    Default Phantom Darkness news

Whoah, I'm the first one with news on the set after Gladiator's Assault! YAY!

Here are the cards that are known so far, and my ideas on them:

    PTDN-JP006
    Yubel
    Dark/Fiend/10/0/0
This card cannot be destroyed as a result of battle. When this face-up Attack Position card is attacked, inflict damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to the ATK strength of that monster. The controller of this card takes no Battle Damage from a battle involving this card. Tribute 1 monster during each of your End Phases. If you do not, destroy this card. When this card is destroyed by a card effect except its own, you can Special Summon 1 "Yubel - Das Abscheulich Ritter"" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard.

Yep, the Big Bad from Season three of GX is now a real card. As for how useful she is... Well, she needs her own deck to really be good. But she's easier to summon than you might think. One Mystic Tomato is all you need, then you can really get started. You'll need to use a lot of Token Monsters, but a Yubel Deck could work if you worked hard at it.

    PTDN-JP007
    Yubel - Das Abscheulich Ritter
    Dark/Fiend/11/0/0
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by the effect of "Yubel". This card cannot be destroyed as a result of battle. When this face-up Attack Position card is attacked, inflict damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to the ATK strength of that monster. The controller of this card takes no Battle Damage from a battle involving this card. During each of your End Phases, destroy all monsters on the field except this card. When this card is removed from the field, you can Special Summon 1 "Yubel - Das Extreme Traurig Drache"" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard.

Of course, you'll need this in the same deck. Note that if you use, say, Snipe Hunter to destroy your own Yubel, you still get to bring out this. Then you can nuke the whole field. Again, this sort of deck will need work.

    PTDN-JP008
Yubel - Das Extreme Traurig Drache

The rest is unknown, but it has to be good.

    PTDN-JP0??
    Rainbow Dark Dragon
    Light/Dragon-Effect/10/4,000/0

The rest is unknown. As far as we know, there are no plans to release the Advanced Gem Beasts.

    PTDN-JP0??
    Elemental Hero Storm Neos
    Wind/Warrior/Fusion-Effect/9/3,000/2,500
Elemental Hero Neos + Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin + Neo-Spacian Air Hummingbird

The rest is unknown. If I were to guess, I'd say it would be close to its anime effect.

    PTDN-JP018
    Dark Nephthys
    Dark/Winged Beast/8/2400/1600
When there are 3 or more DARK monsters in your Graveyard, you can remove 2 of them from play to send this card from your hand to the Graveyard. If this card is sent to the Graveyard in this way, this card can is Special Summoned from your Graveyard during your next Standby Phase. When this card is Special Summoned, destroy 1 Magic or Trap Card on the field.

A dark sister of the Sacred Phoenix, and not a bad card. Maybe has too high a price for a Monster with only 2,400 ATK, but still okay.

    PTDN-JP0??
    Dark Armed Dragon
    Dark/Dragon/8/2800/1000
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned when there are only 3 DARK monsters in your Graveyard. Remove 1 DARK monster from your Graveyard from play to destroy 1 card on the field.

Powerful, yes, but way too hard to summon. If you have even one more than three Dark Monsters in your Graveyard, this would be dead weight. You want an Armed Dragon, go for the original.

    PTDN-JP0??
    Knight of the End
    Dark/Warrior/4/1400/1200
When this card is Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned, or Special Summoned, you can select 1 DARK monster from your Deck and send it to the Graveyard.

Good lord, how long have they been hiding this guy?? This guy is wicked! You could use him to send Disk Commander or Dasher to the Graveyard... And so many other Monsters as well to retrieve later - all the Gravekeepers (combo with Rite of Spirit), all the Dark Scorpions (combo with The Warrior Returning Alive), DD Scout Plane, the Cyberdark Monsters (combo with Cyberdark Impact! and summon the big guy); this Warrior has SO many uses!

    PTDN-JP???
    Dark Burst
    Normal Magic
Add 1 DARK monster with an ATK strength of 1500 or less from your Graveyard to your hand.

Another good card. Use to recover the card you sent to the Graveyard with Knight of the End!

That's all that's known for now, but this set looks okay for a start.

Again, from Spikes & Baron, some more Phantom Darkness cards.

    Rainbow Neos
    Light/Warrior - Fusion - Effect/10 stars/ATK 4500/DEF 3000
"Elemental Hero Neos" + "Rainbow Dragon" OR "Rainbow Dark Dragon"
This card cannot be Special Summoned except by Fusion Summon, and its Fusion Summon can only be conducted with the above Fusion Material monsters. Once per turn, you can select and activate 1 of the following effects:
    - Send 1 monster you control to the Graveyard to return all monsters your opponent controls to their owners' Decks.
    - Send 1 Spell or Trap Card you control to the Graveyard to return all Spell and Trap Cards your opponent controls to their owners' Decks.
    - Send the top card of your Deck to the Graveyard to shuffle all cards from your opponent's Graveyard into your opponent's Deck.

