while Plaz and the clones fly out, scattering an Ominous Wind like smoke rising from the shattered monitor, so all that's left is shards of the Screen, a plume of 'smoke,' and a very in-need-of-maintainence-looking Grodus.

Move (Grodus): Light Screen, Scary Face, Brick Break (then play dead)
Move (Plaz): (after revealing itself) Double Team, Thunder Wave, Ominous Wind

Well, I don't know about Drew but November has, it's safe to say, been the busiest month of my entire life.

Apologies are strewn at EVERYONE'S feet, cos the weasel is too shite to be able to get her appeal done on time. As it is, this will probably be awful, lol. My brain doesn't seem to want to work out an appeal. But here goes nothing!

For this, I shall be using my shiny male Ambipom, Thom Yorke, and my less shiny female Tropius, Arith.

Okay, Arith, first use Growth to increase your size! Make yourself more tree-like! Thom, I want you to use Agility to scamper up Arith, try to steal her fruit!
Arith, then shake Thom off your face with a Strength! Thom, curl into a ball as she shakes you into the air with Defence Curl.
And finally, Arith, shoot two Bullet Seeds at Thom as he falls from the sky! Thom, use Double Hit to smack the seeds away from you and finish off on the ground, in front of Arith.

Arith: ~Growth ~Strength (to shake Thom into the sky) ~Bullet Seed (to fire two seeds)
Thom: ~Agility (scamper up Arith to try and steal her fruit) ~Defence Curl (curl into a graceful, streamlined ball) ~Double Hit (to destroy the two seeds)

    THE GRAND FESTIVAL 2007
    ROUND THREE
    DOUBLE APPEALS

Halfway through the appeal rounds and things were beginning to play out as the coordinators fought through the ranks. Leading the way with 37 points were Ultimate Charizard and Grey, although the latters absence threatened to leave him behind. Dragonis had the lowest score, 32, although this was by no means an unimpressive score, and the plucky member was sure to fight back with ease.

Said the judge, "Double Appeals are my favourite type of appeal because of the fun that can be had pairing up your Pokemon. Opposing elements, like fire and ice, or ghost and psychic, are great displays of beauty, or similarly you can use aerial displays with two flying types. Part of the fun (and key to success) is picking the right Pokemon."

    Appeal #1
    Dragonis

    Leer~Ice Shard~Night Slash
    Mean Look~Focus Blast~Psyco Cut

From the two Pokeballs emerged the warriors; a skinny, black weasel with a bold red crown and sharp claws stared at a tall, bladed soldier with a green helmet. Weavile and Gallade both glared at each other; one leered wildly while the other gave an empowering stare. Despite being allies, they seemed foes now. Instantly Weavile stuck a paw out, freezing the moisture between her two bigger claws, creating a thick shard of ice she deftly through towards Jay. The psychic Pokemon retalliated by holding both blade-like apendages out and focusing a train of blasted energy to sweep through the air. The two projectiles sped on, the ice shard slicing into the focus blast, causing it to split and explode as the shard melted instantly. Weavile then slashed wildly, sending two frantic blades of dark energy to whip across at Gallade, who countered with two expertly crafted blades of pink psychic energy. The flour blades met, causing a huge, smoking bang to echo around the hall.

    Score: 16/20
A very interesting appeal. I am not normally a fan of the fighting-each-other appeals but it worked well; I envision Weavile and Gallade as evil and good, in a counterbalancing way, so this appeal was quite creative. Your attacks were very well matched. Great work.

    Appeal #2
    Ultimate Charizard

    Bulbasaur - Vinewhip/Bullet Seed/Seed Bomb
    Phanpy - Sunny Day/Rollout/Watergun

After a blinding full score last round, UC stepped up with his two Pokemon, Phanpy and Bulbasaur. They burst from their Pokeballs and landed on the arena as the audience applauded their cuteness. Phanpy cried out and summoned the sun to pulsate powerfully in the sky as Bulbasaur summoned two vines to form a ramp-like structure down his back.

Phanpy charged, leaping into a ball and heading towards Bulbasaur. As Phanpy rolled onto Bulbasaur's vines, the creature gripped tightly and hurled the elephant up into the sky. Phanpy continues to spin and spray a jet of water all around; Bulbasaur fires up an array of glowing green seeds, before subsequently firing up a large seed that explodes in mid-air; Phanpy lands as water droplets sprinkle across the sun-kisses arena, small shards of seed falling to the ground.

    Score: 16/20
Good work, a nice appeal with some cute Pokemon. The only problem was that the attacks were out of sequence, so that the water didn't really fall when the seeds all exploded, but it was still very creative.

    Appeal #3
    MeLoveGhosts

    Dig ~ Overheat + Dragonrage
Rocktomb ~ Icebeam ~ Giga Impact

MeLoveGhosts released his two fighters; one was a huge brown doll comprised of clay, looking ominous and slightly scary as he floated a few inches from the ground. The second was a recently-evolved Charmeleon. The Charmeleon clawed at the ground and burrowed away as Claydol span back, crooning and unleashing thick slabs of rock to burst from the ground and cover up the large hole. As this happened, the mysterious artefact blasted a thick beam of ice to glaze over and cover up the tomb. Claydol, rising above the tomb, suddenly glowed a bright white and powered down, preparing to smash the creation. Crashing into it, and causing a large banging noise, the Charmeleon ripped out from underneath, glowing a bright, fiery red and slashing away with draconian power.