*blinks* Um...wow. The ultimate combination of Jesse's and Jaden's Decks, and it's got some power there. Getting it out is nigh impossible (keep in mind that this is not an "Elemental Hero" monster, so Miracle Fusion is out of the question), but if you can manage it...

    Super Fusion
    Quick-Play Spell
Activate by discarding 1 card. Send, from either side of the field to the Graveyard, Fusion Material monsters listed by a Fusion monster in your Fusion Deck, and Special Summon that Fusion monster. (This is treated as a Fusion Summon.) Card effects cannot be chained to this card's activation.

Polymerization to the tenth power. I'm not exactly sure about the last sentence (it's literal translation is When this card is activate, effect of Magic/Trap/effect monster cannot be activate.), but the fact that this card is a Quick-Play is cool all by itself, and any sort of effect-protection is desperately needed in this game.

    Instant Neo Space
    Equip Spell
Equip only to a Fusion monster that lists "Elemental Hero Neos" as a Fusion Material monster. Its effect that returns it to the Fusion Deck at the end of the turn is negated. When it is removed from the field, you can Special Summon 1 "Elemental Hero Neos" from your hand, Deck or Graveyard.

Not all that bad. The triple contact-fused Fusions (Magma, Chaos, and I think Storm, but I'm not sure) all have effects that only activate when they return to the Fusion Deck, but this also works with the lower double contact-fused Fusions as well. Bringing out Neos when the equipped monster does make its grand exit is a nice touch.

    Rainbow Veil
    Equip Spell
The effects of monsters that battle the equipped monster are negated during that Battle Phase.

A nice protection effect. This allows you to avoid nasty surprises like D.D. Warrior Lady or Old Vindictive Magician, and it completely shuts down monsters with effects that activate when they are destroyed. Unfortunately, due to Destiny Heroes, Gadgets, and Monarchs, the most dangerous effects you need to worry about happen outside of the Battle Phase, making this card slightly pointless, but it's a step in the right direction.

More PTDN news... (again, thanks to Spikes & Baron)

    Rainbow Dark Dragon
    PTDN-JP003
    Light/Dragon - Effect/10 stars/ATK 4000/DEF 0
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by removing 7 different DARK monsters in your Graveyard from play. You can remove all other DARK monsters on your side of the field and in your Graveyard from play to have this card gain 500 ATK for each removed card.

Yubel, the Extreme Despair Dragon (not sure on the German translation)
    PTDN-JP008
    Dark/Fiend - Effect/12 stars/ATK 0/DEF 0
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by the effect of "Yubel, the Absolute Ruler". This card is not destroyed by battle and Battle Damage you take from a battle involving it becomes 0. When this face-up Attack Position card battles a monster your opponent controls, destroy that monster at the end of the Damage Step and inflict damage to your opponent equal to its ATK.

    Dark Horus Dragon
    Dark/Dragon - Effect/8 stars/ATK 3000/DEF 1800
Once per turn, during your opponent's Main Phase, when a Spell Card is activated, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower DARK monster from your Graveyard.

    Dark Creator
    Dark/Thunder - Effect/8 stars/ATK 2300/DEF 3000
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. While there are at least 5 DARK monsters in your Graveyard and you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. Once per turn, you can remove 1 DARK monster in your Graveyard from play to Special Summon 1 DARK monster from your Graveyard.

    Sacrifice Lotus
    Dark/Plant - Effect/1 star/ATK 0/DEF 0
During your End Phase, while you control no Spell or Trap Cards, you can pay 1000 Life Points to Special Summon this card from your Graveyard in face-up Attack Position.

    Magical Chronicle
    Continuous Spell
Activate by sending all cards in your hand to the Graveyard. When you activate this card, select 5 non-Monster Cards from your Deck and remove them from play. When your opponent activates a Spell Card, place 1 Chronicle Counter on this card when that Spell Card resolves. You can remove 2 Chronicle Counters from this card to have your opponent select 1 of the card you removed from play with this card's effect and add it to your hand. When this card is removed from the field, you take damage equal to the number of cards still removed from play by this card's effect x 500.

    Priestess Ohm
    Dark/Spellcaster - Effect/4 stars/ATK 1700/DEF 1400
You can Tribute 1 DARK monster to inflict 800 damage to your opponent.

    Dark Crusader
    Dark/Warrior - Effect/4 stars/ATK 1600/DEF 300
You can send 1 DARK monster from your hand to the Graveyard to have this card gain 400 ATK.

    Sacrifice Lotus
    Effect Monster (Plant / DARK / 1 Star / ATK 0 / DEF 0)
If this card is in your Graveyard during your End Phase and you control no Spell or Trap Cards, you can Special Summon this card in face-up Attack Position. While this card is face-up on the field, the controller of this card takes 1000 damage during each of their Standby Phases.

    PTDN-JP0??
    Split D. (Demon) Rose
    Effect Monster (Plant / DARK / 7 Stars / ATK 0 / DEF 1500)
When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 2 "D. Rose Tokens" Plant-Type/DARK/Level 3/ATK 1200/DEF 1200) on your side of the field.

    PTDN-JP0??