    Score: 17/20
Very interesting. I liked Charmeleon bursting out as Claydol smashed it up. That was cool. My only thought is the problem of a collision...but the tomb was large enough for Charmelon to leap out of and Claydol smash into subsequentally.

    Appeal #4
    River

    Quick Attack/Dark Pulse/Faint Attack
    Seismic Toss/Energy Pulse/Leaf Storm

Moderator River hurled her two Pokeballs through the air and a Weavile emerged alongside her powerful Sceptile, once belonging to Grey. Sceptile grabbed Weavile and tossed her into the air; she soared up, darting through the skies with a quick attack and charging up a projectile. Weavile blasted a pulsating orb of dark shadow down as Sceptile blasted an energy ball up; the swirling, gaseous ball of eternal power slammed into the dark pulse; the two shuddered as Weavile used faint attack to dissapear and try to land back down gracefully. As she did, Sceptile slammed her wrists together and a flurry of speeding leaves kicked up; they surrounded as the orb-like projectiles burst into a swirling mass of dark energy and green power.

    Score: 18/20
I liked the color contrasts here, green and black, very interesting. Using quick attack in mid-air was also effective but faint attack would probably not have helped Weavile's descent; falling that far would have hurt!

    Appeal #5
    OzAndrew

Aqua Ring -- Psychic -- Power Gem
Ice Beam -- Confuse Ray -- Swift

Andrew sent out his two aquatic Pokemon Corsola and Starmie. Corsola shot a ring of water up into the air; it expanded into a swirling hoop of sparkling water as Starmie blasted a beam of ice up and froze it solid, manoevuring the beam around the ring. As it fell slightly Corsola suspended it in mid-air with a psychic attack, as Starmie blasted a spinning confuse ray into the center. The light bounced off the interior of the crystallised ring as Starmie then created a flurry of golden stars that whooshed around the ring, just as Corsola blasted a streaking gem of sparkling core through the center of the ring, ending the appeal as shattered glass jumped up around them.

    Score: 19/20
Not much to say...a great mix of water and ice attacks, and you used your Pokemon's movepools really well, too! I'd stay clear from ice and water appeals for now since you've been using them quite a lot recently I've noticed.

    Appeal #6
    Hypotenuse Man

    Psychic ~ Psychic ~ Will-o-Wisp
    Swift ~ Moonlight ~ Wish

Gengar smirked as he waited for Umbreon to proceed. Umbreon's rings glowed and he blasted an array of stars up into the sky. Gengar held them in place with a psychic attack. Umbreon's rings glowed darker and darker, until a blanket of shining stars filled the navy sky. Gengar then fired up a series of ghostly flames that smashed into the stars and set them alight, turning them a periwinkle blue. As the stars burned down to the ground, Umbreon's wish summoned streaks of stars to shoot overhead.

    Score: 19/20
Cool theme here, with a kinda astral thing going on. I liked it!

    Appeal #7
    Blademaster

(Grodus): Light Screen, Scary Face, Brick Break (then play dead)
(Plaz): (after revealing itself) Double Team, Thunder Wave, Ominous Wind

When the light from the Pokeballs died down, a hulking Metagross stood. The judge watched keenly as Blademaster gave a sly wink. This was no flirting - Blademaster had a plan. Metagross created a gleaming screen of force infront of him; it shimmered in the sun as a sudden manifestation of Rotom appeared all around, swimming among the Metagross like a swarm of flies. They fizzed and cackled manically, shooting off tendrils of lightening left and right. Metagross was angried, frowning angrily and grimacing to the little devils. Finally having enough, Metagross swung his clawed arms and shattered the computer screen; the clones summmoned a sweeping, ghostly cloak of wind as Metagross collapsed, having had enough. The Rotom's cackled as they floated up into the air.

    Score: 20/20
Very good! I'm being generous with the 20/20's but hey you guys are good :p Great appeal, using an unconventional theme and you explored it very well. Congratulations!

    Appeal #8
    Weasel Overlord

Growth ~Strength (to shake Thom into the sky) ~Bullet Seed (to fire two seeds)
Agility (scamper up Arith to try and steal her fruit) ~Defence Curl (curl into a graceful, streamlined ball) ~Double Hit (to destroy the two seeds)

Panting heavily, Wease threw her Pokemon forward and they burst to life; Tropius, the huge, economic fruit-bearing dinosaur and the quirky Ambipom, giving a chuckle as he emerged. Tropius glowed white as she started increasing in size. Ambipom used an agility to leap onto the allies back, scamper up the elongated neck and reach for some delicious fruit. Tropius swung her head around wildly, causing Ambipom to fly up; he tucked into a tight ball and span into the air fast. Tropius opened her mouth and fired two large seeds out in rapid sucession; as they wove towards Ambipom, he uncurled, swinging his two tails around and smashing both the seeds.

I liked the idea here. I thought the Pokemon were compatible and you used your attacks together really well. Nice work!
